I'm back with my Ask games again!

This time we have a spring based prompts theme. You get a spring prompt and a character and I'd like to know your head canon/immediate thoughts on the combination.

THANK YOU FOR INCLUDING ME IN YOUR REINDEER GAMES I FEEL SO LOVED

What immediately comes to mind is Javi's wardrobe. It is full of bright, warm colors and I love him in oranges, red, and yellows.

I have my fair share of colors in my wardrobe, but there's an overwhelming amount of black just because it goes with everything and makes getting ready in the morning a lot easier. Black also generally hides wear and therefore lasts longer.

I can imagine showing up at his house for a vacation and after a few days he notices all the black black black day in and day out, and all he says is that he wants to take me into town, that he has a surprise for me. And he takes me into a shop that has all kinds of beautiful, flowing clothing, perfect for warmer climates and tells me I would be more comfortable in the heat in lighter fabrics and he would like to treat me and I should pick out some outfits.

Of course, I'm going to go toward the darker colors. No doubt he's taking me somewhere that isn't cheap and I'll want to make sure I can hide stains and wear things longer. But he would ask me to try them on.

And maybe he would give a half-hearted nod to some of them, but maybe he would take some and swap them out for brighter colors. For indigos and aquas, for peaches and pinks. For stripes and florals and retro patterns.

And those he would make a big deal over. Stupidly overacting how much he loves them on me.

And I would let him.

Because he obviously means to lighten my mood and my step, to bring me back to my playful self. Just like he put on a big show for Nick to not quit acting, went over the top with his family to reconcile them, so too would he find a showy way to put me in an island kind of mood and make me feel confident and pretty.

okay so i am in need of an infodump i think...

i am decorating my flat...

and i'm a bit overwhelmed and stuck?

basically there are some main categories:

lighting - including lightbulbs, lamps, lampshades, strings of lights etc.

furniture - chair, dining table, wardrobes etc.

curtains, blankets, throws

wall colours

i'm also not sure how to *divide* up my room - because it is basically one big room - there's a kinda galley kitchen thing which comes off the main room - then a door to a hallway which leads to a bathroom..

so what i'm undecided and confused about is actually a lot of it -- but one thing is what do i want to do in the space -- how do i want to use it? what functionally is important? do i want a desk or is a dining table more important? do i want a TV? what kind of dresser drawers do i want? what kind of bedding do i want... in theory all of this should be easy but it is just so many DECISIONS...

BEDDING ----

i think i've decided on this bedding:

i really like its texture i think it seems good stimmy - the pattern is very chill and calming - the colours are very natural and it makes me feel very relaxed when i look at it which is good.. like honestly i haven't seen it in person yet so might hate it but it is my fave so far

COLOUR SCHEME:

this is the colour scheme i'm thinking of:

it's sorta like a peach/ terracotta base - some earthy greens, and neutral greys - with some blue accents - dark hardwood where possible - top right is the minimal feel i'd like - bottom right is very calming - top and bottom left are more for the colour scheme

today i went to the hardware shop and picked up a bunch of colour swatches - one thing i noticed is that they looked really light in the shop but all of them are significantly darker than the existing wall colour which is like a cream colour.. i think what i'm leaning towards is predominantly very neutral but warm base colour for the walls with accents in my colour scheme

TEXTILES:

my favourite textiles are muslin, quilt fabrics, and crochet

texturally they are wonderful and all feel fresh/ breathable while also being heavy and falling really nicely - i am drawn to the mismatched loud prints and colours - for the muslin the plain colour i think is really nice

Passing Tips for My FTM Brothers

Note: I'm gonna recommend going for a decently masculine look, please don't shout at me that "not all trans guys n e eeeeeEEE Ddd to be masculine!!!!" I know that, but you can't Expect to pass if you're wearing makeup or colorful shirts. (Sorry, I'm a truscum and that automatically makes me mean UwU)

Clothes

Buying shirts a size larger than you'd normally wear helps a lot; especially if you can't bind. Another thing that's really good is wearing patterned button ups since they can hide ur chest. (Only thing I wouldn't recommend is flannels (especially plaid ones) since a Lot of girls wear them, so strangers might assume that you're a girl)

Wear darker colors; it really works for some reason.

Sweatpants are great. I'm not talking about those yoga pants that hug ur hips n stuff; those really suck. I'm talking about those ones that have the elastic band slightly above your hips, loose fabric, then have the elastic again at your ankles. gOOD STUFF; MMMMMM

When it comes to jeans I'd say the looser or straight leg-ish they are the better.

Pullover hoodies are a lifesaver bc they hide your curves and also make your shoulders look bigger.

This one's weird, but don't wear colorful/patterned socks. People just associate it with girls n crap

Hair

Obviously you should go for shorter hair, and I'd suggest going pretty short on the sides and keeping a longer fringe-y bit that you can mess with and style all you want. You don't NEED to do this though, sometimes trans guys can still look masculine with medium-length hair (especially if you're on T)

Don't just immediately shave your hair off; not everyone looks masculine with it.

I'd avoid dying it crazy colors since it's viewed as an incredibly feminine thing.

As for facial hair, shaving your peach fuzz consistently is a good idea since when you shave hair it grows back thicker.

Mannerisms

Try n talk at a lower tone, which you can do by talking from your chest (where you can feel the vibrations of your vocal chords in ur chest). Don't force it too much or else you'll sound like you're trying to do a Cr1tikal impression: it doesn't sound natural.

Don't talk fast or as much; those are both quite feminine things

Put your hands in your pockets or keep your hands busy when you aren't doing anything; it's a random thing I've observed with dudes

DO NOT talk with your hands!! This is probably hypocritical with me, Mr. Fuckin Limp Wrist, but it's S O feminine and not a lot of dudes really do it.

This one's kinda weird, but when you're in public you should hold the door for people. It's a thing that people view as really masculine, and it's also just a nice thing to do. And I like being nice, goddammit.

Try n get some male friends, since when you're in public with a group of all girls people will just assume that you're a girl too (friend groups with like 4 girls and 1 guy aren't seen often)

I could continue but all in all, just observe how cis dudes behave and try to copy them. Don't stress TOO much about passing or else your brain's gonna explode.
