I'm going back to college for the second time while momming and working and writing

I looooooove the outdoors. Mountain hike I'm yo girl, beach day I'm in, rando open space or national park where I can collect shiny rocks or fancy sticks HECK YEAH!

I have at one time or another studied multiple martial arts, fencing, archery, and other combative arts. Some of it was work related, some just for fun. But overall there is nothing funnier than seeing the shocked look on a 6 foot something Mandude the moment you flip them to the ground....

But for all of these I'm a huge insecure worry wart. Like I worry that i'm too much or that i wear people out. Seems confident and mostly is but still warm and gooey and not quite right in the middle.

here is where i might be the asshole.

i told the room at large that i wanted to listen to taylor swift and queued the song. one of my coworkers turns out to be a swiftie and got excited because i don't listen to music most people know. the song plays and it is taylor swift by enjoy music club. my coworker got a little sad and called me mean but, i didn't lie and it was just the one song.

Fluff is all well and good, and sometimes I even like it with these two- there have been a few fics where I felt like I could at least glimpse The Vision. But I tend to get really bored as soon as they enter into a standard romantic relationship together. Personally, I hope they remain enemies with benefits and possessive little freaks about each other for all their days.

Like Sampo is already kind of an oddball, so no one's super surprised about him. But I love the thought of Gepard seeming like A Little Guy, then suddenly skyrocketing into Oh, He's A Little Fucked Up the moment people see how he acts about Sampo haha

Sampo embarrassing Gepard on purpose is so funny though I love that JDMSKNSKSME

You just know he would drop the fact that he's familiar with Gepard's bedroom whenever possible (he has never once actually been invited into said bedroom). Like Gepard is just trying to lead a small patrol and one of them remarks that he looks tired.

"I'm fine, I just didn't sleep-"

"I'm tellin' ya Geppie, your curtains are old and thin, they're lettin' in too much light for you to sleep!"

And all of the soldiers freeze, Gepard's face glowing red as they all slooooowly look up, and see Sampo lounging on a fire escape above them like a Cheshire Cat. ☆

I think some need to realize localization does not equal bad. I can get behind "he's almost like a fairytale creature in that regard," but AM's "rad dude" contrasts more heavily with Mario at the time, I feel.

Ex of localization: In Splatoon's Salmon Run, Mr Grizz is supposed to be the shady boss of the job you're working. The characteristics of a shady boss differ between cultures. In JP, he is characterized as overly nice and forgiving. In AM, he is characterized as ruthless, unforgiving, and rough, with the occasional compliment to keep you motivated. Either way, both cultures get the idea that something is fishy with this guy.

Bringing it back to Sonic, in both continuities, he is characterized as a carefree do-gooder with an attitude, more or less. He is cool. However, like the Splatoon example, he is given multiple ways to portray this to the right audience.

People have their aesthetic preferences, and it is incredibly convenient that we are able to communicate information across the globe, so we now know of these different interpretations, and can pick which one we like. It'd be one thing if that weren't the case, then I'd understand why people would be upset, because these interps would be gatekept from everyone else.

This one I thought was funnier than the original. It's generalized. (That's the Archie comic font iirc. 🤓)

It reminds me of how many Sonic copycats there were around the mid-late 90s because of how successful of a character he was.

The drawing on the left reminds me of some arcade collection games I played on my Xbox as a kid.

That also reminds me how many people who defend SatAM are 90s kids. This was their first impression, and they love it. I'm the oddball youngin who so happened to prefer this version after typing "Sonic Cartoon" into YouTube in the year 2013, but it makes me wonder how old are these lil petty babies who have nothing better to do than complain about a cartoon animal? (Trust me, you are going to look pathetic regardless of your answer.)

This one took me by surprise! Talk about sabotaging a Sonic story! I don't like this guy too much, but he is occasionally a credible source. I feel like that's the case in more recent times than say at least 10 years ago. This one you can take his word for, as there are mutple pieces of evidence to support this. (Im not your mom, do your own research. The feds wont be after you if you type "SatAM production history" into your search bar.) The first sentence is a full on mood. It felt like Lily Orchard's "Steven Universe is Garbage, Here's Why" video, and 90% of it is them struggling with story comprehension and changing their opinion every 5 minutes.

Today I'm thinking about a fallen angel Soukoku AU.

Dazai was cast down from the heavens and lost his wings and halo and has one of two options:

Either try to earn the goodwill back to reclaim his position among the angels

Screw it, assimilate into the mortal realm

He's a total oddball and sticks out pretty badly while trying to adjust to the customs of humans in general but also Japan-specific customs so people either think he's an oddball foreigner or he's just...yeah. He sometimes slips and calls people humans.

Dazai's also super nosy so when he comes across Chuuya, he has no shame in just walking up to Chuuya and asking about his hair and his eye color and how magnificent that combination is because he's never seen it in another person yet!

Chuuya's also a lil nosy though, because they get to that dreaded what's your life story question at some point in their friendship and Dazai's just like uh. How does he casually bring up that he's technically a sinner and a tempter and he's considered tainted and cast out because no one wants to deal with him now? He's pretty ashamed.

The whole time up until then Dazai's been working on earning that goodwill to return to the gates of heaven, but there's just something about Chuuya that's fascinating and as his time in the mortal realm starts coming to an end, he's getting cold feet about going back? Like maybe he likes this new life after all, it isn't so bad and DEFINITELY isn't as bad as all the angels said.

People smile. They laugh. They know how to love. They're not all bad out to get others and be evil. And some people are just fumbling and trying to get through life with the cards they've been dealt.

Transmission Transition

Yeah buddy, I'd want some time alone too after that full-blown verbal holy war Kendrick Lamar dragged your ass with. Kinda shit that makes you need to stop and reflect on your life choices. Drake is back and he is straight-up pulling a Crane Wife hot on the heels of Stussy putting words to some interesting concepts we've seen.

It's been a while, so for a refresher I care a lot about X Drake coming back around because we dangled his report on Wano as a Chekov's Gun way back at the start of Egghead. If he's the one to open up a reinterpretation of Wano...Drake's scenes overlap with Kiku/Izo's a fair amount. So once again, hot on the heels of Stussy speaking that potential baggage aloud here's Drake playing very nice as a followup. Drake, Stussy, Marco. That was the trio I was looking for in this pseudo-anthology's third side story. Speaking of...

It's been a while. Always had nascent ideas about the idea Zoro busts out an attack called Rashomon with Kuma way back when. Of course I've made plenty of mentions of the film reference. Even if you haven't seen it you've seen the story structure. Three POVs on the same event, the real magic is in stitching the truth together out of three unreliable narrators. Marco's perfect to spell it all out as the sorta "framing device" between Wano & Egghead.

It's hard to tell week-to-week what we'll do with this one, but I think we can see what our trio is for Egghead:

First we step away to see a collection of side stories, end on filing in the truth of Sabo/Vivi in Reverie. This though obscured what happened in the lab.

Next we give Bonney a whirl through her backstory with Kuma, where he'll both be a bit of an unreliable narrator and also rewrite some events we've seen prior through giving his POV. When we return we reiterate last night was a gap and add the mystery pile of food for Luffy.

Vegapunk's Broadcast, duh. It was more of a distraction while we saw some relation to the main plot but it still fits the bill. We've done Stussy, we're getting Drake, if you do loop Marco in than it's a way to complete the ASL theme with an Ace connection too. And don't sleep on the York focus here either.

Of course, we'll need to see the next few chapters to really evaluate that. Each one have had their content that raises questions, unreliable narrators and oddball tropes like that. But let's get back to this chapter, there was a cool running line in there I liked:

I could riff on Koby, Grus, & Kujaku getting a bit meta here but I'll save that until I know the next few steps. Kujaku gets to shine a lil more in this SWORD segment as the one checking on Drake but her line here gets a lot more interesting when Bluegrass & Doll have a similar mindset attacking the giants. Bluegrass especially encouraging the young ones to step up and become a star. Makes me think a lot about our OP for the anime adaptation The end of the dream, the end of the sea...but first we have to make a shining legend of ourselves.

It's just funny to me one could interpret the lyrics to "Us" as a threat this arc maybe will break the direction I've long hoped it would is all I'm saying. Let's bring this all home with the main highlight of the chapter though.

It's not just the stinger, the Gorosei seemed a little shocked their first hits on Robonosuke stopped everything. York is relieved but recall last time we talked about her theory that's where the antenna snail was hiding was just that, a theory.

Type of thing that could go either way and either option could have a lot of ways of unfolding. That said...this is a perfect ending if some unknown force is about to take advantage of these gaps to justify being in prime position to hijack the broadcast. Kinda feels like it'd be a cop out to have Robonosuke hanging around this whole time just to get smacked around a little. Still very, very excited for this next stint.

Arc Plays Games: Nora to Toki no Koubou: Kiri no Mori no Majo (NDS)

(apparently in English that's something like "Nora the Time Witch")

I'm gonna try something and try to keep track of all the games I play this year. First up is this extremely cute little that honestly got me through being sick as hell over the holiday. It is kind of perfect as a game for your brain at 40%.

Nora is a DS game that has better "Cozy" feel than most games under the cozy game genre. Basically, Nora (the character) is a chronomancer, so she can do time magic. She's a rookie so she's supposed to be learning how to get good at chronomancy. She's sent to a lil cottage in the woods to bone up on her skills.

The house and garden are extremely precious. You can redecorate the cottage, move furniture and crafting items around, change the walls and floor. The garden has friends and you can lure in cute creatures.

The main loop of the game is in three parts. First is making items to fulfill requests for townsfolk and friends. You'll be asked to make a certain item, and have to figure out the best way to do so with time magic, dismantling raw materials, and processing materials into new stuff. You start off with just a work table and the time magic thingie, then get more and more crafting options like sewing tables and smokers and stuff.

Then you turn in those items and get other items in return and make people happy!

There's also foraging, bc obviously you need materials to make stuff.

There's a whole map with multiple places to go and each of those locations has different materials to gather.

When you arrive at a location, there are interactable things that will give you different materials. Some are sparkly and also give you random effects, like increased rarity, more items, or monsters.

You might want to grab the sparklies first to try and booth the number of materials you get, but on the other hand you might find a monster instead.

Battles are the third pillar. There are a SHOCKING amount of party members, and you can pick and choose teams depending on what you want.

Want to make sure you survive really tough monsters? Go with the errant knight lady and the big friendly city watch guy. Want to get more materials? Go with the soft-spoken clinic worker who can spot more herbs of the 12 year old shop girl who fucking LOVES rocks and can find you more rocks. But the clinic girl isn't great in a fight, so you gotta be careful.

Party members include: a weird mercenary dude who just wants to be the cool knight lady, the buff city watch man who has tea parties and tries to kill monsters with stale bread, the clinic lady who secretly can deadlift a tree, aforementioned 12 year old who thinks rocks are just soooooo cool, the hot knight lady who i think has the hots for Nora but i'm not sure, a Capitalist, a thief who kinda sucks, and a mascot character.

I weirdly ADORE the economy/shop system in this game.

Sometimes when you are selling off old equipment or excess materials, the shopowner will counteroffer your request for money with rare items instead.

YOU CAN DO THIS TOO. Most of the stock in the shops can be bought outright OR you can choose "Buy with items" and offer up stuff in exchange for the item you want.

Shops have normal stock but also special stock you can only get by trading the right materials. The armory guy has swords and stuff BUT if you want the good shit, bring him a dragon scale instead.

I bounce off a lot of these kind of soft, cute games because they don't feel like they have depth but this game sooooo does. I would say the only downside is when you struggle to make a certain items or find a certain material, you... sometimes just gotta figure it out, because this game was an oddball Japanese-only Atlus title and the fan translation isn't super well-known, there isn't a robust wiki to refer you. Just figure it out!

Anyway, solid fucking 4 out of 5 on this game. If you can emulate DS games, you can locate this one pretty easily if you know where to look. (And if you don't know where to look, send me an ask off-anon and I will direct you a bit.)

Warnings: insecurities, slight angst(but not really), fluff

You and your family have been living among the metkiyana for a while now. You've been adapting to this new way of life and you've had your eye on someone ever since you came, Rotxo.

You loved everything about him from his black curly hair to how his smile always lit up the room he entered. You and him have been inseparable since your feet touched the tan-colored sand of Awa'atlu.

He adored you so much. To him, you were the most beautiful girl Eywa planted on Pandora. But to you, you felt like you weren't pretty. You felt like an oddball when it came to beauty. You felt like the other Metkiyana girls were ten times prettier than you. Every time you were around the other village girls they made you feel so small, almost like you were invisible. You felt like your appearance was inadequate.

Every time Rotxo would give you a compliment about how beautiful you looked, it just went in one ear and out the other. You just couldn't receive his words of affection because you didn't believe in them. You didn't believe that his words were true.

Every time you looked at your reflection in the crystal blue waters you just felt like you were unattractive. You didn't understand what Rotxo saw in you, you didn't know why he thought you were beautiful when you just felt so ugly.

As you sat in the mauri that you lived in by yourself you looked out your window and saw a tall palm tree swaying in the wind, you walk over to the window and opened it slightly so you could feel the wind glide against your cerulean-colored skin. As you let the breeze hit your skin you heard voices walking past your pod

"Who do you think is the best-looking girl in the village?"

"Definitely Tsireya, I would tap that anytime" one of the boys said which made you roll your eyes

"You know her and Lo'ak are together man"

"I know" the boy said with a sigh

"Anyway have you seen his sister Y/N she is just so..." the boy couldn't even get his words out so his friend decided to finish his sentence

"Ugly right?! She doesn't look half as good as the other girls around here. I don't see why Rotxo likes her when he can have a normal metkiyana girl and not some girl filled with demon blood"

The boys continued talking and laughing about you which made your ears fall flat and your tail curl up and wrapped around your leg. You knew that your appearance wasn't appealing but hearing those same words fall from someone else's lips made saltine tears cloud your vision.

As you cried, Rotxo was walking towards your pod. As he walked through the entryway of your mauri he heard light sniffles. As he walked deeper into the mauri he saw you standing near the window as tears flowed down your face.

"what's wrong baby? Are you okay?" He asked you as he wrapped his arms around your torso and put his head in the crook of your neck

"I-It's nothing Rotxo" you told him as you hurried and wiped the tears off your face so he couldn't see them

"No baby I can tell something is wrong talk to me" he said sincerely trying to figure out what was causing you to feel unhappy

As a response you just shook your head, you didn't want to tell him know about your insecurities. You didn't want him to know that you were self-conscious and that you felt so inadequate.

"I don't want to talk about it Rotxo" you told him sternly which caused Rotxo to step back from you and sit down on your makeshift bed

"Okay, that's fine just come sit down with me beautiful. I love this top on you it's so pretty" Rotxo told you as he pulled you onto his lap and began to rub his hands on your thighs

As he complimented you and showed you affection it only made you angry, angry for reasons you didn't fully understand.

"Stop Rotxo" you mumbled softly but he still heard you

"Stop what?"

"Stop complimenting me" You told him as you felt a mixture of anger and sadness stir up inside of you

"What do you mean Y/N? Your beautiful and I want you to know that" he told you as he planted wet kisses on your neck

"STOP ROTXO OKAY?! JUST STOP!” You yelled at him as you stood up abruptly and brushed his hands off of you

Rotxo didn't understand why you were so angry, he didn't know why you lashed out at him so suddenly.

"Stop lying to me Rotxo! Ju-just stop lying to me!" You told him as hot tears ran down your face

"What are you talking about Y/N?! I've never lied to you!"

"Yes, you have! All these compliments, t-telling me I'm beautiful, always kissing me and showing me all this affection, just stop Rotxo! I know that I'm unattractive! I know that I'm weird because of my demon blood and I'm nothing compared to the other girls here. Why do you even like me?! Why do you want to be with me so badly?! Huh?!"

As you were talking all of your built-up emotions were overflowing and running out of you like a waterfall. You didn't want to tell him all of this, you didn't want him to know your deepest insecurities but it was too late now. You were already spilling your heart out to him.

"Is it because this is some type of joke?! Are you doing this because you feel pity for me and my family?! I don't understand why you think I'm beautiful when I just feel so ugly?!"

As those words rolled off your tongue Rotxo just stood there like a dear in headlights. He didn't understand where all this anger came from, but hearing you say all those words about yourself made him feel so crestfallen.

"I-I I just feel ugly Rotxo so ugly. Every time I see my reflection my stomach churns, and my body fills with disgust. I hate my skinny tail, my huge eyes, my frail body, I just hate everything about myself and I don't know why you like me Rotxo. I don’t know why you would want me when I look like this" you told him as your eyes were stinging from crying and your heart was throbbing from doing the one thing you told yourself you wouldn’t do which was tell Rotxo how you truly felt.

You looked at Rotxo and saw him just standing there in front of you with a glaze of sadness in his eyes. As you looked at his twisted face you immediately regretted telling him all of those things “R-Rotxo I’m sorry I-I didn’t mean to lash out at you, I shouldn’t have do-”

Rotxo walked up to you and began to shush you, “You’ve been holding that in for a long time haven’t you?” He asked you as he caressed your cheeks and wiped the tears off of your face

You just nodded your head in response because you didn’t want anything else embarrassing to fall out of your mouth

“Y/N the reason I like you is because of your laugh, your kind heart, the way you treat me, and how you truly see me. Your not ugly baby and I don’t want those words to ever fall off your lips ever again.”

He leaned your head down and kissed you on your forehead, “You are beautiful *kiss* pretty *kiss* gorgeous *kiss* and the sexiest na’vi I’ve ever laid eyes on. No girl has ever made me feel the way you do.” Every time he gave you a compliment he planted a kiss on a different area of your face

He then moved down and planted kisses on your neck and collarbone. He wanted to show you his affection through his body language, he needed to show you that his words were true.

As he did this you finally were able to believe his words. He made you see that you were beautiful. He showed you that you were pretty even if you couldn’t see it.

“Your beautiful Y/N okay? You are beautiful and I love everything single thing about you. I see you Y/N” Rotxo told you as his eyes were filled with love for you

“I see you Rotxo” you told him as you cupped his cheek and pulled him in for a kiss

At this moment you felt so much love, you were so glad that you told Rotxo your true feelings and that he didn’t dismiss them and instead he reassured you that you were beautiful.

You were so grateful for Rotxo.

You were so thankful that Eywa brought you two together.

Soooo... Morgan... Oh Morgan.

This guy was hell to design at first: I had so many attempts to capture the vibe I wanted to go with him and for a long time, I wasn't satisfied with the way he looked. But now I can say I'm definitely very satisfied with it (maybe not with the clothes but it´s easy to fix).

ofc I still gotta think about like his patronus n wand and whatnot

Just how I created Melly for sake of Cassandra's character development, so did I create Morgan for Daniel's development.

What crossed my mind was "Now that Daniel has high chances of joining NOTME now (if he didn't join it already) , given everything, he might get more and more isolated from his friends. So how about I give him a friend there, around his age? A genuine,healthy friendship with no ulterior motives?... Except I'll give that friend a tragic fate."

I wanted Morgan to be an oddball among NOTME members of sort, like despite believing in their cause he feels out of place/different to most members, but I went a lil too hard and an oddball part. :"D

Other than that, I always wanted to have a character who's sorta very unceremonious about more macabre topics and is rather calm about concept of death or the idea of dying in general, as a defense mechanism at least. Rest of my characters with death motifs (almost an entirety of DSAA cast + other ocs) were outwardly very sensitive about death/the fact they are going to die, so I wanted to go in opposite direction, explore a different grief coping mechanism.

I’m not sure if you’ve noticed me in your kudos lately (stardrxp) but I just wanted to pop in and say how much I’ve been loving all your fics! They’ve been the one thing getting me through my 1.5 hour commutes to uni lol.

I absolutely adore your writing style and how you write each character. And you can really tell the amount thought you put into world building, backstories, relationships, ect. I can see these projects are something you love a lot.

And don’t get me started on the found family dynamics-... Doc and Ethos’s story in TTSBC had me kicking my feet, and even though I’ve only just started Travelling Theives I can already tell buttercup trio are gonna be my favourites.

New Month! New (Last?) Shirt Post!

In May of 2022, our lil' boo wore these rounded toe boots 🥾 that really shorten the leg visually (which is why a pointier shoe is better, but I digress as I have a personal vendetta against smelly steel-toed work boots). We can see here that our broad shouldered, snack illustrious actor is a lean, mean ⚽ soccer football machine. It is a slim cut that's close to the body.

so one day i was watching an undertale cringe cop re-living the early days of the fandom with my boyfriend when i saw a woman sans and i had a brain blast and ran to ms paint and drew what isaw in my head and then i drew a chara n marph and then i drew a frisk then a papyrus then a flowey then an alphys but i decided to line, rework and color the first 4 but while i drew and lined i was listening to an old song from my childhood days .. lil johns get low and then i had an idea why not make the au about things i had when growing up and then listened to another song called oh oh oh sexy vampire and then transparent soul (the song) and more and more and i just let my imagination loose on this one! i really hope y'all enjoy what i have so far i really let my autistic obsessions came out on this one

snowed up town is like snowed inn but bigger more advanced more monsters more buildings some with sans'es graffiti on them and then you have the train on the save roof i just think its neat it shows how big this underground is

snowed undercity is a big downtown area of snowed up town its like an old 80s anime kinda city pop place lots going on never a dull moment there the light's, the music, the coziness the new have to get ridge leading to it it's the only way to get there and yes its by train and then below you have the void stream of hope and dreams (temp name maybe) it is bottomless and doesn't to feel like water and yet you can float if you have hope

THE RAIL RUINS

the ruins of a long lost rail yard..? but why does it have a sky? how are the fields so long and unraveling how does it have life...truly a bizarre place as the train does not move and there are multiple cars filled with different items... monsters seem to live nicely here..why don't they just go through the door? the sense of hope hear is intoxicating the feeling of adventure is alive a sense of FUN is very alive here

2- Would the cheerleaders have beef with the color guard? (I think they would tbh, but I wanna hear your opinion)

5- Another scenario! (This may or may not happen lmao)- Sabrina (Imma be honest, she probably wouldn't like her) doesn't like her. She's meh Abt her. Now, let's say, somehow, someway the two get into a physical fight. On a scale of one to ten, how badly beat up would your OC be? And why do you think they'd get into that fight?

6-lastly, how does she feel Abt homosexuals? Like I know it's a weird question, but I couple of my ocs are 💅and I wanna know.

Internally panic. She’d probably just blast her earbuds and look out the window, trying to look cool about it. Blaire is all bark and some bite, but she knows when she’s going to lose. She doesn’t want to get her ass beaten by a sophomore in front of her friends, so she just tries to keep quiet.

Oh absolutely. They likely would have to share a practice field, which ends up causing a lot of fights. Blaire doesn’t take it out on the underclassmen too much, but mostly shit talks Lorelai. They’re both the same age and she’s the captain. Monica (who was Jennifer, Blaire’s best friend, from the last post, but my dumbass forgot that there was already an EE character named that) is the head cheerleader, with Blaire being the co head, so she essentially hates Lorelai by default.

3- How tall is she?

5’9. She’s about an inch or two shorter than Car Crash / Fred, but since he doesn’t have a canonical height this was mostly a guess, comparing him to Giovanni’s height.

4- has she done anything illegal?

Blaire is a banzai blaster, so yes. Out of uniform, she’s probably shoplifted some clothes from the mall with her friends. Nothing too big.

It would probably be because of the beef between the cheer squad and color guard, but I can’t think of a specific situation. She doesn’t spread rumors about people (anymore), so it would probably be her saying something bad about Dalia that would get Sabrina angry.

For the fight itself, on the scale, with 1 leaving her with a scratch, and 10 being hospitalized:

Without epithets? Probably like 5ish. Being a cheerleader does take some strength, so if it was just a mundie battle, it would be a fair fight.

With epithets? 11. Blaire is a mundie, so no way she winning that. She’ll either hightail out of there or end up like Sylvie at the end of the museum arc.

Blaire is a straight ally. Because she totally is. She may have wanted to kiss a girl. Maybe even marry one of her female friends when she was in middle school. But all girls have crushes on her friends in her mind. That’s not gay. Obviously.

But in all seriousness, she’s a closeted bisexual with a male preference. Closeted in the sense of her not knowing it yet. All her friends know except for her. She has some internalized homophobia.

Until she figures that out though, Blaire doesn’t identify as LGBTQ+ herself, but supports anyone who does. But I’d give her another month to figure it out.
