rewatching ofmd s1 and I'm absolutely blown away by how much Jim comes into themselves by the end of season two. Knowing the character they become its really stunning to see how disengaged and cynical they are at the start of it all.

Their motivations are almost entirely reactive, to escape Spanish jackie and then to live out their nanas dream of justice. The while time they are in survival mode, moving quickly and efficiently and quietly. Ultimately, moving how they were trained to and nothing else. Because it works! It works so well that I didn't consider something might be missing.

But in season two they're made to be messy, loud. They are stuck on Ed's Breakdown Ship and so have to act differently than they ever have. Not just because they are yelling and screaming and covered in blood cutting a guys leg off, either. They're connecting and caring and critiquing and supporting, they're emotionally engaged in a real way that they very much weren't in season 1. Every day on Ed's ship is horrible, but at least they're present for it. Every day pushes them to be in survival mode but they refuse. They tell fang a story, they kiss Archie back. When Ed says "kill or die" they say "no."

And then, after all that, when they finally get to rest again? Yeah, it's a rough transition, but once they get through it they're absolutely fucking teeming with life. They're painting on a mustache, they're creating conspiracies, they're crossing boundaries to get olus girlfriend back. When the dust settles Jim is inhabiting themselves in a way we haven't seen in the show previously. There is a richness to their character that feels incredibly natural and earned, to the point that I didn't even notice it until I went back to season one and realized how lost they were.

Its pretty obvious that this show is about Ed and stedes collective mid life crisis, but it wasn't until now that I realized its also Jim's coming of age

What's your total AO3 word count? 18,969 words (public)

What fandoms do you write for? For now, I'm focused on Hogwarts Legacy. But I do have some pretty intense ships in other shows, like Stranger Things, so I might dip my quill into those at some point.

Top five fics by kudos? My most popular fic by kudos is Bury. It’s quite amusing because I knocked it out in one night after a few drinks and some seriously intense feelings. It’s my least polished piece, which just goes to show that AO3 readers are all about those spicy, quick reads and I love that, haha.

Do you respond to comments? Absolutely! Every comment notification makes my heart a bit brighter, so I reply to them with as much warmth as I put into my fics.

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I don't think any of my stories end on an angsty note—I'm more of a fluff enthusiast.

What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Perhaps, Insomnium.

Do you get hate on fics? I don't believe I receive enough attention for that to be a concern. However, I do review all comments before they are posted for this very reason, so that I may block any unwanted individuals, if necessary.

Do you write smut? Yes, but in a very delicate, poetic manner. Smut, to me, possesses a certain elegance.

Craziest crossover? None.

Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not to my knowledge, though I do believe I have inspired some writings. I don’t particularly mind if I encounter similar works after mine has been published. Writing is meant to be an inspiring endeavor, and that is precisely the purpose of inspiration.

Have you ever had a fic translated? I have a close, French mutual who helps me double-check my French in my fanfics, and I know a decent amount.

Have you ever co-written a fic before? Well, my husband provides me with a great many ideas for the fics I’ve written, so I would certainly count his contributions. He is an excellent beta reader!

All time favorite ship? I couldn't possibly choose that...I have so many ships. I don't believe I have a favorite; they all occupy equal space in my mind.

What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? None, I am confident that I will finish all of mine in time. I've just been busy!

What are your writing strengths? Transforming risqué themes into romantic fluff is my specialty. I can take a rather smutty idea and turn it into tooth-rotting fluff. It’s more of a curse than a strength, really, haha...I also enjoy crafting dialogue and capturing the canonical personalities of characters. When writing Sebinis, I make a point of watching extensive videos of their lines to accurately capture their mannerisms and language.

Thoughts on dialogue in another language? It’s fine as long as it is executed properly. A minor mistake is forgivable, but it genuinely irritates me when I encounter French in other fics that is clearly incorrect, especially when the writer or beta says that French is their first language, yet this is not evident in their sentences. My French beta mutual has even remarked, “Yeah, no, they're lying” It drives me mad, as I am certain this beta is deceiving the poor author, and yet I cannot address it myself. It is not my place, and I am well aware that it would only result in the individual defensively justifying their lies. Hopefully they will find out eventually...

First fandom you wrote in? First ever?....hmm....I am honestly not sure...maybe (cringe) homestuck??? But that was in 2011 or 2012, hahaha...

Favorite fic you've written? One that I am currently doing for Sebinis...but I can't share because it's for an anon writing fest!

Hello, first and foremost, I would like to thank you for giving the community Under Virgin Circumstances. I have been a very big fan of Martin Freeman ever since. I have read many MANY fanfics with MF characters in them. But when I read UVC, your characterizations are very on point, and I can imagine them saying, thinking, and behaving in your UVC. What I can't get over is the audio you've provided. It promoted it to the very next level. I love reading fanfics, but hearing them in their "voices" hits very differently. Thank you so much, and please do not tire of giving quality fics.

I think you're the first friendly stranger (apart from the fic wives) to appreciate the audio enhancements.

I did longer ones for my Wednesday Afterburn series, and the UVC one would've been longer if not for my character limits on the AI (yes, I paid for access, but I'm poor af and can only afford the basic with limited characters per month 💀). If I ever get a better package heh package, I can do more in less time and I would LOVE to make the entire thing an audio book. Programming doesn't take me too long, I took less than a day to do the one I posted...ofc me being me, I did The Kiss in a day as well, but left the foley out for a couple months before I finished it up for publication.

I have lots of Jairo (and Fill It Black/Willmore) story to write (including their Gap Year), but I need to work on and finish the last chapter of Satisfying Afterburn within the next couple of months. Howeverrrr...I often get wild hares [sic] up my ass and will suddenly publish a surprise or an extra (like the UVC audio! TOTALLY out of the blue because I was curious to hear how good Freeman's voice would be and I was checking up on my AI sites for updates).

I've always thought that Freeman is a great actor, but dang all of that Johnlock stuff back in the day saturated my fyp (I wasn't in the fandom at all) and had me tuning him out for a bit. But now he's got the beard and 🫠💦 I just wish he had been directed to do more during the fantasy scene in MG. Not because of MY fantasies, but because of hers/Cairo's. She wrote some SEX in that thing and what we got was Lifetime 'erotica'...BUT I will say that this was very hott (the fluid movement of those fingers is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥)

As far as characterization goes, thank you. I try. The popular media that grabs my attention tends to envelop my brain. My favorite thing to do is bring secondary characters to the forefront and tell their stories, since everyone has a story.

I love doing the audios and consider myself more of a multimedia fan fiction artist these days, I won't tire of that, but I do wish I had a better system (than programming each individual line and then having to save each one, then stringing them together...my Download folder is a mess of all of their voices)...thank you for noticing, and thank you for your readership. I feel so welcome in Freemanland thanks to Miller's Girl/UVC.

A strange encounter

Trickster turns into an alleyway, pressing her back on the wall, making sure the shadow of the building completely engulfs her whole body like a blanket, not making a sound. She waited and then she heard it, "Girly! Where are you?" She then saw the person she was avoiding came into view, but he didn't seem to notice her in the shadow of the alleyway and kept calling her name while looking around aimlessly.

Trickster has been avoiding Meztli in any way that she can, but Meztli doesn't seem like he's going to give up anytime soon. "Why can't he just leave me alone?" Trickster thought, sighing, visibly annoyed by the boy's stubborn attitude.

Trickster then notices that he seems to accept that he lost her and proceeds to search in another area. Once trickster made sure that he was out of sight, she signed, relieved that she finally got him out of her back... At least for a while. She doesn't know how she keeps meeting him; it just happens, whether out of bad luck or the..... creator..

She then looked at the direction that Meztli went, then stepped out of the alleyway heading in the opposite direction. 'Oh my goodness! I haven't even noticed how hungry I am! I'll just get some donuts or churros on the way, and maybe even a strawberry milkshake while I'm a-' Trickster was then cut out of her thoughts when a stranger, who in a glimpse looks like they're in a rush, bumbs Trickster on the side, causing her to fall on the sidewalk because of the sudden impact.

"Oh goodness! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to do that! " The stranger extended a hand for Trickster to take, and she gladly accepted it, "Oh don't worry! It's fine! It's my fault, I wasn't paying attention to where I'm-" trickster paused, finally looking at the stranger, the immediate drop on their faces when they looked at each other.

Meztli!? It's Meztli!! But... Why is he talking like that? He never says sorry either. Didn't he... Why does he look so different? Trickster thought He still looks the same, but his hair looks a little bit different and he wasn't wearing his usual blindfold and the weird vail like thing on his face. He only had a sunglass on top of his head and he looks just as confused and shocked as Trickster. It took them a while before the "Meztli" in front of Trickster glared at her, "Oh hell no! How the hell do you keep finding me, Trickster? I swear to God if you take one step closer to me, I'm going to fucking kill you! "

...

Trickster? He never calls Trickster by her tittle. She gave him a "did you snort crack or something?" face.

"I'm sorry, but why would you assume that I want to go near you? Also, did you change your appearance just for this dumb joke or what? Because I don't see the punch line.. "

Trickster said, tilting her head in confusion. "Meztli" looked even more confused than she did. ".. What the fuck are you talking about? I was going to ask you the same thing. Also, why are you talking like that? Is this some sort of prank? Are you talking like that to me just to confuse and mess with me? "

Uhhhh Trickster is speechless. She can see the visible and genuine reaction in this Meztli's eyes and that made her even more confused.

Meztli looked at Trickster, waiting for her to say sike or to burst out laughing, but... it never came. Now Meztli is becoming more suspicious of the girl in front of her. She looks flabbergasted, keeping eye contact while finding the right words to say.

"Oooookaayy," she said, finally breaking the silence. She then started walking, passing him and not even looking back at the supposed "friend" that she knew, and frankly, she just didn't want to.

Meztli, however, looked back at Trickster walking away, not knowing whether to stop her or just to let it be. He looked at her again and sighed. He just chose not to. I mean, what can he say anyway? If this was a prank just to confuse him, then it totally worked. His common sense is saying it's just a prank, but her reaction is telling him otherwise, and if it's not a prank, then who is she?

"What the hell did I eat this morning?" He thought.

"Oh hey Trickster! How are you?" Luke greeted, looking at the person who just entered his childhood friends house. Trickster didn't respond but just walked towards the couch and sat besides Lunie who looked at her confused. "Your being uncharacteristically un-responsive.. what's wrong??" Trickster didn't look back at her, she just started at nothing then for a while she finally broke the silence "Can.... can a person hallucinate while knowing that it's not really a hallucination?"
