Aniasis was over the moon. The entire day, she had a silly smile plastered on her face and chipper disposition. She was pregnant and couldn’t wait to tell Lord Vader. Names, color schemes, and a rapidly growing list of baby related necessities buzzed through her head minute by minute.

This child would be a blessing in more ways than one. He or she would carry on Lord Vader’s name, be his heir and one day, help him destroy the Emperor. Only then, could Lord Vader ascend to his rightful place as the leader of the Empire. Aniasis felt proud and honored that Lord Vader allowed her to be such a vessel. 

However, she knew that it would not all be sunshine and everlilies. If the Emperor learned of her pregnancy, Lord Vader and herself would be in great danger of the Emperor’s wrath. If the secret stayed such to allow the child to be born, he or she would face a hard life of isolation and rigorous training. 

But she could worry about that later. She would put her trust in Lord Vader to keep their family safe as he had always done. Aniasis heard him coming. She quickly stood up and checked herself in the mirror. She bowed when he entered the room.

“My Lord,” She greeted, straightening from her bow. “I have excellent news. I’m pregnant!”
