San: My Baby
Anonymous asked: Is there any way you could write a scenario or a fic or whatever for dating San from ateez? Where you’re older and sometimes it’s clear but also sometimes he acts older and tries to protect you/show off? Idk I’m rambling but I love your writing and I know that if anyone could write something I’d love from this prompt, it’s you
Tumblr media
Characters: San x female reader (featuring Wonwoo)
Genre/warnings: idol au, honestly just a lot of fluff
Word count: 1,533
Summary: They say age is just a number, but San really does make it obvious that he’s younger than you. But there are occasions where the roles are reversed and San decides he has to look out for you instead.
a/n: I was gonna make it gender neutral but you specifically wanted the reader to be older and honorifics are a thing and yeah I’m sorry if you wanted this written differently dkjfhkds
“Sannie, it’s time to wake up.”
“San, you need to have real lunch, not chips.”
“San, don’t do that, you’ll hurt yourself.”
“San, get off of Mingi.”
Sometimes, you were amazed by how obvious it was that you were older than San. Yeosang often teased you by asking if you were his girlfriend or his mother, but you liked looking out for San. If you didn’t, you wouldn’t have agreed to be his girlfriend in the first place.
San was pretty childish about half the time. He loved to goof off and laugh and smile, and he knew that most of his immature antics made you laugh, too. The thing he always wanted to do was make you laugh, anyway. So you adored him how he was.
Even if getting him out of bed in the morning was a task and a half.
“Say good morning to Shiber, too,” he insisted in his gravely, sleepy voice as he rolled over to face you, holding his plushy in his hands.
You sighed even though he did this almost every morning you got to wake up beside him.
“Good morning, Shiber,” you said before pressing a kiss to the dog’s nose.
“Noona, what about me?” he whined.
You leaned in and gave your boyfriend a quick kiss as well, one of his arms draping over you before he suddenly rolled on top of you, effectively pinning you beneath him.
“Alright,” he yawned, “five more minutes.”
“No, San,” you groaned, trying to push him off with no luck, “now!”
“Four more minutes.”
“Sannie, you’re gonna be late!”
“Three more minutes.”
“How fast will I get you to zero more minutes?” you sighed.
San paused before replying, “Eight more minutes.”
His face nuzzled into the crook of your neck as you groaned louder, just letting yourself go limp underneath him. You swore, trying to get San up to do schedules was about as easy as waking up a child for school -- it just wouldn’t happen on time.
But if any of the members came looking for San and they found you in this position, you wouldn’t hear the end of it.
If staff came looking for him...
Oh god.
“Choi San, you get up right now!” you huffed, managing to push him off now that he wasn’t trying to stay on top of you.
San let out a surprised yelp as he almost rolled off the bed and onto the floor.
You crawled off the bed and went around to pull San up. He whined as he got to his feet, rubbing one eye sleepily as you started to drag him out of the room.
“You need to get to the studio to get into wardrobe and stuff,” you told him. “You have another stage this morning, remember?”
“Yeah, but sleep is more important, noona,” he insisted, trailing behind you as you walked him through the dorms by his hand.
“If you hurry it up, I can make you a quick breakfast before you leave,” you promised.
That had San racing ahead of you to the kitchen like the excited puppy he was. You chuckled, shaking your head as you went to join him.
Seonghwa was in the kitchen making cereal for himself as San sat at the table. You went to the fridge to grab ingredients for pancakes while San watched, bouncing in his seat.
“Wow, this must be a new record,” Seonghwa chuckled, noting how early you’d gotten San out of bed. “Good job, _____.”
“It’s only because the baby wanted breakfast,” you chuckled, putting the ingredients on the counter before you started to heat a pan on the stove.
“I’m not a baby!” San huffed from the table, but the pout he gave you was very baby-like.
“You are a baby,” you nodded as you began mixing together the pancake batter, “my baby.”
To that, San couldn’t help but smile proudly, showing off his dimples.
-
San stood behind you in the dressing room, his arms wrapped around your waist with his chin resting on your shoulder. Clinging to you was the only way that he would stay put and not go bugging the members or the staff. You really were the only thing that could keep him somewhat calm.
“Can I have some water?” Yunho spoke up above the soft chatter of both the group and the staff.
“Me too!” Jongho raised his hand.
“And me,” Yeosang added.
Since the staff were all busy making sure the group was ready for their stage, they asked you to go get some water. You were more than happy to do so. You had free roam when it came to being backstage because there weren’t any fans around to see you and wonder who you were with and what you were doing -- your relationship still had to be kept a secret to the public but since you were an idol under the same company, it wasn’t odd for you to be backstage at a music show -- you could easily help out and give the staff a hand.
You pried your boyfriend’s hands away from you so you could step away.
“I’ll be right back,” you promised before sternly saying, “Behave yourself while I’m gone.”
Of course, by the time you walked to the door, he was already yelling with Mingi.
You made your way down the hall to the table where they kept snacks and beverages, grabbing waters in your arms until you felt a presence beside you. Like usual, you kept to yourself and just did what you had to do as quickly as possible, but then the person spoke to you.
“Hello,” a deep voice greeted you.
You turned to look at the smiling face of Wonwoo from Seventeen. You knew of him -- everybody knew of Seventeen -- but you had never met him before.
“Hello,” you said with a polite bow.
“You’re _____, right?” he asked, somehow looking both smug and shy at the same time. “I’m a big fan of yours.”
“Aw, thank you!” you smiled, a soft blush coming to your cheeks because a senior thought you were good. “I think Seventeen is pretty great, too!”
“Are you performing? I’d love to see your performance.”
“No, I’m just here to cheer on Ateez.”
“Oh. Well, maybe I could catch a performance of yours sometime?”
Since you were gone for so long and the staff were starting to get annoyed with San, they sent him off to find you. So you were unaware that he was standing a few feet behind you, watching the scene in front of him. He felt jealousy bubbling inside him seeing the way Wonwoo looked at you, and he especially didn’t like that Wonwoo was trying to ask if he could see you again.
You opened your mouth to reply, but it wasn’t your voice that you heard.
“Hello,” your boyfriend’s familiar voice said from beside you. You looked up at him in surprise as he straightened up from his bow and put an arm around your waist and looked down at you. “I see you’re making friends on your little water trip.”
“Are you one of the Ateez members?” Wonwoo asked with a polite smile. “You’re lucky to have a cheerleader with you.”
“Well, I’d hoped she’d be cheering for us,” San chuckled, “she’s my girlfriend.”
You saw realization in Wonwoo’s eyes as that sentence sunk in. It made San smirk slightly, gripping your waist a little tighter. You, however, didn’t think much of it. Not a lot of people knew you were dating San even though you were pretty open about it around other idols. Instead, you were more worried about if San had snuck out of the dressing room or not.
“Sannie, why’re you--”
“Ah, don’t worry about it, baby,” he quickly shushed you, speaking to you how you’d probably speak to him normally. You suddenly felt like the younger one between the two of you the way he spoke to you almost like he was speaking to a child that was going to talk back to him. “Do you need help carrying those waters? Here, give them to me.”
“But I can carry them,” you said softly as San took them from your hands anyway.
He bowed to Wonwoo and told him to do well on stage before he gestured with his head for you to follow him, “C’mon, _____ -- we should get back before they wonder where we went.”
“O-okay,” you nodded, looking back and Wonwoo and bowing as a goodbye before rushing to catch up with your boyfriend. When you were far enough away from Wonwoo, you frowned slightly. “What was that? Where did you come from?”
“He was flirting with you,” San stated, keeping his eyes looking straight ahead.
“He was not!”
“Baby, you’re just oblivious.”
You let out a small huff, “I am not!”
He chuckled, playfully rolling his eyes before he looked down at you, “Well, whether he was flirting or not, I wanted him to know that the amazing little ‘cheerleader’ is my baby.”
To that, you couldn’t help but blush and smile a bit before going back into the dressing room.
