#I want someone to bulk buy some fun patterned towels or a big stack of dark coloured ones

I don't know if you want a legit answer or just wanted to voice frustration, but various ones I've received from set people are:
- colour theory: white is clean, sterile, fits into the aesthetics of most current trends, represents innocence. It can also signify wealth (aka I have the budget to keep my towels white, no matter what I'm wiping them on)
- Most productions are renting them from a company, and that company likely got them from a more expensive production. If you look at the last two decades, all the large cost productions would have white towels for either wealth, shock (superhero bloody towels in movies, the rise in cop and murder shows on tv, etc), or prominent colour theory points
- Sad Beige Mom aesthetics have been Thee Housing Decor Choice™️ for close to a decade in the US (and that radiates out to everyone else eventually)
- - When buying bulk, go with what's available, so if costco says it has 200 white towels, we're ordering 200 white towels
Why are white towels so often used in movies like I know the existence of periods is largely ignored in media but like bro! You’re inevitably gonna get pussy blood on that and you will never get it out
#There's likely more reasons#this is from me at work asking the people on set to their face#and expensive productions drive film spending#But also blood in movies isn't real blood so you can bleach it out of white towels#so it doesn't have to adhere to real life rules#which is irritating to me too#I want someone to bulk buy some fun patterned towels or a big stack of dark coloured ones#Or at least make white towels realistically dingy in the right curcumstances
