Untangle Me:Louis finds himself out of place in LA, unable to get at an itch that’s been bothering him for years. He supposes back in the early days, home hadn’t been a place. It’d been a person. He’d etched it permanently into his skin for fucks sake.It was always him and Harry. Stuck to each other like super glue. Pulled together by some magnetic force, existing in their own bubble. Everyone could see it, but that was half the problem, wasn’t it? (honestly one of my all time favourites, it’s very emotion-focused and it tears at your heart, but it’s also soft)

Run away home: louis is a successful jockey down on his luck, struggling to get his life back on track after an injury. harry has a horse, a house fit for a prince, and a broken heart. it takes them a while to figure out that they need each other. (a must-read if you like horses, I promise, it takes you right back to being around horses and it’s wonderful)

The Mighty Fall:  Harry accidentally becomes the captain of a rare dragon, Louis is assigned to train her, and dragon racing is a popular sport. (girl direction with an exciting plot and hate to love and it’s so so good)

Atlast at Last:  He doesn’t know what he had been expecting out of the road trip itself besides burping contests and too much shitty gas station food with Oli and Stan, but in the brief moment before Harry ambles up his driveway, Louis idly wonders if this is about to become some sort of Gay Coming of Age story. Maine to California in ten days. In which Zayn’s an open-shirt hippie they meet somewhere in Ohio, Liam’s the pastor’s son running away from home, and Niall’s the number they call on the bathroom wall. It’s 1978. Harry and Louis are just trying to get to San Fran in time for the Queen concert. (so!!! so!!! funny and heart-warming and good. disclaimer that some find the ending quite abrupt)

Fixated on One Star:  Louis is just a boy with the world on his shoulders, and Harry's just a boy from the wrong side of the galaxy. A little thing like love doesn't stand a chance against a thousand years of war, at least until the right two come along to break the mold.Or: space Romeo and Juliet, minus all the suicide. (you hardly have to be into sci-fi for this, I’d say, it’s so sweet and new and the whole friendship that arises is brilliant as well)

Paint me in a Million Dreams: Harry's one of Hollywood's biggest actors, has made a name for himself in prestigious films and lives the life of a superstar. There's just one thing missing to make it picture-perfect, but the one Harry's in love with is completely out of reach for him. Enter Louis, one of Hollywood's biggest actors himself, who just came out of the closet and taps new genres in the industry. When Louis sacks the role Harry auditioned for in Scorsese's next big film, their irrational feud starts. Who could have guessed it would get even worse when for promo season, their teams decide to present them as a couple for publicity? (sooo good, the tension is amazing, as is the plot, and it’s an exciting take on two prompts we all love, hate-to-love and fake-dating)

Another Hazy May:  louis is a terrible poet and harry lives in the now and they have six weeks to fall in love but, really, it only takes six seconds. bookshop meets military meets summer romance au ft. marlboros, the backstreet boys, and underrated literary devices. (the writing is unlike any you’ve ever read before, it’s funny and heartbreaking and clever)

Finding Lou: Louis is the nomadic stranger who wanders into Harry’s bookstore. Harry is the skeptic who falls for him. (it’s original and thoughtful and wonderful)

Wild and Unruly: Harry is a cowboy sitting on the biggest oil reservoir in Wyoming, and Louis is the paralegal assigned to pressure him into selling his land. (with the setting being at the ranch you really feel as if you’re there. I especially love the small details of Louis’ character and the way his and Harry’s relationship develops. it’s really original and good)

These Inconveniet Fireworks: Future AU in which nobody tries out for X Factor but the boys end up finding one other eventually anyway. Louis is a jaded bastard who owns a cat named Duchess and teaches drama to teenagers, Harry is an idealistic aspiring photographer/part-time footy coach, Zayn teaches English lit and wears leather jackets, Liam saves people from burning buildings, and Niall is Niall. (The Classic, tbh. the link goes to a pdf file, since it’s not on ao3. it’s just so good. it does deal with depression, so be careful, please! It’s also completely hilarious, especially Zayn)
