The primary pollutants are Particulate Matter (PM2.5) and Tropospheric (ground level) Ozone.

You DO NOT want PM in your lungs!!! It will literally never leave and can cause lung cancer! PM2.5 is so small that it can even get into your bloodstream.

Ozone is caustic (will burn your eyes, throat, lungs, etc). It can also cause coughing and pain when breathing.

Both PM and Ozone irritate airways & eyes, and cause breathing difficulties.

PM is causing the soot, Ozone is causing the smog.

Wear a mask, protect yourself.

(Also, a cloth mask is not actually effective - the particles will just go straight through. Please wear an N95, KN95, or other form of respirator mask)
