Random musing…
… But I feel compelled to say that while I am super into the idea of Horobi being involved in restoring Izu(’s memory, if I get into my opinions about that situation, I’ll get salty, but not for the reasons you might think), I don’t think it should have anything to do w/ Aruto.
Horobi has always been very HumaGear oriented. I feel like it would be a weird break for him to bring Izu back just to make Aruto feel better, I think it should be very clear he’s doing it ‘for’ her, as in, bc he doesn’t like/regrets that the situation resulted in her being destroyed, so he’s trying to do something to make it better bc she deserves to be alive, not for bc Aruto was hurt. Basically, bringing back Izu just bc Aruto was upset, as an ‘apology’ to Aruto, would… I don’t think it would sit well. It’d basically just be going back to the ‘Izu exists solely to serve and support Aruto and her existence revolves around him’ (I am swallowing so much salt right now, you have no idea). Like… I can see that being something humans would do, ‘bring Izu back to make Aruto happy,’ but for Horobi… That doesn’t fit. He may have found out Aruto kind of understood and gotten a bit better at processing situations/emotions, gotten better at sorting himself out, but… For one thing, they don’t seem like they’d magically become best buds after this to start w/, but… I feel like Horobi’s perspective would definitely prioritise Izu over Aruto. He’d be doing it to do right by Izu, not to comfort Aruto. If I’m making sense.
Basically… Horobi has been very vocal on the ‘HumaGear do not exist just for humans’ thing, he’s always been very consistent in prioritising HumaGear. Reducing reviving Izu to ‘apologising to Aruto’ would feel out of character for him. So I’m down w/ the idea of him helping/being the one to revive her, but I would really love it to be something he explicitly does for her sake, not for Aruto’s.
I should also note: there’s been no official/canon indication of this happening. I’m just musing on an idea I’ve mentioned before, about how I think it would be cool/interesting/nice character development for Horobi to bring Izu back.
#Kamen Rider Zero-One#Kamen Rider Zero One#Zero-One Spoilers#Zero One Spoilers#my precious evil stoic scorpion dad#like I have a whole list of salt about why the 'can't be backed up' things was ridiculous#(I'm sorry what did that protect exactly??? Gai didn't seem to have any trouble hijacking the Driver)#but I think it'd be good#but I also don't think it should be centred around Aruto#I think that'd be ooc for Horobi#bc I really don't think he's going to suddenly love Aruto or even humans#like maybe it was bc they were rushed but that writing was super choppy#and I didn't much appreciate the 'it's all my fault' reaction being 'confirmed' bc it was a lot more complicated than that#ultimately Gai is the one responsible#and while w/ Horobi's stunted development courtesy the Ark it makes sense for HIM to face value blame himself#humans should be able to see the nuance#Horobi was used as a weapon#I've said my piece about him being blamed for Soreo's death (that it's ludicrous and stupid)#but for the Izu situation I would've preferred them to lean more on the 'wait she actually DIED?' (bc I don't think that processed for him)#and 'that's what this is? you're having the same feeling it can be controlled? make it hurt less?'#…#I don't think I'm explaining it well and they did honestly give it a little bit I just take issue w/ Horobi being like#'this is all my fault' and not getting reassured that 'it's more complicated than that'#like him thinking that is one thing but the show 'agreeing' is another#it's like the Winter Soldier honestly#a little#at least Bucky was human and had that to fall back on#Horobi literally has no concept of feelings or emotions and that was used as a weapon esp when humans failed on addressing it#so I don't think it should be treated as 'he cold blooded murdered her' anymore than Aruto's second killing of Jin should be#like I want him to do it bc he is/feels partially responsible but it's not simple as that
