“Your man” is Irish slang,
“Another confusing turn of phrase, your man refers to any man - even if you don't know them. The same goes for 'your one', but that refers specifically to a woman. Used frequently to refer to somebody in the context of a story, it's similar to saying 'that guy' or 'that woman'.”
I wouldn’t read anything into Annie saying it she probably didn’t even think about it.
Anon 2: re your tag about Annie Mac. It's Irish for "the guy from One Direction"
Anon 3: hey ralph, annie mac is irish i think yes? if that's the case then 'your man' is probably just her saying 'a man'/'the man that this story is about', rather than her saying 'nick's man' etc. if you google 'your man irish slang' or something similar, you could probably find a better explanation - i just recognise it as an irish-ism because i read a bunch of marian keyes books a few years ago and she used 'your man' in character dialogue. hope this helps! love your blog as always

Thanks for the responses anon - that was exactly the thing I was wondering. In most contexts I know saying 'your man' would suggest that the man was more the man of the person being spoken to than the man of the person speaking. But I wasn't sure if that was the case in an Irish context and it sounds like it's not. Louis Tomlinson is the world's man from 1D, not particularly Nick's man from 1D
#OK but my next lot of podcast thoughts#are from Every Single Album#And whether Jeffrey Azoff is one of the managers of a popstar over 30 that Nathan is talking about what they're doing in this moment#(I think he is)#And what that means for Harry#I think he'll drop his album Spring of next year rather than winter of this and then still tour in the summer#But what it'll mean about how he presents himself#is anyone's guess
