I genuinely love seeing everyone's different takes but I've gotten multiple tags now that assume Hawkeye was involved in gay culture in some way and I am the hard opposite. I think his gay encounters have happened by accident and word of mouth and that's it.

#it's hard to explain why #a big part of it is just the vibe #a smaller but significant part is that he of course wasn't written that way and it's too big a departure from canon for me #I think another part is I'm just not interested in superimposing gay bar culture onto mash #I am interested in that culture but not in this context #I basically won't read fics that have a significant hawkeye+gay culture component because I just don't like it #I'll make exceptions for like. hawkeye runs into frank in a gay bar. because that is hilarious.#mashposting
