#I think I love this system just cuz it's not limited to only elements and you can make it paint themed if you like

it's 6 am (7 as of posting) and I couldn't sleep, so I'm just gonna type out what I'm thinking about. I made a magic system of sorts for some characters of mine that I'd really like to use and expand upon, but I'd already used it for a small minecraft smp server with some friends. I sorta implied the characters that follow that magic system are from the world this smp server takes place in, but also I want to use those characters for other things too? So I'm not entirely sure if I should just steal the lore used in HunniB (thus also involving my friends' lore stuff) or if I should just use the same magic system in multiple worlds and just be like "fuck it, this random unrelated world follows the same rules cuz why not?"
It's not a super complex magic system really, which is why I like it! Anyone that can use magic (without external sources or tools) has a type and a theme: the theme can be anything, ranging from elemental to conceptual and even specific objects and things can make up their theme, but the type determines how it actually works and how it can be used. For example, Victor has a plant themed magic, but its type is considered "death magic" meaning it's capable of draining energy out of its surroundings to add to his own supply. Conversely, life magic creates an overabundance of energy that the user can give away to help things heal and recover faster.
Basically I was thinking about what the other types would be while thinking of a random isekai parody story I could make. I found myself slipping that magic system into this world that's entirely different from HunniB's world and realized that I'm not sure if I should do that or not! Especially if I'm planning on using this system for the world hoppers stuff! At the very least I thought it'd be nice to share the concept itself before I decide on how lazy I wanna be.
As bonus, here's what I'd thought of for the non life and death types:
Conjuration: creates (themed) constructs out of magical energy, much more stable and realistic than other magic types could potentially make
Transformation: changes materials and matter into something else, often used for shapeshifting or turning into some other material temporarily or permanently
Enhancement: strengthens or improves something without changing the base object or material itself, like coating a tool in fire or making something move faster (teleporting counts as nothing is created or destroyed; only moved)
Enchantment: allows the user to transfer magic energy for future use. Considered the most confusing magic type, but it's the stuff that allows magic wands and tombs to exist (like the Nekonomicon itself) and differs by allowing anyone to use the og user's themed magic instead of immediately activating or turning into raw energy like the life and death magic do
I just think it's simple and fun and I like thinking about it :3 especially with how it can be used to explain other characters with specific abilities! Hell, my partner and I practically used this system to explain/retcon how his character Thanases works cuz he wasn't entirely sure how to explain it before? All they knew was that Than's magic was "fucked up" somehow and basically slowly killing him. Since I slipped Niko into the rp for funzies, her explanation with the magic system in mind is that he's somehow disabled, somehow having part of both life magic and conjuration, which means he has an over abundance of pent up energy (bad for his mental state) that intends to heal his injuries and wounds (theoretically good for his physical health) that instead creates real plant matter to fill the gaps (makes his injuries that much worse) and eventually starts replacing parts of him all together in the bad end au to make the "Wooden Than" that we love so much! The implications of a magic disability like this is fascinating to me tbh!
#Honestly this magic system seems so simple to me that it must've been done before#so surely I can be lazy and use it for basically everything I make right? Cuz it's pretty generic!#but at the same time... cat themed enchantment magic creating the nekonomicon... I'm not sure where else you could find that#of course there are other magic books like it! Botonomicon that's plant themed! Nautonomicon for an ocean theme!#you could literally do anything with this setup and I love it too much and I wanna use it so bad!#candy themed enhancement magic; make it sticky! Or maybe smell sweet! Coat it in caramel! Turn someone's aura into cotton candy!#You know as a prank! It doesn't hurt they're just covered in fluffy sugar for a bit! It'll wash off anyway#I think I love this system just cuz it's not limited to only elements and you can make it paint themed if you like#I swear if someone says this system feels generic because it's used everywhere that basically grants me permission to use it everywhere too#Also kinda ironic that a transformation in geometric terms isn't transformation magic huh? I think that's funny

Do you think Alec and Magnus use condoms? How do you think warlocks deal with STD?
REALLY interesting question, i must say that i love it. thank you anon. i hope you know that i will take it way too seriously
okay, so the first question is, ARE magnus and alec susceptible to STDs? unexpected p-words are not a problem because warlocks are sterile anyway (and, if you subscribe to both magnus and alec being of the same AGAB, also because it's not possible to get both gametes or whatever), so let's focus on the STD aspect (really important!). i think human STDs would not affect them, or at least not magnus. maybe alec because shadowhunters are notably more susceptible to weaknesses humans have, like disease and mortality and whatnot. but would human STDs affect warlocks?
i tend to go with no, because warlocks are immortal. immortality, especially as it is built in the sh verse (immortals can be killed but their body won't die on its own) kind of implies that they have, like, supercells or superorgans or something, that don't deteriorate - or, alternatively, that can rebuild way faster than they could be deterioriated. im saying that because stuff like aging and eventually dying is essentially the process in which your body can no longer replace dying cells at the same speed at which they die, which leads to your body weakening as a lot of its functions are impaired. therefore, immortality as in not aging and not dying on your own but still being able to be killed if you are, say, stabbed, implies that that process simply doesn't happen. so we have one of the two: either the cells don't die, or the speed at which they are replaced never changes
in my understanding, this implies that diseases don't affect immortals. maybe they can even contract them, but their body is too strong for it to have an effect. like having a disease without symptoms. but i tend to believe that rather than living with 8945134081 deadly viruses and bacteria inside them just sleeping around, the viruses and bacteria simply can't live inside them - both because superbody means super-immunological system and because superbody means that the bacteria and viruses essentially have no place to grow in, as they can't break their cells or whatever it is that that particular strain does
like - and that is true particularly for viruses as far as i remember, not so much bacteria - the way these mfs work is that they attack the cells of a body and use them to reproduce. but if you are talking about a body that has cells that are essentially unbreakable or so highly regenerative any attack on them is dealt with so quickly it doesn't even have an effect, i don't think any virus should be able to break into their cells in the first place. they would die without reproducing and bam, done. if you are going with the second theory (warlock cells do die, they just can keep replacing them as much as they want without a problem) then you probably have a situation where the virus can reproduce, but its reproduction doesn't lead to any problems because the dead cells are replaced as fast as they are killed. in that case, the warlock would be, technically, carrying the disease indefinitely. but i tend to think that considering how strong that body is and the fact that they have an immunological system (as they are half human and have no reason not to inherit that from their human parents) that is ALSO mega strong would mean these viruses would probably be eliminated quickly
bacterial diseases are different since mostly what bacterias do (again as far as i remember) is that they live inside the body, not necessarily inside the cells, but using the body's space to reproduce, and eventually their presence - usually due to the fact that they produce toxic elements that affect the host - leads to nearby cells dying/the space they are in deteriorating, etc. but again warlock's cells are either essentially unbreakable or highly regenerative, so that wouldn't be a problem, and they could overpower invasive bacteria easily before a colony could form. so, no human bacterial diseases would be able to flourish, either
and that's not even considering the fact that as they are half human they probably have an immunological system that is ALSO superstrong and therefore able to fuck up any disease causers. or the role magic might take in protecting the body, like, who's to say the magic itself doesn't kill any invasive bacteria or viruses that come into the body before it can do anything? why not?
so all of that, allied with the fact that many viruses and bacteria are evolved to develop within the systems of a particular species (for example, that particular virus has evolved to grow in a cow's digestive system, and therefore can't survive for long in a monkey's or a human's), is interpreted by me as "warlocks can't contract human diseases", since warlocks are a different species from humans, as are shadowhunters. sure, they're hybrids, which makes this part of the argument a little more complicated but obviously their demon side is stronger than their human side, since they are immortal. and demons definitely aren't getting rabies or whatever because that is just too fucking lame
so okay! no human STDs. we have established that now. bUT, i think it's possible that warlocks are able to contract their OWN diseases - strains that attack warlocks specifically, particularly a warlock's magic, since again they kind of have a superbody but i feel like the magic is a more fragile thing, especially as they aren't fully magical (because they're half human)
don't ask me how these work <3 obviously magic can interact with non-magical beings and elements so maybe there are bacteria are viruses that developed specifically to settle in magical components, but that sounds like a huge evolutive leap since magic is so different from like, cells. or maybe there are also magical beings that work as disease transmitters in a similar but essentially different way. and they probably can also be transmitted via sex because i mean, why not? sounds as good a mean as any
but, could magnus and alec transmit those to each other? i don't think so, because shadowhunters have wildly different magic from the one warlocks do - their magic is angel magic, warlock's is demon magic, AND, furthermore, they work in completely different ways. for starters, shadowhunters magic is so pathetic diluted that some of them don't even consider it magic at all. i mean, that is also because of good ole racism (hardly the first time racism led people to call the exact same thing by different names so they can convince themselves their way of being is superior even when it is the same) but there is a huge difference because warlocks are able to conjure and interact with magic and have it as a part of their beings and experience of the world through it, whereas shadowhunters can "borrow" particular powers for a small period of time at best. it is possible that the magic doesn't even exist within them, they are just capable of handling it inside their bodies for some time, which is why they need runes to use it and it has a limited effect
so i think diseases that affect warlocks could not be passed between magnus and alec, and WOW is it weird to realize that magnus and alec are of different species. like i knew that but when that knowledge comes to practice it's just so weird. anyway
and idk if diseases that affect warlocks would be able to live dormant inside shadowhunters and then be transmitted because, like i said, shadowhunters have completely different magic if they even have it at all, and i don't think the disease beings that live in warlock magic would be able to be inside their body. so, to answer your first question - i don't think magnus and alec would NEED condoms, because i don't think they are capable of passing STDs to each other, and in at the very least magnus' case (debatable for alec, i tend to think that because shadowhunters are essentially human they can catch any disease humans can, altho maybe they have a rune to begone them) i don't think they can even catch human STDs. and magnus has a cum kink so that probably means no condoms
as for how warlocks deal with STDs! like i said i think they are only affected by STDs (and diseases in general) that affect their magic, not their body. so, they probably have treatments for those. we gotta remember that warlocks have a very developed society full of academics, so they probably have worked to find cures for magical diseases, if they exist at all. so, there are probably particular treatments for those. i don't think magical diseases abound or anything, particularly because the amount of magical beings is pretty limited and magic is so different from non-magical elements so non-magical beings such as viruses and bacteria would have to change a lot to be able to evolve into magic-affecting beings. again, if they even exist. but yeah i think they as a (group of) society(ies) have worked on cures for those. which is funny to think about because like, do they blast the magical diseases with begone rays or something? please say yes. id love that
with all of that being said, i hope u know that i was planning on answering asks the next weekend (not this one, the other one) cuz ive been busy as hell lately and it'll be the first time i'll have time lmao, and i was literally just in a bathroom break between readings when i saw this ask and i just couldn't resist answering it. this is it. what broke my studying resolve. magical STDs. you should be proud
mandatory disclaimer that please for the love of god use condoms, you are not immune to STDs. also, this post is about show canon, not book canon, so i don't care if this is in accordance to what the books say. also, i'm no expert in healthcare, this post is just for fun, so don't take anything i used to build my arguments as scientific truth or anything like that
#sh#shadowhunters#magnus bane#alec lightwood#dirty words#hello everyone! i have been gone for quite some time. please accept: this#now back to studying#lore#meta#ask#anonymous#long post#im not sure if this is very comprehensible but i did my best

Oracle of the White Rabbit
I was recently quite excited to learn about the newest Matrix movie, which was kind of weird for me, as I haven't been much into tv & movies for quite a while now. To my surprise, it was the soundtrack to the preview that immediately captured my attention - almost more then the preview itself... and then it got stuck in my head - for DAYS, on repeat.
**Cue the Morpheus voiceover: "What you know you can't explain, but you feel it.... You don't know WHAT it is, but it's there - like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad."** Yeah, that song was dead set on getting my attention.
When I finally got rid of it, I started realizing a few days later that I understood it beyond the surface meaning; and basically, I decoded the story that it was telling - it turns out to be all about right NOW. Is it prophetic? Subconscious social engineering? Quantum entanglement between the life and the art, so that they mirror and reflect each other? Who knows...
It appears to me to be a sort of trigger, or a reminder of what to do when the time comes, of what you NEED to do - and yes, I realize that this sounds very MK ultra secret agent-y; but it is what it is. I assumed it was probably just a message for me, but then I had 2 separate YouTuber's basically confirm the message in their own unique way, and then supplied additional info that is... quite compelling and pertinent to keep in mind, and utilize. So I'll link those two vids below the song decoding portion, but please watch them as they have some VERY helpful info in them - especially the 2nd half of Naughty Beav's vid, the Alba Weinman part. Anyways, here's the song with lyrics, and the decode I got for it:
https://youtu.be/YE3ZXm92CJ0
Preface: The story overall is describing the multidimensional aspects of the human being, and how certain "controllers" have manipulated the general population into thinking that we are only ONE SINGLE aspect (i.e. this linear 3D realm template of a human) of our various extended selves - and have waged war (and still are) to maintain that control over us to keep their positions power.
Song: White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane
ONE PILL MAKES YOU LARGER AND ONE PILL MAKES YOU SMALL These “pills” are alternate dimensional perspectives - the actual embodiment of them from a larger and smaller POV - Annunaki are generally around 10-16 feet tall, and the Fae are considered to be tiny little elemental beings; BOTH sizes make you visit WONDERLAND though! You can SEE & FEEL that there is MORE beyond just this vessel and life viewpoint, more to YOU that goes on to other places where this particular body-ego cannot. AND THE ONES (pills) THAT MOTHER GIVES YOU DON'T DO ANYTHING AT ALL The world perspectives and programs installed in our parents are for a different agenda, time and place - they've since expired and are therefore useless to us... those POV's just don't do anything, except stagnate you. GO ASK ALICE (<your inner child, direct connection to Source Creator) WHEN SHE'S 10 FEET TALL (<in her Annunaki 5th dimensional or above form) Oh yeah, I'd LOVE to see you try and argue those belief systems with THAT version of her/YOU, that'll be fun! Good luck with that, BwahahaaHaahaaa!!!
AND IF YOU GO CHASING RABBITS This "You" ISN'T YOU - it's a hypothetical scenario. As in: If YOU were part of a group of dark, nefarious beings, who CAN'T timeline jump to higher realms on their own, but wanted to... wouldn't YOU chase those 'rabbits', to sneak in after them, (or somehow piggyback on them) to go thru the (portals) tunnels that they naturally create? Well... wouldn't you?!!! AND YOU KNOW YOU'RE GOING TO FALL These beings know their time is limited; as the energetic frequencies of the earth raises - LITERALLY - we have to ELEVATE with Earth (or die, as it’s not compatible); but they can only FALL since they cannot follow us - their heavier energies & choices aligned with that vibe basically anchor them down. When the Earth sheds those lower energies, they appear to “fall’ - Earth rides a sine wave up and down in a continuous cycle; right now the rollercoaster is ascending. TELL 'EM A HOOKAH SMOKING CATERPILLER HAS GIVEN YOU THE CALL Say it with me: COVER STORY!!! So just tell them that you've contacted extraterrestrials, or "Ashtar Command" in a higher dimension, who relays "guidance" to you while you're in a channeling state of mind... exchange your religious/guru worship programming (it’s SO last year) for an unvetted channeled source to worship and obey blindly instead. Pick your poison, ‘cuz dying is fun (whether that be literal, spiritual or otherwise).FYI: I am anti-establishment regarding religions; your connection to Source Creator is meant to be direct & personal, always growing - those outside things are GUIDEPOSTS for consideration and participation when you deem it useful. Not necessary, though, and CERTAINLY not mandatory... they can be helpful though, nevertheless. CALL ALICE WHEN SHE WAS JUST SMALL No doubt they WOULD try to contact you while you were young and vulnerable (and they might have already) - train a child up in the way they should go, and all that. It applies whether it be physically done or in the astral/dream state - it's also prime alien abduction time, in both cases, too: it happens most often around the 3-10 years old timeframe, generally. **Alternatively, this could mean that YOU need to recall your inner child/younger self, when you were more pure - and RECONNECT to (the true you, prior to life’s enforced programming) yourself from there, as a means of counteracting and recognizing any false “messages of light”.**
WHEN THE MEN ON THE CHESSBOARD This is the Masonic, Illuminati and other controller group factions (alphabet agencies included) - The chessboard is primarily associated with the Masonic lodges, though, like the ladder - it's their way of bypassing the middle path (opening the 3rd eye, spiritually evolving through kundalini awakening and such), but still attempting to climb up to 'higher planes'... through magickal rituals and workings of one sort or another, I think. The Sun and Moon pillars are on either side, the battle of fire and Ice. THEY are the ones that "play the game" with humanity, as it were, and “set the stage” on the gameboard in many ways.
It’s like this in their art and iconography...
But it’s like THIS in the physical body structure, see:
Side Note: I learned this and wrote it down/drew it up by watching and following Lavette's channel on YouTube - her channel is under this (her real) name, so if you want to understand & decode the esoteric symbology and all that, check her out, she has a wealth of knowledge to share... it's great stuff!!!
Anyways, moving on with the decode...
>> when the men on the chessboard << GET UP AND TELL YOU WHERE TO GO Or where you CAN'T go, or things you can’t go DO - lockdowns, anyone? AND YOU'VE JUST EATEN SOME KIND OF MUSHROOM Or taken some kind of drug, to check out (with alcohol, pharmaceuticals) as a means of coping; or perhaps just a medically coerced and/or forced untested injectable... that shall remain unnamed. (a la Voldemorte) AND YOUR MIND IS MOVING LOW Because your consciousness and/or interdimensional capacities are capped, having been anchored down into lower frequencies due to your choices. ASK ALICE I THINK SHE'LL KNOW Ask your inner child/spiritual connection WHAT TO DO
WHEN LOGIC AND PROPORTION HAVE FALLEN SLOPPY DEAD That's RIGHT NOW, with the media, the actions of the government, corporations & the alphabet agencies - everything from them is WAY out of proportion, (they're self contradicting) and illogical... it's “fallen sloppy dead” is about as literal of a description as you can get. AND THE WHITE KNIGHT IS TALKING BACKWARDS Is this Biden? Maybe Trump? Could be whomever you deem to be our hero, or fixate on as a knight "in shining armor" charging to our rescue, I suppose. AND THE RED QUEEN'S "OFF WITH HER (THEIR) HEAD!!!" The red queen is the sentient A.I. computer located under the airport in Colorado from what I understand... so this could be indicating the weather warfare or DEW, the internet consciousness battlefront, or a whole host of other things that could be directed by that (besides the jabs), which seeks to kill off a great swath of humanity. The Red Queen could also be a means to direct the jib-jabbed peoples like zombies when they're "turned on" like antennas, once the graphene in the injectables does its work. It would certainly explain all the “zombie apocalypse” protocols and policies that have been made by certain corporations and agencies - all of which was done in a serious manner... so here’s that.
So, now THIS is where it gets interesting (for me, anyways).
Every. Single. Time. That I hear this next verse, I hear it spoken a DIFFERENT way, like a glitch that simultaneously layers a different version on top of the other one, so that they are both communicated at once. This is the 'secret key', the ANSWER - remember, this part of the song says: When this & that happens, and when this person and that ‘person’ are acting THIS WAY - THEN:
REMEMBER WHAT THE DORMOUSE SAYS Dormouse - a tiny squirrel-like mouse, that is rather famous for being able to HIBERNATE for EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME - sometimes 6 months of the year, or more, if the temperatures stay cold enough. The lower the frequency, the cooler the temperature, usually. (The Sleeper MUST Awaken! ~ Dune) << This word - Dormouse - transforms into DHARMA. So the verse: "Remember what the Dormouse said" turns into "Remember what the DHARMA SAYS". For more on dharma, see here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dharma
The dormouse speaks of the head - waking up and remembering mentally; but when it morphs into dharma, it speaks of the heart waking up; and returning to it’s inherent wisdom, returning to the spirit-soul self. So that is the key message that keeps coming thru on this:
Remember what the dormouse/dharma Says: FEED YOUR HEAD-HEART CONNECTION (and stack your dharma)!!! Spiritual GAINS, baby!
The final verse is repeated twice; I believe this indicates that the areas to apply it to are your outward actions here in the outer world, and your inner realm locals: your thoughts and feelings. FEED the CONNECTION on each level, to be and do good, and to stand up in integrity and defend that sacred space on EACH LEVEL whenever it's needed. The mind-heart connection and coherence part is actually mentioned specifically in The Naughty Beaver video linked below, too... but there will undoubtedly be internal emotional and mental attacks that only you can recognize and shield against, or fight back against to maintain your inner calm and wholeness of spirit. The stronger the mind-heart coherence is, though, the higher you vibe naturally; so it grants you a certain level of protection automatically - I feel that's why they push the jab-berwocky so hard through social/economic pressure, and emotional guilt and gaslighting; to block that potential before you ever reach it, so you can still be "hacked", or locked down, energetically.
Feed your head = higher mind = higher perspective. Maintain THAT, then ACT FROM THERE. (Faith without works is dead, yo) See the other two vids below, and thank you for reading thus far. You/We’ve got this - Be Excellent to (yourself and) Each Other... and Party On!

thoughts on blackpink: light up the sky netflix doc
- lisa in particular uses the highest loudest pitched baby voice ive ever heard which contrasts a lot to the voice she uses when she raps and even when she speaks english
- the amount of men (aka all grown ass men) in the room when these ladies who were literally teenagers watching them dance (suggestively) and critiquing them
- the fucken ABC grading system like what we do in school for all the trainees
- every single one was of them was like i love to dance/sing and/or play musical instruments as a kid but also like every kid sung and danced cuz thats just a past time that children like lol
- lisa’s grasps of languages is to die for. she speaks thai (native), korean and english pretty much fluently. she didnt even know korean in the beginning and had to learn it. her english has only a tiny accent but she truly can speak it. i wish i could do that!!!😭
- just that these girls who were like 14 ish when they had to leave their families and start a new life in a new country, learn dances/songs in the most intense way, and guided by money hungry strangers??? they spent their formative years being told what to eat, what to wear, how to channel their stage presence (sometimes really suggestively), made to perform for groups of men, compete against one another, and doing it for the HOPE of making it?? like hows that ok??? imagine the girls who didn’t make it?? like i hope they are all ok.
- their hairstyles as kids is so similar to the hairstyle i had when i was young haha but i think its just the limit of having textureless, straight, black hair. literally everyone swoosh their hair to the sideway part haha
- jisoo is so fucken mature and like handles everything w such grace. also they keep making her sound like shes so goddamn old when shes literally just 24 (like me!!!) she definitely doesn’t talk in a baby voice or like act super childish compared to the rest of the group tho and i decided i vibe w her the most. shes so calm and collected and takes everything seriously. a quiet intensity i think. love that for her.
- that teddy fella is really chill (and should help them produce more music!!!!!!!!)
- rosé is such a perfectionist and super relatable when she says she struggles w showing her work unless it was *absolutely* perfect. she literally hides everything until its right (although she still hasn’t released anything yet) and thats literally what i do haha i create fake accs/hidden folders of work i do because i am not ready for the feedback esp if its bad
- theyre all literally just in their early twenties i feel like they lived through so much :(
- the intensity that is performing at coachella. that was such a moment cuz american audiences are crazy and also super intense about their music and what they like. they were right that performing at coachella isnt like performing at their concerts-- coachella audience is a mixed bunch and dont have the same understanding as folks who love kpop and know the ~vibe~. im so glad we got to see the prep and the moment they got on stage. they killed it the first weekend but the second weekend was a bit less than best imo (i watched the livestream it cuz i was hella excited!!! i legit wanted to buy tickets haha but saw they were +$1k excluding food/travel/hotel 😭)
- they all live together!! their house is huge and cute af. some of my fav moments is cooking w my roommates back in college and seeing the ladies cook together and sharing meals is such a joy to watch 😌
- jennie speaking english to jisoo so jisoo can learn more organically
- jennie seems the most sad out of all of them. must have been tough growing up with only her mom in new zealand and then mostly by herself afterwards (with a host family) and then making the move to korea again and living away from home AGAIN. those things all happened to her as a child 😥
- jennie saying her fitness trainer is “one of the few friends that i have” oof
- my critique for yg is that they are treating them like marketing tools rather than musicians. they collab w so many luxury brands and do so many appearances/shows and are trying to break into the american music market which is fine but i wish that at its core its the music. maybe thats just kpop now and within kpop its the marketing element that is meant to sell and be sold and the music and dancing element is just that getaway drug.
anyways, this was a good doc to watch and i enjoyed it. its nice seeing so much behind the scene and seeing them grow and evolve to what we know of them today.

One For All Users Theory
My theories on the mystery users of One for All. Major spoilers for the manga...so make sure you're caught up. You have been warned.
For those still curious, the somewhat spoiler free TLDR of what I have written here: The naming system of One For All users appears to follow the trend of having each user's name have something to do with their number. We only know four of their names so far and have been led to believe that their name-number thing is tied to the number of user they are/were. While reading that tidbit I realized that "Katsuki" is homonyms with "victory", which lead me to thinking "first place"...so..."first user...that One For All was passed onto...so technically the second user"...and that "Eijiro" when written with the right kanji means "Second son"...so...second person the Quirk was passed onto? So...maybe this lends some weight to the theory that Bakugo Katsuki and Kirishima Eijiro are our mystery previous users? Building on that theory, I suggest a potential explanation for All Might's Muscle form.
A while back I found a few theories online floating around that Bakugo Katsuki and Kirishima Eijiro are the second and third users of One For All, respectively. The silhouette for the spiky-haired dude definitely seems like a dead ringer for Katsuki.
I thought this theory was kind of ridiculous because a true time-travel Quirk has yet to be established in HeroAca. The theories that I found insisting that it was so all linked it to Eri--that Eri's Rewind somehow sent Katsuki back in time all the way to the point of the first user. Personally, I think that claiming Rewind can do that is a stretch. The only victim of Eri's Quirk that we know of that was rewound out of their present existence was her father, and we have no idea what actually became of him. Some claim that she basically rewound his body to the point where he deaged into inexistence. Eri's Quirk is still largely unexplored, but based on the way it was used in the battle against Overhaul I don't think there's enough evidence to claim that Eri's Quirk could send someone back in time. At present, it appears to only have an effect on a single individual's cells and/or molecular structure. She appears to be able to make damage to living cells reverse themselves. De-aging would fall under that, 'cuz some people would consider aging basically gradual cell death...so it's possible that is what happened to her father. Potentially, he had no injuries and was far too intrigued or shocked to get out of range--he was an adult, he should have had time to get out of range before vanishing into nothingness. Unless, of course, Eri's Quirk awakening happened like Tenko's and she goes through a similar subconscious suppression of her Quirk due to trauma. It's possible she could de-age a person out of existence in an instant, but after doing it to her dad the trauma caused her to keep a lid on it...hence why Izuku had time to think and realize what was going on with his body and that he'd have to damage his body fast enough to keep up with Eri's Quirk. I don't see any hints that Eri's Rewind has elements of time travel though. If she's capable of it, then our best bet would be to question what actually happened to her father--were his cells simply rewound to the point that he no longer existed (rapid de-aging), or was he maybe transported to a different era? It's possible, but it's currently unexplored in canon.
Ultimately, I think that until we get some more facts it's too soon to claim that Eri will send Bakugo and Eijiro to the past. How they get to the past isn't what I want to theorize on tonight...but on *why* it's probable they could become the mystery users.
We all know that Horikoshi loves meaningful names and that each One For All user appears to follow a naming rule where their names have some connection to which number of user they are with the Quirk. Izuku's "ku" is homophones with nine, Yagi's got an eight in his surname, Nana is homophones with seven, etc. That would imply that the unknown users should have "two" and "three" in their names somewhere, since they are the second and third users of One For All. It's another stretch, but what if the first user was "Zero" and the mystery users became "One" and "Two"...being the first and second users to have One For All passed on to them (after all, in the original user would it be called One For All if it's just the power-stocking quirk coupled with the ability to pass on quirks?) It gains the "one for all" moniker because it's passed on. Also, if we're screwing with time, having the numerical naming order be disrupted seems a bit poetic--it shows in the names that something messed up as far back as the 2nd user if his name bears allusions to "one" or "first".
After reading the bit about the users names again recently, something began to bug me--especially with the silhouette of one of the users being a dead ringer for a Katsuki look-alike. Katsuki can mean victory--which made me think of 'first place'. Eijiro, with the right kanji, can sometimes mean "second son" as a name--"second person to inherit the quirk (technically third user)"? This would definitely create an odd naming system for sure and a number would end up being missing from the names. However, it could be possible. In Asian cultures 8 is seen as a lucky number and fours are considered unlucky. It's possible that "four" could be skipped entirely, having All For One's brother be "zero", Katsuki being "First/one", Eijiro being "second/two", and the unknown fourth user being named with "third/three", skipping four entirely and we get Banjo Daigoro (Black Whip) as our confirmed fifth user ("go" in his name is homonyms with five), the dark-haired dude as our sixth user, Nana at seventh, All Might at eight, and finally our nineth as Izuku/Deku. Fours are already taken anyway--All For One claims that "Shigaraki" was his own name...and that he gave it to Tenko/Tomura for that reason. "Shi" is homonyms with "death" as well as one way to say "four" in Japanese (the other being "yon"). Maybe the One For All users won't invoke four because it's the name of their fated enemy.
It's definitely a stretch dependent on whether or not Horikoshi is superstitious about fours or whether or not it'll be a factor in the naming system at all or whatever. Also, this names theory only means anything if we're willing to accept the possibility that Katsuki and Eijiro are the mystery users.
Another thing I wonder as part of this theory has to do with Eijiro's Hardening Quirk being within One For All.
All Might claims that he was Quirkless, and now that the embers of One For All have left him, he should be completely Quirkless...but he's still shown the ability to turn into his muscle-form...and it's acknowledged by the characters as his muscle form, so that makes me think that it's actually happening in the world of the story and that it's not just a gag for the readers. Muscle-form looks like a Quirk to me...so...if Toshinori was Quirkless and One For All has left him...then where did muscle-form come from and why does he still have the ability to change into it--no matter how briefly?
My theory on muscle-form is that it's Kirishima Eijiro's Hardening Quirk (assuming we accept the fact that Eijiro is one of the past users of One For All)--that Toshinori drew on the stored Quirk without knowing it...and that even if the embers of One For All are truly gone from him...somehow that last bit of it stayed with him. After all, it's different from all of the other Quirks we know of within One For All. Hardening is a transformation type Quirk--the results are temporary. Black Whip, Float, and whatever happens when Izuku taps into One For all, Full Cowling and any SMASH! moves--all of those appear to be emission-type Quirks. Perhaps Transformation-type Quirks linger or merge with the very cells of the user...and thus don't entirely leave even when the embers are gone? My theory on why Hardening looks different on All Might than it looks on Eijiro can be explained by Monoma's explanation of his copy ability and "blanks".
Monoma could copy Fatgum's Quirk, but it wouldn't function the same way. It appears that FatGum's Quirk gives him the ability to convert calories into fat at a more efficient rate than normal, and that his bodyfat has some extraordinary qualities--behaving like quicksand or rubber or whatever. His stored fat gives him the ability to trap people, stockpile force/blows, and the ability to basically lie on a dentonation device and absorb the force of the explosion--letting it out (ike the stockpile of force/blows) in a safer manner than if the device were to simply dentonate (see Vigilantes). FatGum's Quirk wouldn't work on Monoma because it relies on the stockpile. He'd have the quirk but wouldn't be able to do the same things with it--especially given the time limits. Potentially, Monoma would be able to convert calories into fat and get rounded out in the time he copies FatGum's Quirk...but he wouldn't be able to absorb people or blows in the same way until he had enough stockpiled fat. Basically, he could copy FatGum's Quirk, but he wouldn't balloon out to look like a copy of Fatgum.
I'm suggesting here that All Might's Muscle-Form is Kirishima Eijiro's Hardening Quirk (assuming that we accept that Eijiro is a previous user). Maybe "Hardening" manifested differently on All Might's frame than it does on Eijiro. It's a transformation type while the others currently known to be a part of One For All are emission-types. All Might's Muscle-form certainly looks like a transformation-type to me--maybe he's just not as rocky as Eijiro because the rocky part of it is something to do with Kirishima's own cells...cells All Might doesn't have. The way the Quirk manifests on All Might is different from how it manifests for Eijiro.
It's a stretch 'cuz we don't have enough facts from canon--and a lot of what I've written here relies on a heck of a lot of speculation. But hey, this is all just a theory (jkjk...love that channel...system of channels btw. Thank you MatPat for the amazingly done edutainment).

Hi hi Fa! Great day isn't? Did you get some rest and had fun watching the Reputation Tour?
I see what you meant, elemental reactions do play a gigantic part in the game after all. Zhongli is a difficult one to use, right? People have been complaining about his utility in battle, because he is a geo and those are mainly a support, which doesn't fit well in most people's parties, since it's not everyone's cup of tea. It only depends on the approach one takes in battle.
Hmm that's too bad for Xiao, we'll work on the Ayaka agenda from now on! Venti's long gone, but... Doing The Math™ a person would need at least 28800 primogems to secure getting a 5 stars character, hopefully less with luck, but I really want Venti so I'll work my ass off for it!!! :'D
I like anemo too, it's a very fun ability to play with. Not gonna lie, I thought you disliked water because of the aesthetic ahah The other elements I like are ice and fire, even if I can only use fire arrows and I can't aim to save my life ;-;
A weather system? That's intriguing... I tried to search about it and only saw something about the possibility of the characters using snow clothes and I'm all for it!
My excitement only rises with each passing day with these news!! The devs will work on it faster, I suppose; too bad they couldn't release it all at once. We'll survive the wait for sure!
Hey, anon!! Yep, I had some fun today, was your day good too?
Yes, the elements are what makes de combat on Genshin so great. Geo is a complicated element to use, since it’s an element that by nature is very inclined to support, even if Ningguang is actually a very good dps, they all some how have support abilities.
They work well as tanks and assistants for “real” dpss such as Diluc, Razor and such. Personally, I saw ppl running dps Zhongli and blasting with him, but he actually really shines as support.
When I tested him out I really liked his movements, the way his shield is so strong and how his ult is unique but also so powerful. To me, he’s a very good unit, despite everything I’ve said about him. However, I realized that he’s really not what I was needing in my team.
Cuz so far I’ve been running 2 supports as dps and 1 tank/sub-healer and 1 healer, which is fine for running around and doing daily tasks but not very powerful to take out bosses for example. Or to clean the abyss.
I was very unlucky on my first pulls in a sense, because I got a lot of repeated characters and not much differently characters to build in with, of course, the repeated characters became strong because of that, but they didn’t suit my taste, I really need a good dps, one that I can rely on and would make good combos with the characters I intend to use in the future.
That’s why I first thought about Xiao, since he’s so cool and he’s banner is so close too.
My friend tho, told me that Xiao will benefit from support characters, but he didn’t quite get my point of elemental reactions causing a damage chain reaction that is exactly what I’m searching for as a style to play. So in theory, Ayaka is my best shot, until then I will be able to gather enough primals!!
Ah, but I don’t need 20.000 primals actually. There’s a thing about the gatcha.
When you do 90 pulls you get a five star, it can be someone from the standard banner or the limited edition character, you surely know that, however, the pulls are accumulative, they only reset for a five star.
I’m at my 30th pull currently, so theoretically I would need just more 60th to get a guaranteed five-star.
HOWEVER, there’s another mechanic behind it. When you reach those 90th pulls and don’t get the character of the banner (currently, Zhongli) but get another five star (like I got Keqing), in the next 90th I’m guaranteed to get the 5-star character of the current special banner! And this doesn’t reset when they change banners, this is accumulative and stays, so they will give me the next 5-star of the banner that I choose to spend all my primals on.
So, if I went to complete all my 60th pulls on Xiao’s banner, I would get him for sure.
But also, you’re right, if someone started playing right now, they would need the number you said.
I think I can do more 30 pulls before Zhongli’s banner ends, with all the prizes, events and daily quests of this month, I can roughly maybe go for at least 30 pulls. Maybe I will only do 20, who knows. I really want more Xinyans tho. I would love do 40 pulls to at least try my luck!!
The devs didn’t confirm the weather system yet, but the spoilers talk about blizzards and items that give heat!!
Yes, the game would be so much nicer if it was ready, I guess it’s the price to pay (besides buying primals) for a free to play good game kkkkkkk I’m okay with the waiting, I will probably take some breaks from it periodically, I’ve been spending way too much time playing =/
But Dragonspine for sure is something to look forward to, the events too!! It seems like we’re getting more events!! With more free primal gems!!! <3
Btw, which is your type of weapon? Me and my sister like characters with the big sword for the damage, but spear users to me are so cool too (I actually like them better than normal sword users). Ah, and bows are terrible, I can’t aim to save my life either, anon!!
#ask#personal#Fa talking about Genshin Impact#I love how at this point we're basically writing latters to each other through those asks kkkkkk

Okay it's a lot but: 1, 2, 11, 12, 13, and 19 for Lethaa and Naras? (Feel free to substitute/add any questions you'd like to answer!) 🌺💕
Yesssssss I was so excited to get this! Thanks, Mercedes!
So, this got reeaaaally long and rambly. My bad. I just have a lot of thoughts about these two, and I’m excited to share. Click “keep reading” to see my response!
(also, sorry if it formats weirdly - I copy-pasted from a word doc, and tumblr mobile doesn’t like that for some reason)
*
Ask me questions about creating my OCs!
*
1. What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?
For Lethaa, it was her name and position. For Naras, it was the descriptor “the Togruta senator’s wife”
They popped into my head at about the same time. I created them to be throwaway characters in a short story I wrote called “Shall We Dance” (I may someday go back to it and add a few chapters. No promises). There was some dialogue between Anakin and Obi-Wan about different controversial viewpoints in the Senate, and I just needed a senator or two to mention in passing. –
“But these are some of the most outspoken public figures in the Republic. Take Senator Lethaa Daal.” [Obi-Wan] flashed a smile in the direction of the Togruta senator and her wife as they passed. The women returned the smile and made their way arm-in-arm into the grand hall. “She has been very scornful regarding the Senate’s tendency to dedicate resources to systems that are strategic to military movements, as opposed to who needs it most.”
It might have ended there, but I received feedback from a few different readers saying how they appreciated the mention of Senator Daal’s wife. There seemed to be an interest, so I sat on the idea of them for a while.
2. Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind?
Since Lethaa was fully fleshed out first, I made Naras with Lethaa in mind. I knew I wanted her to have her own objectives and life – she couldn’t continue to just be “Lethaa’s wife”. So I tried to give her a profession that was critical in its own way, which is why I went with healing, so that their “importance” (for lack of a better word) was equal to each other.
I guess Lethaa was partially created in response the frustrating politics of the galactic senators. They all make their alliances, play the game to get the upper hand, all while gaining very little ground. I wanted to make a character that found the subtly of politics maddening, and wasn’t afraid to get in someone’s face and tell them exactly why their policies or views were dumb or harmful. I wanted to make someone who could be aggressive without calling into question their moral alignment.
And while it’s not a character, I really really wanted to design or add to a culture that doesn’t get explored much in the Star Wars universe. I took what elements I could find about Togruta culture from Wookipedia, but it was rather lacking, so I made up the rest. I already loved Togruta designs, and wanted characters that could interact within their own culture.
3. How did you choose their name? (Added this because it was Relevant)
If my memory is right, Lethaa Daal’s name came from combining a few names I found on the Togruta name generator (which I HIGHLY recommend btw). I decided to keep it after I finished her design because the first name reminded me of “lethal”, and by that point I knew that was a good descriptor of her. ‘Daal’ came about because I tend to put way too many A’s in my togruta names, and I was for some reason thinking about Roald Dahl at that time, but I also found that I liked how it could be mispronounced as “doll”. I was highly amused by the idea of a “lethal doll” – woe unto anyone who looked at Lethaa and only acknowledged her for her beauty.
Naras Tyn came about because lots of my female ocs tend to have names that end in A or E (IE/I/Y, etc), and I didn’t want to do it again. I wanted a short last name, and I just liked how “Tyn” sounded – it was concise and melodic. ‘Naras’ I think also came from the name generator. I remember being bummed when I realized it sounded so similar to Barriss and Maris (already existing characters), but by that time I was attached. Her first name just sounds calming, and it just sounded right imagining Lethaa calling for her.
11. Did you know what the OC’s sexuality would be at the time of their creation?
Heck yes I did. There really wasn’t any hesitation. The thought process went: Senator –> Togruta Senator –> female Togruta Senator –> has a spouse –> a wife, cuz why not. And that was that.
12. What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC (any form of art: writing, drawing, edits, etc.)?
Everything.
Lol, jk. I mean, as much fun as I have with all the colors and markings of the two, my own drawing ability is kinda limited in terms of body positions. So some things I’d love to draw (Lethaa vs. the rancor, Naras on a medical mercy mission during the Clone Wars, etc.) are taking a long time for me to sketch out. It can be frustrating, but it’s a work in progress.
And writing is hard too. The story ideas in my head play out as nice little movies. Getting it all down on paper while conveying emotion without overloading, describing setting, and making it engaging – that’s all trickier.
But overall, the most difficult thing is trying to figure out what exactly I’m going to do! I have other OCs I want content for, and canon characters I want to explore – and then I have to decide between drawing and writing. There’s not enough hours in the day for me to draw and write everything I want, so I have to pick and choose.
13. How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story, if at all?
Still a work in progress. I jump from one event to the next without writing it in chronological order. I’ve started their story before the start of the Clone Wars, sometime between episodes I and II. Might write some earlier snippets about their childhoods (though they didn’t meet until they were adults).
I’ve got some ideas for what they do during the Empire era (some of which was influenced by one of the Star Wars D&D games I play), but I haven’t written any of that out yet. I do know they live to see the fall of the Empire, and the emergence of the New Republic. They pass away peacefully of old age on Shili.
19. What is your favorite fact a fun fact about your OC?
I had to change this from “favorite” to “fun” because I like everything about them and I’m still developing them. So I thought I might drop a little trivia that I haven’t managed to work into any stories or art yet.
Lethaa was on a hunting trip with her father – Barin – and a few others in her twenties. After her cousin killed their prey, Barin asked her to prepare the meat for dinner. She did her best with it but waaaaaaay overcooked it, and when Barin asked about it, she said, “I… never actually learned how to cook meat.”
Bewildered, Barin said, “But we’ve been on dozens of hunting trips! How could I have never taught you??”
And Lethaa’s just like, “I was the one to kill the prey on most of those trips.”
And Barin and the others can’t help but laugh, because according to tradition, the one who kills the prey while hunting in a group is served the first piece, but never is the one to prepare it. So it makes complete sense that she never had to cook it, because she was always served the first dish. Her cousin actually liked his meat overdone, though, so he was perfectly fine with his meal.
Also, I just came up with this so I have no idea of the context, but there is a 100% chance that there was an instance or two where Lethaa – tall Amazonian though she is – couldn’t reach something. Unable to climb to retrieve it and without a stepstool, muttering darkly, she would disconnected her prosthetic arm and used it as an extender to pull it towards her.
*
Naras can fall asleep anywhere. Even before she became a physician/healer, she had the uncanny ability to close her eyes and be asleep within minutes. Lying down, standing while braced against something, sitting, lounging between skyfaring silks (she’d gotten bored waiting for her Gatalentian friend to come back from the holocall he’d had to take). No nap is too short – she wakes feeling rested even if it’s only been five minutes. She wakes easily, fully alert.
Naras sings and hums to her plants and patients. It’s not uncommon to walk into her clinic and hear her singing a folk song or a current hit. She definitely encourages sing-alongs anytime nervous children are brought in, and at night broadcasts spiritual songs important to Togruta culture over the PA system – at a very quiet volume, of course. Naras has a garden at home – a singfruit tree surrounded by flowers and bushes, some of which are not native to Shili – and the plants routinely get hummed and sung at as she tends to them. Lethaa loves waking up in the morning to hear her wife’s singing voice drifting in from an open window.
*
Thank you again so much for the ask!! This was a lot of fun! Also, I really do appreciate your interest in my OCs (especially these two). It means a lot to me 🌺🌷

August 3rd-August 9th, 2019 Creator Babble Archive
The archive for the Creator Babble chat that occurred from August 3rd, 2019 to August 9th, 2019. The chat focused on the following question:
Describe your comic’s setting. What made you choose this setting?
Steph (@grandpaseawitch)
For https://oldmanandtheseawitch.tumblr.com/, I chose a very nebulous interbellum period because I felt like that sort of gave me the best of all worlds. At heart, I just love me some vintage settings, especially the early 20th century. I knew I wanted a setting without modern conveniences, not only because it helps the comic stand up to aging and reduces the risk of falling out of date, but presents its own challenges and advantages. But while I wanted a vintage setting, I also wanted one that I felt like hadn't been done before in regards to mermaid stories, which are almost always set either in modern days or in the rough time period of the Little Mermaid--1700s to early 1800s. Interbellum Scotland felt like a unique setting that was, at once, hearkening to classical mermaid settings with sailboats and old-timey fisherman, tiny fishing towns, but with some trapping familiar to modern readers even they have vintage twists, like telephones but with switchboards, cars but they're old model Ts, things like that. I also felt like this period brought some neat ideas. I've never seen mermaids dealing with old radios or model Ts or a setting that had just recovered from a brutal world war with trenches and ocean mines and diesel and radar. Transitioning from pastoral to industrialized. Where does this element of fantasy, the mermaid story, come into play and interact with this? And you'll see that, even between Witchy and Ainsley, things revolving around mermaids are more fantasy-based with monsters and magic, while things revolving around humans are more realistic and down to earth, wondering about income and walking to work and selling your goods and what's going on south in england. And over time, things start to overlap and entwine as their relationship progresses, magic seeping into the human world and the mundane seeping into the mermaid world.
But overall I just love drawing and researching vintage things. ;3 And Scotland's just pretty as heck.
Respheal
Galebound http://www.galebound.com/ takes place on a tidally-locked planet shortly before their equivalent to earth's industrial revolution. Steam engines are getting more popular, mostly used by merchants where the fixed wind and currents aren't helpful, and they're on the cusp of science and medical advancements that will make their planetary and magical system very problematic. The tidally-locked world came first, just 'cuz they're neat! Planets like that have one side constantly facing their sun so you get that whole fire-ice world with a narrow band of eternal twilight and safety in between. These type of planets, if they have a good atmosphere, also usually have a giant storm at the subsolar point. So I made that storm the carrier of their magic system, the Gale, because why not. This sorta setup causes some interesting narrative features, like the complete lack of night and seasons and huge swaths of the planet that are completely uninhabitable. The time period sort of just happened, but it worked out. I wanted it to take place later than sword-and-sorcery times, but it couldn't be too modern, so the early 19th century was about right. Also it sort of sets a time limit on fixing certain things, because certain scientific advances would make the magic system so ridiculously broken I don't think it could be salvaged ahahaha :'D(edited)
spacerocketbunny
http://www.ghostjunksickness.com/ the setting in GJS is in a universe that has a variety of different time period aesthetics in one. It takes on a retro futurism where there's outdated tech from the 80's and 90's but there's also spaceships and technological advancements to make travelling from one planet to the next into a day trip. There's aliens and a variety of different people that make humans a minority in the population in a very mixed and blended cultural mosaic. The main setting of the story, which is a planet called June7 is also a place recovering from a inexplicable catastrophe which destroyed a majority of the planet's surface. It's unstable and crumbling structures make it difficult for the residents to thrive and something like transient bounty hunters have pretty much taken over the main livelihood of the planet.
We wanted to make a really well lived in setting, so we took inspiration from a variety of different cultures and stories that the science-fiction genre hadn't quite delved into.
LadyLazuli
For Phantomarine, http://www.phantomarine.com/, the basic concept was simple - I like the ocean, and I like ghosts, so I mashed them together into a haunted ocean But I also love worlds where beauty and danger are close neighbors - in this case, a network of sacred lighthouses keeps swarms of hungry ghosts away from the living population of the sea. I love stories where civilian life is pretty uncomplicated and chill - I've got a nice tropical fantasy vibe going on in these last couple chapters - but there's always a massive danger element looming over everyone's head. What if those lighthouses fail? What if you fall overboard outside the barrier? All that relaxing energy can change to morbid tragedy in a flash...(edited)
LadyLazuli
In terms of rough time period, I've kept it incredibly vague, mostly for my own enjoyment I have sailboats and motorboats existing side by side, color cameras, radios, electricity... certainly not technologically advanced, but it's got some 19th-20th century bits-n-bobs here and there. It's a fantasy world, but more supernatural than magical - gods, ghosts, some humans with strange gifts, but more often than not, a very strong boundary between ordinary and extraordinary. It's a story where a few normal people get swept up into all sorts of divine shenanigans, and have to find their way through.
Steph (@grandpaseawitch)
Finally getting a chance to read through phantomarine and I thought that blanket was familiar! Absolutely love the PNW-inspired outfit, @LadyLazuli !
LadyLazuli
AAH! Yes yes! I've spent far too much time at the Museum of Anthropology here in Vancouver to NOT be inspired by it. My world is truly a mishmash of cultures
Steph (@grandpaseawitch)
OHHH I WANNA VISIT SO BAADD. I need to get my washington license upgraded so I can take a trip up there to the museum!(edited)
But your whole comic is a delight. <3 I'll be retweetin' it in a bit when I finish reading.
AntiBunny
AntiBunny http://antibunny.net/ is pretty straight forward. The city is inspired by film noir, hardboiled comics, and detective novels. It's an old city, so everything should look weathered, especially the old town district where most of the stories take place, so it's all brick work, broken plaster, cracked window panes and such. To some degree I also take visual inspiration from the historic district in my home town, and surrounding areas.
MJ Massey
Black Ball http://welcometoblackball.com/ is set in an alternate 1920s in the New York area. Because of course you set a 1920s comic in New York! But also, I used to live in the metro area and loved it, so to me it was natural to have the setting there. There's a lot of good reference, and lots of sneaky places one can hide a speakeasy. There are a whole bunch of good historical references as well, which makes it easier.
snuffysam
Super Galaxy Knights Deluxe R http://sgkdr.thecomicseries.com/ is set in a deliberately anachronistic fantasy world. There are biplanes and 20's cars, but there's also online message boards and cell phones. Fashion makes no sense, climate makes no sense, etc. The reason I built the world like this is because I wanted to mix up my background designs (and crowd designs) between scenes, and making a world that has no real consistency was the best way to get away with this in my mind. One town has modern art and roller skates, another has tents and open-air shops, there's a city on a hexagonal grid with triangular skyscrapers, this city: http://sgkdr.thecomicseries.com/comics/524/ uses a fractal pattern for its layout, etc.
Desnik
http://ask-a-warlock.tumblr.com/ is based on the idea that a medieval fantasy can be MORE than a DnD piggyback ride. And like, the medieval time period was a couple thousand years, yo, there's differentiation between different time periods. I used it as an opportunity to revamp my worldbuilding techniques and I've learned a lot about frontier-style governments and societies that function without a central authority. Also marginalia are the best comics and no one can tell me otherwise.
Attila Polyák
The setting of Tales of Midgard https://talesofmidgard.com/ is at a glance pretty much what you’d expect a generic fantasy world to be. Aaaand in a way that is right. The setting is a world that used to be kinda medieval-Europe like a long time ago, magic became commonplace, and the world reacted. Instead of developing technology, like in the real world, magic became technology and ultimately it became so common that it satisfied the needs of everyone in every niche possible. And then modernization happened, because why wouldn't it? What we in real life call science and technology slowly got discovered and integrated with a magic-based economy. The end result is a world that looks a bit anachronistic but if you look at it more closely you’ll notice that most things either don’t have a real-life counterpart or if they do they actually mean very different things. This is the point where my main story takes place and the world we see in my comic.
Funari (Raison d'Etre)
Well for Raison d'Etre ( http://raisondetrecomic.com/ ) I was always inspired by anime and general Japanese culture/pop culture growing up, so I had a handle of 90s/00s Japan pretty well that I wanted to use it! I also grew up during the 00s as a teen so the fashions and stuff have stuck. Kinda giving off a sense of nostalgia with the memories that way. And the "Present Day"'s trends are just based off what I grew up with and what a future would look like if we re-cycled back to millennium pop culture, including the love for 60s/70s-inspired stuff, so it's a "neat mess" of that stuff
We haven't shown much of the other planes of existence yet, but we plan to soon. But the idea with those is alternate/fantastical takes on plain ol' Earth (the Middle Plane). Mildly so, though, as even Umbria and Celeste have evolved over time like Earth's denizens have. Little bits of modernization, and assimilation with Earth trends due to the eventual discovery of these planes by Earth's NKP folks.
KAME (commissions open!)
Describe your comic’s setting. What made you choose this setting? For http://tapas.io/series/dragonclawcomic I chose fantasy because I’ve always loved stories about epic adventures, and magical creatures, and I also love the elements from mythology that are often integrated into fantasy stories (gods and demons, heroes and villains, etc.). There’re so many wonderful worlds and characters and creatures that exist within a fantasy setting, and so many more you can create on your own, it’s overwhelming (I mean, Dragons, man, they’re awesome!). Probably one of the first things that got me into fantasy was the Dungeons and Dragons cartoon show, but recently and more importantly, the thing that inspired me to write my own story was the The Legend of Drizzt novels, which I absolutely love (and I’m thankful to my brother who sent me the first like 9 novels for me to read, when I didn’t know a thing about them, and now there are over 20?, I lost count, but I always look forward to the next book) and needless to say have and keep inspiring me a lot

So today was good, despite the fact that I spent a fair amount of time outside and it was FUCKING FREEZING out today. Seriously, have I mentioned how much I hate cold? Cuz I really, really do. Sigh. Anyway. Alarm went off, got ready and ate breakfast then went off to school. While on the train I checked my email to find a last minute email from my prof of the class I was going to saying she had food poisoning and couldn't come to class, but rest assured another LARC professor will take over and we still have to hand in our assignments. Oh well. Got off the train and saw Anthony outside in his normal spot which made me happy. I saw him briefly yesterday but I didn't have my school bag with me so I didn't have his present, which I had today. So I ran over to him and gave him the watch, and he was so happy and just like "God is so good, I was literally just saying I could really use a watch" which made me oh so happy to hear because I didn't know what to get him but decided on a watch for no real logical reason, but it was the right present, which made me smile. And I made sure I got one that has a ten year battery so he wouldn't have to worry about replacing it or anything. So that was definitely a bright spot of my day. Went up to class, turned in our papers and class started with our sub. I didn't think LARC could get any more boring this year, but apparently I was wrong, because this class was mind-numbingly painful. It was bad. Apparently our prof left us some exercises to get through using the bluebook and some research options, but the directions really weren't clear at all and like I knew the sub was not interpreting them the right way because it literally made zero sense, but I just had to sit there and be bored to death. It helped that we got into groups because not everybody has their bluebook with them, so at least there were two other people there to commiserate with. But yeah, it was bad. I was very happy when that was over. Left school and ran down the block to catch a bus, then up to planet fitness to get some workout in. I'm still like exploring the place and I was doing the arm and leg machines for a while, but I hadn't found anything for like abs and such which I was kind of annoyed about, but I did find them today! One of them was mostly fine though I think it might have aggravated my back (not that that's terribly hard to do). The other ended up being interesting though. It was like a bench thing on a slant with handles parallel to where your head was with weight attached so you pulled up while making like a sit up motion, not hard. Well. Lol. At first I like, couldn't get it at all, even on the like 10 pound lightest setting. But once I sat up a bit I was able to make it work, but it was like super intense ab workout which was good and I was happy about it, but after when I was on the exercise bike and they were still hurting I realized I probably overdid it a bit there, being that that's more or less the same area that I injured at the gym over the summer (prior to injuring my wrist there) from overextending myself. Whoops. Thankfully it hasn't bother me since so it must not have been too bad. Left after like 30 minutes on the exercise bike, and caught an "express" bus that goes up the east coast of Chicago (bordering on Lake Michigan) with very few stops which is great, but also means that it was crowded as fuck of course, so it was a bit of a squeeze. It didn't get me all that close to home, but there was an option to take another bus, and I was checking its arrival times as I was almost off the first one but it was another like 9 minutes out and it was fucking cold out, so I was like eh fuck it I'll walk. It was a few blocks further than my normal train walk, though about two blocks further north than the normal street I take (I could walk up and take this one, but I like walking through main street in my neighborhood, so I usually walk up the two blocks there). It wasn't terrible distance wise, but by the time I got home I was so fucking cold it wasn't cool at all. Ugh. So I made hot cocoa while fixing dinner, so that helped. I watched some minority report, stopping at various points to do different things, like make vanilla pudding because I wanted some and I make damn good vanilla pudding okay? Even when it has to chill for like, 3 hours afterwards. I was also looking at the mock trial problem. I scrolled down to the top and I was like oh it's a criminal case, good I'm on the defense because I just think like a defense attorney in a criminal context (probably a side effect of being the daughter of a criminal defense attorney) so I prefer to be on that side. But here's the kicker, I scroll down more and guess what the fucking charges are? Fucking aggravated child abuse. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME???? Literally any other charge I would've been fine with, even murder, but fucking child abuse??? Fuck my life, man. So that's just another beautiful little irony of my life, lol. At another point, my dad called to tell me I got a federal jury summons after filling out the survey they asked me to, even though I included on there that I was living in Chicago (sigh)...but he's gonna take care of it because he knows everyone and can deal with stuff like that easily. He also told me he had spoken with the superintendent of my sister's school, who has apparently decided to continue being a fucking idiot and clearly doesn't know what on earth is good for him. Last we heard they said they were consulting a "title IX expert" which I immediately called bullshit on, because there's no way they would go to an actual title IX expert, they would go to some religious freedom person, and guess who was right?? They went to one of the Christian education legal organizations blah blah, and they apparently told them they're totally in the clear and they can do whatever they want which is also pure BULLSHIT, and I am so ready to destroy them at this point you have no fucking clue. They say the word, and I'll mobilize my forces and take them the fuck down, and I'll make sure everybody knows about it. I'm just so so so fed up with their elitist bullshit that is so ridiculously off base from anything Christianity could even claim to be. I've said it before, but if I wasn't 1000% sure God is real the actions of Christians definitely would've made me leave the church at this point. Thankfully I've been blessed by a wonderful physical church I can go to here and not have to worry about legalism and just bask in the love and glory of our God, but "the church" as a whole has been so incredibly discouraging to me. Don't even get me started on the whole refugee preference to Christians, I already went on a Facebook rant about it and I can probably go on for hours telling you everything that's wrong with it. I'm so fucking furious I can't even put it into words. Just....no. No. If you believe someone's life is worth more because they have the same belief system as you, I'm sorry but you are not following the same God as me. Not by a long shot. Like the bible is so explicitly clear about what our actions should be in these kinds of situations, and I'm just so, so grieved by everything that has transpired under the false banner of Christianity- false because while they may claim the name, they clearly know nothing of the gospel and it's many elements. Just....I could go on, but I think you get the point. Sigh. Anyway. I did also watch how to get away with murder, because apparently that came back yesterday, which I wasn't even aware of being I really don't give very many fucks about that show at this point. It was a decent enough episode, I've just never loved all of there drama as much as I loved the cases, mostly because there would be so much drama if they just STOPPED FUCKING KILLING PEOPLE but apparently that's asking too much. Poor Wes, you really did deserve better. It's obvious they're not gonna keep Annalise in prison for the rest of the season, so she'll probably be out soon. The rest was fine I guess, I was sad for Laurel to have to wake up to news like that after such an incredibly traumatic event, topped with the fact that she's pregnant with his baby....like, thats gotta suck. So it was okay I guess. I'm really over Frank as a character and all his shady shit. Anyway. I got through episode 9 of the minority report so there's only one episode left, and I feel like I'm not gonna get as satisfying an ending as I could've, like they were definitely setting up a plot that was supposed to take more than 10 episodes, but for whatever reason was limited to what they got. Oh well, it's been interesting enough for what it is, and Nick Zano is a hoot in it, his character is great. And yeah, that was my night and my eyes reallllly want to close now so I'm going to go do that. Goodnight friends. Happy weekend.

Acid rounds is a semi-regular, irregular spot on TGAM for games we have beasted from start to finish. Richie: Sunday is the day of God, apparently it was made his day cuz he had just churned out a 6 day week, and decided he was gonna rest on his laurels. Every week we do the same, except instead of resting on our laurels we brag about games we have beasted from start to finish, Last week I went off on one about Oblivion this week Cunzers tells us about yet another spaceship game! So What's this one about? Cunzy1 1: Starlink: Battle for Atlas is an interesting mix, it's part space game, part planetary exploration and part RTS with a more-complex-than-it-needs-to-be toys to life element. Pilots, ships, wings and weapons can either be changed on the fly by plugging and swapping around physical parts or used to unlock parts and pilots for time limited use in digital/handheld mode. The story in Starlink won't be threatening narrative titans of Sci-Fi, Starlink is a band of colourful characters from an alien which is fireflies in a spacesuit through to an annoying 'Influencer'. Story goes ancient race of forerunners, evil robots, yadda, yadda, yadda. The game is set in a fairly large pocket galaxy and includes a mix of planetary exploration and conquering as well as space dogfights and large spaceship combat. Richie: What are your favourite power-ups Cunzy1 1: As far as the weapons go there's an element system as well as different types so there's an ice missile launcher, an ice rail gun, flame thrower, gravity cannon etc. Hands down my favourite is the Meteor Mk2 which is a fire based melee weapon. On a ship. Think about it. Richie: Did you take pictures of all the dollies before you soiled them? Cunzy1 1: I only took pictures of some of the dollies. The Switch version of this game has some exclusive themed Starfox content and Fox and Arwing dollies and I honestly thought I'd just play using these but the team did a really good job with some of their ships and designs. There have also been a few 'toy trial' weekends so you can try the ships, pilots and weapons you don't own for free and I've been converted by some of these. Richie: Why is this better than Resident Evil 6? Cunzy1 1: Oh Resident Evil 6. It wasn't a bad game just unmemorable for the most part. A lot of Resident Evil 6 levels are reused in Resident Evil Revelations 2 Raid Mode and I barely remembered any of it. Richie: If you could de-make this to a 16-bit era style game, what would be the best bits to carry over? Cunzy1 1: All told, and there's a lot to love in this game, it's actually the freedom of movement in the spaceships, especially the faster ones that is particularly liberating. So I'd preserve that sense of speed and ease of movement in a de-make of this game. Oh and the planet designs. In an age of infinite universe space games, the limited but hand crafted planets here really shine from methane lakes to gas globule trees, blood red savannahs and swiss cheese cliffs. Richie: Daddy or Chips? Cunzy1 1: Daddy would you like some sausage?
