i honestly don’t understand the people who have the audacity to come onto writers blogs to complain about their post schedule or how they aren’t writing a lot like they used. People on here and other websites truly forgot that there are people behind these blogs who have responsibilities outside of writing fanfics. Its ridiculous to me that people are so demanding and then don’t interact with fics other than like it. Have I been guilty about this is past? Yes but as soon as I saw some of my fave writers stop writing after literally BEGGING for interaction i knew i needed to change. I think some users are used to fanfic writers being in high school with all the time in the world to post (which is not an excuse for not interacting) But that’s not the case especially here on tumblr. A lot of writers I follow are adults with lives outside of fandom. I truly feel for you caly and all the other writers that are going through this. I haven’t been on tumblr reading fics for a while cause of personal issues going on irl but i know when i do have time to come back and read that you and other writers will still be here giving us content/stories to enjoy and that those stories are created when you want to create them in your our free time. But i also wouldn’t be surprised if we see another mass exodus from writers on this site.

Sorry if my thoughts seem all over the place. I’m just so shocked by the pure audacity of some people.

!! everything you said it so very true! honestly i didn't realize it at the time but i had so much time in college to be writing a lot and doing a lot in terms of writing, and once i graduated i truly thought that i would have more time and brainpower but it's the opposite ;-; the adjustment from that school life to real big adult life is a harsh one and affects you a WHOLE lot more than i ever realized it would, and i do truly feel lots of guilt about not having the will to write as much as i used to ;;-; but! we are people, all of us are, whether we're readers or authors or creators, regardless life happens to us all and life comes first because that's important!! i've already noticed many writers leaving and an influx of short form content making a resurgence, and while that's normal in the fandom space, it does feel more permanent this time, and i definitely feel the shift from long-form, heavy plot-driven fic to short-form erotica and that's a hard thing as a writer to see the exact type of thing you love writing fall out of style so to speak ;-;

what’s the point of forms for feedback… when we voice are concerns and nothing gets done? it’s upsetting. there’s no activity checks, no events and the obvious selectivity is sad and what’s making me and other’s want to leave.

we weren't certain if we wanted to answer a message like this on our tumblr, but we hope our choice to do so won't put off anyone from joining our community and finding things out for themselves, or from providing feedback again in the future. we understand being anonymous helps with feeling you’re able to voice your opinions and we appreciate your honesty! we’re just sorry we are unable to make this an open conversation, and instead hope this will help you with your concerns.

while we hear you, we believe our feedback forms have already begun to help us – provided the majority share the same wants, needs, and concerns – we do our best to fulfil these. our feedback currently has only a few responses, and with 60+ members, that’s not too much... so at this time, we're mostly working with our own ideas.

we have only been open a month yet, and we now have our first activity check open. we decided to wait a little longer than usual to get things rolling, in order to allow everyone to get settled and comfortable. however, our AC’s are scheduled to be bi-weekly or monthly from here out. we are also using the feedback from this AC to help guide us in deciding future events and prompts we’ll hold. however, these are in the works already, and will be going on shortly!

unfortunately, as admins there is only so much we can do to help selectivity. we are a mature roleplay and we expect adults to behave as such, upholding the rules they agreed to upon joining. favouritism is never tolerated and while we do our best to keep our eye on everyone, we are still very human, and have only so much time and reach, so there will be things we don’t see, or have control over. we rely on our community a lot for helpful information on these kinds of things, and we answer this message publicly in the hopes everyone feels comfortable reaching out to share anything that goes against our guidelines, or exhibits any general poor roleplayer etiquette.

we’re sorry to hear you’re not enjoying yourself with us right now, and we hope others will be encouraged to use our feedback form if they feel the same way, but we also want to remind you we are only people at the end of the day, just like you, running a community with our spare time, for fun, because we want to give others a place to come, write and have a good time. we hear everything our members give us, and we constantly work behind the scenes (no really, I swear I work harder than my real job!) just because you can't see something from us just yet, doesn't mean we aren't working to make things happen!

if you see reason to not enjoy yourself, and feel we can help solve this for you, or potentially for another person, know you will never be treated with biased views should you choose to discuss any problems you have and work with us to help you. after all... this community is our baby, and we are always, always here to listen to our members and strive to make it better. but we can’t always do that alone.
