#this is why I feel bad about joining fandom long after the hype is over#I’m also embarrassed if old fans see my newer art and hate it
Don't be, I've been in a fan for a show since it came out 12 years ago and recently a wave of people who were 5 when the show first came out who are now old enough to be on the internet, have come in wave, sharing their fanarts and it's been incredible to see. I'm still excited to see new fanart, and see new people's interpretations, even the same interpretations I made during the piece's initial release (seeing them go through the same phases I did, over ten years ago when first watching it) has been so nice to see! I'm happy to see people enjoying it again after all these years, and hope people continue to find and enjoy it for many more! I can't speak for everyone but I get the feeling a lot of fans who've been fans for something for years and years feel the same way.
We continue to enjoy Starry Night generations after Van Gogh's paints dried.
