Thoughts on Episode 10 (Jason Route)

Now that I am chill after losing both the illustration and the route and having to watch it somewhere else, I can give my thoughts on this episode! ^^

I wanted to upload this sooner but had no time to finish it lol

beware of spoilers under the cut!

Overall, my main feeling while playing and after finishing was that i was tremendously bored for 90% of the episode. And honestly this makes me sad! I really like filler episodes, i love silly little moments that don't add much to the story itself but that let you see the characters in different situations and learn other tidbits of information about them. For example, I liked going with Brune and Elanda to look for Thomas, seeing them in a situation where they're worried about a friend that could be in serious trouble and how they reacted differently to everything. It adds depth and personality (which these characters desperately need). I have seen Roy's route in this episode too and i liked how it added a bit to his characterization of this very sweet and caring man. I have to say that i also loved seeing Thomas' mom again and im soooo happy that she got a redesign! (even though I wish she looked like an actual 60 year old woman, girlie looks addicted to botox). I would have loved to see Iris too but we got a couple more characters from the MCL games so I'm happy with that. I like seeing that we are, indeed, in the same universe lol.

However, in my opinion anything good or interesting in the episode was completely overshadowed by the sheer *absurdity* of it all.

It's the same issue as always, the "plot" doesn't make sense and unintentionally the characters end up being depicted terribly and (usually) Devon and Thomas suffer the most.

Devon looks like an irresponsible boss that doesn't keep his empoyees in check and lets them do whatever they want even if it harms the job or other emoplyees's work. He postpones the meeting with the town hall (would he even be allowed to do that? i'm sure this would have negative impact on Devenementiel) to look for Thomas, which honestly that's a good friend move so respect for that... but that is a full grown adult, not a child, and you dont even know if something actually happened to him. I'm sorry but here the job should take priority, it makes no sense for everyone to halt their work day and waste time (with a relevant project !! with the town hall !! in their hands !!) cause someone didnt come in.

Sending everyone to just look around the city is... so stupid? how big is Amoris? 1km square? for them to think that they can wander around and magically find him? ????

Now the ending was just... what the actual fuck.

I don't think the writing team is truly aware of how badly Thomas is portrayed. First of all, if you have a motorbike accident that is serious enough to leave the morotbike destroyed like they describe it: you do not walk away like nothing happened! Talking from experience, even a relatively small accident can leave you badly injured. And from what is being described in the episode Thomas should have been hospitalized! It makes no sense. Second of all, who in their right damn mind leaves a demaged vehicle in the middle of the street and walks away to buy a replacement? That is a fine, that is a public safely issue, a general safety hazard and a traffic obstruction, who does that ?! "He is socially unaware!" no, that is being straight up stupid and a jerk.

Y'all are portraying Thomas as an egocentric, careless, and self centered guy that does not care for anything or anyone around him other than himself, an irresponsible person that does not care if his actions are detrimental to his job or colleagues. And if we put this together with episode 8 showing him as someone with zero respect for boundaries or privacy and that will stalk coworkers with no remorse, yeah you're making a wonderful love interest.

And this pisses me off, this feels out of character. Thomas is such a fun and interesting and cute love interest, he could have one of the best romance stories in the game, why would you paint him like this? I'm sure that the intention was a "haha silly guy doesn't understand!" moment but y'all definitely don't know how to write that.

And I don't think this is "reading too much into it", cause you can see it all in plain sight. And also, analyzing shit and "reading too much into something" is fun for me.

This episode could have been so fun. It could have been a silly misunderstanding with some days off that Thomas takes to go to a competition (maybe we initially could think that he had an accident because a similar bike had one that morning! or because he had been complaining about motor issues and being wary of a potential accident!). In his route we could go see him and he could tell us about his hobby, and in other routes we could do something related to the other character's interests. We could get to know more about them, its an appropiate episode topic for the place that we are in in the relationships and its just cute and fun.

But anyway, I unfortunately could not play Jason's route myself and I had to watch it somewhere else instead, which honestly pissed me the fuck off cause i can't afford a replay at all. The special scene was cute, I liked the tone and how Jason sounded like he was trying to play it cool with all the "heh i just did it to show im better" (i can see right through you silly man). Ngl im sad i dont have the scene to replay it u-u

My Candy Love New Gen Ep.7 Review!

Spoiler Ahead, Obviously

Another day, another short episode. I think off the bat, im dissapointed with how short the episodes are. I really think they need to get it together with the amount of content. It's just not enough and it doesn't help that we have to wait for almost a month every single time for a new ep.

I just had to point this out because since i've been replaying the Eldarya TO, i just started to appriciate how beemov games used to have longer, more filling, structured episodes and stories compared to now. Maybe this is too early for me to say since we are only 7 episodes in. Who knows? Maybe Beemov will actually start to have an enemies to lovers arc between the writers and the new gen game. Anyways..

The ep starts out with Candy complaining to my love Elenda (and soon the whole office) about how difficult it is to live with her annoying mom and sister. Seriously, we see from the flashback that Candy's mother basically insinuates that she didn't think she would have to live with her adult ass daughter in her house. Both Tasha and the Mother(i forget her name) were pretty rude abt it in my opinion. Instead of talking with Candy about house rules they just go on like nothing happened, and make it clear that she is just a guest. Not a part of the household.

Mentioning of TikTok was thrown in one scene for good mesure lmao

As they all hear the story, Devon decides everyone in the office should help Candy look for an apartment. They apperantly don't have anything else to do the whole day.

It almost feels like a little bit Mary Sue-ish. Everyone taking turns wasting their free work hour trying to find Candy an apartment, making it a competition seems comical and unrealistic. (not everything has to be so realistic but it's just ridicilous atp). They are literally racing to find this rich adult woman a place to live...

When it comes to the actual apartment hunting, Thomas's route was a roller coaster 😭. Since apperantly no one rents apartment to stinky stinky singles, LI s jump in to save the day, pretending to be our partners during the apartment showing.

Thomas had both me and the realtor gagged the whole time.

Just as we think we are over with this, leaving the apartment, he kisses Candy.

I saw some people saying they didn't like how this kiss came about and i have to agree. He calls it "our little ritiual" , apperantly to convince the realtor. We know that's bullshit and it was kind of an excuse to kiss her. I don't like that Candy is in a cornered position to accept the kiss and it felt kind of unneccesary, no matter how hyped everyone was about it.

Like if this is the dude we will eventually gonna fall in love with& date, it's kind of a bummer that their first kiss had to be "fake". I know they thought of it like a little romantic game Candy had to play to get close to Thomas but i really think even for this it was kinda underwhelming.

I also saw other illustrations from different routes and Roy's has to be my favourite. I wish it was more romantic like that and actually made sense. Anyway..

Anyways, after they leave the house, Thomas gets back to the nonchalant attitude again (obviously) which, gagges Candy again.

Like i said, i don't really like how this kiss happened and i think even for Thomas this was kind of crazy.

If i was the realtor, i would honestly block their numbers and hope that Thomas wouldn't show up at my house to wear my skin the very same night. He deserves some kind of compensation.

I'm gonna keep doing these reviews no matter who reads them, this is for me and my ranting. But i hope you like it! Oh, I also will rate these episodes out of 10.

For my first rating on this series, I'm givinf this episode an underwhelming 5/10

Best part is that this ain't even about the house anymore, even realtor knows he fucked up and they are not gonna choose this house.

by the way, i wanted to write my opinion about it (i’ve never done this before but i’ll try, english isn’t my native language so don’t come at me lol), because i have mixed feelings about this episode. i played it last night and to be honest; i cringed from the start to finish…

BUT! let’s not forget about that it’s still just a game. i have trauma too, and i felt uncomfortable watching them getting excited about a situation like this… of course it’s NOT OKAY what they did to Roy despite what he said “Don’t try to follow me.” (because for me it was obvious he’s NOT joking even if it seem like that, he DIDN’T want them to follow him), it’s his private hobby(?) or whatever you want to call it, and they should’ve respect it, even if he’s their childhood friend. first of all, why y’all want to see your coworker OR friend naked??? are you 5?? like i can’t imagine a scenario that this behavior is normal at work (or anywhere else).

sadly, i had to follow them because i’m doing Jason’s route…

i miss those times when you have to wait for 20+ episodes (i’m not sure how much exactly it was a loooong time ago) in the og mcl, when you developed a deeper connection with your crush before any intimate interaction happened. +i really like slow burn stories, that’s why the game lost its magic for me… (at least for now)

as i said, i’m playing Jason’s route on my main, but i also did Devon’s and i… i don’t know what to say. like girl, we get it you’re horny but why do you do shit like this WITH YOUR BOSS??? AGAIN??? the problem isn’t that you developed feelings for someone who you working with, it happens, but at least wait until episode 30 or idk before you pull his pants off💀

i’ve read a lot of people’s reviews about the episode and i think we can all agree that everything’s rushed. i would’ve really appreciated some backstory/lore or whatever about the characters to get to know them first. the illustrations are nice, until you don’t know the context… and i think it’s sad. i’m a working adult and i was so excited to play one of my favorite game again which is a bit similar to my life, but i expected more mature story. i hope beemoov does something about this, but i saw their feedback and well… i don’t know:/

i don’t take it that seriously, because as i said it’s just a game, but i think we all want to enjoy it instead of writing novels about how much we hate the storyline. but it’s just MY opinion.

The apartment was starting to look like something. The essentials were there.

Regardless of how many times it happened, Jason´s illustrations always seemed to surprise her.

Surely there is nothing about connecting the dish washer to the water system.

Nope, it was depicted in the kitchen section of page 5. Lesser steps involved, since it turned out to be a simple task.

Every time there was a comment, she automatically read it in his voice. Knowing when a splash of sarcasm was added.

It was a very weird feeling. Imagining those conversations in her head, based on these texts.

But as weird as it was, she realised how much she missed it.

Was it wrong to feel this way?

Everybody at work was nice. Sure, Amanda and Ysaline would clash sometimes. Thomas had his way of expressing himself.

But nobody challenges her. Made her work for it, prove herself.

Argued back.

It can´t be normal to feel like this. Surely she must be the only one.

If anything, she should be grateful about the calm atmosphere at work.

But for a moment, she closed her eyes.

And just for a tiny moment, she tried to remember how it was at the company before Devenementiel.

But it didn´t take long for the nausea to kick in. His face. The screaming fiancé.

Never mind. It´s not worth remembering.

After a moment, Ysaline glanced towards the toolbox lying on the kitchen counter.

She finished all the important work. She could give it back.

But did he also want the instructions? Or could she keep them?

Maybe she should ask him…

Ysaline pinched herself. She knew what she was doing.

Stop looking for reasons to text him.

Suddenly, the phone buzzed. A message from Devon!

Come to the office. I have an update on your last proposal.

Excitement immediate took over Ysaline.

There were rumours about a big event happening in town. Specifically a concert hall that was almost done with construction - awaiting its opening party.

The client had already contacted a few firms, requesting proposals. And Ysaline was working on one of them, together with Thomas.

I´ll be right there.

It didn´t take long to get ready and make her way to work. While the apartment was in a rough state at the start, the location was its most promising aspect.

Once the office door closed behind her, the familiar faces in the office space smiled at her. You could feel the excitement.

Which proposal make it through? Was anybody selected?

Devon waved at Ysaline at the others, gathering them in a conference room.

“Thank you all for coming. There´s been an update from the client, but I first want to go over all the proposals again.” He explained, his facial expression not revealing anything as usual.

“As you all now, a client reached out about the concert hall opening party. Not only do they want to host a concert featuring various artists, but they also want an extravagant after party. In terms of criteria, they are looking that´ll really blow people away. An unforgettable night, so to speak.”

Amanda´s eyes were closed, as if reimagining the original brief. Thomas was sitting a little impatient, unsure why Devon explaining it all again.

Roy kept smiling.

“Now, we had various ideas. Amanda, your pitched a line-up of various famous artists to promote the concert hall. You remember are chat about this and why the client had to reject it”. Devon said, switching slides to show Amanda´s proposal with visuals.

She rolled her eyes.

“Appaaaarently it was too expensive.” She mumbled back. Politely.

“It was. Now Roy, let´s move on to yours… your idea was to turn it all into an interactive experience. Why separate stage and seating, when the concert can happen throughout the entire space?”

Devon had moved on to the next slide, showcasing Roy´s mood board. People dancing and singing everywhere.

“I call it the 360° approach. Why limit the celebrations?” Roy nodded to himself.

“An intriguing idea! But not what the client was looking for.”

Roy sighed.

“Now, I wouldn’t call you all here if there aren’t any good news.” Devon added, a smile slowly appearing on his face.

Ysaline and Thoma were now starting at each other. And then back to Devon.

“Now, here is the final proposal that Thomas and Ysaline teamed up with. A series of performances, yes. But each of them focused on a technical aspect of the stage.  And now I´d like to ask you both… why?”

All eyes were on them.

“The new concert hall was built with the newest sound technology. Not to mention a stage system that can change mid-performance. A lighting system that…”

It almost took Thomas 15 minutes to go through all the technological innovations the concert hall invested in. And this was the short version.

“Thank you, Thomas. But my question remains… why? Why show them off in the opening night? It seems to be a bigger focus point than the actual artists.” Devon asked, trying to build up the suspense.

That was the point where Thomas looked over to Ysaline.

“Well… The opening night isn´t just meant for a celebration. Many artists will already be invited. Other organizers. It is a chance for the concert hall to also advertise itself as a potential performing stage for others. If they have an impression for all that can be done on it, compared to other concert halls within the city… it´ll secure them potential clients to rent it.” Ysaline explained.

There was a memory playing in her mind. When they lost the art exhibition job because they focused more on creativity or originality but completely forgot the business aspect.

When Devon told them there is a new opportunity, Ysaline wanted to make sure she learned from her mistake. Yes, the art aspect is important. But people needed to earn something for it too.

“Exactly!” Devon said, super excited.

“This brief perfectly combines the entertainment aspect, as well as the business one. By showcasing the different systems or rather their potential, the concert hall will secure future clients for itself. Which is why….”

“We got the part.” Thomas whispered.

“You got the part!” Devon yelled, followed by a round of applause and cheering. Brune and Elenda stormed in with party poppers, making sure everybody gets covered in confetti.

“There is only oooone thing…” Devon finally added, as everybody was jumping around.

There was a quick change in the mood.

“While the client did accept our proposal for the opening event… they did request that the afterparty is taken care of by another company.”

The world suddenly slowed down a little.

“I think you can all guess which one.”

Maybe she should have returned that toolbox earlier.

“Come on, we are all professionals. Let it all out now because we have our first meeting in 2 hours. At the concert hall.”

It was difficult to keep a composed face as Ysaline approached the concert hall together with the others.

On one hand she was super excited that their proposal was picked at that Jason´s team only got the afterparty. Though it was to be enjoyed with caution. One mistake and the afterparty would become more memorable than the actual opening evening.

In other words, she hadn´t succeeded yet.

It was something that always bothered her in their past interactions. The unbalanced power dynamic. He had always won after all. Teased her. Helped her even.

Winning this? It would make her feel like an equal.

Like she was… worthy?

“You look like you’re out for blood, Ysaline.” Roy commented, walking next to her.

She didn´t realise her serious expression and quick shook off to ease off the tension.

“We are about to meet Jason´s team. I think we’re all bloodhounds right now.” Amanda added.

Ysaline could feel Devon´s glance towards her.

They never talked about what happened at the forest. How Jason reached out to him about what was going on.

It was also a very Devon thing to do. Always polite and friendly.

Once they entered the concert hall, the mood quickly shifted.

It was gigantic from the inside. At first glance, the sound system looked intimidating. One sound blast from the bass and they’d fly across the room.

Probably.

“There they are!” a loud voice echoed.

A relatively short man approached them, his clothes a depiction of a perfectly mannered gentleman. But what was most impressive, was his moustache. It was very… twirly.

Ysaline must have stared at it for too long.

It was a familiar snicker in the background that reverted her attention. Jason was standing not too far, accompanied by Danica and some other familiar faces.

When they made eye contact, Jason was trying to motion something.

Stop staring at the poor man.

Ysaline immediately snapped back to the client who was shaking everybody’s hands. By the time it was her turn, she got her act together and greeted him with the warmest smile possible.

“We are so excited! Thank you for having us.” She said and the client matched her excitement by taking her hand and kissing it.

“My dear, we were blown away by the proposal. The night will be… ah, what is the right word… unforgettable! Yes!”

Ysaline took the opportunity to quickly pull her hand back. While maintain the smile of course. And suppressing any eye twitching.

“Bah, where are my manners! I am Don Suave, the enigmatic creator of this beautiful building. Before you begin your mission on bringing it all to life, you should get familiar with this masterpiece. Every step. All the corners! And most importantly, the technology…”

Every word coming out of Don Suave was met by a different pose. It’s as if he really wanted to make sure you caught the meaning behind them, by moving along… with them.

But if anything, it was incredibly distracting.

Don Suave quickly announced that his tour was starting, leading to the two groups closing in.

Ysaline kept her focus on the client and every word he was saying. But to be honest, not making eye contact with Jason was probably using up the most of energy.

“Sis!”

A pair of arms wrapped around hers. She glanced next to her and found Tasha looking up to her.

A bit of tension eased off. Ysaline gave her sister a quick hug while they kept the group’s pace.

“I thought it’s your day off.” Ysaline whispered.

“They offered me to join. Might as well watch the project develop during my summer internship.” Tasha explained, sticking close to her sister.

By this point Don Suave was explaining the sound system and the stage lights. While important, it looked like Thomas was already fully comprehending all the technicalities.

She would ask him for a recap later.

“You’re acting weird.” Tasha suddenly said.

“Huh?”

“It almost feels like your avoiding eye contact on purpose.”

“I am not-“

Ysaline knew her sister was right.

It just felt weird to see him again.

Maybe she started feeling embarrassed about her last visit too?

But Tasha was right.

It would be weird to avoid him throughout the entire project.

“And that’s it! Please, feel free to explore this beauty by yourself. If you have any questions, I’ll be on the stage.” Don Suave finished, striking a final pose.

People were starting to spread after a brief round of hellos.

Then the moment came.

While the rest of her team was scattering around, Jason was standing next to a row of seats.

Not doing anything in particular. Looking at the ceiling.

Tasha could sense her sister’s plan and quickly stepped away. Danica was about to explore the bar after all.

“Hello, stranger.”

Ysaline cringed at her own words as she approached him.

“Kitten.”

That caught her by surprise. And the smile on his face.

“I suppose congratulations are in order…” he continued, glancing at her hand.

“Do people nowadays celebrate achievements by exchanging palm kisses?”

Ysaline smirked.

“I was hoping you’d tell me. He’s closer to your age group than mine.”

 His eyes very much communicated are you serious.

“And here I was considering giving you some advice.”

“Ah, very wise of you. I guess that also comes with age.”

There it was. The famous Jason eyeroll. Ysaline was going to laugh a lot more, until he was starting to move away.

“No, wait! Wait…”

He looked back, a little offended.

“Thank you. For the tools, I mean. You are quite the artist too.” Ysaline finally said, composing herself again.

“I am guessing your closet is functioning properly now?”

“It does.  I followed your instruction word by word. You would have been proud.” Ysaline said, first realising at the end how cheesy it sounded.

“A sight to behold, I’m sure.” he responded, not meeting her eyes.

The conversation was cut short, when their names were called out.

They glanced at each other as if more was meant to be said. But Ysaline turned back to join Thomas.

He had already explored the stage mechanics, the sound system and the lights. Apparently he did not need the blueprints, it was all memorized in his head.

After everybody had their fair share of exploration, the groups gathered once more.

“As discussed, my team will be focusing on the opening event. Jason´s team will be organizing the afterparty.” Devon announced, not being able to withhold the joy of this moment.

“While they are separate, it would be good to keep somewhat of a connection between the two. Which is why, we will hold regular meetings to update each side about any progress made. Or problems.”

People were starting to understand what Devon was leading towards to.

“For this, we will need volunteers. From my team, I would recommend either Ysaline or Thomas. After all, the two of you will be most involved with the opening party.”

Thomas cringed. The idea of regularly hosting meetings with a competitor firm did not park joy for him.

But he would also not go against Devon’s wishes.

“I’ll do it. That way, Thomas can focus more on the technicalities.” Ysaline said, shrugging.

“Then it’s settled.”

Everybody was glancing towards Jason.

“Ysaline updates us on your progress. I’ll update her on ours.” He continued, without missing a beat.

Danica looked at him a little confused. Reports are not really part of his tasks.

A CEO usually reads reports. But rarely makes them.

A few more words were exchanged and then everybody spread out.

Only Jason and Devon were left at the centre, talking. A rare sight to behold.

At one point Devon waved Ysaline over to join them.

“Yes?” Ysaline responded, trying to read their expression.

She could tell Devon was not happy about something. Jason on the other hand wore his sly smile.

“Jason here… suggests that you have a temporary desk at his firm. Only for days where you are to deliver your reports.” Devon explained, every word causing him physical pain.

Of course he did.

“Me coming over to Devenementiel? Scandalous. Imagine the ruckus.” Jason explained with a sigh.

“That is hardly a reason-“

“Also, Ysaline’s sister is doing a summer internship at our firm. We wouldn’t want to separate family now, would we?”

Devon was looking over to Ysaline with a release me from this misery look.

“It’s fine, Devon. I don’t mind.” She said, very professional.

“How many times would this exchange take place anyway?” Ysaline asked.

“Once a week. You’d be surprised how much a plan can change within 24 hours even.” Jason explained.

Devon was about to argue back, but Ysaline calmed him down.

“It’s fine, really. We can always do a test round! Let’s see how things feel after the week is over.”

Devon smiled at Ysaline. When Jason held out his hand, Devon still shook it with hesitation.

After he walked away, Jason crossed his arms again.

“I am a little surprised.” He confessed.

“By what? The volunteering?”

“You volunteering was to be expected. But agreeing to come to our firm once a week? I was sure you’d argue back.”

“Awwww, are you disappointed I didn’t fight back? Don’t worry, I’m sure we’ll be at each other’s throats soon enough.”

She was enjoying this. A lot.

Turns out when you haven’t roasted somebody in a while, it all just comes out naturally.

And just maybe… he was enjoying it too.

“Try not to get too excited.” He whispered, stepping a little too close. But immediately continues on towards the exit while saying “I expect you 9 am sharp on Friday.”

My opinion about ep 8 - Jason and Amanda's routes

Hi! I'm sorry for my absence for the last month! I'm going to be really busy with college this year, I forgot to write my review of ep 7 and I'm a bit late with ep 8, but I'm still here! Haha

I finally played ep 8! I don't have the VIP now, so I had to wait and I was a bit scared seeing other people's controversial opinions about this ep. My conclusion after playing it is that this episode was… weird. Not as awkward and horrible as I thought it would be, reading other reviews, but as others said I also had the feeling that this ep has a script that would have been more believable in a HSL-type story, since the behavior of the characters seems more like that of a group of teenagers, than adults who work in the same company. It has some similar vibes to HSL in eps 9 and 12 (I loved those eps), when Candy wanted to see Lys' tattoo it was funny and plausible, even innocent since she just wanted to see him shirtless, and not his private parts, plus it led us to find out a secret of Nathaniel's that would later lead us to an important point in his backstory, so it was justified at least as far as "plot excuse" goes, but in a situation with co-workers… it doesn't fit me, and even less if it's in a filler ep. I don't know if it's because they thought about this ep when New Gen was still in the process of being a new HSL, or they just thought that this theme would fit in this environment as well. But it doesn't work for me.

Anyway, I'm happier than ever that my main and secondary routes are Jason and Amanda, since in Jason's route I had the chance to warn Roy and in Amanda's I was able to take her side and against the plan to spy on Roy, warn him too, which in both situations was for me and my OCs (according to their personalities) something much more comfortable. That's why the ep wasn't creepy to me, since it wasn't a "let's catch our coworker naked and without consent" but a "let's have fun watching Roy surprise and get revenge on them."

Amanda received complaints in the fandom for being immature in some previous eps like 3, but in this ep she has been the most mature of all and I love her for it, and the moments with her were wonderful! If this ep was fun and comfortable for me it was largely thanks to her. And I truly felt that things were happening here that made the relationship between Amanda and my Candy advance. I really liked both the conversation they had about how she shouldn't care what other people think about her and how she was grateful that Candy took her side, as well as the date to the spa, both enjoying massages, canapés and scented candles. QUEENS <3

About Jason, I'm tired of us always being in a vulnerable position with him instead of the confident and equal enemies-to-lovers that I would like, however, I was glad that at least he showed respect and consent towards my character, THANK YOU, and I like that he wasn't involved at all in the rest of the plot of this ep, and I liked the special scene of my oc imagining a kiss with him caught me by surprise and was very funny! However, I needed something more, ep 7 had a very emotional scene between them and I really hoped to see something more in this ep that developed their relationship, and I didn't see it. But I have hopes that it will improve. Btw: I can't help but laugh thinking that if my character wasn't there, Jason might have accidentally found Roy naked, wtf XDDD

The scene where I was in the locker with Elenda and Brune pressed up against me… BV when am I going to be able to kiss my girls?? I felt it was a least another good enough situation to get an illustration with them, like the scene of holdings hands with both in ep 6. I miss to get illus with friends like in the previous games ToT

Also, Roy was great during this ep. I'm aware that Devon and Elenda are friends of his since childhood and so they knew that Roy would take that joke in good stead, but still, Devon is supposed to be the boss of our company, he should be more mature and set a limit for the others.

However, I've a painful confession to make, (and please don't judge me, I know Thomas has a lot of fans and I don't mean to offend them), Thomas is supposed to be my third route, but I've decided that I'm not going to do this ep with him, at least not for a while. His behavior in this ep towards Roy has bothered me too much. Roy is his coworker and he's always been nice to him, he doesn't deserve to be embarrassed and have his privacy exposed like this, they're supposed to be friends! Not enemies like Jason with them! Also, I've been finding in these last few episodes that the answers that raise the lovometer with Thomas don't fit with me or my oc at all, and I'm not willing to keep lying just to raise the lovometer. I don't know what I'll do in the future, maybe I'll go back to the Thomas route if he wins my heart again in the next eps, or maybe not, and in that case I'll do the Roy route on that account instead.

Overall, thanks to Amanda and Roy, the episode in my Jason-Amanda routes was very funny, fortunately, and I'm also aware that New Gen is fiction and you shouldn't take it the wrong way, yes, I don't, but honestly, if BV wanted to make an episode with an excuse to show Roy naked and/or Candy having a moment like that with her crushes, I think they could have done it better in another way. The only scene I see justified and believable enough is Amanda's, since they're in a spa and they're women. And I'm not talking about realism, I'm talking about verisimilitude within fiction. I don't know, maybe they all went to a nude beach for some event instead of the pool? And then Candy took a bath like that as a challenge or because a wave made her lose her bikini? Or that Candy wins a free couple spa session ticket and invites her crush! Or that Candy catches Roy naked by mistake simply because she's curious to see him during his common training and she didn't know he bathed naked afterwards? Or that the whole "Roy goes naked in the pool" thing was just a false rumor made up by his fangirls and that when Roy arrived he laughed and said that it was all a lie or that he had spread the rumor to play a joke on them in revenge for something they had done to him before. Or better: wait for more episodes, when we were already in a relationship with our route, and then a nude scene with our route would arise in a more natural way? Like you and your partner wanting to swim together in the private pool at Candy's house, for example, or shower together. At least those scenarios wouldn't let Thomas, Devon and the others act like a bad friend to Roy.

Lastly, something positive: all the images were wonderful! The faces and bodies of all the characters are very beautiful, the luminosity and colors are also very well done, and I liked that there was some variety in some routes and not all of them were in the pool. Also, I was really glad to guess that the promotional image of Candy with the towel belonged to Jason!

I finally decided to write my thoughts about the game down! So here is my own "little" review, which is in fact quite long, and segmented in three parts, beginning with a general review, then my personal opinions on the LIs, and finally some more specific likes and dislikes.

General Opinion

First off, the interface is refreshing, and I appreciate all the efforts put into it, although I admit it can be quite heavy, and therefore buggy (even without anything else running, on a good laptop). For this reason I'd like being able to disable some features (the animation of the transition between pages, for example, gives me a lot of troubles).

I like that Candy can have a more defined personality, and I also like how we can better understand the intention behind the answers now. No more "what? but that was not what I meant by choosing this"! For the new AP and gems system… I am still wary of it for now, and will see later if it is really as manageable as it seems. I also like sending hearts to other players, so even if they don't end up useful I'm still happy to have them I personally like the idle mini-games, and am quite curious about how the other game will be. I also think the calendar is a nice touch. And lastly, the jokers seem nice and promising, though I would have preferred having a stock-limit instead of them being temporary.

Story-wise, I like that things are going rather quickly for the beginning, and I trust they'll know when to slow things down later. I saw a few reviews saying these two first episodes felt punitive, and let me tell you… Yes. Amanda disliking me right of the bat on my first play was unexpected. So was Roy. And Devon. But I think it is kind of the point of starting a new game, we don't know their personalities yet, so it's quite normal to screw up when not using guides. But yeah, it was frustrating and Devenmentiel broke my heart.

The Love Interests

Jason is my favorite so far. Why you may ask? … I find him funny. The man is just having fun being an annoying bitch, and I absolutely love that for him! He also was one I had a quite good Lo'M with at my first play without even trying (rip Roy and Devon who did not appreciate), and it felt quite nice since things did not go so well with most of the other characters. And of course being the antagonist has its own ring, and in my taste the white streaks of hair too.

Amanda comes in the second place with Thomas. Even though my first play did not go well with her, I managed better on my second, and I quite like the relaxed Amanda.

For Thomas, he is the one I had the easiest time with on my first play, everything went smoothly and I found him pretty nice and relatable, though I do not plan on following his route.

Devon is the one I am the most neutral about I think, I don't particularly like or dislike him yet, though his route does intrigue me in a "Ah shit, here we go again" kind of way.

… Now, listen. I do not dislike Roy. He honestly seems like a great dolphin-loving guy who likes to be half-naked a lot and decided to dislike me when I was trying hard for him not to! He is just not my type. This is nothing personal, I swear! Joke aside, Roy is the one I like the least for now. And honestly, it is a shame, because I totally see why other people appreciate him. But the warningless half-nakedness happening twice summed to his for now unexplained short-patience with Jason really did not woo me, quite the opposite in fact.

Other things I like:

I find Candy's customization quite good! Whether it is for the illustrations, where you can choose between different skin colors, or for our profiles. Candy can also have disability aids (though no mobility aids yet) and a panel of skin features for really cheap, and you can not know how happy it makes me! There also are so much outfits from the beginning, and though many of them have to be paid with real money, Beemoov needs to be profitable, so I think it's rather fair (and hopefully, we'll be able to get those outfits through mini-games).

The music and the animation. I said it before and I'll say it again, I absolutely adored the theme switch when Jason appeared, and I also liked the creativity in the animation very much too. I can not wait for other such things to happen again.

Things I find too bad:

So far there has only been one character that is not thin (two if you count Danica who will show up later), and I regret that all of the men Love Interests are so fit. I can not tell you how down bad I would have been for a fat Devon or Roy (I get that Roy is the athletic type here, but you can be incredibly strong and not be skinny).

Amanda being rich was really emphasized, too much for my taste, on my first play it made me feel like being rich was her main personality trait, which made me uncomfortable. I would have preferred a more subtle way to express it (show don't tell amiright?).

I would have loved to see more not-conventionally-thought-as-attractive features in the LIs, like visible disabilities for example, or different noses, or scars, the kind of things that make the characters feel more real.

What I hope for later:

For the characters of color to be written like ones, with at least their cultures included in some aspects of the game. I understand Beemoov's wish to keep the game lighthearted, so I'd personally understand if they choose not to show racism in the game, but I would also hate that to be an excuse for ignoring the characters' cultures when addressing them would actually be relevant. Here is a better post about the matter.

More non-skinny characters.

Hopefully some in-game disability representation.

Things I love about My Candy Love New Gen ♡

If something doesn't make sense, yes it's my fault, I haven't studied enough English yet and I'm having to translate😭😭

I think one of the first things I liked right from the start was the personality system. I found it really fun and I just loved that Ysaline's personality updates as we complete more chapters. It makes me wonder: I started as a rebellious girl, will I be a new person in the end???

I also like how extensive Candy's customization is. I personally love making ocs, and I constantly feel like I don't have enough accounts to suppress my need to create lots of personalities and styles haha😅

I'm passionate about art and I go crazy with the scenarios and illustrations in the chapters🥺🤍. They are so beautiful, my heart flutters every time I unlock a new illustration with Jason/Devon (they are all perfect, but these are my favorites and I needed to highlight them)

I saw some people talking about not really liking the game revolving around something more "serious" and "common"; an employee having co-workers as love interests, something about us playing the game to escape our reality and the game shouldn't portray that. I completely disagree, in fact, I would venture to say that it is one of the best points in the game!! It makes me think: Wow, I could be living this hehe👀😈

The dynamics between the characters are also good and I like how each one has their own particularity. As Devon tells us at the beginning, there are very different people working together and that makes things more interesting, I totally agree with him. In fact, for the record, among Devenementiel employees I would say that my personality is most similar to Brune's.🙈

Last but not least: I simply LOVE how my life always fits in some aspect than Ysaline's, or as we think similar sometimes. Whenever something happens, I have this thought and the moment I skip the dialogue, it is written there or I have the option to choose it in full letters. Your little sister is an exact replica of my little sister, we have a kind and acidic relationship too, it's a really fun coexistence and I would like to keep that in the game, again, it makes things more real for me. Another fact also happened in chapter 3, where we are asked if we like cooking and if you answer yes, she will say that she cooked for her sister because her mother had to work and... YES!! That's right, I really identified with it, it couldn't be more accurate, this is so insane🤩🤩

My second crush is Thomas, I liked his aloofness a lot in the beta. Plus he's really cute. My third crush is Roy. Honestly I wasn't super impressed with him in the crossover event, he felt a bit flat, but I enjoyed his interactions in the beta. I kinda like how he flirt without realising he's flirting.

Aaaaand I really didn't want to have more than 3 crushes this time, but... I kinda like Devon too 😩 I like how he can switch from nice, friendly guy, to super serious boss in 0.1s, it's kinda hot.

What can I do anon, once a hoe, always a hoe, I'm gonna have a harem once again. We cannot fight our own nature.

I'm going to try to be a sensible hoe though, and play Devon and Roy's routes for free, while Jason and Thomas will be my mains. I plan to buy the VIP subscription for them, hopefully a subscription won't cost more than 10€ 🤞🏻

Can I show you my new MCs? I'm not giving them names, they're all Ysaline for me, not planning to make full OCs, but I spent a long time deciding what they should look like. Especially trying to think what they would look like next to their LI (because 12 years ago I messed up when I made my Castiel Candy, and gave her the same hair colour, and since then all their illustrations have looked like some incestuous twins Lannister situation 😭😭)

She exists for the sole reason that I never had a blonde MC and I wanted these girls to be totally different from my old Candys. So I went for a more traditional blonde blue eyes look.

Episode 11 Review (Jason & Thomas)

I actually have rather little to say about this one, overall it was an okay-ish episode and it didn’t have much in it for me (still keeping it under the cut to contain the yapping lol)

One of th few times I saw both routes fully, i usually only go see Thomas' special scenes and illustration but I was pretty curious about this one and I am starting to like him more and more, the scene felt so shooooooorrrrt I wish they had talked more and discussed his finger licking habits 👁👁 the ilustration was very pretty too, i LOVE his expression~ I was a bit sad when we couldnt go to the planetarium :c I hope its a hint for a future episode, maybe an actual date?

Now Jason's route... I am a damn broken CD repeating myself over and over but I really and i mean REALLY dislike Ysaline. She is such a brat and so rude and judgy for no reason.

The whole "uuuuggghh i dont want to have dinner with himmmmm but i gave my woorrrddd but i dont want to be with hiiiimmmm" was so silly cause... dont go? say no? whats he gonna do sue you for hurting his feelings? why are u acting like u have a gun to your head lmao and also why are you acting like spending time alone with him is a torture? the last few times you two spend time together he was sweet and kind, he opened up to you, he helped you and clearly showed you that he DOES like you as a person!! what is there to hate at this point i dont get it, and youre also obviously horny for him get your shit together

And just dipping from his house leaving the dinner there.... I'm sorry that is extremely rude I cant deal with that. The reasoning is, again, so stupid. No, she is not betraying her company because (like Jason says) the rivalry is between him and Devon, Ysaline is not part of the equation she is not even a variable to consider. And no, she is not betraying her "friends" either because she has none! the game is very focused on the route to the point of our MC not making friends, this is not HSL where you got to constantly interact with the cast, raise their LOM, get to know them, etc. Here Ysaline is alone with her LI (and I cant take the argument of "the friendship happens behind the camera" cause thats just lazy af and leaving up to the VIEWER to fill in plot holes, for all I know she could also be addicted to cocaine and thats why she doesnt have money to pay the groceries).

Anyway, her bullshit aside, I actually loved Jason this episode! He is funny, witty, bratty in his charming way, he is so gentlemany, he cooks for her, drives her in his car (sighs like a teenager). I really like his character these past few episodes (it does bother me tho that this ep is SO bland without the special scene :/) and i hope he continues this way !!

Back to bitching- Just to quickly comment on the whole cameo thing: I am not a fan. I dont really mind them per se and I am not bubbling with rage, the cameos are well placed and they make sense and dont feel super out of pocket (amoris is a small city after all) but... I want our own characters, I want our own NPCs to interact with semi-frequently, I looooved the introduction of Devon's brothers and that cap remains my fav up to date (i want to rewatch it on Thomas' route again just to see Tasha and the boys more~). I want more characters that Ysaline can befriend and forge friendships with :c

That's pretty much all, like I said a mid chapter, not bad but not good. Pretty curious about the next one and how Jason will fit there!

My Candy Love New Gen Episode 8- Little Review&Commentary

!Spoilers Ahead!

I'm not that excited while writing this review today because I honestly feel like a lot of people clocked beemov's ass really fast in regards to how innapropriate this whole story was and i respect the good points ppl made. I don't know how much i can add to this discussion then you guys.

No matter how much some members of the fandom might imply we are being dramatic or harsh in our opinions, i don't agree with them at all. And i want a little round of applause to y'all for not letting this slide.

Devon and Thomas are the two characters that change the story's direction in the way of Ysaline choosing to go with them (everyone but Amanda basically) to try to spy on Roy.

I honestly didn't have any opinion about Devon prior to this but being on Thomas's route currently, this whole thing pissed me off. I really think Thomas has a pretty privilege or something because imagine if there was a guy in your office (well, two guys) that suggested you go spy on your naked coworker and they weren't conventionally attractive 😭 Wouldn't you be more creeped off? Just goes to show attractive people be getting away with everything.

Thomas being possibly/probably being neurodivergent has been discussed here before but like, the comments he made and the way he acted was not it. Grown adults acting like spies.

Devon being their boss and still doing that shit to his supposed "friend" was also an hr nightmare.

Amanda won my heart in this episode by having some sense to refuse to go. Everyone acting like she is so stuck up was the only realistic part of this episode tbh. Feeling like you are the only sane person in a work setting is real.

Also beemov making Amanda openly imply this whole idea is off putting and innapropriate makes this whole thing worse. Like you knew what you were doing& how it might have been recieved by writing this.

I played the whole thing towards Thomas's illu to see what happens&how bad the episode went. As i predicted, we didn't see him naked (of course...) and i was relieved this shit didn't get more out of pocket.

Also when it comes to the special scene&illustration, i agree with people saying our romance is moving a little too fast. Like i'm not shaming anyone who says they love quick-paced heated romance stories or games. Nor do i shame people who say they would move fast like this with their date/crush irl. Honestly everyone can do whatever they want as long as they are safe. You do you.

But like is it that crazy not to expect Ysaline being naked in front of the guy she have known for only a few weeks, without not even properly kissing him? (the one on ep 7 doesn't count, come on.)

MCL games usually have more classic slowburn romance elements and i didn't expect this.

I wish i played Amanda's route before but seeing im on this journey with Thomas, i think he has an issue with personal boundaries and this is gonna be pretty interesting..

Thoughts on MCLNG Episode 9

this episode did cost me 2759AP without using any jokers (i couldn’t wait until tomorrow when i’ll could have get a super deal, nevermind🥲), now i’m broke lol

reminder: it’s just MY opinion

it was a quite long episode, Devon’s brothers are really sweet and smart too!! but what i had to do with my OWN sister for a MAN (Jason) it was well… cruel. i felt so sorry for her. to be honest, i can’t get along with kids or teenagers in real life either, even with my own sister (we have an 11 year age gap so i guess it’s understandable), but it was too harsh for me too. they could have add another option which could’ve been more kind. (btw what was that one sentence with the word “devil” in it?? he’s just our rival, we’re not in hell omg ysa don’t be so dramatic. plus we all know you would (and eventually will) f. with him💀)

anyways, the story was pretty good (it was time, after the previous one🧍🏻‍♀️), but the things with Jason seems a bit rushed, again, please beemoov i’m sure there’s a lot of people who love slow burn stories (hi, it’s me), we know, you have to fit in a certain number of chapters blah blah blah (we couldn’t care less), but please for the love of god SLOW DOWN. don’t get me wrong, i loved when Jason finally opened up to us and i almost cried too, because of his backstory (i’m a disaster) but, i mean he’s still a stranger, even if you know someone since decades, they still can contain surprises, or even a disappointment. but overall i liked the episode and the illustration (even if i’ll have to edit it, cuz their faces killing me, like where are we even looking bro😭the man is in front of us, are you blind)
