so I'm watching this video on the Xiongnu right and I see this guy Li Guang pop up

and some part of my brain lights up and I go 'hey isn't this the guy who lost so bad that he ended up defecting to the Xiongnu side' - AND SO I check the book

aw I guess I was wrong. BUT THEN I CHECK THE WIKI

WHAT. THE FUCK. I JUST MISSED BY TWO GENERATIONS I GUESS???

#Li is an incredibly common surname and to think that I ended up being partially right is making me go insane #anyway if anyone has any good books to read on the xiongnu PLEASE tell me about them #chinese history #xiongnu #ugh I really wanna tag san guo because I know there are people following that tag and they *will* know of more reading material #but also this is not even remotely related to san guo - I have no excuse to put the tag here (such sacrifice👏)#I really love crespigny's style btw. very campfire story-like writing
