BnHA Team Up Mission Chapter Zero: All Might Does Paperwork

Previously on Team Up Mission: Oh wait.

Today on Team Up Mission: The HPSC is all “from the minds that brought you such great initiatives as ‘indoctrinating a child at age seven and telling him he won’t need his name anymore’ and ‘mandatory internships’ comes a groundbreaking new form of child endangerment!” Everyone is all “wow!” and totally on board, and the HPSC is all “okay great, just remember to sign up by the deadline!” We then cut to All Might on the day of the deadline, and guess who forgot to sign up. The rest of the chapter is just All Might and his struggles to hand in a form. It’s not the most exciting thing to ever happen in a manga, but happen it does, and in the next chapter we’re apparently going to get Mirko, and so I don’t know about you, but I was willing to be patient! Also there is one page where Todoroki is all “Bakugou you and I have to be sexy for a page” and Bakugou is like “fine” and so they are. Because Akiyama knows what the people want.

This is barely edited at all because it’s 11:30pm on a Sunday night and I put very minimal effort into it so yeah lols.

-- oh hey, this is the same person who wrote Deku/Bakugou Rising! which incidentally I read part of the first chapter of but then had to stop in the middle, and never got around to finishing. if I’m being honest that was also a bit harder to recap because of it dealing with Kacchan and Deku’s middle school years, which I know the fandom has A LOT OF STRONG FEELINGS ABOUT needless to say, and so reading a two-part flashback about that topic and having it not be written by Horikoshi himself kind of made me antsy because the entire time I was reading it, all I was thinking was “please don’t fuck this up” over and over again lol. somehow it was really stressful. but it’s been half a year since that came out and everyone’s had a chance to read it and the fandom never imploded over it or anything so I’m guessing it was probably fine. I should go back and finish it up. BUT FIRST THINGS FIRST

and so this chapter zero is apparently fifteen pages long. I’m pretty sure I can finish that in one night. why did I start reading this after nine o’clock. that was smart

none of these people look familiar so I don’t think it’s a “keep them secret to surprise the audience later” type of thing. maybe just a random artistic choice that I’m over analyzing for no reason!

also, “this seems like a good cause” damn, that’s some effective PR. I guess “raising the next generation of heroes” does sound a lot better than “throwing a bunch of kids at the problem now that All Might isn’t around to keep the villains in line anymore”

oh my god at first I thought he was talking about Mirko (because I just have her on the brain, ngl there’s a reason I was able to power through this chapter at what for me is a very reasonable speed), but then I saw that panel of the mystery girl down below, and I’m like 95% sure that’s Melissa from the first movie?? so that’s interesting! and I also see that Mei is there, and she’s not even in the hero program. but she is an inventor who specializes in hero gear same as Melissa, so yeah. interested to see where this is headed

so now Deku’s in bed and pulling his covers up to his chin and smiling and thinking that his first team up mission starts tomorrow and that he’s excited

and then the chapter just ends lmao. SO THAT’S WHAT A CHAPTER ZERO IS, HUH. it sure is unnecessary and pleasantly forgettable lol

anyway so I’ll try to read the Mirko one soon! tomorrow if I get the chance. I doubt I’ll be able to finish all of the currently available chapters within this coming week but I’ll do my best and we will see
