I just saw the post you reblogged about cultural foods and I absolutely HATE that people don’t acknowledge that bagels are a Jewish food. I’m not even Jewish, but I hate seeing “bagels” that are literally just bread rolls shaped in a ring, or the shitty recreations people try to make from just Greek yogurt and flour in the name of “health”. The fact that people think that bagels are just some boring, mundane food when they have so much culture to them is sad. Anyway, I hope this wasn’t too weird
Wjdjdjej tbh I don't really mind variations on how bagels are made ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ bagels do have a lot of interesting history and culture behind them fully agreed but with how foods work in the cultural melting pot of America anyway it's not really uncommon for the smaller things to go unnoticed for their historical value 😔🤙 Judaism's made a ton of cultural additions to American cuisine but bagels were too good to just be kept to ourselves I suppose lmao
#Also you're totally fine dw this wasn't weird at all#I mean jews also made brisket but that one isn't acknowledged much eugjer#*either
