I told my mother that I might have ADHD and I may need to see a psychologist to diagonose it properly and correctly.

Guess what happened?

She gaslighted me. She fucking gaslighted me. It took me so so much courage to face her and tell her this and do you know what she did? The moment I finished speaking, she said I'm just lazy and my sleep schedule is fucked up and I'm faking it all. I don't need no psychologist. I should rather just focus on my studies and stop reading about this bullshit.

She said that "So you're saying that you want to focus on a task, but you cannot and keep thinking about it the all day?" I was hopeful here thinking that maybe, maybe just for once she understood me, but what was I thinking? She proceeded to say, "You're just faking it and you're lazy"

Why would I think about my parents understanding me? Stupid fool. Thinking my own mother would give me some love and understanding. Stupid Stupid.

Akka I'm really sorry for reminding you of neet now but i need some advice. I'm scoring around 150 in neet with it being my first attempt along with me not attending most of my coaching classes. My mind is split now, whether i actually deserve a drop and want it or not. they say a person develops a kind of love towards a subject, which they can pursue later on in life. I don't have love towards any subject of mine so far. I don't know what to do :(

It depends on your financial situation and if you have any other interests. If you can afford to take another year to reappear in neet again, and if you ok with pursuing this path, then one generally takes a drop year.

If you want to pursue another field, totally unrelated to sciences: say, photography, or psychology, or drama, then a talk with your parents or guardians is of use. The field of medical study cannot be easy, but if you take it up with hate, then it cannot ever give good results.

If you aren't sure to pursue any other field, then you can think about taking a drop year.

As someone with personal experience on taking a drop and its toll on physicality and mental health, I have to give you an idea on how it works. You have to work constantly and mind your score, give lots of mock tests. You might or might not have enough spare time to exercise or destress the way you want. It is better to study in a group (with like-minded people and friends in the same situation as you) or take a coaching class that guides you along the path.

I cannot make the decision for you and neither can you alone. Aap ko abhi hi decision nahi leni hai. Lekin thodi jaldi leni hogi. If you aren't taking a gap year, you might want to apply for other colleges with courses you want to pursue.

Dhyaan se sochna please, aur drop deserve karna sirf ek had tak sahi hota hai. Agar aap kaam karna chaho to you deserve to give it a try.

First Solo Backpacking To Himachal ~ Vashist, Manali, Naggar

“Arre abhi toh ayi hai beti, phir kaha jaa rahi hai?!”, the elderly uncle whom I had asked the way to my homestay exclaimed. I told him that I planned to check out the nearby village and trek to Jogni falls through the jungle. “Dhyaan se jaana aur jaldi aana, barish kabhi bhi shuru ho jaati hai yaha”. I smiled and left. These ever so kind and pure people of the hills are one of the reasons that I fell in love with the mountains. After a crazy time of shifting from Manipur to Chandigarh, setting up a new ‘fauji ghar’ and making it home, scary exam schedules of the husband, I finally made up my mind that I had to leave for the mountains to stay sane. Four months of this married life schedule and I had to run to the mountains. Don’t get me wrong from the above paragraph, I absolutely adore being married to my boy and this fauji life, but then, we all need our me time, right?! And what better way than traveling.

Trust me when I say, this is so so near Chandigarh! Do you know the best part about being posted to Chandigarh?! Other than being a beautiful city with those aesthetic cafes with exotic menu and those roadside dhabas with that finger-licking good ‘khana’ and those delicious parathas with ghee makkhan and cheese, little shopping places where you can pick up some very unique kinds of stuff and those beautiful hill stations just a stone’s throw away! It is indeed one of the best places to get posted.

The husband and I took a ride on a Sunday and in just half an hour we got this view! How lovely is it! So, when we landed in Chandigarh, the first thing I did was to check out the places nearby. And I tell you if you love exploring, the neighbor state Himachal can be a treat! And after asking around a few friends I decided I did not need to wait for anyone to start exploring this beautiful neighboring state. So, I packed my bag, caught a bus and set out.

Early morning stopovers in bus rides The Trip Begins It was around 9 am when I reached Manali and I took an auto to Vashist main temple. As a solo traveler, your first experience can always be such a confidence booster and for me, this auto ride was one. The auto wale uncle was the sweetest! I told him I needed to use a washroom on the way if it was possible and also had to get a change for my 2000INR notes to start with. He took me to a nearby public toilet which he assured would be clean and empty (and it was) and all the while he looked after my bag. After that, he took me to his friend’s bakery where he got my money changed. After that, while we headed to the destination, he was sweet enough to tell me all the local bus timings and the places that were good for solo travelers.

Vashist Once the home of the Vashist clan, this little village is famous for the temple of Guru Vashist and one of the main attractions of the temple remains the hot spring for Indians and foreigners alike.

Guru Vashist Temple! However, it was not the temple that attracted me to Vashist. A few weeks before when I was yet to decide on a place to visit for my solo trip, I received a message from my friend who has been a hippie all his life. He sent me pictures of the homestay he was in and invited me to stay for a few days. He had spent 10 years in the area and also ran a homestay in Manali a few years back. He knew every nook and corner of the place and so I thought of taking advantage of this opportunity. The auto dropped me at the main temple and the homestay was ten minutes trek uphill into the village ahead of the temple. The village is a maze and I had to ask around the locals for the correct trail leading there. Though a little confusing to reach, it was worth it!

Salman Khan is an icon. At any point of time there are thousands of fans waiting to get a glimpse of him. But when you meet him, he’s an absolutely simple man who’s extremely approachable and makes sure that you’re at ease in his enormous presence. He has been actively promoting his next film Tubelight, directed by Kabir Khan who was the brain behind the heartwarming Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Tubelight promos are promising another emotional story that can have a connect across the board. Salman Khan along with Sohail Khan in a Bollywood Hungama exclusive conversation with Faridoon Shahryar talks in detail about what makes the film and their bonding so special. They also talk about Om Puri sahib who is part of the film. Salman’s eyes turned moist when he spoke about Om Ji.

“Yeh jung ek roz khatam hogi bas yakeen jalaaye rakhna hoga.” It’s a very important dialogue in the film Tubelight. Not only for the context of the film but also for what is happening across the world. What is the relevance of this particular dialogue in this film?

Salman: War according to me is a waste of time, money and life. When a family member goes for War there is only one prayer hoping that may this war ends soon and may they go back to their families, their wife, parents, children, and their siblings. That’s why it’s a very relevant dialogue. Aur yeh dialogue kitne sadiyo se chalta aa raha hai. Dua karte hain ki aage yeh na chale. I hope that everyone’s Yakeen (Belief) itna strong ho jaaye so that we can sit across table and and sort all issues the way we do business deals.

Before the war sequence, you tell your family “I’ll be back soon” without knowing what you’re getting into, what it means to lead the life of a soldier. How did you approach this character?

Sohail: We come from a small village called Jagatpur. We hear at the radio that India and China are going through some conflict. And Indian government is going to small towns to recruit Jawans. Toh tab hum sabko pata lagta hai ki whoever is capable, would have to join the army and fight for the country. Lekin kyu lad rahe hai kis liye lad rahe hai,yeh kisiko pata nahin. But yes there is an excitement because we all are really patriotic about the fact that we have got an opportunity to be part of the Indian forces, to serve our country. I get to know that I have been selected but my elder brother hasn’t been selected. Then I have to leave for a brief training and then head towards the sensitive areas. So that happens in the beginning of the film.

Salman: A brother leaves and the other brother stays back. Story is that Chacha Nehru didn’t want the war to happen but still the war happens (between India and China). We have a few soldiers while the opposition has far more so we don’t stand a chance. Aisa laga tha ki army mein chala jayega, 3 saal service karega aur phir aake bhai ko protect karega. Ek toh army ki bhi naukri mil gayi aur phir 5 saal baad chhod bhi diya toh pension se apne bhai ko sambhal payega. But here the war starts. All hell breaks loose. And then 2 Chinese come in their village. That is Zhu Zhu and Matin. And all the villagers hate them that why these Chinese have come here. They (Chinese) are killing our brothers and you are supporting them. But they are not Chinese; they are Indians who had been living here for a long time. It is their own country but since they look like Chinese and had been living in India for the last three generations but the atmosphere in the village is very hostile. So how the whole story comes in, it’s a beautifully woven story. Jaise Bajrangi ki story yeh thi k ek aadmi jisko pata chalta hai ke bachchi Pakistan se hai aur usse bolne nahi aata, isse Pakistan chodke aana hai. But the way screenplay is woven, it’s a different thing altogether. Line toh story ki yehi hoti hai par jis tareeke se usse weave karna hai, kis tareh usse pirona hai, humor, comedy, action woh important hai.

What you’re saying is wonderful, but do you feel that labeling of people because of their nationality is bad? Ultimately humanity is lost in the whole process.

How can anyone have control on the fact that where he/ she will be born!

From whatever you have done so far in the past as an actor, how significant is this movie for you?

Sohail: It’s a beautiful role and I am very fortunate to have a platform like this. Salman bhai heard the script first, then my father heard it and while the narration was on Kabir himself told that I don’t have much time to establish the brother’s character. So if I take real brothers they will connect with audience instantly. I think that has paid off because now when we watch the film, we feel audience doesn’t have to go through that journey.

Salman: We don’t have to do that establishment ki yeh bhai hain, bachpan se leke jawani tak unki bonding establish karne woh dikh jaata hai ki yeh acting kar rahe hai par jo bachpan se leke aaj tak bhai hai  par sab ko pata hai ki Sohail mera chhota bhai hai woh instant ek connect aa jaata hai.

How important is ‘Tinka Tina’ song? We have seen in Bajrangi Bhaijaan the importance of emotional songs and how if you can have that connect it works very well with the audience. How important is the emotional quotient?

Salman: It is very important. If you don’t involve with the audience and don’t excite them what’s the point. They smile with you, they laugh with you, they cry with you. So once all these three emotions come with you on screen, then you have nothing to worry about. Koi picture aake aise he dekh raha hai aur uska connect nahi toh woh picture kabhi nahin chalegi. So when you watch the movie and you see all this happen to these boys, that really touches you.

I spoke to Kabir Khan this morning and he said that this is Salman’s best performance by miles. How do you react to something like that?

Salman: Every film I have heard this (laughs) Kharaab picture ke liye bhi bolte hain aise.

There was a time in the recent past when you were delivering blockbuster after blockbuster but with Bajrangi Bhaijaan you broke the image as it was antithetical of your style. No one had seen you like that. No shirtless scenes, very limited action and in Tubelight the guy can’t fight for sure. 

Salman: When you do a period war film based in 1962, the three main things that take you back in that time are costumes, art director and D.O.P (director of photography). These three are the main people that make you believe that aap 1962 mein hai. A whole lot of research went in the look. Alvira, Ashley and Lipakshi have done that. Lipakshi has done everybody else’s clothes. Mine and Sohail’s costume have been designed by Alvira and Ashley. Aseem Mishra who has done Ek tha Tiger, Bajrangi Bhaijaan with me has also been a huge plus point. He is huge plus point for me and Kabir, very fast and he really has good temperament. Then art director has done a fabulous job too. He is the same guy who did Kick, Sultan and Bajrangi Bhaijaan with me. He actually has put up all these sets that we see in the songs. It is one of the largest set anyone has ever put up. It’s larger than basti that we put up in Sultan. It is about 3 and half acres of pakka solid set. You could keep the set standing there for 20 years and nothing will happen to it. These are the people very responsible for the look of the film. Also the people who set thing up there, the props etc. That is how the world is created. If the research was not done well, this detailing wouldn’t have been possible.

This is also Om Puri Ji’s last film and you had the privilege of sharing screen space with him. How was that experience?

Sohail: It was my first film with him and we have all known him as a fabulous actor. But I genuinely believe that he was a fabulous actor because he was a fabulous human being. He was a very good guy. I was fortunate to spend a lot of time with him and it’s very sad what has happened. Tubelight will be remembered more for him than anything else.

Salman: We had a great time. I have done about 7 – 8 films with him. He was a fabulous man and I loved him. I saw a change happening in him. He started losing his balance in Bajrangi. I used to keep on telling him yahan pe jab aap chal rahe ho, dhyaan do aapka jo stance hai There are wires and trolleys here, be careful. You know kya karte hai carpet bicha dete hain aur carpet ubarkhaabad ho jaata hai. Toh I had seen this change from Bajrangi till now. He almost used to trip and that was my biggest fear. It was really sad when everything happened. I was travelling outdoors when I heard about the news.  But when I saw the rushes of the film for the first time and I felt bad. If somebody was home this wouldn’t have happened and he would have been with us here giving interviews. And when I saw the film I felt he hasn’t gone anywhere. He is there with us.

His role is bigger than that of Bajrangi Bhaijaan?

Salman:  Much bigger and it’s a beautiful role. And he completed the film.

He finally managed to find her, wonder what would have happened if he didn't land up there in time. He could hear the jingle of her earrings but wasn't able to see her. He was desperate to find her as she, being a problem magnet always attract problems towards her, well not only problems but even you get attracted towards her, don't you? Pia was going in search of her mother and how much ever he tried to explain her that he's not evil, he's not bad, he didn't harm Professor Nishant purposefully, she was not in a mood to listen to him or let him accompany her. She was mad at him for many reasons and he couldn't blame her for that. As soon as she pulled out that wood away from his body, she left. He was screaming on top of his voice telling her to stop as she might get into some other trouble but instead she created an invisible barrier between them and left from there. "PIA", he shouted and facepalmed himself. This girl can't even stay away from problems even for a second and wants to go alone, he cursed under his breath. He immediately ran towards her and this time even the invisible force didn't stop him from reaching his Pia, his mate. Without thinking any further he straight away jumped into the pool and held her by her waist with one hand holding her hand tight. As soon as he touched her, his eyes started glowing and she always loved when his eyes glowed. It showed the spark that he have for her. She struggled under his hold and was yelling at him, "Main khud apni madad kar sakti hoon, tumhe meri fikr karne ki koi zaroorat nahi hai. Chodo mujhe!" This time he wasn't in a mood to listen, "Tum itni ziddi kyun ho Pia? Mai jo kar raha hu, mujhe karne do." Saying so he lifted her in his arms and she had the flashback of their earlier pool encounter where he left her inside the pool, she came out of her trance as soon as they both came out of the pool. "Tumhara dhyaan kaha rehta hai, dekh kar nahi chal sakti?" She was about to say something but he sushed her by saying, "Ab aur kuch mat kaho." This time in a calm tone she said, "Main bas ye keh rahi thi ki main khud bahar aa sakti thi." She began to go from there but since they were standing at the edge of the pool and due to the water she slipped and he caught hold of her in time. His grip on her waist was tighter this time to prevent her from falling back. He wanted to hold her close to him for the rest of his life and never letting her go away from him at any cost. He made her stand properly and stated, "Kuch hi der me andhera hone wala hai, is tarah se jungle me bhatakta theek nahi hoga. Aaj raat hum isi ghar me rukenge." For a change, she didn't argue and agreed. Both of them went inside the house and Pia started drying her hairs with her dupatta. Ansh sat at a distance and was mesmerized by Pia. He wanted to distract his mind from thinking all sorts of weird things which he had been thinking from past couple of weeks since she agreed to stay at Rathore House but his mind had already started running in a different direction. Pia herself was the biggest distraction for Ansh and she standing in front of him that too totally wet was not helping. The water dripping from her hairs made him want her more. He wanted to kiss every inch of her body and mark her as his, only and only his. He noticed that due to being wet her kurti was sticking to her body and it showed far more than it covered. He couldn't take it anymore and stood just behind her, he stroked her bare back with his fingers, she froze at her spot for a second and turned back only to meet his gaze which was brimming with desires. She tries to say something but seeing him so close to him, she lost her courage to say or do anything. With each step of him taking forward she started moving back till she hit the wall and as soon as she hit the wall she closed her eyes. Ansh blocked her between him and the wall, touched her face gently with the back of his fingers and loved how she reacts to his touches. He demanded her to open her eyes, "Pia! Meri aankhon me dekho." She didn't respond, he said again "Pia... aankhen kholo." She opened her eyes slowly but didn't dare to look into his eyes and lowered her face. Ansh held her chin and lifted her face to meet her gaze. He was intensely looking at her eyes which were the key to her soul. Without speaking a word their eyes said it all, the angst, the love, the desire, the longing which they had for each other. "Tumhe bhi mere paas aane se utna hi farq padta hai jitna ki mujhe." He stated. "Lekin main kabhi bhi aisa kuch nahi karunga jo tumhari marzi ke khilaaf ho" saying so he gave her enough time to back out if she wanted to but she didn't even move an inch. She wanted to be there, this close or maybe more close to him forever. He got his answers, "Mujhe mera jawab mil gaya and now I don't think I would be able to hold it back anymore." He gently brushed this thumb on her lips and she held the cloth of her kurti tightly which didn't go unnoticed by Ansh. Before he could do anything more, she hugged him and this time very tightly. He hugged her back without hesitating and his hands started roaming all over her back. They stood there in the same position for very long. They broke the hug but Pia still being in Ansh's arms, she gently caressed his face to reassure that this isn't a dream. "Ye sach hai Pia aur main tumhare saath hoon, tumhare paas hoon." He said looking into her eyes. Her eyes were moist and said rather asked, "Tum dobara mujhe kabhi chodkar nahi jaaoge na?" "Pia main itna bada lappujhanna bhi nahi hu jo tumhe chodh ke jaaun" he said making her giggle. He felt happy seeing her smile after so many days. "Aisehi hansti raha karo." As Pia was still in his arms, Ansh started getting naughty thoughts. He checked her out from top to bottom and said, "Pia tumhare kapde..." She read his thoughts and became all red like a tomato and said, "Ansh tum kitne bade lappujhanne ho, mujhe pata hai tumhare dimaag me kya chal raha hai!" Saying so she pushed him back and was about to run but he held her hand and pulled her back in his arms. Her back collided with his taut frame and he hugged her from back encircling his hands around her belly.
