Song of the Week

As is often the case, I am cautiously optimistic about this weeks offerings. Let’s see if I’m disappointed or not! (TVXQ might have a comeback next week too apparently? so that’s a thing I’m dealing with now)

Honorable Mentions:

I wish I liked the style of June’s Tonight more. Because his vocals are amazing as always, but I’ve never really been a fan of this particular style of retro. That being said, the mix is clean as all get out, and the vocal pull is mixed in at the right level, which is something that the big companies struggle with, so Planetarium has no right to do it so well.

Bizzy is too old to 1. be putting out this style of rap track and 2. look this good doing it. Actually though. The chorus of BzB is minorly addicting, the beat is simple and compelling. It does remind me of some previous MFBTY stuff, which makes total sense, but with less impressive vocals outside of the rap verses (which are very very good). Definitely worth a listen if you know him, or like the Korean rap scene,

I’m ecstatic that Jay Park is having a comeback. I am sure I will give the full new album a chance to find the songs I really like. Feng Shui, the main single off The Road Less Traveled is . . . fine. It goes pretty good, with just a bit too much autotune for me to be happy, and a baseline heavy track that I just wasn’t feeling. I wanted something more fun for summer (Sexy 4 Eva anyone?). From a very cursory listen of the album, there will actually be quite a bit to like once I give it a chance.

If you wished K-pop was more similar to Western pop, NCT Dream has you covered this week, with their collab with HRVY on Don’t Need Your Love. I enjoyed it well enough, especially the rap verse (which I thought was a nice change for the lead into the final chorus). It is a fine track from them, though definitely not a song to promote. Also, HRVY managed to dance with them, which I will give him some props for.

Teen Top did a great job last year of putting out a sleeper banger. They are trying for a similar followup with Run Away. I think it was pretty successful. I love the electronic marimba/xylophone in the background of every verse and which is brought up some in the chorus. It is a great summer opener, dropped at basically the perfect time of year. It almost got the win for it, but just misses out to . . . 

Fromis_9 made everyone pay attention with Love Bomb last year. Luckily for all of us, FUN! fits into that same style. It is upbeat and driving, with fun (ha) melodic choices, especially in the chorus that repeat the perfect amount of time to be addicting without getting annoying. It also has one of the cutest videos of the year, where the group recreates a bunch of commercials with their own fake brands (probably at least a little bit in a bid to work in those commercials later). It wins for how enjoyable it is from start to end

before u know it, the second ones about to arrive and i havent even got any written posts in. i used to journal EVERyday, what happened?! life. today was going to be the worst day ever because dea let everyone (me) to believe my mom was going to get C of the breast. and it was truly debilitating the moment she called to tell me, truly ominOUS and in the midst of holly starting school, much hectic and crazy! LIFE. 

i have been LOVING parenthood/being hollys mom extra loads lately, it all clicked for me somewhere in the last couple of weeks (around lq’s bday, maybe 2 weeks earlier), just connecting so much more with her now, this little person that i cant believe matt and i made..talking is really a gamechanger for me (as predicted my amelia). its just wayyyyy more fun. and gratifying. and life-giving, to the point i cant sleep sometimes cos im so wired by hollytime. 

when is #2 gonna arrive?? we’ve got a name (holly named her). no one really botheres that much about this second pregnancy, even tho im getting increasingly hot and bothered and my stomach is seriously getting in the way of everything- its def bigger this time around! (boobs arent tender tho, that a plus- well seasoned from preg1). 

got my maternity pics too, deciding how and when i shld post em, also im painting a pool mural- but mostly i wanted to write when holly says she wants long hair/hair LIKE MUMMY it just makes me melt. and when she says she looks like me. and when she says something so specific to me, i feel seen and i feel like its rather engaging and emotionally fulfilling to have a little one in your life (not that i need 3 tho i admit i ENTERTAINED the thought since my moms so despo for it)..pretty sure we r stopping after this. wonder what little t is going to look like/be like! but yes loving holly more now that i understand her better/can COMMUNICATE w her/we can take her out without being scared now, achievement unlocked! dreading the sleepless nights to come, but as with everything nothing is ever permanent. 

just really grateful for everything and how jesus has shown mercy to my mom and our family thru this scare. grateful for matt and that we have 2 little ones, grateful for my crew lq bzb and char and aunty daina, and grace (really shows whos close to u based on who u open up to during a crisis). till the next update!

the students mention their defense against the dark arts professor a little bit too much times whenever you’re teaching but while you’re all “come on class bleh bleh that’s not true,” remus just laughs it off and everyone gets more and more curious 💀

Real Stories with The Real Estate Guy® I first met Bryan running. Yep, he is in a Running Group in which I am part of, Team Red, White & Blue the "Phoenix Chapter" We met on a Tuesday night, in downtown Tempe, probably 3 years ago. Well, the time came around again, and we looked into the process and we were ready. Essentially 3 years after our first introduction, Bryan just signed his closing papers today. I couldn't be there, as I always try to be, as I had a previous commitment this morning. I was hoping to meet and be with him at signing tomorrow afternoon, but it just didn't work out...so he ventured into title today and sat with my Escrow Officer and got it done. Helping buyers buy and sellers sell isn't always automatic. Sometimes, it takes time. Patience and follow up are needed not just on quick deals, but those that are 1, 2 even 3 years away. Bryan sent me a text when we realized we couldn't connect at his signing today: "Hey man, I appreciate you wanting to be there. You're the best  and the only agent I'll ever want to work with." I don't just "sell houses" I put people with houses, I ensure dreams come true.
