PBS Eons is one of my favorites, although they specialize more in paleontology and deep time than archaeology.
Time Team is a classic <3 The old series is great and has some iconic people in it and the new series is really awesome.
Unearthed History - Archaeology Documentaries -- I love their Egypt documentaries and their Extreme Archaeology series
PBS NOVA has a lot of awesome documentaries. The Great Human Odyssey, The First Face of America, and Life's Rocky Start are stellar. (which episodes are free and which you have to pay for changes over time so I'm not sure which episodes are free right now)
National Geographic has some documentaries. I especially love the Albert Lin series--the one about the Incas is my fave
Some of my other favorites include Mystic Britain, Unearthed, anything by Kirk Johnson, anything by David Attenborough and various one-shot indie documentaries.
Watching a video about archeology (specifically debunking a terrible pseudo-archeology show) while knitting and all I can think is how cool history is. Look at all those things people made! Look at what I’m making! Humans are so neat!
It’s a very cozy feeling.
(Also if anyone else has archeology video/podcast recs please let me know I want to listen to more while I craft thank you!)
