Answer to the apprentice name puzzle incoming, so if you want more time to figure it out yourself, don't read below the cut!
Tumblr media
[Things begin to fall into place, as you delve into memories as scattered and disorganized as the passing years' souvenirs strung up on the Ringmasters wall.]
[The longer you stare, the more certain you are that somewhere in your memory, there was once a strange, almost-human but almost-animal hand pinned in the very center of the wall, stuck fast in a strange frame. The only evidence of its existence is the faint handprint of a slightly lighter yellow, where an oddly shaped spot was once shielded from the buildup of dust on these things long forgotten.]
Tumblr media
[Of course! Monkeypaw! Ringstar used to mention him all the time, when you were a kit. But it's been many moons since you've heard the name at all, and try as you might, you can't quite recall the stories that you heard in your youth.]
[Now you remember the name... but what did he look like?]
[Something is strange about the frame, and as you look at it, you realize that it is not merely a frame, but rather, the back of one.] [You reach forward to turn it around, but the naught-but-dust wall behind the nail holding it in place gives way, and with a cloud of plaster, then whole falls to the ground with a mighty crash.]
Tumblr media
[What was once hidden is now revealed, albeit in a confetti array of bright shards gleaming in the candlelight.]

So... you're Darkwick graduates?!? Whats your opinion on the house houses? Specifically Jabberwock
🦌 Ah... Jabberwock? I was good friends with their captain, Elias; I believe he's a campus groundskeeper now. Before my... incident, I was quite fond of many of the anomalies. Obscuary's first year in existence was my fourth year, last year; and their captain was about as active then as I've heard he is now. Fortunately that boy from Clementia who survived was put with him and seemed to take to the vice position well. That's about all I know or have to say about them. Mortkranken... I don't know the ghouls who are in charge there now, but I can only hope they run things better than their predecessors. I felt like a test subject whenever I had to visit their grounds, a shiny new toy, a puzzle to be solved. It was dehumanizing. However... they did take the same side as Hotarubi in the Clash, so I can't say they're really so terrible. Frostheim though? Full of empty people. Jin was promising, but unfortunately the Clash seemed to have pushed him past his breaking point. His housemates hide their emptiness with gossip and shallow words, but he doesn't hide his, instead taking it out on those around him. Those aren't the qualities of a leader, but I suppose I can't speak much to that after my final year as Captain. I like Vagastrom. Some of them are a little rough, but nearly all of them have a good work ethic. They were also our allies in the Clash. I don't have much of an opinion on Sinostra; their methods are often questionable, they always have been, but at least they get the job done.
🦊 Wow... you should be proud of yourself for getting Kami to talk that much lol. Sorry if anyone's offended by his words, he's just, honest. He grew more blunt over the last year, more cynical; I sometimes wonder if he wouldn't have gotten so bad if I'd been able to stay with him... BUT that's besides the point isn't it? Opinions on the houses. Jabberwock's cool. I was scared of the anomalies at first but I grew to really like most of them. For a while though I was sure Kami had a thing for Elias. I know next to nothing about Obscuary, sorry lol. Mortkranken did put him through hell a couple times but they're alright people I guess. Them and Sinostra have a bit of an ethics deficit. I don't have much of an opinion on Frostheim, I never interacted much with any of them. I agree with him about Vagastrom, though they sometimes scare me. And then, clearly Hotarubi is the best house *wink*. Lots of genuinely nice kids who mind their own business and focus on their own projects in an aesthetically pleasing environment. Though, not everyone seems to like the Hotarubi grounds? Kami's told me about a transfer ghoul from last year, Haku, and how he'd occasionally complain about it being too wet or too humid. Nakami, of course, reminded him he could always transfer back to his "ice palace" if he had such a problem with the climate (something I reminded him wasn't nice the couple of times I heard him say it while I was on the phone.)

LEE NAYOUNG - NEXT GEN EP 4 INTERVIEW
mentioned: @beseira @lucielxbe @besiwoo @bechaerin
sitting in the interview room, nayoung almost feels as excited as if she were performing herself. she can't help but smile at the camera, maybe a little uncharacteristic of her.
what has you so happy? the interviewer asks.
"i'm proud of my team and the concept they came up with," nayoung replies simply.
your concept was quite elaborate. care to talk about it?
"yes!" nayoung will be happy to talk about it, actually,
"half of the group are detectives, and the other half of the group are art thieves. the detectives have identified three thieves, who go by the code name of different card suits. the criminal by the name of 'diamond' is currently unidentified. the performance itself is a sort of back and forth between the criminals and detectives as the detectives try to catch the criminals and find the art they stole. throughout the performance, the criminals drop 'evidence,' which are puzzle pieces, and the detectives pick these up."
she gets more excited as she continues to talk about the concept. "the plot twist is that seira, who is a detective for most of the performance, is actually the mysterious diamond. she reveals herself as part of the criminals at the end, and returns the puzzle pieces back to the criminals, making them triumphant in the end."
did you have any worries giving seira such a large role, considering she's currently ranked last?
"we realize it's a risk, but chaerin and i were in agreement that seira deserved the opportunity to prove she's better than the rank she received. she, and everyone else, worked really hard. i hope those efforts are evident in the performance, and that the judges can see it. and that they enjoy the performance, of course."
that's one of the most important parts. maybe she should've touched on that more with her team members: the importance of making a performance entertaining. truthfully, she herself can get too caught up in showing herself off, forgetting the real purpose is to captivate the audience. hopefully that wasn't an oversight.
did anyone else worry you?
nayoung shakes her head. "siwoo and luciel - ah, jihyun," she uses the name everyone on the show has referred to him by so far, "needed my help, but their main issue, in my opinion, is mostly just...believing they're capable, opposed to their actual skills." she feels the need to add to her answer, though she knows the producers will take her words out of context if they want to either way. "there is always room to improve skills, and it's important to do so, but i think they lacked most when it came to confidence. i personally believe that's what makes or breaks a performance, but maybe that's just because i'm from sr media." she smiles, a little sly.
"all of that to say, by the time performance day came, i had the utmost confidence in them." and if that confidence was misplaced...she believes she did the best she could. ultimately, how well or poorly the contestants do has no real bearing on her.

The new nightguard (yandere Springtrap x f!reader) night 4
Words: 3718
Tw: Being beaten
You wondered in your backyard and started hanging your clothes, hoping that your work clothes will be dry before work. The day was pretty sunny considering it was winter. But annoyingly it was still freezingly cold. You picked up the last pair of pants and threw it over the clothes line, then grabbed a peg and put it onto the pants. Once you finished you felt oddly proud of yourself, you got something productive done today. Even if it was small, it was still something. You picked up your clothes hamper and opened the back door, then went to the laundry room and placed it on the floor. You checked the time on your phone which read 5pm. 'Dinner time already?' Time went by fast when you were busy.
You walked to the kitchen and prepared your favourite meal. Once it was finished you headed to the dining room and pulled out a chair and sat down. It felt weird to not stress as much during the day as you normally do. You slowly ate your food, thinking of what to do next. You counted with your fingers on what you did today. "I got the washing done, somewhat cleaned my room-"
"Y/n, it's nice to see you out of your room for once." Your father joked, patting your head.
You rolled your eyes, "Love you too, dad." Then continued to munch on your food.
He pulled out a chair and sat next to you, placing his hands on the table. "So, how's work been?"
You immediately stopped eating and looked at your dad, "Not good, but I'm at least getting it done." Then took another bite of your food, trying to savour it before having to speak again.
Your dads attitude changed to one of concern, "Do you want to talk about it? Work can be a bit tough at times, but you get used to it after a while."
You thought for a few moments. 'Should I try to talk to him about it again? No, I shouldn't. I tried at the hospital but he didn't believe me, why would I think it would work this time?' You sighed, fuck this stupid job.
"No thanks, I'll get through it though." You gave him a small smile. He could be good at times, but you still felt this small bit of anger towards him. The amount of pressure he has been putting on your for the past couple years has been slowly eating away at you. He probably had good intentions, but in the end all it did was cause problems. Being called lazy after trying your best, being degraded over and over again. Why does he act like everything is okay?
"Why not? You never talk to me about anything." He asked, a frown forming on his face.
"I just... you've been pressuring you me a lot for the past few years and, I feel like whatever I do is never enough for you." You sputtered out, maybe it was better to get at least this off your chest.
"Y/n, I'm sorry, I never intended to make you feel that way." He clasped his hand over yours, "I just wanted to motivate you to do better, and in the end you did get this job, right? So didn't it technically help you? You now get to go out and talk to others, and hey you even get your own pay. Isn't this a good thing overall? Are you not happy?"
He then looked away, "Am I not doing enough for you?"
You were shocked, however you put on a calm façade. You looked away from him and stared elsewhere. There's no point in arguing, that will just cause even more stress for you. He told you constantly that what you were doing wasn't enough, to the point you started to slowly break yourself down just to fit into his mould of a perfect daughter. You dug your nails into your skin and took a deep breath. 'This is fine.' You shrugged, then he let go of your hands.
"It's fine." You lied.
You scoffed down the rest of your food, grabbed your crutches and went over to the sink and placed the dishes into it, "It was nice talking to you but I have to do some paperwork." You replied, feigning a sympathetic smile.
Your father looked puzzled, but let it go. "Alright, well I'll be in the lounge room with your mother." He got out of the chair and pushed it in.
After he said that you went upstairs to your room, making sure to lock the door behind you. It's annoying when they randomly walk in. You sat on your bed then placed the crutches against the nightstand. Sometimes you pondered on why you even try to please them, as it feels like nothing you do is good enough.
You sighed, for the next few hours you continued to do some of your hobbies. It's good to at least be able to enjoy something in your life.
After a while you decided to check the time which read 10:30pm. You thought for a few moments and decided to go get the washing off the line. You got off the bed and grabbed your crutches then went downstairs. You picked up the clothes basket from the laundry then went to your backyard. Once you picked off all the clothes and placed them into the basket, you went back upstairs and poured all the clothes onto your bed. You folded and put them away besides your work ones.
You got changed into your clean clothes, which made you feel a bit better. You tidied yourself up by brushing your hair and applying some deodorant. After, you picked up your socks and boots then slid them on. Once you were finished you grabbed your bag which was on the floor, then went back downstairs. You grabbed a bottle from the cupboard and filled it with water, then you grabbed some snacks and put it all in the bag. After making sure you didn't miss anything important, you pulled your phone out and dialled the taxis number. It took them a bit longer than normal to pick up, nonetheless the lady on the phone answered. You told her where you lived and after a few moments she said one would be there in 20 minutes. You thanked her and said goodbye.
Once you were outside you locked the door and sat on the porch, crutches next to you. It was chilly like normal, but today was a bit more windy. You shivered and hugged yourself 'Hopefully it won't be as cold at work.'
In a way you regretted not staying inside and waiting, but you wanted to keep an eye out for the taxi. You constantly glanced at the sky and admired it, where you were it was much clearer, which was nice. Occasionally you went onto your phone to play some games, but you still enjoyed the view.
When the taxi pulled up you slipped on your bag and walked over. You opened the car door and got in, sitting the crutches next to you. The driver said hello and asked where you wanted to go, which you then told him. The man then started the car and drove off. You were surprised as the whole drive went without a hitch. Most of the time you looked out of the window and watched as everything turned into a blur. The window was foggy, which made it difficult to discern where you were. Majority of the drive you were stuck in thought, thinking of what job to look for after this one. You definitely weren't staying, that's for sure. The thought of going to college crossed your mind, but even then you still had to weigh the pros and cons.
Unlike yesterdays, this driver wasn't unnerving, as he didn't constantly glance at you. But you suppose you did look neater this time, so that's probably why.
Once the car started to slow down and stop the man told you how much it'd cost, to which you then pulled out your purse and gave him the money. You thanked him and opened the door, grabbed your bag and crutches then got out. The taxi drove off fast, it wouldn't surprise you if he thought you were up to some shady stuff because of how the building looked. You chuckled at the thought, but also felt kind of bad.
You slowly went over to the building, not feeling as nervous as yesterday. Though the same sense of dread still was there, you were waiting for the worst here.
When you got to the front door to the building you dug your hand into your jeans and pulled out the keys. You unlocked the door, placed your hand onto the handle and opened it. Once you stepped inside you were met by the same surroundings as yesterday. Nothing ever changed in here, you wondered if the owners ever came in to check it out. Who knew what happened while you weren't here. You walked down the halls, taking note of how the lights occasionally flickered. It definitely make the place freakier and put you on edge. With that, the place was also painfully quiet, the only sound were your footsteps echoing throughout the halls. There were a lot of wires hanging from the walls, which you found a bit concerning. How did you not notice this earlier?
You stepped into the security office and chucked your bag onto the desk, then plopped down onto the chair. You leaned back and stared at the ceiling, waiting for the tape to start. You spun around on the chair, then once that got boring you moved onto throwing a small bouncy ball into the air and catching it. Got to entertain yourself somehow, right? After a few catches it fell onto the ground and rolled all the way to the other side, to which you groaned and mumbled out a "Damn it." You couldn't be bothered to go get it. A few seconds later you pulled out your phone and saw a message pull up.
Boss: There have been some concerns regarding the animatronic, as the programming has been malfunctioning. The animatronic has not been responding properly and continues to move past 6am. We will be there at about 7am, so you'll be required to stay for an hour longer. Make sure to leave through the exit door. Thanks.
"Hold the fuck up, I didn't agree to-" You stopped mind sentence as it dawned on to you, that fucking contract. You technically did agree to this. You cursed loudly and clenched your fists. You're working with an animatronic that won't stop moving even after hours, how lovely. You placed your arms onto the desk and pinched the bridge of your nose. 'Todays the last night, this will be the last time I'll have to deal with this thing. One more night till I'm free.'
As you were on the line of freaking out, you heard the tape go off. This didn't startle you, as you were expecting it to go off soon.
"Uh, hello? Hello, hello! Uh, there's been a slight change of company policy concerning use of the suits. Um, don't. After learning of an unfortunate incident at the sister location, involving multiple and simultaneous spring lock failures, the company has deemed the suits temporarily unfit for employees. Safety is our top priority at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, which is why the classic suits are being retired to an appropriate location, while being looked at by our technician. Until replacements arrive, you'll be expected to wear the temporary costumes provided to you. Keep in mind that they were found on very short notice, so questions about appropriateness/relevance should be deflected. I repeat, the classic suits are not to be touched, activated or worn. That being said, we are free of liability, do as you wish. As always, remember to smile; you are the face of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza."
You flipped through all the cameras while trying to find where that bunny was, a couple times you saw more of those ash covered animatronics, one which looked like a deformed boy and for a split second you saw a chicken.... on an arcade screen? When you went back to have a look again you didn't see them again. It was odd, it seems as if once you click off they just disappear over all. Which made you feel nervous, but nonetheless you continued searching. They've never hurt you, so you must be okay, right?
After flipping through all of the cameras that view the halls, you moved onto the vents. As you started checking you heard something, although it was quite subtle. When you got to vent 14 you saw him, so you quickly pressed the button to seal it. Instead of him getting angry, he simply just moved away. Although confused, you watched him exit through cam 10. That was a good thing as you could finally keep him around there, far away from you. He started to walk off down the halls, however, once he reached near cam 09 you pressed the audio button for 10. He simply ignored it, which started make you nervous.
It must've been a mistake.... right?
Right?
Nonetheless, you continued to press it. Once in cam 10, then in cam 09. But he just kept ignoring it.
You felt ill, a pit forming in your stomach when you realised you had to fix the audio button already. You pressed it, basically praying it'll work next time. After a few seconds you then went back to the cams and viewed 08, that creepy hall with the Chica head and presents. The same place you saw that puppet yesterday. The kid drawings that hung on the wall was unsettling. Regardless, you watched as he went to cam 07. As you looked around you noticed that in the arcade machine was what looked like an animatronic chicken? When you realised it was the same one as you saw earlier; it was too late. Suddenly it disappeared off the screen, and not long after you saw something move in the corner of your eye. You were scared, what was it? You dreaded the thought of something attacking you, but you still looked up.
Your eyes widened in fear when you saw it standing in your office. Within a second it jumped at you, but before reaching you fully it suddenly disappeared. This caused you to fall off the chair and onto the rubble that was scattered on the floor. It hurt as the bits of concrete stabbed into your skin. You almost screamed in fear, but you held it back and bit your tongue. You sat there for a few seconds in shock, what the fuck just happened? You wanted to think of it more, to try and think of a logical explanation. But before you could ponder more the lights started to flash red and that damn siren blared into your ears. Knowing the situation was becoming serious, you quickly crawled back onto the chair and pressed the ventilation button. After a few seconds the lights stopped flashing and everything became silent.
You sighed in relief, still feeling your heart rapidly beating from that incident. You flipped through the cameras as you saw he got closer, he was walking down the hall near cam 05, bunny ears hitting the silver stars that were hanging off the ceiling. The hall was so dark that you almost missed him. It was unsurprising that he got so close, he knew you were here. And for some reason he wanted to hurt you.
You pressed the audio button for cam 06, to which he ignored as well. You felt your heartbeat increase, he's not following the it anymore. You pressed it another two times, but he continued to get closer and closer.
The audio button wouldn't work as there was an error, so you had to press the button and wait for it to finish. Once it was you did the same thing as before. It still didn't follow, you were becoming so angry and frustrated. If you stayed here any longer things will get bad like the first night. You wanted to run out but he would be blocking the way down the halls. You glanced again at the cams and he was gone from cam 05. You cursed under your breath, at the brink of freaking out.
You flipped to cam 4 at the end of the hall, staring at the camera close to the foxy head. The closer he got, the more powerless you felt. You shouldn't have came back. You should've stayed far away. All the regret was much heavier this time, you just wanted to curl into a ball and cry. You wanted to go home, even if it means having to spend months on end again trying to find a job. You started to tense up and tap onto the dirty desk.
Maybe you could crawl through the vents and exit through there. However you'd have to make sure that he's not in, who knows what he'd do if he put his filthy hands on you. The more that you thought about the possibilities the more you wanted to leave. The fear kept building up the more steps he took. Once he reached cam 02 you made up your mind.
You had to leave
Now
But how'd you crawl through with a broken leg? You cursed again, bumping your left leg up and down. It will be excruciating, but it's better than dying. You got off the chair and onto the floor, making sure to grab your phone. You then went into the vent, trying to not make any noise. You weren't too sure where to go, but after looking through the vent cams so many times you had an idea. Cam 15 was positioned near the left of you, however that's connected to where Springtrap would be. If you were to go down a little then turn left you'll be able to get to where cam 14 is, the exit is positioned right outside of it.
After quickly thinking it through, it sounded so simple. 'I'll be free.'
You continued down, however while crawling through you heard Springtraps footsteps entering the security room. You felt sick, but he didn't know where you were. You were safe.
But you heard the cameras click, and that's when you froze.
'Shit, he's looking for me.' You thought, crawling faster.
You genuinely hoped he was stupid enough to not check the vents. You fastened your pace, ignoring the pain that ached throughout your leg. Oh how you wanted to cry, but you pushed through it. When you turned left, you noticed that the cameras light turned red, he was viewing the vents.
You stopped immediately, waiting for it to stop flashing. It felt like forever waiting for it to turn off, however when it did, you instantly continued on. Once you were close enough to reaching the exit, you noticed something was off. Did he just stop looking for you? Everything was much more quieter than normal. But when you poked your head out, he was standing right there in front of the exit, looking straight at you.
You froze for a few seconds, 'no no no, this can't be right. It's been only a minute and he's already here?!' You thought, then tried to move backwards, but before you could move he grabbed your foot and pulled, you tried to dig your nails into the metal but it wouldn't work. He ripped you out like you were as light as a feather. You were nothing when compared to him.
When you were laying right in front of him, a face full of pure fear, he smiled. Not a nice and friendly one, it was an evil and sadistic one. You were simply nothing to him but a toy. And oh how he was going to have fun.
He placed is foot onto your chest, which made you mortified. He loved it. He tilted his head back, a loud laugh escaping from his mouth. He found this situation hilarious. This resulted in you looking disgusted, your face scrunched up. After a few seconds he placed his hand onto his chest and tried to calm down. But oh how this was amazing for him. So pathetic, weak. You were completely at his mercy.
"Now what to do with you now..." He mumbled out, to which you started to try and move out his grip. Attempting to push him off, scratching while looking for an object nearby. He just stared in amusement, finding this funny. You kept going till your fingers started to burn from the friction. You slammed your fists again his legs, hoping to break anything or even do the smallest amount of damage to him. Just anything, even the smallest amount of control in this situation you'd take. But all it did was harm you more than him.
When your hand started to ache to the point it you could barely move it, you realised there was nothing you could do. So you just started to cry even more. The feeling of being weak, the regret, dread and complete fear was becoming too much. Tears streamed down your cheeks and onto the floor.
He tore at one of the wires in the walls, causing it to spark, then he leaned down and pulled you up by the hair, which caused you to yelp. Then he pushed it down, smashing you onto the ground.
You screamed harder, the pain radiating all throughout your head. You honestly weren't sure if he cracked your skull or not, you tried one more time to get up, but yet again there was nothing you could do. You watched helplessly as he picked you up bridal style, but not long after you started to see stars and inky black spots clouding your vision. The next thing you know you were into a deep slumber, in such a weak state with a mass murderer.
[I'll be releasing part 5 soon!]

❝ now playing: everything stays ❞ ; kyojuro rengoku.
Tumblr media
summary: hashira y/n who reunites w rengoku
notes: this has been in my drafts for a while but i decided to finish n post it for the time being :’) its so half assed im so sorry
Tumblr media
how pathetic.
you would have thought that your years of training would have prepared you for this. that all your experience and everything you’ve gone through that landed you in your position as a hashira would have prepared you for the moment you were training for practically your whole life.
of course, life just had different plans.
you vaguely remember the events of what even happened, all you remember was that you encountered one of the higher upper moons and after that it was a blur. you put up a good fight that lasted longer than you both expected it to, and you just remembering you pushed yourself too hard, and one thing led to another, and here you were.
the grassy fields stretched as far as you could see, and the flowers that grew near you provided you a sense of comfort. looking up to the sky, the clouds covered the sun so it wasn’t that bright.
“how could you…” you mumbled to yourself as your hands formed into fists by your side. you trained your whole life for this. you worked endlessly and worked hard, only for you to meet your demise like that?
you paced around, not knowing exactly where you were going.
useless, useless, useless-
“y/n?” you stopped. you haven’t heard that voice in a long time. it belonged to someone you genuinely were afraid of forgetting. their voice was starting to get muffled in your memory and their face fading, but you'd never fully forget.
could it be…?
no.
it couldn’t.
you turned your head, slightly afraid of who’d you see , afraid that it wasn’t who you thought it was going to be, but when your eyes met golden ones, your hands dropped to your side.
“rengoku…”
there he stood. the valley of flowers only made the moment a lot more sentimental and dramatic but you chose to ignore that bit.
you walked closer to him, and experimentally, you reached out to cup his cheeks with your hands as you inspected his hair, to his eyes to the rest of his face, and he seemed a bit puzzled at first, but he had this smile. the same one you used to always see him with back then, but it was slightly different. no, this wasn't like how he smiled with everyone else, this was how he smiled when he was alone with you.
"it's you." you whispered, and before he could respond, you threw your arms around his neck and practically jumped on him.
he caught you by wrapping his arms around you as well as his hand rested on the back of your head. "it's really you!" you cried out, beginning to bawl your eyes out.
"it's me, y/n." he said, continuing to comfort you, "it's me."
"i-i'm so sorry!" you said, "if only i'd been there that night, i could have helped you!" you had many regrets in your life and your most recent one would never amount to the regret that flooded your body when that crow had flown over to you letting you know that kyojuro rengoku completed his mission but at the cost of his life to an upper demon moon. "i should have begged to be paired up with you and the others!"
"no, no," rengoku said as he let you down and looked you straight in the eyes. his hand cupped your cheek lovingly, "the demon slayer corps needed you, and you've been there for them and you did the best. you've been very brave and strong, and i'm so proud of you and everything you've done."
you couldn’t talk. there weren’t words coming out of your mouth, but you couldn’t keep your eyes off of him. the words he spoke made your chest tighten as your eyes watered.
you missed him. you really did. not a day went by when you didn’t of think of him, and suddenly seeing him now, in front of you and saying these words… it was unreal. you felt like your head was in the clouds, like this wasn’t actually happening.
“i missed you so much, my love.” he said, “more than you could ever know.”
rengoku’s free hand went to hold yours as he laces his fingers with yours. “are you ready to go?” he asked, a bright smile on his face as he motioned to walk forward, and only then did you realize; he waited for you.
you wiped your tears away and smiled back at him.
a smile he missed so dearly, and he couldn’t begin to describe the overwhelming happiness and comfort that was just surging through him at the moment.
“let’s go.” you say.

Different Worlds - Jake Kiszka x Reader
Chapter 14 : Change of Plans
[notes :
i'm so sorry for the time it took me to post this. i wasn't sure with what i wanted to do, now i know :)
i hope you enjoy this chapter my loves !]
It had already been two weeks since my last encounter with Jake, not because I didn’t want to see him but because we were so busy with the beginning of the tour. We had already visited six cities and it had been stressful, but so fucking fun.
I got to hangout backstage and where the concert photographers stood as the boys played on the stage- and watching Jake play was my favorite thing ever. He was so sexy when he delved into the music, his eyes closed as sweat poured down his forehead. I couldn’t help but feel so turned on when watching him play, and I missed the night we spent together so much. I knew it would happen again- we had just been so busy. After tonight's show, there was a five day break until our next shows, and Jake told me we’d do something then. The thought always came back when I felt really.. homesick of him.
The boys finish their encore and walk off the stage quickly, heading to their dressing rooms. I clap softly for Jake as he heads straight for me, his eyes watching me as he gets off the stage.
“You did amazing!” I say and he smiles, pulling me in for a tight hug.
“Thank you, [y/n]” He replies and we walk together to the common dressing room, meeting up with the rest of the boys. Throughout the weeks we have been on tour, I’ve gotten much closer with Sammy- I could say we’re best friends now and I feel so lucky to have him.
Jake and I walk into the room and I quickly make my way to the couch- sitting next to Sam. He shoots me a smile and wraps his arm around me, pulling me close.
“Hey [y/n]! Did you like the show?” He asks and I nod quickly.
“It was really good, I’m so proud of you all!” I respond and the boys collectively give me a small ‘thank you’. I remember how good Josh sang and their overall performance.
Jake steps out into a smaller room- to get changed. He comes out and is now wearing a black button down shirt with some loose grey pants. I now realize that everyone else had gotten changed in some comfier clothes.
“Hey, we’ve picked up all the objects thrown on the stage and placed them in this box for you guys” A girl appears at the door with a big box full of random objects. The silence in the room is loud as her eyes widen and Sam gasps next to me. I look at him and his eyes are shooting daggers at her. Jake’s whole body freezes as she stands in the doorway, mirroring his movements. I hear Josh’s breath hitch and the whole room is filled with this uncomfortable silence.
“I told you to never fucking come back.” Sam growls. Fuck. This is Taylor. I watch Jake as his puzzled look focuses on her, my heart beating quickly. Sam’s breathing becomes harder, as he stares at her.
“I know.. I work here. Hey Jake.. Josh.” She says softly as she steps into the room and places the box on the table. The silence is killing me, as the energy feels so uncomfortable and I’m unsure what to do.
“I’m sorry, I should’ve asked someone else to bring this.” She rapidly stutters before leaving the room rapidly- and Jake follows her. Sam gasps once again and gets off the couch quickly, rushing after Jake.
“I’ll be right back, [y/n], don’t worry okay?” He says quickly before running down the hall.
I can’t do anything but sit on the couch, my hands in front of my mouth as the latest events replay over and over in my mind. The tears make their way out of my eyes rapidly as the room is silent once again. The uncomfortability of the room is probably getting too much for Daniel as he leaves the room- leaving Josh and I alone. I can’t do anything but cry in my hands, as I’ve just watched my boyfriend run after another girl. I cover my face with my hands, the humiliation taking over my whole body.
“[y/n], let's get out of here, yeah?” Josh suggests and I look up at him, nodding softly. He grabs a box of tissues that was placed near the door and then grabs one of my hands, pulling me close to his body as he wraps his arm around my shoulders, squeezing a little.
_ _ _
We find ourselves at a bar across the street from the venue and we sit in a booth at the back of the room. Completely secluded from the general public. I sat in the booth alone as Josh went to grab drinks- I had mentioned how I don’t drink often so he knew what to get me. He comes back with a rum and coke in one hand and something fancy looking in the other.
“Here you go” He places the rum and coke in front of me and I rapidly take a big sip. He takes a small sip out of his drink, watching me.
“I need to apologize to you, [y/n]” He says softly, placing his hand on my wrist. I look at him, the dimmed lighting in the back of the booth making him look so beautiful right now. He looks incredibly soft and his kind eyes ease the previous tension.
“I get jealous of Jake. And when I heard that he likes you, I just wanted to shoot my shot- even if it isn't reciprocated. You’re just so beautiful and he’s so lucky.” He says softly. “I’m so sorry for being a dick to you, you’re a kind girl and didn’t deserve that. Just like you didn’t deserve him running after Taylor like that.” He says and I tear up again, the tears pouring out with no control.
“I told him I love him” I sob into my hands, Josh rubbing my back softly and hesitantly. I cry softly and he hesitates saying anything else. I pause to take another big sip of my drink, wiping my tears with the back of my hand.
“That’s terrible. I’m sorry, [y/n]. I know he must’ve told you what happened before… with Taylor.” Josh starts. “I had her first. No one knew. Sammy thought he knew but he was wrong, I just wasn't able to tell him. It hurt me a lot, too, when she left. Ever since then things haven’t been the same. I need to tell you that I would never do that to you.” He finishes and I sniff a little, wiping more of my tears away. Before I can answer him- Sammy’s calling. I rapidly answer and place him on speakerphone.
“Sammy.” You say softly.
“I couldn’t find them anywhere. Where are you?” He says quickly and my heart drops quickly, my lip quivering, Josh noticing and scoots closer to me and wraps his arm around my shoulder.
“We’re at the bar across the venue- all the way in the back.” Josh answers for me as a sob escapes my lips.
“Oh.. [y/n] I’m on my way” He responds and ends the call.
It doesn't take long before Samuel is rushing inside the bar, heading straight to the back to meet with Josh and I.
"You don't know where they went?" Josh asks Sammy and he shakes his head 'no'.
"I'm so pissed, Josh. She knows we were performing- why the hell was she there?" Sam scoffs with an annoyed tone.
"Do you" I pause hesitantly. "Do you think they're.." I can't bring myself to say it out loud- the tears getting in the way of my sentence.
"I don't know. I don't think so. He cares a lot about you, [y/n] he's told me many times. I didn't expect him to be stupid enough to run after her." Sam sighs loudly. "I'm getting a drink. Do you want another one?" He places a hand on my shoulder as he looks down at my empty glass and I nod.
"Rum and coke." Josh answers him before he asks and Sam nods.
"I don't think they're going to do anything." Josh states, looking down at me to make eye contact. His fingers rubbing my arm softly, the warmth of his arm around me helping a little. "Jake's the type to need closure. I think he just needed to talk." He tries to reassure me and he does a little, but not much.
Sam comes back with two drinks, he places mine in front of me and I sip it slowly this time.
"I wasn't enough, Sammy." I say softly.
"No. That's not true. He cares about you so much." Sam says sympathetically. "We hear him writing songs about you in his room all the time, right Josh?" Sam looks towards Josh and I mirror him, looking at Josh as well.
"It's true. He's always strumming something and muttering lyrics. All the time." Josh agrees, then takes a sip of his drink. He slowly takes his arm off of my shoulders and rests his arms on the table, looking towards Sammy and I.
"Everything is going to be okay." Sammy says, but I can't focus as Jake steps into the bar- his shirt even more unbuttoned than before.

part 3 of second choice ; ceo!shoto todoroki x gn!reader (x ceo!katsuki bakugo) (1617 words)
part 1. part 2. (previous) part 4.
tw ; angst, arranged marriage, toxic relationship, degradation, divorce, mention of alcohol, bad language, slightly suggestive ?
EXTRA INFOS ;; all the characters are aged up obviously (they are 30 here), the point of view of this third part is from shoto todoroki !
Tumblr media
confrontation. [7 : 16 pm]
a week has passed since he came home that night drunk. that he had begged momo to stay with him. that he had accidentally seen those divorce papers crumpled by your hands.
momo had seen them too that night, and yet she and shoto had not commented on them. good, he wasn't in the mood anyway.
it had become almost official, even the media had it on their front pages. "one of japan's richest couples on the verge of divorce?", "billionaire todoroki single again?" "y/n, will the heir.ess of their father's company return to being a lawyer?"
he would have liked to say that he cared what you thought about it. if you cried, screamed, were you hurt ? but that would be lying, you were the least of his worries.
and then, wasn't it what he wanted from the beginning ?
that you would end up hating him so much that you would leave him. that he could finally be free of the weight that you represented every day.
and yet his signature was still missing.
"you can't even love your partner properly, and now i hear through the media that a divorce is on the way ? you're pathetic son. i knew i should have married them to touya. " enji's heart-attack voice echoed terribly through the phone, which made shoto sigh. he was even pretty sure he could hear it from across town.
"calm down." shoto said in an annoyed tone. "your marriage isn't a success either, so keep your remarks to yourself. bye. "
"you idiot, don't you dare hanging up on me. i don't care if you can't satisfy your s/o, i don't care if they feel bad about this arranged marriage either. but y/n y/l/n comes from a very famous lawyer's family, so get a divorce and the amount of money you have to give will be huge. "
"i manage them, it will not be a problem. i have to go now. "
the young man finally returned to your room, looking exhausted, his tie loosened and ready to down a few glasses of whiskey.
however, he was surprised to see you. dressed in a beautiful versace dress/suit, you were glowing. well no, he meant that you looked... good.
though, it was the first time he took the time to look at you. to admire you.
the young man finally met your indifferent gaze through the mirror you were standing in front of. that gaze that was so joyful and sparkling at the beginning of your marriage, full of hope to transform this purely financial union into a love marriage.
but that look, devoid of emotion, almost made shoto, Japan's most ambitious ceo, doubt himself. almost.
"i'm surprised you're still using my card to splurge. how much is this one? $1000 ? $2000 ?"
he was tired, exhausted. nut the truth is he was in the mood to be a pain in the ass tonight.
"$ 8,330. plus the $800 pair. " you replied coldly.
your answer was like a slap in the face to your husband. not because of the price, he didn't give a fuck about this.
but this tone right there. it wasn't like you. you were normally so gentle, patient even with the worst of the crap he put you through. that naive kindness that made him want to vomit was completely gone. he didn't expect such a turn of events.
"so you decide to divorce me, but first you want to empty my bank account? you're exactly as I imagined." his look that used to reflect nothing but fatigue was now full of contempt for you.
you finally faced him. shit, he couldn't help but find you beautiful.
"here todoroki, let's talk about the divorce. " you began, quietly walking over to the cabinet and pulling out a stack of documents. "i've signed it, sign it, and i'll take it to my lawyers first thing in the morning.
he snatched them out of your hand and threw them across the room. you didn't even flinch, you even held his gaze. poker face.
a loud silence fell between you. a long silence, uncomfortable and comfortable at the same time. heavy and light. sensible and meaningless.
"what's all this about ? who put you up to this ?"
a wry laugh escaped your lips. your new behavior puzzled shoto. he loved and hated what he had in front of him. a challenge.
"you think i need someone to make me realize that i deserve better than an asshole like you ? fuck, let me laugh. "
your hand went to retrieve a piece of paper from your purse. and it was slammed hard against his chest. bakugou’s business card.
he found your face inches from his, your warm breath gently caressing his cheeks. a scent of whiskey filled his nostrils. you were not sober.
"how many drinks are you on? " he asked quietly.
"so now do you care if i downed a whole bottle or not ? oh please shut up. because now that you mention it, your friend bakugou katsuki may have hired me. to be his company's business lawyer. isn't that funny? "
you turned your back on him, unaware of the state you'd put him in. but damn, it was like he'd just been slapped in the face. nausea took over his whole body, his legs became heavy and weak in few seconds only. and he knew damn well it wasn't fatigue.
so you were leaving him, but on top of that you were going to work for his number one competitor ?
he didn't know what hurt more, the knowledge that bakugo had won one of the most competent lawyers in the field or that you were leaving him for him ? was he jealous ? surely not, it was another feeling that repulsed him. he didn't even know.
"have you lost your tongue todoroki ?"
todoroki ? since when did you call him by his last name ? where are the darlings or my heart that used to annoy him so much ?
you finish getting ready, now wearing your long jacket. he had lost his tongue indeed, he didn't know what to say to you. what to do.
y/n y/l/n, you had succeeded in putting your husband to the wall.
but it was only for a moment. he quickly, too quickly, pulled himself together. his usual irritated expression returned.
"you don't see that he's using you to get ahead of me ? i thought you were smarter than that. "
he took a step forward, slowly but surely. like a predator approaching its prey.
"he doesn't care about you. just like no one has ever cared about you, not me, not him and not your bourgeois family. that's why they put you in a loveless marriage so easily. "
a mirthless laugh escaped from his lips.
"y/n, this bastard doesn't give a damn about you. "
you tried to move towards him, ready to slap him, but the alcohol made you capsize and stumble on your carpet. he arrived just in time to support you with his muscular arms. an annoyed sigh resounded in the large room when your sob reached his ears.
nevertheless, a petty smile stretched his lips. there you were again, the fragile and unassertive y/n finally in his arms.
that bakugo had managed to turn your brain inside out. yet shoto knew you better than anyone else. he knew you. better than you knew yourself. you were that puzzle he had managed to decipher long ago.
"that's not true. kacchan wouldn't do that...", you whisper.
"you know i'm right, sweetheart. you know i'm the only one who's honest with you. my love for you is all you need. "
his muscular hand gradually, peacefully, came to caress your back to take off the buttons of your dress. his lips came to meet yours, to draw you into a long, languid, unsentimental kiss. your lips asked for more, your whole soul asked for more of shoto. more of this man for whom your heart never stopped beating. even if his was vibrating for another woman.
you wanted to feel his lips making love to you sensually, sincerely.
you just wanted him to love you for one night. one fucking night.
shoto was ecstatic. he could already see himself opening a bottle of champagne with his father, to celebrate the divorce that would never happen. tonight, shoto had brought out his best acting skills. millions were at stake. he had brought out his best kiss. he had never touched you like that. so gently, so carefully.
he had never called you by any affectionate nickname.
he has done too much to keep you around.
and you were drunk, not stupid.
you finally stood up, moving away from him, reluctantly. nothing he said was true. from his love for you, to his accusations against katsuki.
awkwardly, you put your dress/suit back on properly.
"i have a meeting with my future employer mr. bakugou tonight. i'll be late. don't wait for me, i'll sleep at the hotel tonight, with your card. "
a red color came to his cheeks. anger ? sadness ? jealousy ?
he had never seen you so determined, so proud. and that attracted him. he was going to lose millions, no matter what. but it was you who was going to escape him. for that bastard bakugou katsuki.
the nice little y/n was no longer shoto todoroki's.

Yuta + "College Crush"
Sorry for slowing down a little, work's been a little tight. I'm going on a trip next week so I have to get some stuff done before. Is this longer than the others as compensation? Absolutely not I just got carried away. I'm still taking requests for the event.
__
College athlete trope, unrequited love, acquaintances to lovers
Summary: Nakamoto Yuta had a crush on you. You knew he did because anytime you went for a game, he'd point at you before making a goal. You would be flattered if it wasn't so embarrassing.
__
She gave up after standing outside the locker room for an hour. Everybody else had left and Nakamoto Yuta was no where to be found. With a groan under her breath, she pushed the door open to walk in.
A short walk down the lockers revealed him sitting on a bench with his phone in hand, hair still wet from his shower.
"There you are. I was getting tired of waiting for you to come inside." He looked up as he clicked his screen off, hair falling over his eyes.
"Why didn't you come outside?" She asked, incredulous when he grinned. "I was waiting for you to leave."
"I wanted you to come in here. I always imagined that you'd finally confess your feelings to me in here. Unfortunately, I've already taken a shower." He sighed.
"No, I'm not–" She paused, processing the intention of his last words with delay, "What?" Her cheeks burned and it only made the puzzling dude grin wider.
He wiggled his brows at her and she shook her head.
"I'm not here to confess my feelings to you. What the fuck? You're ridiculous!" She gasped, still flustered. "I wanted to ask you to stop pointing at me in games. I come here to support my brother and best friend and you make it very hard for me to do that."
"Why? Do you get all tongue-tied like you are right now?" He winked.
"No." She frowned, increasingly perplexed by the guy. "What do you think this is? One Tree Hill?" She asked incredulously.
"I don't know what that is." He shrugged.
She ignored him, "Everytime you point at me and actually score, the girls in the bleachers give me a dirty look. Everytime you miss, it's the dudes. Someone told me that I was distracting you and it sounded like a threat. Sports fans are terrifying."
"Oh." Yuta sat up, brows knitting like he was in a real predicament. After a few moments of being deep in thought, he looked up. "Okay I get it. Don't worry, it won't happen again." He reassured, giving her a nod.
"I–" She began to voice the defence she was preparing, pausing when she heard him. "Wait really?" She asked, earning another reassuring nod.
__
She burst into the packed locker room the moment the match ended, ignoring the gasps, screams and the god awful smell as she briskly walked towards Nakamoto Yuta's locker.
"You said you were going to stop. Not make it worse, did you get hit in the head a few too many times with your spotted ball?" She approached him with a death glare.
Yuta lifted his hands up in defence, "I said it won't happen again."
"And this was your solution? Announcing to the stadium that you didn't want people to blame 'your' girl?" She raised her voice, face warm when she heard sniggers and realised that the entire locker room was suddenly silent.
"It worked." He mumbled, having the audacity to look proud of himself.
Listen to me, Cinderella Man." She walked closer, pointing a warning finger at him.
"I don't know what that is." He frowned.
She continued, "Are you delusional? I have never expressed any interest in you."
"Hence the pointing. I thought you'd like it." He said like it was obvious.
She was so taken aback by the nonchalance that she was rendered speechless.
"Tongue-tied." He pointed with a proud grin. Like it was the confirmation he needed.
"No! I don't like you. I was indifferent to you and now you've promoted to a nuisance, Jerry Maguire." She huffed.
"He wasn't even an Athlete." Yuta pursed a smile.
"Oh so that one you recognise?" She narrowed her eyes. "Leave me alone, Nakamoto. I'm warning you."
"But you're so cute when you're all flustered and mad."
"I will cut you." She added, turning away to find her brother looking at her with surprise.
"This is all your fault. Couldn't you have just stuck to basketball?" She groaned, before walking away.

Law of Attraction { Lando Norris x reader }
Tumblr media
Disclamer : Swearing !!!
It was a busy weekend for the Mclaren team, they were about to get associated with a new partner. It was a huge contract and it was your first big deal. Mclaren just hired you, you were on probation before your contract will be real. You couldn’t mess up, you needed this job, needed to make your proof. You just got your law degree and it was your first job as a lawyer and you got lucky that you found yourself working as a Mclaren F1 Team new attorney.
This contract was important for both parties and it would go to the press as well. You were set to make your client sign during the next grand prix weekend and it was this weekend.
You spend hours and hours in your office reading the partner offer but something was bugging you and you couldn’t put your finger on it . You had to fly this afternoon to join all the team in Austria and you were starting to feel stress because you knew you had to put that deal on your boss table for him to sign, but that it wasn’t a good one and that we would basically get screw over by some clause or something, you knew it in your guts, you just need to find which pieces of puzzle you were missing. If the partner attorney thought he could easily screw you over like this because you were in your first year of work, he was wrong. You might be a newbie but one thing your mentor had taught you was to never show your weakness. That’s why you spend all night writing a new contract, word by word like the original, to find that little detail and you end up finding it. You were ehausted and tomorrow was the signing day, but now you were ready to show that we can’t fuck you over easily and that nobody should ever underestimated you. That was probably why mister Brown had give you the job, hearing things from is old attorney and your mentor was one thing, but proving how worth of the job you were is another and it will be soon be your moment of glory, but you couldn’t celebrate victory to soon, another thing you mentor had teach you.
Today was the day of the signing, you were stressed, you didn’t know how this would turn out. You were scared to have made a mistake and the lack of sleep was starting to rub on you. You had your plan in your mind, letting the other party think they had the upper hand and not tell them you had found the hair in the soup that will make your client profit and not lose all his money. It was important for you to not show your whole game to the adversary, but let him build his ego before you put that last card that will make you win the whole game in hand.
To make it official, Mclaren had to make the deal in their motorhome, Mister Brown wanted his two drivers to be there with him while signing as well because it was an important partnership for the whole team. It will be your first time seeing them since you entered the company, you were based in the factory back in Woking, but never had met any of them. You were quite intimidated, but the job was coming before anything else, no matter how many hours you spend in your free time to search about these two drivers, focusing on one in particular because he was around your age and something was telling you that the two of you were somewhat alike in certain ways of your life. You would lie to yourself if you didn’t find him attractive as well, but your personal preference when it comes to man can’t interfere with your work, it was your first and most important rule in your code of conduct you had set yourself on when you started studying law.
You arrive early in the paddock, hoping to visit around and discover this whole new world that you knew nothing about. You gotta visit the garage of your team, mechanics were happy to explain to you one thing or two, having a silent competition between them for the one that will have the testosterone level at his highness and find a way to make you fall for them. You already know their little trick going to law school with men, nothing could surprise you anymore. You knew you were pretty or had a little something more perhaps, but seeing gentlemans thinking the same was actually really flattering. After this pleasant little escapade, you find yourself walking the stairs of the Mclaren motorhome reading to meet everyone in the meeting room. You were the last one to enter the room, but you could give yourself the right to make an entrance after the thing you discovered during your sleepless night of searching dirt on the company represented by the douchebag sitting on the opposite side of the table. By his face you knew this man was an asshole and that it wasn’t his first rodeo and you were ready to put a stop into his little illegal business.
However when your eyes meet the drivers, especially the youngest one, your heart skips a bit, before you turn yourself and find your boss judging your rather late presence. You quickly apologize with a nod of the head before inviting them all to sit around the table and start the meeting.
Everything was going smoothly, everyone was happy, except you. You already hated what you were about to do,but you had to act fast otherwise it will be too late and the papers would be signed in front of your eyes.
“ Excuse me, I have one more question before we head toward the signature. “ You interrupted the conversation, looking at your boss, waiting for his approval to continue. After all you were only doing your job to assure everything is well covered, he couldn’t argue on that. The opposite camp didn’t have any objection for you to give a go to your wonder, thinking it would be innocent coming from a young lawyer that is still learning about the job. He made a gesture toward you, avoiding getting over this.
“ Well, mister Backfield, without due respect I was wondering why you were so eager to help our company, I did some research, you know. Usually you are investing in smaller businesses, which will lower profit. Why show the Mclaren F1 Team when it's new territory for you ? “
And action, you knew that every word that was about to leave this man’s mouth would only be total lies, but he didn’t know that. You had the upper hand by far and you won’t give him the satisfaction to put down this team and family.
And he tried hard to explain, save his case, defend himself and if you were naive you would have believed the guy but you weren't and could give a shit about his speech.
" Well I'm afraid I can't let this go on further. "
Everyone around the table was stunted, not knowing what to say. Mister Brown was reading to make you go before you heard him a piece of paper and that's when his face changed and he let you continue.
" You see Mister Backfield, you thought you could screw us over and try to go fish at a bigger price. Unfortunately for you I find out who you truly are. A piece of garbage buying company when they must need it, making them believe you will help them develop until somehow by some miracle they are forced to declare bankruptcy a couple years ago and then you buy them twice the price they truly worth before miraculously going back on the high to sell them three times the price. I don't know you but I call that stealing and corruption and I'm not ready to let my company get fucked over by an asshole like you so you can take you goddamn deal, walk away from here and never show your face around us again or I can talk to the press and trust me they are going to love it. One thing for sure is that if it happens I might win big and no negotiation put on the table will make me give you your money back. " You threw him middle fingers as you stood up and showed him the door.
Everyone was so shocked they couldn't speak, not because of the revelation in itself but how you had handled the whole situation like a true boss, with confidence and pride.
Someone in the room was even more impressed and couldn't even close his mouth, clearly admiring you. If you knew better you would say that right there Lando Norris was falling in love with you and if that wasn't boasting your ego then you didn't know what will.
Mr Brown was the first one to come to you as you all watched the security guys escorting Mr Backfield out of the paddock. He was about to say something but the rush of adrenaline was making you bold and you beat him to it.
" I am so sorry mister Brown I know I should have informed you before the meeting, but honestly I wasn't even sure before entering in that room that my information was right and I only received the confirmation a minute before being here, explaining why I was late. Truly I'm sorry if I put your entire team in a difficult position, I will try to find the best replacement for you I promise you. " You were almost out of breath as you finish you log apologize but realize soon enough that it didn't really matter here.
" I am impressed with you, first month on the job and you are already making yourself irreplaceable, you shouldn't have to apologize and I certainly should be thanking you and giving you a raise. Your mentor was right to gush about you. You are someone else." Proud could be seen in his eyes and his smile couldn't leave his face as he hugged you awkwardly saying thank you one more time before leaving and going back to the garage with Daniel who made sure to wink at you and make a big thumbs up at you before heading out.
However, someone hadn't left his seat, Lando. You thought he was just going to stay there and ignore you but as you were opening the door he smashed it back close behind you.
" I observed you all weekend, wondering why such a little fragile person was headlining such a big deal like this but it turns out I was wrong, never judge a book by it's cover. I'm learning it the hard way. "
You turn to face him ready to get back at him but his lips on you made you shut up. He pushes you against that door again, putting his hands on your lower back. At first you were confused as to why he was kissing but eventually you just stopped resisting and let yourself enjoy the moment. You had a thing for him and you were now sure that these weird eye contacts weren't that innocent. He had a thing for you too.
His kiss could make you reach the roof, you never felt something like that before, not that you had much experience, he knew exactly what would make you moan into his lips and lose balance so he could tighten the grip around you. You needed air but you would not allow it to yourself, you wanted more, you wanted him.
The adrenaline in your system was still pumping through your veins and you couldn't really think straight, your hands found the back of his head, playing with his loose locks of hair. You were holding on for dear life on this ride despite the fact you barely knew the guy.
Lando ends up breaking it up and you realise you were hooked around him as he put you down on your feet again.
" Just for the record, what you did before was so fucking hot that I would gladly be a criminal if that means you would be the one to put me in jail. "
He made you laugh, you were gasping for air, messy hair, swallow lips and redness on the cheeks, no speaking of your clothes being runned and unfolding and your shoes not even on your feet anymore. Everyone knows what they say about aan that can make a woman laugh and you wouldn't argue on that, not with him anyway.
Now that you had a taste of Lando, you wanted more, so much more and by the look on his eyes he was willing to explore the " more " area with you too.
" Okay that was unexpected, but the good kind, so here's what we're going to do. You will knock twice on my door at 23pm tonight, room 344, not a minute before and not a minute after, hope you know what punctuality is because you won't get a second chance. " You gathered all your things, trying to clean yourself to make it look like nothing had happened before you caught Lando's chin in your palm.
" Hope you will have a good defense, because tonight is going to be the trial of your life " You blow him a kiss before leaving his sight, a pride face drawing on you.

Being The Smartest Shelby Would Include:
Tumblr media
Polly knew you were smart from the start
She said so when you were a baby, but of course no one believed her
Everyone thought their kids were special, but you really were
Born just a few years before Finn, you weren't the baby, but you definitely weren't the oldest, so it was hard to be taken seriously
It started with your homework
You spent a lot of nights trying to tell your siblings it was just too easy
You weren't just getting every answer right, you were finishing pages of work in minutes, faster than anyone in your class
Eventually, you moved on to your brothers work
Finding it discarded on the table, you recognized Johns scraggly handwriting
He'd only made it halfway through, so you decided to finish it, even fixing some of his mistakes along the way
You wanted to show them what you'd done, but of course no one listened
At least, not until you stood on your chair and demanded that someone look over your work
It was a bit dramatic, and made for an embarassing story later, but you wanted to be heard
They did, finally, and they were shocked
Tommy handed it to John, who passed to Ada, skipping over Arthur, who eventually got it to Polly
"Well?"
"It's right, all of it. . . ."
"Fuck."
It wasn't just math though. You were reading every book you could find, even the ones your siblings struggled to get through
You had a knack for puzzles, for figuring things out no one else could, able to pull things apart and put them together just in your head
Polly knew, and she was going to do something about it
Anything she could find to keep you entertained, occupied, your mind at work, she'd bring it home
You had an incredible memory too, remembering everything from the contents on the back of bottles you brothers drank from to entire speeches Polly gave when all of you were misbehaving
It was amazing, to say the least
You were a kid when your brothers went off to war, so it was mostly Ada and Polly who spent long nights with you at the table over homework
You didn't think it was fair, that you were forced to stay in school when none of your siblings were
Polly called it a gift, said you shouldn't take it for granted
She had big plans for you, the kind of career kids like you could only dream of
Finn grows up with you reading to him every night
Even helping him with schoolwork, though that didn't last very long
It still irks you Polly let's Finn drop school, not even getting past reading himself, but you know better than to push the subject
By the time your brothers come back, thankfully all in one piece, you've become a bit of a myth or legend around the Small Heath
Not only are you taller and with more acne, a young teenager, you've made a name for yourself, and a business
After school you could be found with a hat on the ground, getting pocket change for your "abilities"
Showing off and splitting the money with friends, you put on shows
Memorizing the faces of strangers, drawing them almost perfectly by hand, reciting lines of poetry from class all from memory, etc.
Sometimes you bring Finn along, promising candy for his silence, making him part of the act
Your favorite is showing off the languages you've lesrned, switching between Romani, French, Italian, and German (to name a few) without a second thought, so effortlessly
Arthur caught you once, but instead of saying anything, he simply cheered you on, laughing at the fact that your business was doing better than the familys
You spent a lot of time in the shop like Finn, growing up there, but never really allowed in on business, not even to listen
Instead you were ordered to be quiet and focus on your studies
And you did, for a few years, slipping notes to John about what you thought would improve business, pressing your ear to the door to listen, putting up with being categorized as "one of the kids" with Finn
And then you made an announcement, one that almost killed Polly
You weren't going to university, and instead you'd be joining the family business
Your aunt put up a good fight, but your brothers were more than happy to welcome you, with rules of course
Ada wasn't too thrilled either, knowing how smart you were, and how special it was, but she wasn't going to stop you
Pol was, or at least she was going to try
"You could be anything you want y/n."
"And I choose this."
"You're-"
"Wasting my potential? So you've said."
You'd be more behind the scenes, working on the business side rather than the side with razors and guns
Your brothers were more than happy to hear that, though you'd gotten more than a few comments muttered by Pol
If you really wanted to, you could always be a doctor or a lawyer later in life, for now this is what you wanted most
You were finally part of your family
Within the first week, you have a full list of what could be improved and you're center stage in the family meeting
To say that was nerve wrecking was an understatement
Tommy had his doubts, of course, but John knew you'd been keeping their heads above water for a long time
"Go on then, you've got our attention."
You were the one they went to check over the books, the numbers, catching mistakes no one else did
It wasn't just spelling mistakes or addition issues, you were taking stock in inventory, in all the bullets that were wasted, the little things that went missing that no one seemed to notice
It didn't take long for you to work your way up, prove yourself not only to Tommy, but Pol too, showing her this wasn't a waste of your time
She's still not thrilled, but you're as stubborn as the rest, and she knows it's a losing battle
At least you're being smart with your work
Tommy made you check over every contract and agreement he made, making sure he didn't miss a single detail that would screw them over
He brought you to the races too, working out probability, though your math was shaky at best under that kind of pressure and uncertainty
You were the one counting the profits and losses too, weighing the options of whether or not to invest
You're really the only one who knows just how much the family makes
That is a dangerous thing in itself
You make friends quite easily
Not only can you speak an array of languages, bonding with everyone, but you've got that Shelby charm and good looks, too
You're quite popular, though your brothers constantly get in the way of any potential relationship
You're smart though, and not just for their gain, but yours too
If and when you're ready to date, you'll find a way
Alfie adores you
Tommy drives him mad, but he'd have you over any day
Not only does he love the fact that you can keep up with him, witty beyond belief, but your Hebrew is perfect
"So, you're the brains behind the whole operation?"
"Something like that."
You're brought along to a lot of in person deals
You pick up on things no one else does, remembering the littlest of things that can and will be weaponized if need be
Their kids and spouses names, the way they look at you, how they speak and carry themselves
It doesn't take long for you to know exactly who they are
"They're lying Tom. I know they are."
"How can you tell?"
"They look away when they answer, their eye twitches, and they always lean forward when they're saying something true."
"You got all that from a five minute conversation?"
You're not only their beloved little sibling, but the perfect weapon
They don't teach you how to use a gun, but you've been watching for years, making note of every tiny detail
When you do use a gun, which is inevitable, it's a perfect shot
Arthur and Tom insist you carry something with you, but you're fine sticking with a simple razor
The guns can stay with them. . . .
Not only does it come in handy with work, but your family, too
You pick up on the way Arthur escalates, talking him down before there's a full outburst
You know the nights Tommy does and doesn't sleep just by the sound of his voice, the way he signs his name
You know when to check up on Ada if she's not doing well after Freddies gone, even if no one else can see the hurt in her eyes
That's the thing everyone seems to forget, is that you're not only book smart, but people smart, too
Constantly making fun of your siblings right in front of them
"Pol, y/n's making fun of me!"
"I am not! You don't even speak Russian."
"No, but I can guess."
He'd never admit it to you, but Finn really is amazed by you
Ever since he was a kid he always looked up to you
School and homework and all that never came easy to him, and it lead to him giving up, so the fact that all of this comes so easy makes him proud to be your brother
"Y/n, curse in a language we all know or don't say it all."
Along with learning weapons along the way, you pick up on how to be a nurse, tending to whatever it needed
From your nieces and nephews scraped knees to bullet wounds
"Do not get blood on my new shirt!"
No one really suspects you to be listening or watching the way you do, so when they need it, you go "undercover"
Gaining the trust of the enemy, pretending to be a stranger that just so happens to get their attention as if you hadn't been figuring out what makes them tick, distracting them with drinks and small talk
If anything goes wrong, you picked up on how to get away, how to fight without getting too much attention, and not just by watching
With a memory like yours, there are some things you'd like to forget and can't
A lot of things do leave you with nightmares, with flashes of panic, with this dreadful feeling in your gut like you'd seen it all before
At one point or another you've called your siblings and aunt in the middle of the night, just to check up on them, see if they're okay
Begging your brothers to be more careful
They rarely ever listen though
"Is there anything you can't do?"
"I can't go on a date."
"Nope, not until you're forty."
"Come on Arthur, you can't scare them all away."
Despite all this, you're still treated like a child
Your siblings still see you as that smart little kid correcting their work and growing bored of even the most complicated things
No matter what you do or say, you'll always be small in their eyes

We meet Lucy, we meet Samantha and her twins & Mother Nature gets a little bit mad. But on the upside - she loves Tony :)
Kind reminder that this story will have horror/thriller elements & graphic descriptions of blood, gore and all the nasty stuff associated with superhero battles described in some detail. This chapter contains some of that.
Honestly, this story is getting- uhh- 8-12 notes on Tumblr. It's got a decent following on AO3 which brings me joy because I truly do enjoy the worldbuilding to a, perhaps, guilty amount. So if you like it too - please reblog :)
Tumblr media
The fabric of my skirt was suddenly yanked and I jumped, dropping my phone and startling out of my daze. Two big, blue eyes stared up at me, curiousity mixed with impatience in them. I crouched down to pick up my device, coming face to face with a tiny blonde girl about nine or ten years of age.
"Lucy, hi!" I squeezed out a smile at the child. She looked pale, as if she'd never seen the slightest bit of sunlight, chubby cheeks contrasted by an overall spindliness of her body. Her dress was a puffy, long-sleeved, red and white polka dotted monstrosity with at least two petticoats that made her seem bigger than she actually was. "Sorry, didn't see you there. Long day at work," despite there being a worm of anxiety crawling deeply in my chest, I heeded the warnings on the list of rules and swallowed any unease I had.
Which was a hard feat. The stairs had gotten confused and I lost ten minutes of time going back, over and over, after encountering floors "5", "8" and "19" instead of my third floor, in a five story building. The building providing extra floors shouldn't have surprised me that much but the worst was fighting with the desire to explore them, my rational brain unhelpfully supplying that if this building was truly dangerous, nobody would be living in it.
The pull was almost unnatural in its strength yet my protection charms remained unaffected. Too tired from returning to work, I decided to distract myself with my phone - and nearly ran poor little Lucy off her feet.
"You are new," she signed to me slowly, carefully observing my reaction to her using ASL.
I had been truly unsettled by the rule list, perhaps more than I wanted to admit to myself, so I spent a night wide awake brushing up my meager sign language skills. "Yes, my name is Star," I replied, not quite sure if I wanted to shake her hand or simply make myself scarce as soon as possible.
Lucy gave me a closed-lipped grin, swooshing her puffy skirts in what I perceived to be a calculated amount of shyness. "Can I play with you, please?" Her hands moved a little more rapidly as she side-eyed my apartment door.
I briefly ran a mental checklist of the contents of my fridge. "Sure," I figured that two leftover steaks in it would be more than enough for the little girl. I'd splurged and gotten four prime pieces of meat to treat myself after a hectic moving process, cooking only half of them on the first day. "Come on it. You hungry?"
The door swung open as I led Lucy in, her bright dress and pale skin standing out in the twilight of my apartment. She nodded her head seriously, looking at me from head to toe as shivers ran up and down my spine. My bag was unceremoniously dumped on the couch, my socked feet shuffling into the kitchen and beelining for the fridge.
Lucy followed me quietly, taking a seat at the dinner table and folding her thin arms atop it, expectant blue eyes following my every move. As I plated the meat and reached for the roll of paper towels, I felt like I was being examined under a microscope. Somewhere in the distance, a quiet hissing noise was beginning to rise.
Lucy politely declined the fork and knife I attempted to give her so I just set down the plate in front of her, leaving the kitchen to change out of my dusty, sweaty clothes, too tired to really worry about the loud, sloppy and wet chewing noises and low growling coming from the dining area. I decided as long as she wasn't attempting to have me for dinner, I was going to be just fine.
I found Lucy on the carpet of my living room, flipping through a fashion magazine she'd found somewhere after I was done with scavenging some sweatpants from my mostly-unpacked closet. Her blonde curls bounced as she looked up at me with another tight smile, this time looking calmer, friendlier somehow. "I like those dresses," she signed, pointing at a few pictures with models wearing ballroom gowns in all kinds of colours. "And these..." She pointed out a tiara, probably not knowing how to sign the words.
"This is a tiara," I spoke slowly, signing the last word with my hands carefully as she observed. And then a few more times, until she repeated her last sentence perfectly. "Good job, Lucy," I praised her as she beamed at me. The river of quiet, scratchy giggles never stopped as she pointed out various things and I tried to sign them to the best of my ability, Lucy not showing any signs of upset whatsoever if I couldn't get the name for something right.
After some time, it was beginning to get very dark outside and a couple of pointed glances at the clock was all it took for her to stand up and carefully dust off her skirts. "Thank you for playing with me, Star," Lucy signed excitedly. "I like you. Do you want to know a secret?" She leaned in conspirationally, bursting into my space bubble with a lack of care only a child could posess.
I nodded, not trusting my mouth whatsoever. The closer she leaned in, the more overwhelming her smell became. Her pretty dress reeked of mildew and stale water, her breath - of dried blood and something earthen, like moist soil and cold cobblestone.
Lucy's eyes widened dramatically. "If you need answers, go on to the seventh floor. Bring some warm milk and cookies, they won't bother you too much, but be careful and don't stay for too long. You look tasty," I struggled to keep up with her rapid signing, my eyes firmly trained on her. Lucy's hand carefully patted my cheek and in my frozen state, I could only wave back as she skipped to the door and unlocked it, giving me one of her closed-lipped smiles before disappearing behind it without a noise.
The lock slid shut on it's own after the girl's departure. My heart briefly jumped up into my throat, trapping my jerky inhale in-between my throat and my esophagus. Coughing, I went on to double check the door lock before scrambling for the TV remote to add some background noise to the suddenly eerily quiet apartment.
The sit-com that popped up wasn't any of the ones I knew so I sat helplessly watching unfamiliar people get themselves into more and more absurd situations as the grating noise of pre-recorded audience laughter mocked the characters actions. A sudden shriek pierced the late night stillness, followed by a sound of breaking dishes and a woman's voice tiredly chastising the miscreants.
Samantha.
I'd seen her a few times as she smoked her strong cigarettes in front of the entrance, her twins running in circles around the large pothole in the middle of the driveway. She'd been friendly enough, the dark circles under her eyes and the unkempt state of her clothes telling me more than her words, "I love them, I really do. But I just want some sleep," she rasped as she sighed and attempted to gather her two kids.
I didn't examine them too closely but on first moment's notice their eyes and teeth appeared... Wrong. Samantha had taken them inside after that, clutching a coffee thermos of a size truly impressive, and I went on my merry way, trying not to think too much of the poor, single mother and her two mutant kids. I felt a little proud, even, as she didn't just abandon them like many other people did after discovering their children had an active X-gene.
It didn't take me long to cave in and offer my help with watching the twins, Anya and Arman; one noisy weekend bled into the next and I began to genuinely feel bad for the overtired woman. Inviting the two terrors into my apartment was a choice I had made mindfully: having asked Odette about advice on hyperactive children, she had proposed a puzzle or two.
The thrifted, wooden items weren't able to hold the twins' attention for long, and Anya was the first one to begin gnawing at the hard blocks, covering the area around her in splinters. Arman was a quiet boy compared to his sister: he'd stare at the TV or at the walls, avoiding eye contact and conversation at great lengths.
My couch was jumped on, my dishes were taken out and my houseplants rearranged chaotically; it was almost as if they purposefully tried to get a rise out of me without doing any actual damage. I spent the remaining few hours of my Sunday putting things back in their places - all that pent up frustration had done wonders for the state of my apartment; it sparkled, looking cleaner than the day I moved in.
The babysitting became a somewhat regular occurrence, more often than not with me popping in for a couple of hours so Samantha could run some errands and the odd weekend when the twins came over to me so Sam could get some much-needed sleep.
She was a kind, gentle if chronically overworked woman. We clicked pretty quickly over our shared desire for comfortable stability and some fucking peace; neither I nor she had it in sights for the foreseeable future. Sam's reaction to me being a witch was a shrug and a top up to her wine glass as she pointedly looked at her daughter who was busy chewing on a door handle, leaving small, jagged marks all over the dull metal.
I just had gotten sorted with a bunch of complicated orders when the radio interrupted Eric Clapton with an emergency message and instructions to steer clear of the next few blocks over. Something had hit NYC again and Avengers had been called but nobody knew exactly what it was or when it was going to be dealt with.
As soon as I shot a text to Sam, explaining the situation, I immediately retreated to the back rooms, setting up my healing station over the noise of Odette preparing her office for visitors. For some time, I waited with baited breath, jumping at every little noise coming from the outside. The people tickled in slowly, mostly one by one and all were covered in foul-smelling sludge that evaporated with a loud hiss when the concentrated light of the UV lamp in my office touched it.
"Some kind of aliens, I think," a man with a face somewhere between a human and a hedgehog told me, wincing as he retracted his spikes back into his skin. "There's a hole- a portal, right on a crossroads and there's these things coming out. They kinda look like dragons, or flying snakes maybe," the more light breached the surface of his skin, the more relaxed he became. "The Sorcerer and the Witch are trying to close the portal, unsuccessfully might I add, and the muscle is just," he paused, scratching his chin. "Just killin' 'em, I guess."
I nodded enthusiastically, prompting him to continue to rely the state of the affairs as I applied the thick, viscous ointment on a gash on his leg. "It's hammer and Frisbee time," I mumbled to myself sarcastically.
"Yep," the man popped the 'p'. "Most of us are trying to keep the creatures contained to that one block. I saw Iron Man blasting off some of the creatures off of some of my friends," the last sentence contained a great deal of puzzlement. "Though you won't be seeing much of us this time. These things... They're vicious. They've got claws the size of my foot. A lot of us are going to die where they gut us," the sentence was spoken so matter-of-factly, my hands paused on the man's leg, bringing my eyes to his unblinking dots of black.
"What do you mean?" I swallowed in an attempt to chase away the dry, rough feeling in my throat.
"Those beasts... They're smart. One of my friends - she's a... Telepath of sorts... Says they're an intelligent hivemind," the man's broad, warm palm closed over mine. "The beasts leave only the ones that won't get help in time. They can smell death from a mile away. That's how they hunt," his voice was gentle, soothing over the sudden ringing of my ears.
"I..." My mind stuttered, a sticky ball of anxiety, fear and sorrow gathering up in my chest. "I'm so sorry. I..."
"We know what we're doing, out there, we know the risks," his smile was tight and full of grief. "You're doing your part here, makin' sure our babies have parents. We're out there makin' sure our streets are safe. Such is life," the grin acceptance in his pitch-black, small eyes set fire to the tension in my chest.
I exploded, inside out. The sudden burst of decisive, clear-headed energy made the objects around me vibrate, metal resonated my sorrow and my determination, the wood heated up with the force of Mother Nature itself responding to an act of cruelty bestowed upon her creations.
As soon as the man's bandage was finished and he headed out, I grabbed my old, ratty backpack, hastily shoving things into it in a semi-organized fashion. Clean linen strips, bandages, some premade elixirs and draughts, a few jars of salves, carefully tucked in-between the cloth. As I knocked on the door of Odette's office to retrieve the last few items I would need for my reckless journey, the door handle turned on its own, letting me observe her tending a woman who's skin was peeled off most of her back.
"Can't you see I'm..." Odette exclaimed, throwing her free hand towards the door, which did not budge. She turned on her heel, eyes widening when she observed my wide, solid stance in the doorway, lips immediately curling into a small grin. "I understand. Take what you need. It's not wise to resist Her call," the words were spoken carefully, as if not to spook me, before Odette resumed her delicate work of putting the injured woman back together.
Without a word, I finished packing and left through the front door, not needing more than my scarf and my light sweater to keep me from the freezing gusts of wind. My very core was the centrefold of an active volcano, bursting with white-hot bursts of energy as I approached the injured people on my way towards the terrible screeching noise.
This far out, most of the injured were able to make it to Odette's or to the other healer, who's name I had found out only then, but they were thankful for the water I offered them. Not once did they question me: my star-patterned scarf, out of all things, had become somewhat of a symbol for me among the different folk. Mutants approached me fearlessly, giving generous updates on the direction of the battle and the hotspots I probably should have avoided.
The louder the screeching noises grew, the more people needed my help. The stops took longer, my painkillers were becoming a short supply, the main relief provided by a couple of mid-range, mid-strength energy manipulating mutants that began to tail me after I offered to patch them up in exchange for help with the injured.
It was as if I instinctually knew where I was most needed, my decisions were seldom my own. Me and the two mutants bid a haste goodbye after loading up their truck with the injured, although deep inside, I knew that the amount of corpses, bloody and messy, littering the streets had begun to get to them. In a normal state of mind, I would not have been able to look at them either: then, each mangled, broken body only added fuel to the fire within me.
As I stepped foot in an intersection where someone had piled up bent and broken cars, the shadow flying over my head shrieked, taking a fluid nose dive towards another, smaller flying figure. I dropped flat on the ground, the contents of my backpack clattering, watching the small figure in the sky blast the beast with an off-blue ray of concentrated energy. As soon as the creature began it's graceless drop, Tony turned around and flew off, looking none worse for wear.
At the very centre of my chest, a faint feeling of fondness and hope blossomed into tiny little flowers that soothed the aching sorrow for the dead. Each warcry of the beasts from another world fed the anger, the anguish Gaia seemed to exhibit at their intrusion; the revolt I felt upon laying my eyes on one of them made me sweat, hands clenching into fists until my skin crawled under my nails.
The last part of me that wanted to pretend I was in control was gone; my soft, untrained body a mere vessel for a force stronger than me, stronger than anything. Noise around me grew in pitch, some of the creatures circling around my hiding spot cluelessly, aimlessly, as if they could not find what they were looking for.
I moved spots in a daring series of runs, bringing me almost to the portal itself, and the hellish lizards dived into my previous sanctuary, shattering the concrete and the wood of the house under the amused black stares of glassless windows.
The realization set it - they could not see me. Or perceive me properly, I deduced, inspecting the creatures for any sort of orifice except for their mouths and finding them to lack eyes and ears.
My own stare fell onto Sorcerer Supreme, floating amongst a variety of moving golden circles; I was close enough to hear him talking in a language I did not know. Wanda was hovering nearby, holding up a wall of red energy, protecting the chanting sorcerer.
A united screech invoked a shiver from every living being within it's reach, the creatures circling the portal for the last time before flying off in haphazard directions as the portal slowly began to close. I was prepared to cheer, yet, something stopped me; not a second later, the circles surrounding Stephen dimmed as the man himself jumped up onto his feet in alarm, screaming something unintelligible at the Scarlet Witch.
The overturned food cart I was hiding behind slowly began to creep towards the portal. A couple of rats, a pigeon - the animals flew in front of my eyes, rapidly, as they struggled against the unseen force. My hands grasped the handlebars of the cart in vain, I struggled against the force, seeing a moment of confusion on Wanda's face as I floated- no, rocketed past her as Stephen's golden magic forcefully pushed her out of the portal's reach.
It's size no bigger than a doorway, the vile thing blew cold, dry air under my sweater, muffling Stephen's cursing as we briefly collided during our violent expulsion into another world.
And then, there was darkness.

You can't lie. You can't wait to tell your husband that you're pregnant, seeing the double pink bar in the pregnancy test. Even if you have never talked about having kids, you know pretty well which one is going to be his reaction. Keeping it in your bag, you walk straight to the garage, stepping in your car to turn on the engine, with a very clear destination. On your way to the clubhouse, you try to find how to tell him. You have the typical option of putting him apart from the rest, and show him the test. But you want it to be a little more special, keeping in mind the fact that Mayans are your family too. And they're going to be so excited about finding it out too. So, maybe you're starting to find a good way to do it. They are going to freak out.
Parking your car at the end of the scrap alley, close to the big green door, Coco and Angel look at you confused not knowing that you are doing there. Actually, you have never needed a reason to visit them, being like your second home, but you should be working not walking around the scrapyard. Coming towards you, they welcomed you with two tight hugs and some kisses.
“Everything okay, mami?” Coco asks, making you nod at the instant after.
“I need you all at Templo”.
Angel furrows his brow somewhat confused, shrugging his shoulders before placing an arm over yours, while the other mexican takes the advantage to call them all. No one asks about it, just obeying a little puzzled, taking their seats around the big Mayans table. Your excited smile is confounding your family much more, closing the door to not be heard by the other girls. You actually aren't friends with them, always trying to catch your man at any cost with a fixation that fucks you up, even if he doesn't give it any importance. Maybe now, they will stop.
“Okay, com'ere”. You finally say, making a gesture to Tranq, who gets up raising an eyebrow walking towards you to the other extreme of the table, in front of the president.
“It wasn't me”.
Make them all laugh, you shake your head chuckling.
“Believe me, mi amor, it was you”. You reply, licking your bottom lip. “So… something happened. Something unexpected…”
Holding his hands, you can watch him barely breathing, with a gesture look installed on his face.
“And I could tell you being alone at home. But, they are our family too”.
“I'm not going to give you divorce”.
Laughing again, you begin to feel more nervous. And you can't help but infect the guys, because you can't stop your laughter.
“Ay…” You mutter cleaning a tear, falling from a corner of your right eye. “No, no, listen… Okay, let's see how I say it”.
“How do you say what? You're kicking me out from my calm”.
“How to tell you that I'm pregnant”.
You can hear his heart stopping dead, in the middle of the silence. The crew look at each other, widen eyes, mouth dropped to the floor.
“Do you mean it's a baby inside our baby?” Turning at Bishop with a huge smile on your lips, you just nod.
“Damn! There's a baby inside our baby”. Taza replies fascinated, not knowing if he's allowed to already hug you or wait for your husband to say something.
“You have to be fucking kidding me”.
“Nope”.
“Yes, you have to be fucking kidding me”.
“Ah… nope”.
“Seriously, stop fucking kidding me”.
Rolling your eyes, you lose his hands to look for the pregnancy test in your bag, offering it to him as soon as you find it. Tranq has his eyes fixed on the test, raising his gaze towards yours, to put it down again, and sinking into an infinite loop.
“That's one of those prank tests”.
“Nope”.
“You're fucking kidding me”.
“If he says that it's a joke again, I suggest drinking a shot. Probably, we will be drunk in less than ten minutes”. Riz whispers over the table.
From nowhere, you can watch your husband's eyes getting a little reddened with a bunch of tears stucking in.
“We better let them alone, while we organized a family party”. Taza opines, getting up from his chair as his brothers do, palming Hank's back and kissing your cheeks before leaving.
“So… you are still believing that it's a joke?” You mumble, but he can't say anything looking back at you. “Are you happy?”
He nods in a slight gesture, letting his tears fall down by his face.
“Aw, mi amor…” You chuckle about to cry too, surrounding his neck with both arms.
Wrapping your body with both arms, so, so tightly, Tranq rests his forehead over your shoulder. His weeping becomes louder, starting to laugh from nowhere.
“I'm going to be the best father, you will see”. He claims very proud and convinced.
“I know it, papi”. You smirk at him, pulling yourself somewhat away to clean his tears.
“Damn… I couldn't think you would make me this happy, mi amor”. Your husband kisses your face all around, cupping your cheeks into his huge hands, tangling yours in his shirt.
Urging you to jump into him, surrounding his waist with both legs, he sits you over the table. Sinking his face in your neck, he hugs you again, sneaking his hands under your shirt to place them over your belly, stroking it with his thumbs. The last time you saw him smiling so happy was on your wedding day, waiting for you at the altar.
“We could find out if it's a boy or a girl in two weeks. What would you like, ah?” You whisper, gently caressing his scalp and the back of his head with both hands.
“I don't mind, mami”. He responds with a low tone of voice. “I will love our baby anyway”.
“Sounds good, ah?”
“Our family, sounds better than anything”.

A Summer to Remember Ch4
CW: internalized homophobia
the f slur and queer used as a slur
[Ned Pov]
My eyes fluttered open to the sound of birds early in the morning. It was still dark outside. I looked down at Maude who was spooned into my arms. I recalled the conversation we had last night. As much as I wanted to hide from it, it was clear that I was homosexual. . .a queer. The word queer made me wince for some reason. I was gay, I was a gay man. It made too much sense. I bit my lip suddenly remembering something that happened in my youth. I remembered being in a group of.  . . secular non-Christian people. It was the early 70s and no one knew where I was. They didn't have to know. It was simple teen curiosity; there was a desire to explore the world that was kept away from me. Again, I always had an innate curiosity to understand. It's impossible for a person to be perfectly free from sin. It was only human nature to have sinful tendencies. What I'm trying to say is I tried marijuana. It wasn't that bad. I actually felt less stressed than I  usually was but let's not focus on that. There was this boy. This boy who was good with the guitar. He had long hair and wore blush from time to time. He called himself bisexual. I remembered how comfortable I had gotten with him one afternoon where we all were hanging out by a river. I remember the smoke and the lesbians who had made love in the shallow water. There were s'mores and homemade tea. By all logic I should have felt scared I was there; I wasn't.
I got up close to him by my own will, I remember. He asked me if I had ever kissed a boy before. I hadn't. He asked if I wanted to. Despite the quiet guilt in my soul I nodded. We kissed and kissed again and again until I got a hang of the rhythm. I liked it. The more I reflected on the memory, I remembered how much I enjoyed it. I stared at the window thinking while watching the warm glow of sunrise touch the curtains. I really am gay aren't I?
I looked down when I felt Maude move and wake up. She stretched her arms and legs and blinked awake. She smiled at me, "Good morning."
          "Mornin."
She pressed a small kiss on my cheek and sat up.
"You don't have to do that kind of stuff to me if you're not comfortable."
"Hm? Oh. .I'm sorry it just felt natural I don't know. Are you uncomfortable?"
"No, not at all. . .shouldn't I be uncomfortable?"She shrugged. "It doesn't mean anything inherently romantic to me. . .does that sound silly?"
I shook my head, "I don't think so. .but I get what you mean."
She rubbed her eyes and played with her hair.
"So. . when you said you where gay last night do you mean. .?"
         "That I'm a. . . lesbian? Yeah, yeah I think I'm a lesbian. Sounds right."
  "That's just lovely Maude."
She frowned, "Is it? I. .thought it wasn't right to be. .-"
I laid there thinking for a minute, "Is it really wrong?"
        "I'm not sure. . "
"It's just love. I can't see what's so wrong about it. . . Maude I. .I kissed a boy when I was younger." Why did I suddenly feel ashamed? It was just a kiss. Imagine what my uncle would say. He'd probably call me a f*gg*t or something. What would Reverend Lovejoy say? I suddenly felt sick to my stomach.
"Oh? Hm. . . was it nice?"
"Yeah. ." I stared at the wall again.
"Are you going to tell them?"
"Me?"
    She nodded.
"I'm not sure. You?"
        "I'm too scared."
"I understand." I pet her upper back to comfort her.
[Maude pov]
After breakfast we followed Tim and Helen led us to the Rock climbing area. There was this gigantic wall in front of us. It had multicolored rubber rocks that I adored. It wasn't my first rodeo with rock climbing. I had climbed with Ned plenty of times. I smiled up at them with anticipation. I had on some white tee from a church event and
jean shorts that reached my knees.
"Now this exercise is supposed to encourage teamwork and support in each other. When this world brings you down you need to have someone to encourage you." Helen explained as Timothy put on a harness. Helen looked at me puzzled as I put on one myself.
"What? It's not on backwards is it?"
"Oh, no it's just that. . ." She trailed off looking at my harness. She bit her lip lightly for a second before her concentration quickly returned. "Well I was going to have Ned climbing the wall but that's fine that works. . .Maude, are you sure you can?"
"I've done this many times." I smiled and laughed.
"Oh. Okay." She said a bit surprised.
Was it just me or did she blush? Was she checking me out. . .? No, no it had to be my imagination. I dismissed any other possibility of why she looked at me like that.
Once me and Tim were set up we started our climb. I made a speedy start grabbing onto each rock I saw available. It was fairly easy. I made a mental note of the colors. I loved them. Red pink yellow pink orange red blue green red turquoise. I focused on the rocks and moving.
"You got this Maude!" Ned cheered. I smiled and kept on climbing. I glanced over at Timothy who was only a couple feet from the ground. It seemed I had more upper arm strength than him. I wouldn't have guessed.
"I believe in you Timothy! You're doing great. One at a time." Helen cheered, encouraging him. God bless her, she's so sweet. He nodded and slowly found himself a bit higher. At some point I got stuck.
"Go left, use your legs!" Ned coached. I nodded and did as he advised. Tim had caught up with me before I made my way ahead of him again. Before I knew it I was at the very top.
I sat on the wall and smiled as Ned clapped for me. Helen was clapping too. So cute of her. I stared out at the trees and the shimmering lake as Tim was making the rest of his way up. Do I like Helen? I asked myself. Of course I did, she's been my best friend for years. But, Ned was also mine for longer. Yet, something in her sparkled that hadn't in Ned. Every time I had saw her, things we're better. I felt . .giddy. Oh. . .oh. I do love her. I love her more than anything. My chest had ached. Oh God, I love her.
"I'm so proud of you!" I looked down at Helen who was cheering at her husband who loved her too. She loved him. She loves him, not me. She's straight, I think. It didn't matter anyways. I sighed. Still I couldn't help but smile. I was in love and couldn't do anything about it. I wonder how Ned was coping with this yearning. I then faced the wall and quickly leaped my way down. With gravity and my emotions taking over me I couldn't help but laugh. I landed on the ground giggling. "That was fun." I snorted and covered my mouth blushing. But then she laughed too. "Oh Maude, that's adorable." She put an arm around my shoulder. Oh God I could kiss her right now. She's so close yet so far from reach. So I just stood there blushing and smiling. Tim slowly but surely came down with a bit of a dizzy stumble. Ned was close and caught him. For a moment the two men were arm in arm. Tim smiled bashfully and a tad embarrassed.
       "Thanks."
Ned stared at him a moment before helping him stand-up straight. "You did great, Reverend." Neddy said smiling. The poor thing. He must feel the same ache in his soul. He has to.
[Ned pov]
Later that day I found Timothy by the river. He was just sitting there watching it flow. I had to ask. I needed to know what he thought on the matter. Despite everything, I felt in my soul it was right and only natural. But I just needed to know. You always need to know, it'll be death of you, Ned. I sighed and walked up to him before sitting by him on the grass by the sore. "Hi Reverend."
"Ned, we're friends, you can just call me Timothy. Really I insist."
"Of course. Timothy," his name was so intense. Calling him by his name was so tender and intimate it almost felt wrong. "I wanted to talk to you about something. Well, I at least wanted to hear your thoughts on the matter."
"What is it?" He looked at me slightly exhausted. I felt a pang of guilt. He probably wanted a break from being asked things everyday. It had to be exhausting. But I needed to know. I knew it was important.
"What do you think about homosexuality?"
"Hmm. . ." He hummed and looked out on the lake. "Sexual deviance isn't a good thing."
"Deviance?" I felt a bit hurt. Was it really cheating if my wife knew how I felt. I mean, it would be if I kissed a married man. I wanted to kiss a married man. Am I lusting? Is this sin? The homosexuality couldn't be though. "Is it really deviance??"
Tim paused to think again. "Well. Hm. There are some verses-"
"I know, I've heard about them. But I don't think they're talking about homosexuality. It could be just an error. It could be referring to a completely different sin. But if you don't mind my boldness Reverend, I really don't think it's a sin at all."
     He nodded slowly, pensive.
"There are verses that have forbidden the consumption of some meats that were unsafe at the time. . .hmm. That's not a sin at all anymore. Perhaps there was a misunderstanding. Prophets are still human after all." He stared at the water. "I suppose homosexuality isn't so bad. Why, it's not bad at all. I mean everyone feels sexuality . . .right?" He looked a bit confused. I wasn't sure why. Was he gay? No. . . was he?
          "I believe so."
He stared at the water thinking, I assume. I looked at those hands that tempted me. Guilt was burning me alive.
      "Timothy I've been sinning!"
He looked at me startled at my outburst.
"Ned. . Ned, why are you asking me about this? Is. .this why you and Maude are having issues? Are you gay?"
I froze.
"Ned you said it yourself and I agree, I don't think homosexuality is a legit sin."
"No. I mean, no that's not the issue." I felt my eyes water.
"Ned. ."
"I've been lusting after a married man! That's a sin!"
"Ned. . .are you talking about me? Do you like me that way?" His eyes were wide.
"I do." I started to cry.
"Why are you crying?"
I looked at him like he was absurd.
       "It's lusting!"
"Eh, well. You're not acting on it. I'm sure the Lord understands your intentions and will forgive them."
     I shrugged, "I understand if you're uncomfortable. ."
"Not really. Don't worry about it."
"I just don't want to ruin anything."
          "I understand."
"How long have you felt like this?"
                   "I . .I don't know. Maybe I was born like this."
      "Born??" He looked confused.
"Well not literally. I mean. I've just always liked men." I rubbed my arm anxiously. I was still trying to make peace with myself.
Timothy stared at the ground, his eyes furrowed.
 "Like them?"
"Yeah. Like I've just always wanted to.  . .kiss them and stuff. You know?"
He slowly shook his head looking a bit lost.
   "I don't understand."
I suddenly felt sick. Did he think my attraction was that weird?
"It's just the same feeling that you get  with women."
He fiddled with his hands. He looked really uncomfortable.
    "What's wrong? Is it me?"
"No it's not you.  You're fine Ned I promise. I'm glad you decided to come to me about this." He closed his eyes and bit at his finger gingerly. I had seen him do this a couple times. It was usually when he got stressed or something. "Does Maude know?"
"Yeah. She took it well."
"Good." He stood up and walked off.

KELLY SEVERIDE
Trust
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Requested: yes
Prompts: none
Warnings: none
Authors note: /
"One day... I swear to god... I will smack her ass off the planet." Shay mumbles next to you. She practically gave up on packing the jump bag and is now spying on Nicki Rutkowski. "How does she not bother you? Do you see the way she's ogling Kelly? Like he's a piece of meat on a stick that's walking around."
"Are you saying that I should be jealous of her?" You tuck a piece of stranded hair behind your ear and turn to look the same way your best friend is looking.
"No. I mean... You trust Kelly right? Given his reputation you know?" Shay is his best friend and loves him as much as you do but his manwhore reputation sometimes overshines his great personality you two know.
"We've been together for 2 years and so far he hasn't looked a woman's way." You note and jump in the ambo to store the bag.
"Oh my God Y/N look. Look!!" She whisper yells and practically pulls you out of the ambulance.
Firehouse 51's payroll clerk, that is Nicki, is sashaying her way outside her office and towards the squad table. The tips of her pointy heels are touching Kelly's chair. That's how close she was. She stood there in her red mini dress looking like a red pepper while talking to Kelly.
"Do you see how close she is??!" Shay notices.
As much as it hurt you to admit, jealously pushed through. You shook your head and tried to empty your thoughts. When you're working, while you have your hair in a bun or a ponytail she has it straightened or curled and let loose. While she wears the clothes she wants you're stuck in your uniform.
She looks like a million bucks while you don't.
"No, no, no. Don't give me that look Y/N." Leslie is immediately in front of you with hands on your shoulders, shaking you. She's blocking the clear view you used to have of them. "Just because she can dress up while working doesn't mean she's prettier than you. As far as I know you're the one that's saving lives and she's the one that answers calls."
The pep talk she gave you made you feel better. But that betterness you felt dissappeared the moment you noticed from the corner of your eye that Kelly followed her into the changing room.
***
"Hey Y/LN." A high pitched voice stopped you from going to your bed and taking a nap. "Could you please do me a favour?"
You take a deep breath, plaster on a fake smile and turn around to face her. "Yeah sure. What's up?"
"So I wanted to cook something for Kelly since we're having dinner tonight. You know nothing special but I don't know what to make." She starts with a smile on her face. "Maybe you could give me some ideas?"
Your heart shattered. "Severide and you?"
"Well I asked if him if you wanted to tag along but he said that it'll be better if you didn't go since you said that you were feeling sick. You shouldn't have come to work you know?" Her face concern didn't faze you at all. It was the fact that this was happening to you while you were openly dating and everyone in the house knew. Including her.
With everything that's been going on you weren't surprised that this was happening. But it still hurt you deeply. "He changes his mind a lot. I wouldn't know. Sorry Nicki."
With that you walked away and held your tears in.
***
When you catched him smiling by himself in the locker room you lost it.
As much as you wanted to take things home and sort them out there, the pain and betrayal you felt whenever you saw him smiling was too much.
"What the fuck Kelly?" You raged.
"Sorry?" The suprise on his face was genuine but your feelings masked it.
"You think I wasn't going to find out that you're going to be having a fun time while dining with the clerk?" Her words and actions replayed in your head.
"Baby what?" He was genuinely puzzled. "Did Nicki do something to you?"
"Oh now you two are on a first name basis. Great!"
"No... No we're... Y/N what's going on?"
"I don't know you tell me!" You tell him. "Why do I have to come to work and see her all over you all the time!? Now she tells me you two are having dinner that you specifically didn't want me to go to! All after you followed her skimpy ass to the changing room to do god knows what!"
You two did things there that you weren't necessarily proud of. Only one thought came to your head when you thought about what the two of them did in there.
"Jesus Christ..." Realization surfaces on his face as he connects the dots. "What else did she tell you?"
"She asked me to recommend me food you like so she can cook it for you." Silence filled the air and so you continued to speak.
"Kelly I never judged you for your past. Never. Denying the fact that it made me insecure would be a lie but I trusted you! I trusted you every step of the way and you proved yourself." Tears start to collect but you fight them back. "I can't make you love me and I can't make you keep this relationship going but don't end it like this."
By the time you finished you were a mess and Kelly was raging. You didn't fight back when he pulled you into his arms and soothed you the right way. He pressed soft sincere kisses to your head and apologised for making you feel this way.
"So you didn't have sex with her in the changing room?" You fixed yourself and wiped your tears away.
Kelly chucked. "The only person with who I had sex in there is you."
Blood flowed to your cheeks in the speed of light. Soon your cheeks were tinted with the rosy color Kelly adored.
"So what did you do in there?"
"She showed me where my new uniform was since the last one was destroyed in the fire last week." You remembered last week, when his jacket was completely destroyed in the fire. It made you worried sick.
"What about dinner?"
He grabbed your hips and pulled you close, "That never happened."
"What about all the times she threw herself on you?"
"I threw her right off. Ask anyone from squad. I have witnesses."
"Yeah Tony and Capp." You chuckled.
"What's wrong with Tony and Capp?" He exclaimed and laughed.
You didn't know what else to tell him. The conclusion you got from this talk was that Kelly is innocent and Nicki is a lying bitch. Something you already kind of knew.
"I'm sorry." You whispered. You felt incredibly guilty for jumping to conclusions right away.
"Hey it's okay." He gave you his heart melting smile. The smile you've been adoring for two years. "Are we good?"
"Yeah we're good."
With your hands placed on his chest you leaned in and kissed him. Moments like this one made your heart skip a beat and brain turn to mush. The kiss was gentle and sweet and it stopped just before it was going to get more passionate and fierce.
"I love you."
"I love you too."

Chapter 4
(in the afternoon)
Spinel and Steven were in the latter's room, after coming back inside the house and spending a few hours partying with the rest of the Crystal Gems and Greg. During that time, everyone had relaxed to the point of having a good time. Steven was proud that everything had turned out so well (especially because he had met a gem without her trying to kill him. Unless it happen to be like with Bismuth. The boy really hoped it didn't end the same way as that time).
Meanwhile, Spinel has been thinking during her time on Earth. Thinking about everything that happened to her and the people she met along the way.
The novelty, the unknown, still terrified her. But she was happy. So far, everything has worked out.
But for how long will the calm last? Something was going to go wrong, for sure. She never felt very lucky, even during her time with Pink.
Those memories were bittersweet. What happened stained them with pain and anger for that diamond. And her games. She didn't want to think about it anymore. She didn't want to remember.
"Spinel?" Steven called noticing how downcast the pink gem was "Is everything alright?"
The gem looked at him, not quite knowing what to do. Tentatively, she moved around the room, aware of the young Universe's gaze on her, until she reached the side of the bed. Not that she knew what it was. After running her hand through that strange cloth, Spinel sat on it, returning Steven's gaze again.
"What now?" she asked, going straight to the point. Confused, Steven moved towards her, intending to sit next to the pink gem. However, seeing how her body tensed, he decided to stop where he was.
"What do you mean, Spinel?" he questioned softly. She tore her gaze away from him, feeling it was too intense for her liking. Too focused on her.
"Surely you don't want me to stay here forever. This is your home. And I ... I'm just a guest-" she was interrupted.
"What are you talking about? Spinel, while I agree it's not a good idea for you to stay here forever, it certainly wouldn't be bad to stay for a while. And if you prefer, we can always ask Bismuth to build a house nearby, so we can visit each other. This can also be your home, after all. We accept everyone!" He exclaimed, enthusiastic, but not very optimistic.
Spinel didn't want to be a burden, for she knew how clingy she was, and how intense and annoying she could be. She'll make everything worse. Surely those were the reasons why Pink left her. My best friend... She abandoned me because I was a nuisance to her. She hated me. And I didn't see it. I was so easy to replace. No. I don't want to be like that anymore. She shook her head, standing up suddenly.
"No"
"No?" questioned the hybrid, puzzled.
"I don't want to be a burden, and I don't want to be in a place that reminds me so much of her" it wasn't the whole truth, but it wasn't a lie either.
"But..." he tried. Then he changed his mind. It was better for Spinel to choose for herself "Okay"
"Is it?" She said surprised. She expected the boy to be more insistent. The pink gem wasn't sure whether to feel relieved or disappointed.
"Of course! If that's your decision, who am I to change your mind?" he replied with a smile. Gently, he reached out and took her hand, laying his other hand on top of hers "and if for some reason you decide you prefer to be here, I will support you. We all will" Spinel felt her face and her gem warm.
Steven Universe, in her opinion, was too nice. She nodded, unable to reply verbally, her throat tight.
The next few minutes passed in silence, both enjoying the quiet, when the brunette came up with an idea.
"Today is your first day on Earth, and there's still some hours left before nightfall" the brunette began after releasing her hand, and heading to the TV "Would you like to see a movie?" He turned to look at her, his hand on the device, this time. Spinel was unable to say no to that face. Not that she would have refused even if he hadn't looked at her like that.
(In another part of the house)
Sunlight illuminated the room, where the crystal gems were staying. Greg Universe was nowhere to be seen. Pearl paced back and forth, while the fusion and the quartz nervously watched her.
"Pearl, you need to calm down. Steven doesn't hate you, and neither does Spinel" Amethyst said tiredly.
"No, we don't know that" she said without pausing in her walk "I made another mistake. I should have... had remembered Spinel! I don't understand how I could forget about her" the pale gem continued. More and more agitated "I destroyed Steven's trust after he found out about Pink Diamond, and now... I did it again. And don't get me started on Spinel...! She probably doesn't want anything to do with me"
Amethyst sighed, feeling useless. She didn't know what to do, or what to say, to make Pearl feel better. Garnet, on the other hand, was silent. Not because of what was happening in the present, but in the future. Or rather, various futures. She couldn't see what was going to happen. Not about Spinel. And not about Steven. And that made her uneasy. There was missing information, a detail that escaped her.
"Garnet? What do you see?" It was Pearl who spoke, noticing the silence from the fusion. That peeked Amethyst's interest.
"I'm not sure..." she replied "There is something about the future that I can't see. Steven did not ask the Diamonds about his problem. We need the information" Admitting that they were again unable to help was heartbreaking for everyone. Even if she didn't show it outwardly, she was really very concerned about their adoptive son.
"You know what? I'm going to contact the Diamonds myself. I don't know why Steven didn't tell them anything, but I'm not going to stand idly by" Amethyst made a decision. Pearl ran to her, grabbing her shoulder.
"Wait. Amethyst, we don't know if they are going to tell us the truth and..." the ex-maid commented with difficulty. Maybe the Diamonds didn't know anything either. And that was even more terrifying.
"And what? We can't just do nothing. " she said, increasingly frustrated "Steven does not even have to find out about this. We can tell him that we got the information from Bismuth or something.
"That won't work" said Garnet.
"And I don't want to lie to him again. He might find out, and this time we would have no excuse. He would never forgive us!" Perla pointed out.
"Pearl is right. But we cannot continue like this either. Tomorrow one of us will keep Steven and Spinel busy (which means, distract them), and the other two will go to Homeworld" ordered the fusion. It was not the time to question her. Both nodded in silent agreement.
(going back to Steven and Spinel)
Both were in front of the television, surrounded by several blankets and cushions on the floor, lights off. Basically it was a sleepover.
"Steven?" Spinel called, noticing a strange sound coming from her side. Receiving no answer, she tore her eyes away from the screen to look at the young diamond. Steven was sleeping peacefully, his head resting on her shoulder pads.
Oh, Spinel thought. I wonder if this is also something only humans do.
Not wanting to disturb him, she didn't move from her position. Her attention returned to the movie. The boy said it was one of his favorites, but Spinel didn't understand why something called the DogCopter was so interesting. Still, she liked it. It just seemed weird to her. Nor did she understand how this device worked. The characters, were they trapped behind that screen? Or maybe they are not alive... It was all so confusing.
There was a knocked on the door. The pink gem didn't noticed. The door opened silently.
"Steven?" said a voice in a whisper.
"Steven is not present" she also answered in a whisper, thinking it was what she was supposed to do.
"Oh. Hey, Spinel" Pearl carefully opened the door completely "What are you doing on the floor?"
The other gem moved ger head slightly to look at the other, while trying not to disturb the hybrid. She didn't want to turn her back on the tall gem. Spinel didn't trust her, yet.
"Steven said this was a... sleep... Sleepover?" she pronounce that word with some difficulty "He also said it would be more comfortable for the both of us"
"Well, that explains this mess" she mumbled. Then she looked at both sides of the room before turning her attention back to the figures in front of her, noticing the sleeping boy. She smiled motherly.
"Do you think you could help me, Spinel?" Pearl asked, approaching them and turning off the TV.
"Help with what?"
"Taking Steven to bed. It is where he should be, now that he is asleep" the pale gem explained, while fixing the bed.
"Asleep," repeated the heart-shaped gem, carefully rising from the ground. She didn't want to wake up Steven.
"Come here" she gave a little tap on the bed, encouraging Spinel.
Spinel, with Pearl's permission, moved toward the object, and deposited as gently as she could the boy on that soft surface. She knew from experience, sitting down there earlier, that the other was right. The bed would be more suitable for Steven.
Taking a step back, she watched the former Pink Diamond's pearl tuck the boy. The same one that gave her another chance. The boy who invited her to stay in his home, even if it was something temporary. How can someone be so sweet?
"Thanks for helping me, Spinel." Pearl's voice brought her out of her thoughts. She nodded shyly, not daring to say anything "Why don't you join me downstairs?" Those words made her tense immediately.
What do they want? Why down? So Steven doesn't find out if they do something to her? A hand on her shoulder, the same one Steven leaned on earlier, she couldn't help noticing, brought the pink gem out of her thoughts again.
"I know that you may not trust us right now. But I promise you, we won't do anything to you" Said Pearl like she read her thoughts.
"Then why...?"
"Because Steven needs to rest, and if we stay here we risk waking him up," the pale gem explained, with great patience.
"We have to leave him alone so he can do this... sleep thingy?" Spinel asked, somewhat confused.
"Trust me, Steven will thank you later"
"Oh..." Spinel looked at the hybrid's face again, feeling somewhat guilty for not leaving him alone earlier, if he needed it so much to sleep well "Ok"
"Thank you" the other gem smiled kindly.
They both left the room and descended quietly, except for the strange squeaks of the pink gem's boots. And as everyone waited for Steven to wake up, Spinel laid her hand on her gem, noticing a strange but familiar warmth coming from it. She is safe.
(Important: no one trust the Diamonds, but that doesn't mean they are not trying to be better - the Diamonds I mean xD And I swear everyone will have their time to shine and be better)

Okay *Demyx voice* Arendelle time!
Poor Sora😂
That gust of snow just moves in and he's like "Coat! Please! I'm an islander!"
Donald just shrugs it off like "That's not how it works. Go and freeze."
This is where I bring up the "kh3 is self aware thing" again because now we actually have Sora dying from the snowy area, and then when Sora just like completely forgets about it, Donald and Goofy are like, "Islander my butt. He's not even feeling it anymore, is he?"
Sora getting the first puzzle piece to the situation when Elsa runs away, a sad look on her face. Y'know, the beginning of that Riku to Elsa and Sora to Anna parallel, Elsa running away because Anna and the whole Kingdom are better off without her
Elsa: *uses magic*
Sora, Donald, and Goofy: *surprised pikachu face and slightly fearing for their lives*
If I'm remembering correctly, there's a section right here where you basically fight a bunch of enemies in the huge area
I distinctly remember running around, (and Xion could vouch for this) fighting the enemies, and very monotonely voicing that I was about to die
So...ice maze.
In my proud runthrough I really had to get to a save point so I zoomed through the ice maze as fast as possible. This time I took the time to explore every room and beat all the enemies. I still hate light rails with a passion.
So, the avalanche gets started at the top once we reach the palace, pushing Sora, Donald, and Goofy off
I... The ice dragon thing was so bad. I spent forever, dying and dying and dying to their stupid laser beams. It happened so many times that I had to go to bed and try it again the next day. I would get to the part where all three flew in the air and shot beams, and it felt so unpredictable and stupid and impossible because I would dodge beams from two, and the third's would appear right under where I was landing, which was impossible to judge. It was here I learned a lesson: Use the Kupo Coin when you need it
Bless the kupo coin for saving my stupid butt
The sled part after that stressed me out cause it wasn't hard, but I had a bad habit of bumping into things, so...😂
I pretty much just abused shotlocks, ultimate form, light form/double form okp, and thunder or thundara or whichever I had at the time and I finished those dragons off
Spiky brown grass 😂😂😂😂
Poor Sora is so frustrated that he didn't get a color like green or blue like Donald and Goofy
The part where Anna talks to Sora about Elsa and he finally puts some pieces together and relates it to him and Riku really gets me every time because their situation is a big Soriku parallel. I know this is one of the scenes that's probably been soriku analyzed to death, but like
Elsa and Anna used to play all the time when they were really little like best friends
Baby Sora and Riku, best friends, used to play together all the time
One day, Elsa shuts Anna out because she doesn't want to hurt her
Kairi enters the scene, Sora starts paying a little more attention to her, Sora and Riku's duo relationship isn't terrible, it just does a little decrease. The literal shutting out in which Riku and Sora close the Door to Darkness. Then, the shutting out when Sora wakes up in kh2 and Riku alienates himself because of his guilt over what he did, and what leads into the next part of the parallel
Elsa accidentally uses her ice magic and flees the kingdom to the north mountain. She alienates herself so she can't hurt anyone (especially Anna) and because she thinks the kingdom and Anna are better off without her
Riku feels like he can't win without using the power of darkness and is weak. He is ashsmed that he relied on darkness and it showed in his appearance as Ansem. He alienates himself from Sora and everyone because he feels like he can't show his face as Ansem and because he thinks Sora is better off without him.
Sora, of course, puts these pieces together with Anna's story and makes the parallel connection between him and Anna, then Elsa and Riku in his head. I like how he says, "If anyone can help her, it's you," because I feel like that's him remembering his situation with Riku when he wanted to find him and that because of the reason for Riku's actions, only he could help.
And I think it's interesting that it's first Anna saying "I have to bring her home" and then Sora saying "I'm sure she knows now much you love her" for him to make these parallels. I think that implies that Sora gets that Elsa and Anna are siblings that love each other and he's thinking over what Riku means to him and even what he means to Riku.
Also Sora (in jap ver dialogue) realizing that maybe Riku pushed him away because he's someone precious to Riku is like...
My heart bro...
Ngl, so many times here I moved up the mountain fighting enemies and died that I'd go halfway up the mountain, then backtrack all the way back to the save so I wouldn't have to keep completely starting over every time I got oneshotted by an armored body. I did that multiple times for this area.
So, we get to the point where Sora finally reaches the top of the mountain again. For whatever reason I couldn't remember if it was like that before, but the Elsa freezing Anna's heart scene and it flashing between that and Sora, and then Sora holding a hand to his heart in pain right after we see the shot of Elsa putting ice into Anna's heart.
I think it's a parallel and Nomura's tryna tell us/foreshadow something
Okay, so big oof on the Marshmallow fight. I think on my proud run I got a bunch of times to use the team attack with the tree. I swear I only got to use it twice counted up from all my attempts on this run
The suckiest part was armored mode. I did a lot of trying to let Donald and Goofy do the work here cause I didn't wanna get oneshotted, but that didn't always quite work out... I eventually did it though, snd of course Sora, Donald, and Goofy are knocked off the mountain again
Idk how mant times I'm gonna keep saying this, but poor Sora. He's just so done and frustrated. "I could do this a hundred times."
And then Donald and Goofy both take him seriously 😂
"Please don't."
"Yeah, we should do it again!"
Awwww, Marshmallow. He just wanted to protect Elsa. I know that's what he was created to do, but that's still sweet
Sweet Sora boy making friends with anything that moves and we love him for it
Marshmallow made my life with enemies a little easier ngl
At the save point right before seeing Kristoff, I did some meteorite farming in gummi space and took a trip to the bistro. By this point I had excellents on all but 3 dishes because I didn't have the ingredients yet.
Also, by this point I was blessed with adorable remmy and Sora getting presents. Remmy got his own tiny present!
Tumblr media
And I'm sure you know this already, but like...I have a soriku obsession right now, so I enjoy making things into little personal Soriku references
Exhibit A: My gummi and Teeny Ships
They are both named after Yozora and contain the colors for Sora, Riku, and Yozora
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay, so back in Arendelle, Sora, Donald, and Goofy temporarily leave Marshmallow behind, and we come upon Kristoff and another Soriku parallel
Kristoff: "No, Sven! We're not going back. She's with her true love."
Riku: "You mean Kairi. To Sora, she's someone very special."
Sora: "Where'd Anna go?"
Kristoff: "She's back at home."
Sora: "Something happen?"
Kristoff: "Anna was struck in the heart by Elsa's ice magic. If the ice isn't removed, she'll freeze forever. Only an act of true love can thaw a frozen heart. So I took her back to Arendelle and to her true love, Hans."
Xion: "Do you know where Sora is now?"
Riku: "That secret stays with me."
Xion: "Why's that?"
Riku: "Xion...your memories...they really belong to Sora."
Xion: "So you mean...I'm like a part of him?"
Riku: "When his memories were scattered, some of them...found their way inside you. Now, Sora has been put to sleep so that we can piece together his memory."
Sora: "But...what about you?"
Kristoff: "What about me?"
Sora: "Uh, I sorta assumed you guys were..."
Kristoff: "Nooo! I just keep her from getting lost."
Xion: "So, do you hate me for taking your friend away from you?"
Riku: "Nah, I guess...I'm just sad.
Sora: "Really? Oh, but you seem so..."
Goofy: "Perfect together!"
Donald: "Yeah, like me and Daisy!"
So let's talk this over.
Point one, both assumptions on who the person in question's (Sora and Anna) true love/most important person is. This may have to do in part with some surface level stuff and Kristoff/Riku's anxiety that the person in question (Anna and Sora) probably doesn't like them like that.
Point two, the person in question has had something bad happen to them such as their memories being "erased" or their heart being frozen, needing some sort of action to save that person.
Point three, neither Riku nor Kristoff factor their feelings into the situation, Kristoff because he just feels the duty to save Anna and doesn't believe he is her true love, and Riku because he feels the duty to save Sora snd similarly does not believe himself to be Sora's special person (which didn't exactly factor in in Riku's case, but it's true he too pushed his feelings aside in all areas except saving Sora).
Point four, "I just keep [him] from getting lost" is totally something Riku or Sora would say about the other.
Point five, I added the last part because despite the insistence that Hans is Anna's true love, Sora, Donald, and Goofy agree that it seems Anna and Kristoff are perfect together, and it especially helps to know that on their side, they've seen that Anna and Kristoff work well together. They haven't seen her with Hans, and even in the movie, she and Hans don't get much screentime development. This is a parallel more to the soriku experience. On our side, we see Sora and Riku get a lot of screentime and development together, and it's clear that they care for each other. So when someone, even in game, insists that Kairi is most important to Sora, it feels like, "Oh, but Sora and Riku seem perfect together" and "But Kairi and Sora don't really get development like that or really much screentime together."
So, resuming the story (and the parallel), there's a gust of wind amd Kristoff looks towards Arendelle. He obviously feels something is wrong and says Anna's name before rushing off. I'm being completely honest, we've seen Riku too rush off, feeling that Sora's in danger. Prime example I remember though would be in the keyblade graveyard when Riku just gets a feeling and runs over to Sora, giving him a pep talk sorta just before everyone else gets swept up.
So, Marshmallow too, just like Kristoff, feels something is wrong, and gestures in the direction of Arendelle, saying Elsa's name, and the group is off to save Elsa and Anna.
And then, another parallel! Yes, Arendelle is Soriku parallel city over here!
Before Hans' sword reaches Elsa
Before the demon tide reaches Sora and Riku
Anna stands between the sword and Elsa
Riku stands between the demon tornado and Sora
Anna puts her right hand out to block the blow
Riku thrusts the keyblade in his right hand forward, directing the darkness around him and Sora into a tunnel
Anna completely turns to ice and saves Elsa, an act of true love
Riku attempts to save Sora at the expense of his own life, an act of true love, and is swallowed by the darkness
Anna gives one clear final breath
Riku gives one clear final breath
Elsa, alive due to her sister's act of true love, realizes the power of love and is able to save/unfreeze Anna
Sora's heart and body persist, arriving in the final world, his heart likely persisting due to Riku's act of true love, and his body due to Kairi, and he believes in himself and is able to go save Riku's heart
Just...ya know...food for thought...
And now, boss battle time! I believe I didn't have too much trouble on it when I dodged correctly. I beat it fine. One of my favorite shots I saw though was Sora using subzero impact with Ultima, but his clothes were the formchange color because I had just hit Ultima form right before. It was literally so epic!!
No, Marshmallow! You can't die this way! I need you to battle things for me-! Uh, I mean, you need to be alive because we care about you!
Just kidding Marshmallow! I love you and you're actually a nice snow giant with a big heart!
Cue Sora getting the example of the power of true love when Anna unfreezes.
THE PRETTY ANIMATION
Pretty animation Sora, I looooove you
Poor boy caring so much about everyone. He just wants to keep everyone safe.
And after Elsa gives another demonstration of the power of love, Arendelle is over.
