I think he is the "wise old teacher" archetype from every story, but with all of the wise old teacher's weaknesses and mistakes are rounded out and that is just. Infuriating. I re-read some stuff from book 2 and 3 and the guy is like, on and on and on about having not so much time, and then wastes away hours. Makes me think about what did Rider training look like – did the poor kids have like, a year of shutting themselves in the woods to live like monks?

Oromis feels like the French kings after the French Revolution. He had the chance to revise his teaching methods, but he didn't, and his greatest luck is that Eragon was his student.

I want y'all to put at least one reason of why you hate Oromis under this post.
