Tigera, your art is very beautiful and unique! I always recognise your style when I see it. Do you think you can provide some tips on developing such a unique style? I’ve been trying, but it is a struggle. Thank you, and I understand if you cannot !
Thank you very much!! Yes, somewhat. Ysee the thing is, I never focused on having a "style". I've always just tried to draw things i like as exact as possible. I also often study art I happen to see and I think is amazing is well done, which often makes me test new approaches in my art. I never really understood other artist obsession with "having my own style", you will always draw things that exist or have existed, from the world your brain can perceive and comprehend, or from other fictional works. Nothing is quite new, and that's great! Because it means you can stop stressing about being 100% unique. And perhaps you might come up with a cool concept that people haven't heard of before who knows. But that aint all. I didn't get to my level by just doing that and sitting down, I studied basic principles. These are the building blocks, the base concepts, that you can use to make your art: shapes, volumes, shading, color, composition, values, perspective, etc... If there's a word/concept in there you don't understand, RESEARCH IT RIGHT THE FUCK NOW. Be curious, observe things around you carefully. Pretend you are a fucking scientist in a lab and you have a bunch of cool liquids and you can mix them up with not much consequences, try things!! It's ok if you fail it, you'll be fine!! Also for studying said principles, here are some ressources:

I didn't get the luck of being able to attend an art school, so I'm self taught. We are EXTREMELY LUCKY to have a library of knowledge available to us at any time called the internet, USE IT.
So just have fun, I know social media nowadays makes it hard because of peer pressure and shit, but please, make art because you love making art and because you love whatever it is you are drawing!
TLDR: calm down, it'll come in time. I'm here right now because I kept drawing my pikachu plush when i was 6, and a buncha pokemons and Spyro and shit. You'll be fine! Good luck, have fun, and stay curious! OvO

ive already stated this in my ic posts before but my lore contains multiple dragon clans/villages across regions. mostly because pokemon lore can't really agree on where exactly the village of dragons is (manga says blackthorn, anime says unova with no specific city, games dont even name a region) and while my blogs follow spe lore mostly, dragons are such an important type of pokemon to unova (obviously) that i don't really see why they wouldn't have a dragon clan or village of their own. there's not a ton of lore on it no matter which media source you go to so im kinda assuming it's a sort of religious subsect that believes in honoring dragons (shocker), and while anyone who knows of their existence and follows their values is welcome to join, they can be particular about the people representing them and you can be excommunicated on a whim if you fuck up badly, the same way we see it with alder and ryuki and even iris
now i know what you're thinking. coldslaw how the actual fuck does mx ex terrorist lance get to stay in the clan while 2 children and guy who has never committed terrorism get kicked
for the most part it's a matter of devotion to the dragons. lance, for all their misgivings, is EXTREMELY devoted to dragons. kinda goes without saying. he's basically dragonites #1 ambassador. and while alder absolutely loves dragons as well, we all know that he doesn't have a dragon type as his favorite pokemon. nor is it his favorite type for that matter. lance acted stupidly, but not only was it widely swept under the rug and therefore doesn't reflect badly on the clan, but also there's the whole aforementioned devotion to dragons
alder, meanwhile, was never wholly dedicated to their beliefs. so he's already not entirely important to the clan, and then it comes out that he was getting all cuddled up to ghetsis?
we don't know yet just exactly what ghetsis did to upset them so much. but given ghetsis's history (and future) with dragons, you can probably make your own guesses as to what they came to know or assume about him
and then iris. she wasn't actually entirely excommunicated. her situation's sorta tricky. obviously her dedication to dragons is there, so they didn't want to fully shut her out or anything, but they got sick of her hyperactivity and mischief and instead of trying to find the root cause and supporting her they settled for basically dumping her in the care of the most hardass guy within their community they could think of (drayden) and hoped that would straighten her out
except drayden, already thoroughly in the process of his disillusionment with the clan (since he's dating ALDER), having seen what it's leaders are willing to do to their followers and now bearing witness to this little girl being given up by her family for the crime of being childish (while still in the single digits of age), comes to understand iris and finds himself distancing from the clan and villages as well. "i'll return iris to you in a year's time" becomes two years. three. five. ten. until, completely unspoken, iris's parents disappear from her life and drayden takes full custody. seeing her success and what her championship does for the perception of dragons, the clan yearns for her return and has tried to beckon her and drayden back, but she has no interest even if she does share beliefs with them about the sacredness of dragons
i haven't fully decided whether iris hails from the johtonian clan or the unovan one, but drayden was for sure a part of the unovan one. alder and lance and clair (hi clair this is probably the first and last time ill mention you sorry queen) belong(ed) to the johtonian clan

And yet it isn't plagiarism.
So because I didn't eat the guy I stabbed to death, I'm innocent?
We all fucking cheered on Yathzee for years railing against cookie-cutter shooters and open world crafting games; laughed at developers like Digital Homicide for their blatant theft and lack of effort and decried games for being derivative but the moment it's about a target people think is acceptable suddenly all those morals and considerations get tossed out a window?
Do you not think that's completely fucked?
The point of Palworld was to make a game that actually delivered on Gamefreak's promises, an open world game, that is immersive and fun, and has Pokémon, and they succeeded;
So you just admitted that Palworld is not its own distinct entity. That its entire premise is basically just 'pander to Pokemon bitchers'. That it basically DID steal Pokemon (as you CALL THEM Pokemon). What exactly about this is supposed to be convincing?
You know, you don't have to know a thing about Star Wars to like Spaceballs. The winnebago starship is still funny without knowing it's a joke about Han being a space trucker. Barf is still visually distinct from Chewbacca. Dot Matrix is still a separate entity from C-3PO. Dark Helmet's line about being Lone Starr's father's mother's sister's cousin's former roommate is still funny without knowing the iconic Star Wars line.
I didn't know we stopped asking for Spaceballs and were praising Scary Movie now.
Nioh has a very similar playstyle to Bloodborne and was heavily inspired by Demon's Souls, and yes, it was more creative in its implementation, though only in its aesthetics, this however does not negate the critique presented above of the response to the game.
By your own admission- it does.
See, you haven't actually made any arguments against the plagiarism, given any examples or even tried addressing it so you kind of implied I was right.
The funniest part of all of this, is the response by not just the Nintendo company and Gamefreak, but the religiously zealous Pokémon stans, who have been foaming at the mouth nearly as much as when they came into contact back in the early 2000s with the Digimon IP.
'See! See! I played some memes and brought up an irrelevant argument and called my opponent a stinky doodoo head!'
You know how I know this is true?
You try bringing up 'Nintendo and Game Freak's response' but their response to it is- 'it exists. No comment.'
You act like they're throwing some tantrum when nothing has been said. You're so attached to this idea of 'fuck Game Freak' that you're either convinced the stock standard PR 'neutral' answer is something or you feel the need to drum it up as something. Otherwise you wouldn't have brought them up.
You also try to connect me to those 'religiously zealous' stans even though A. I actually praised at least two of Palworld's designs as inspiration done right with Pokemon (Penking and Tocotoco) B. I don't approve of the death threats which are stupid and C. I was no older than 6. I might not have even PLAYED a Pokemon game there.
I'm just continuing the standards people set. Not my fault I won't abandon them for short sighted gain.
Can't even imagine how the owners of the Digimon IP feel knowing they could have made Palworld at any time and made bank.
Why didn't you bank them then? Digimon Survive has been out for around a year and a half and yet has sold a fraction of what Palworld has. As you said, Digimon has guns in it too. ... And also likely better overall writing than Pokemon.
Yokai Watch released its last game in 2019. It has a bright chibi arstyle, though excusable for being Asia exclusive.
Cassette Beasts was released last year and has a pretty good diagetic UI and some cool Digimon-inspired designs with a more unique weakness system.
Shin Megami Tensei released its landmark fifth mainline game back in 2021, a series with harder gameplay, harsher themes of order vs. chaos, stability vs. freedom, the ugliness of humanity and how people lose themselves to power which are all integrated into gameplay and aesthetics just as well.
You stand here instead choosing to support a game with designs bordering on plagiarism, a game by your own implication has no real indentity of its own, just to be spiteful towards a company rather than supporting the closer competitors that would undercut Pokemon more anyway.
Can't even imagine how the owners of the Digimon IP feel knowing they could have made Palworld at any time and made bank.
Probably happy and secure, knowing they cultivated a loyal and dedicated fanbase based around their own merits, through their own efforts and with their own ideas. All without being dependent on their competitor.

Congratulations on finishing Pizza Parlor and getting 1000 likes!!! ლ(^o^ლ) I discovered Pizza Parlor pretty early on and I wrote my first message that same night. I was really giddy after reading the first few chapters and I'm glad that I discovered this gem of a story. This story will definitely stay with me for a long time. =) I'm sure this is the beginning of many more milestones to come. <3
Sorry for randomly disappearing for a bit, life got real hectic this week, but I'm back now! Also also, this is the 10th sheep anon message! We're in the double digits now! =D I have a whole doc on just drafts of messages on it and bits and pieces of things that I want to write about. The only reason why I haven't included them yet is because these messages would look more like a novel. Apparently, the total word count for all the sheep anon messages excluding this one is 2.8k! Which is crazy because it's like the same length as one of your chapters and I am 100% not a fanfic writer.
Anyways, to answer your question, I don't have a specific TV show because I didn't grow up on cable. Instead, I watched episodes out of order and understood nothing of the plot. I do, however, have many cringy memories of running around on the school playground pretending to be a Pokemon trainer and having imaginary Pokemon fights. Real embarrassing. Another TV show that really stood out was Thomas the Train because my brother was terrified of it. I think it's the uncanny valley of the trains' faces that freaked him out. As the younger sister, I just followed in his footsteps and ran away whenever it played on the TV. I actually don't know the plot of the show at all. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I don't think I became really obsessed with anything until middle school where I tried to convince my friends into watching Fruits Basket. Kinda embarrassing considering they were not into anime... I'm going to end my ramble here before it gets too long. Have a nice day/night everyone and stay cool or warm depending on where you are! Virtual hugs!

p.s. I haven't asked you a question in a while, what is your favorite Ghibli film? I didn't actually grow up watching movies, so I started by watching Spirited Away in 2020. The last movie I watched was Ride Your Wave and I had to pause halfway through to take a cry break. Like half of my interests in have made me cry, lol. Do you have any recommendations?
Hello sheepie! I am so very happy that you enjoyed Pizza Parlor! It means the world to me that people enjoyed it so much! I am also very glad that my story head enough of an impact to stay with you!
I am sorry about life getting a little crazy on your end! I hope it is getting better day by day! Wow! The 10th sheep anon message! I consider it a privilege to hear from you!! Thank you for taking time out of your day to write to my blog! It makes me feel special!
I absolutely adore Fruits Basket, I also relate to being that odd kid that shows their friends anime! That was me all throughout middle school. I absolutely loved getting lost in fictional worlds, I still do! Also LOL the thomas the train!!
My favorite ghibli film is between From Up on Poppy Hill or Howl's Moving Castle. I am a sucker for a good soundtrack and both of them have a fantastic one! I have seen Ride Your Wave! That movie killed me! I loved it though, I thought the animation was beautiful. When it comes to animated movies in that genre I recommend a couple of them. Obviously, my favorite ghibli films, however I can also recommend a couple other animated movies.
I really enjoyed Weathering with You. I saw it in theatres in 2019 and I went on a date. I used to loathe the movie due to the fact I saw it on a date with a horrible person, however, stays got to watch it with Chan a couple months ago so my perspective has changed a lot about it.
I also really enjoyed The Secret World of Arrietty. I used to watch it with my parents when I was a little girl.
I could list way more animated movies but I tried to keep it in the same type of animation, I could go on for years about my favorite animated movies as a whole lol
This will conclude my message my dear sheepie. I cannot wait to hear from you again! I hope you have a fantastic day/week! <3
