#I haven't heard the word façade spoken that many times in a 22-minute sitting since the last Mother 3 LP I watched

Another new anime I started this week: Yuri Is My Job!

(probably better known as "Façade: The Anime", lmao)

The best way to sum up this show is that there are a bunch of girls working at a themed cafe where everyone is playing the role of a schoolgirl in a Shoujo/Yuri manga. The reality is that everyone's relationship outside of their "sisterly" characters is very different, and everyone must put on a façade to keep the customers (who are apparently hyper-invested in the story the cafe is creating) entertained and paying to see more.

The whole thing seems like it's wrapped in several layers of irony and trope deconstruction (almost like the anime itself is putting on a façade!), so I have a feeling I know how this series will turn out, unfortunately. Nonetheless, I am curious to see where it will go, as the premise has some good potential for comedy and I like the visual gags for the main character's inner thoughts. Also yes, I'm still a sucker for schoolgirl romance stories, bite me.

Anyway, here's hoping this anime hits me better than the last façade-laden anime I tried watching! (The Eminence In Shadow) If it goes well, I'm sure you'll see more posts from me anyway!
