Sometimes I find a YouTube video recommended to me and I'll like the idea of it but something will bother me, but it feels wrong to really hate the video for it. In this scenario, the video was about the infantilization of women. And like nothing said was really wrong but it just felt odd to make it a woman issue, the things mentioned. Things like people using phrases like adulting because it's a digestible way for millennials (in this case that's what she was referring to and the studies she references uses) to approach being an adult because things like finances and milestones are harder to hit now.
This lines up. I fully do think that the growing lack of ownership and wages not reflecting the growing price of living has caused a phenomena like this, but I kept considering how this isn't just a woman issue. If this is happening it's affecting literally every young adult - adult alive in the west right now. But like the premise and title is about women so who am I to be bugged by it.
Y'know? It isn't like the YouTuber is really obligated to talk about men going through similar mindsets.
#i also didnt finish the video I got most of the way through and I sorta got sick of asking to myself#“yeah I wonder how men are handling these things”#but knowing it would likely not be addressed because the video is about women and again that isnt wrong#I guess I'm just more interested in less targeted philosophy discussions#because I just don't really gain anything from only observing how one group is reacting to events#i like a full scope#if I know how others are handling a situation I think I might be more helpful and understanding

Before I fell asleep last night, I had a wonderful time imagining Izuku verbally tearing Stain to shreds like the clown he is. It was in fact Canary Izuku to be more specific, and it kinda began along the lines of "You consider me a fake hero because I went on a radio shoot a few times? It was literally said at the very beginning that my quirk appeared recently and I needed help with confidence! You work underground! You know how quirkless are treated! You should know why I need confidence!" 1/?
And basically it went on with Canary listing some of the people Stain hurt, and more or less being like, "where's your proof?? Iida is a grieving child that is trying to cope with the fact you hurt the person he loved and looked up to. In addition, you took out the main responding hero in this area! You dumbass! Ingenium literally is one of the fastest heroes here! You've condemned so many people to death!" And so on. Even talked about Native a little. It was glorious.
Canary is an excellent fic and Stain deserves to be called out on his bullshit.
I was replaying Hitman's Colorado level recently and there's a discussion between some of the enemy guards about one of your targets, who note that their boss is an idealist in the sense that, quote, "he yearns for a cause, but any cause will do because deep down he just wants an excuse to blow people up." And I'm sure you can guess why I bring this up in the context of Stain.
None of Stain's reasons matter because they don't matter to him. All he cares about is getting to kill people. He makes up reasons to justify it to himself but the truth is he would kill All Might himself if he could.
I find it interesting that Stain believes that only The Number One Hero is a true Hero while also saying things like "The weaker of us will be culled." Stain's real philosophy is only three words: Might Makes Right. If he can kill a Hero, he will, because he's stronger, and that's all that matters. Like what he said about Tenya and Tensi being weak because they're fakes.
Stain worships All Might because All Might is the strongest.
