my toxic trait is that I hate corsets and every time I see people moral panic about how "hm actually if you wear them correctly they are not bad 🙄" I get pissed off lmao

if a bunch of actresses hate wearing corsets in the set of bridgerton, and really it makes no difference for a general audience whether or not they wear corsets, you have two options: 1- don't put the actresses who hate wearing them in them, cause they're apparently not able to guarantee proper corseting 2- yell online about how it's their fault for not "doing it right" and tell them their feelings are wrong and you're the boss of how they feel about their bodies

#shut up about corsetting. it pisses me off to hell and back. people are all about work conditions and stuff but when its actors #in period dramas its 'ignore the actors feelings #and they should be in pain if that means a slightly more period accurate outfit for me the main character of the universe #also this is from personal experience btw. wearing a corset-like garment every day for back support at work #gave me horrible cramps some days #and I only wore them 4 hours at a time and I opened it up when it got too much #just imagine! an actor in a constricting garment who has their diaphragm trapped from expanding #in a long ass shoot day #and oh yeah sitting down can be annoying as fuck cause the corset pressures your thighs #circulation in your legs can be hurt by this #I'm tired of people gaslighting actresses is all. corsets are Not easy breezy to wear #and they're completely unnecessary in a modern day set. just dont need them #I feel really strongly about this cause I'm a person who can't wear corsets without having horrible cramps #and this is not an uncommon feeling #just don't need them! don't need corsets don't need real guns and also don't need miserable actors on set
