Honestly I think one of the biggest reasons I wouldn't want to try and publish through like a Company or whatever is because my series is so unabashedly Queer and I don't want any forces to try and tell me to "dial it back" or "make it less obvious" or whatever
#Jean mumbles#Celestial Stones is going to take me YEARS to finish#I know this and have accepted it#But whenever I do finish it - I want it to remain as true to the characters and my visions as possible you know?#And that just so happens to involve a lot of queer stuff#One of the characters is aroace and it puts tension one a blooming friendship of his#One of the characters has moments of flustered gayness because dammit why do they have to be so CUTE#1-2 of the cast characters uses neopronouns#All of them have some gender fuckery going on#And that's because that's how the characters are#I don't want to risk the messiness of their queerness being sanitized or tidied up in any way possible#There probably are some companies out there who are fine with that stuff#But if I ever was given an editor who then tried to dictate how I should portray my queer characters#''For the sake of any unprepared readers'' or whatever#I'd be like no <33#Like we live in a world right now where so many queer shows are being cancelled for being ''too challenging'' or whatever#I'm not going to spend all this time writing five books in a fantasy world with furries and what not just to be told#That one of the characters being a ''bi lesbian'' is too controversial or whatever#I'm just rambling but if you made it this far thanks :}
