Following the awesome anon that requested innocent s/o and Javi- how would he behave with being someone’s first everything? Not necessarily nsfw, but soft and fluffy like first appearance (how they met maybe) first exchanges or dates, or first kisses, especially if the s/o is a bit awkward? 🙏🏼

Their first meeting: They met in the general store in Valentine. He came in looking to pick up some tobacco and some carrots for Boaz. He saw them as soon as he walked in; their hands resting on the counter as they look through the catalogue. They ask the shopkeeper for a bottle or horse medicine and he sets the bottle on the counter as they look through their coin purse. They’re 3 cents short and Javier eavesdrops from the corner of the store as they explain to the shopkeeper that their horse is sick and won’t make it if they don’t get it some medicine. The shopkeeper refuses and they get incredibly flustered and upset, but they agree to leave without their medicine and settle for buying a carrot for the horse instead. The shopkeeper bows out for a minute, leaving through the back door to check on something or other, and whilst he’s gone, Javier takes the opportunity to slip behind the counter and help himself to what’s in the register. He raises his finger to his lips to shush them as he cleans the register out and before they leave the store, he calls out to them to wait. They stop and turn to him and he grabs a bottle of horse medicine from the shelf behind him and places it on the counter in front of him. “For you. It’s on the house,” he says. He gives them a wink and they smile sweetly as they take the bottle of medicine. “I hope your horse makes it,” he smiles.

Their first date: Javier saw them around Valentine 3 more times after the general store meeting and on the 4th time, he asked them if they wanted to come and drink with him in the saloon. They explained to him that small town saloons aren’t really their scene as they’re not suited to rowdy places, but he persuaded them to try it out. They spent most of the night drinking quietly and chatting away at a table in the corner of the saloon until a bar fight broke out and they got spooked. Javier got them out just in time for the pianist to get a face full of piano keys and he chuckled away as he watched the commotion rage on from outside the saloon door. His love interest watched as his eyes lit up at the sight of all the fighting and they cracked a smile too as they approached him and stood side-by-side with him for a while, watching the ruckus unfold until they decided that was a good sign that they should head home. Javier accompanied them and their horse home with Boaz.

First kiss: They’ve been seeing each other every now and then for a few weeks now, and although he appears to be holding a lot of things back of and is definitely a little rough around the edges, they both get on very well and are comfortable in each other’s company. He takes them out to the theatre - the first time they’ve seen a variety show - and he puts on some of the moves. He slides his arms around them and as they’re both getting a little bored of the current act, he takes the opportunity to lean in and kiss them. It’s awkward and they’re not great at kissing, but he finds it kind of endearing. After the show, he walks them home again and they invite him into their house for a cup of tea and a chat. He happily accepts the offer and hitches Boaz outside while they have a great time sitting in front of their fire place and talking about the world and all it’s faults.
