          The sound reverberates through the whole area, even though the action itself is rather quiet.

          Chara is playing THEIR VIOLIN.

          It’s a tune that would read as simple to any professional violinist, but the technique is impressive for a child.   And given that it’s an original song, a warmup, composed by a ten-year-old, it really is not bad.

          Most of the time, they feel as if they’re not nearly as creative as the rest of their family.   Asriel has the most creative mind out of them all, and Frisk knows how to think outside the box.   Chara, on the other hand ... doesn’t have the capacity for those things.   They can copy a picture, play a piece of music, knit a perfect scarf by following a pattern, but their IMAGINATION, as it were, feels quite stunted for a kid.

          That’s why they like their violin ... and that’s why they don’t play it every day.

          This is easier.   When they run their bow over the strings, its body propped up under their chin, it’s as if they can feel that creativity that typically escapes them pulsing through their body.   It’s both empowering, and terrifying to them.

          Today, though, they’ve let it TAKE CONTROL.   The result is, yes, a simple piece of music ; but as simple as it is, it’s equally a beautiful experience to watch them play it.

          Their constant smile is present.   And yet ... their expression is softer.   The hate they have for the rest of humanity seems to vanish, a million years away from them.   This look on their face is very mature, and they appear almost peaceful.

          It’s kind of like watching a FLOWER BLOOM after you weren’t sure the bud would open.
