another practice painting based on a wip I'm procrastinating on
#the lighting could've been better ngl#the texture of the gold makes it feel rather stiff and I need to keep Airis size more in mind for when it comes to buildings....#the floor is nice enough though? and the colors from the wip are still really neat#oh yeah the wip in itself is really deep in limbo. I likely have to completely rework it which is a bummer but alas#I don't really want to tag this for the prsk fandom... but then again this is the spamposting my favorite blorbo website#and airi is there so legally speaking this requires a prsk tag#art#my art#project sekai#prsk#wings of fire#wof#prsk wof au#airi momoi

I don't like comment reblogs but tags will be too bothersome so fine. PRSK yuri warrior that has not written anything in several months due to circumstances.
-I need to make numbers go up in certain tags that are mostly polluted by stuff focused on OTHER characters. And I also need to make numbers go up in some ship tags like HonaSaki but I'll cross that bridge later.
-I got "Hoshino Ichika has DID" canonized and NO ONE could strike me down after that. Sure, I deleted my account so now it looks like someone else pioneered those fics and not me, but trust me I started that and was elated when the tag got canonized.
-The only demons that are out to get me are... me. I'm really gunning for writing some stuff. Largely so that I can read it myself and also so that I can maybe get attention and be revered as one of the fandom's best writers (will not happen)
-I tend to take 5d8 psychic damage every time I think about Leoni but oftentimes I am taking the psychic damage from real-life circumstances and I just need an outlet for that stuff.
-I walk out of most of everything I put genuine effort into thinking "best thing I've ever written. Read it if you so wish" I guess.
-No one else is ever writing the topics I want to see. Truly a travesty indeed. But much worse is that sometimes people do write these topics except the fic is about a certain blond man and usually also about his romance with a certain purple man. If you're feeling feisty it can be about a certain ginger man and his romance with a certain half-tone haired man. Either way the point is I want to read about women and everyone wants to write about men, so I have to do it myself. And I want to read about Leoni/MMJ but everyone writes about Niigo the few times they choose to write about women. So. Again. I have to do it myself, and that's fine, since I'm sure I'm better-suited for the task anyway.

A Song Played By The Stars
Characters: Mizuki Akiyama & Mizuki Akiyama's Sister (OC)
Fandom: Project Sekai Colourful Stage, ft. Hatsune Miku
Synopsis: Little Mizuki has a nightmare where they can't find their sister at all.
Tags/warnings: Vague descriptions of panic attacks and nightmares
Notes: A few things,
This is based on the PRSK D&D campaign I'm in
Mizuki's sister is basically an OC
Their sister's name is blanked out cus I'm also sending this to the D&D server and I don't want to reveal it just yet
The song they sing is "A Song Played By The Stars" from Steins;Gate. It's really good and I highly recommend listening to it! Here's a link!
I was gonna make their sister's nickname for them "dragonfly" but I decided against it at the last minute lol. They have two nicknames, one just being "little star" and the other being "'Ki" (a shortened version of Mizuki, cus in the etymology of their name the "ki" means "hope" which I thought was fitting)

No...
Wait...
Don’t go...!
Don’t go!
Please!

Mizuki jerked up right with a soft sob, their hand flying up to hold their chest as they breathed heavily. They took a few shaky breaths before looking around the room. It was dark, the only light coming from a flickering candle that was very close to burning out. They frowned, tears growing in their eyes, and they quietly got out of bed.
The small child peeked out of their room, looking down the hall. More darkness. The more darkness they saw, the more the fear and panick built up in their chest. It felt so hard to breathe, almost as if they were suffocating. A small sob escaped from them as they stared into the darkness of the house.
“█...██████?” Mizuki softly called out into the house.
No reply.
“██████?” they called again.
Still, no reply.
They started to grow frantic. Where was she? Had something happened? Mizuki could barely control their breathing as they started panicking. Tears welled up in their eyes faster than before, streaming down their cheeks as they ran out of their room to stare down the hall again.
“██████!”
“Mizuki?”
Mizuki spun around to see their sister standing behind them, looking confused and rubbing her eyes. With a sob, Mizuki ran forward to give her a tight hug. She seemed confused still, before gently lowering her arms to hug Mizuki back.
“What’s wrong?” she asked comfortingly, running her hand through Mizuki’s hair. “Ah... did you have another nightmare again, little star?” Mizuki simply nodded, tightly gripping their sister as if she might just disappear. Their sister hummed in response.
They stayed like that for what seemed like forever. Standing in the dark, hugging. Mizuki’s sister comfortingly ran her hands through Mizuki’s hair, humming some song Mizuki hadn’t heard before. Eventually, Mizuki calmed down enough to lean back and wipe their tears.
“Do you want to talk about it?” their sister asked softly.
“Y-yeah.” Mizuki wiped their tears again. “I...” They gave a small sob. “I dreamed... you were gone... I couldn’t find you anywhere!”
“Oh, little star,” their sister said sympathetically, lightly patting their head. “I’d never leave you. I’ll always be here for you.”
“B-b-but... it was dark and...” Mizuki sniffled. “I couldn’t... no matter what... I called your name... you wouldn’t come... you weren’t there...!”
“It’s okay,” their sister said comfortingly, hugging them again and patting their head again. “It was just a nightmare, ‘Ki.”
Mizuki didn’t say anything.
“I’ll never leave,” their sister said. “No matter what happens, I’ll be here for you, okay? We’re siblings. I’ll never let you travel this world alone...”
“...I know...” Mizuki said softly. “But... it’s scary... to think that...” They trailed off into another sob.
“Little star... I know it’s scary.” Mizuki looked up at their sister as she lighty wiped away their fresh tears. “The world can be a scary place... But as long as we’re together, it won’t be as scary. I’ll always protect you, alright? No matter what happens, I’ll be here to keep you safe.”
“...Okay...” Mizuki sniffled again. “Okay...”
Once more, they grew silent, simply holding each other for what seemed like an eternity. Slowly, Mizuki’s sniffles came to a stop, and they didn’t feel tears running down their cheeks anymore. They leaned away from their sister again.
“Feeling better?” their sister asked.
Mizuki nodded. “...Hey, ██████?”
“Yes?”
“Can you... sing me that song?”
“Which one?”
“The one... about the stars.”
“Hmm.” Their sister hummed a confirmation. “Let’s get you tucked back into bed first, okay, ‘Ki?”
“Okay.”
Their sister took their hand and walked them back to their room. Tucking them into bed, she sat on the edge of the bed, holding one of their hands in her own. The other ran through Mizuki’s hair again as she gave them a comforting smile before beginning to sing.
“Searching for just one little thing,
The laughter hiding in the stars.
Shining like oceans in the wind,
You can grab it if you reach out your hand.”
That was all Mizuki heard before they fell asleep.
-
“Searching for just one little thing...”
Mizuki leaned against the windowsill of their room.
“The laughter hiding in the stars...”
They stared out towards the stars with a small frown.
“Shining like oceans in the wind...”
A tear ran down their cheek.
“You can grab it if you reach out your hand...”
A hand moved up. Mizuki reached out towards the stars.
“...I thought you said you’d never leave...”
