#I didn't have the patience to do the prior quests because I was struggling with the combat :-)

OKAY FALLOUT 2 IS GOOD. But it takes A LOT OF TIME TO BE GOOD.
I went to Navarro at level 4. It is INSANELY HARD. You need to savescum a lot to avoid the Enclave soldiers encounters, even tho you successfully fooled the Envlaves in Navarro.
And my bad luck oh!!!!!! I DIDN'T PICK UP THE VERTIBIRD PLANE. I PICKED UP K-9 CANISTER INSTEAD. So I had to savescum. Again.
Keep in mind that I DID NOT GET THE HIGHWAYMAN BECAUSE I DIDN'T KNOW IT ACTUALLY DECREASE THE AMOUNT OF RANDOM ENCOUNTERS. My adventure on the south is HELL.
However, once you get the Brotherhood base and got their armor it became easy!! Okay it's easy WHEN YOU RETURNED TO THE NORTH. Remember: I DON'T HAVE A CAR!!!! It was HELL reaching there. I had to go to Broken Hills to get to Gecko by caravan. Then I was ambushed by raiders. Thankfully we won and I got a LOT of loot!!! I'm rich!!! And they barely scratched me because of my power armor :-)
Back and forth to get the fucking car... Had to go to Redding to get the $2000 needed for the car. After that? Smooth sailing. Holy shit. I feel like I am unstoppable.
I am avoiding New Reno however because they will steal my car and I'm gonna park my car on NCR then go to New Reno to do quests. Phew. This one is still a plan hope it works.
My weapon rn is a sniper rifle with level 2 ranged damage perk. It is GOOD. You can get 95% chance in a distance. Got it from a lucky encounter... Bless! I have 105% small gun
Btw I regret tagging Lockpick. It's extremely useful in Fallout 1 but Outdoorsman is way WAY more important because it affects random encounter. In Fallout 1 you want random encounters to get good weapons (see Alien Blaster). In Fallout 2 random encounters are tedious. Get it as high as possible, I am currently at 30% sadly :( Steal and Sneak is really good too, anything but Lockpick imho
