I have seen the lost kin is esmy theory, and while it's not my personal headcanon it is a really interesting idea! I kinda like it!

(And thus all the Nailmasters. Sly's their grandad!)#Actually we are currently in the middle of plotting out the third arc/season of the series#and there is an episode about Kin's fear of being abandoned by Mato if they choose not to become Nailmasters.#(Kin wants to be a healer.)#(this is a very irrational trauma based fear.
