#I couldn't think of a non-clansman for the Blue side who would care so have a trainee

So, I've been thinking about SaruMi. What if they reconciled, but nobody really knew and one day they were fighting but it was more flirtatious to them but the others saw it as their regular fighting but then someone (not in either of their clans) decided to try to fight one of them (Misaki) and the other (Saruhiko) got very protective of them? (and vice-versa)

Everyone is so used to their normal fighting being full of sexual tension that when they’re actually flirting it doesn’t look different enough that anyone can tell. Imagine post-ROK they’ve reconciled and started dating but they’re keeping it low key for now, like the main members of S4 and Homra and their respective alphabet squads know but no one else does. Even though they’re dating this doesn’t stop them from the usual arguing and occasional fight whenever someone gets in the other’s way. One day Fushimi is handling a Strain issue with some of the S4 new recruits when Yata shows up because Homra was also going after the same Strain. They start arguing and Yata’s all listen you asshole don’t make me beat you up, Fushimi grins all bring it on Misaki I’ll have you begging for me to stop. 

Yata laughs and moves like he’s going to tackle Fushimi (which was actually intended as his ‘subtle’ way of being unable to keep his hands off Fushimi) when he’s suddenly knocked away by one of the S4 new recruits. This is one of the Strains who decided to join S4 and maybe Fushimi once helped them out too before they joined, they were so excited to be patrolling with him today only to see him get ‘attacked’ by a Homra member. The S4 recruit tries to ask if Fushimi’s okay but they’re already being pushed away as Fushimi goes to check on Yata. The recruit nervously asks if Fushimi’s okay and Fushimi clicks his tongue, coldly telling the recruit to go back to the vans. The poor recruit is all confused, like they were just trying to help, and Fushimi again snaps at them to get back to the vans and start writing their report. (Later on the rest of the recruits join them and mention how Fushimi-san was very vigorously checking Homra’s Yatagarasu for injuries and the recruit wonders if they missed something after all.)

Another day imagine they end up fighting kinda near Yata’s workplace. Fushimi is on official business again and Yata’s annoyed with him for always interrupting wherever Yata works, like couldn’t you have gotten this guy away from my work because the Strain messed up the delivery Yata was carrying for the shop. Fushimi blithely says that S4 will  reimburse him and Yata’s like that doesn’t help, Fushimi smirks and wonders if Yata’s going to punish him for it. Yata’s like grabbed Fushimi by the collar and Fushimi moves in very close, one hand slipping under Yata’s shirt, when he’s suddenly pulled away by someone. Yata stares blankly as one of his coworkers tells him to run, he saw this guy had a knife and it looked like he was going for under Yata’s shirt. Yata’s all ‘um…about that…’ when he notices that Fushimi got thrown pretty roughly and is nursing a bruise on his arm. Yata runs right past his concerned coworker, immediately fussing over Fushimi like how do you not know how to catch yourself when someone grabs you like that. Fushimi clicks his tongue and mutters that he was distracted, Yata sighs like yeah I’ll bet. Fushimi is being all needy wanting Yata to take care of his bruise while Yata acts all exasperated but fond and meanwhile his coworker is just staring at them blankly like um do you guys need some privacy or…?.
