Harris Roberts Logo Design Challenge - 1
Which option do you choose?
Hello people. I am starting this new series of posts involving tasks from the "Harris Roberts Logo Design Challenge."
The aim of these posts will be to: โ๏ธ Improve my design skills. ๐ Get enough visibility for my account. ๐ Get a job or a freelance project.
The idea came after looking at the posts from Mr. Keshav Grover, Mr. Rishabh Jain, Mr. Onkar Mehta, and Ms. Nisha Droch.
Let's get to the topic.
Today's post is about Challenge 1, where I was asked to design a "Rocketship Logo." Among the four available names for the logo, such as aerolite, axis, comet, and quasar; I chose to work with aerolite.
The softwares used are Inkscape and Figma.

Translation: God of Gods, Shri Sainath, guide me on the path of life. Remove the darkness from my mind and give me confidence and strength
O Lord, grant me strength to live the strenuous life, To face challenges with courage and embrace the fight. Help me to be a man of action, not of idle ease, To seek adventure and strive for greatness, if you please.
Instill in me a deep sense of civic duty, To serve my community and my country truly. Guide me to be a leader, just and bold, To stand for what is right, as stories of old.
Fill my heart with honesty and integrity, Let my word be my bond, for all eternity. Grant me the moral compass to choose the righteous way, And the courage to speak truth, come what may.
Build within me physical vigor and resilience, To overcome obstacles and meet each challenge with brilliance. Let me not shy away from hardship or pain, But emerge stronger, through sunshine and rain.
Remind me, Lord, that this life is a gift, A chance to strive, to learn, to uplift. Help me to use my talents, every single one, To leave the world a better place when day is done.
Amen.

Religion
Me as a person, i like to say i am human, because if you would consider me as part of any other religion. I would not be sleeping in peace, for i will ponder again and again.
Why is there God but humans seems to keep fighting?
I like to consider myself as a half cast of any religion, personally, i feel that the one that provides is god under any language jurisdiction, although I love them all. Infinite blessings.
Where there was a time of medieval days of people were deliberately killing one another, to today we like to talk about one another just to be on top of one another.
Self esteem is a very unique trait to have but the influence people create at religious gatherings such of all or many kind tends to hinder a subject relating to society by ones that are not present.
It is sad, how hindrance still occur even though when we were trying to manipulate gravity or live on mars to a time where we need guidance to gain proper financial control for our families.
They say you will find good women in libraries and good men at religious events. I regret to inform you that both sometimes are there for different reasons.
Where one might be looking for a smart nerd and the other for a decent wife.
Regardless of any connection, whatever goes around comes back around, Karma and Dharma. Helping someone may make you feel great, and also make the person happy. Thus your Karma will return, if you keep doing your good work, your Dharma will unfold. Whatever abilities you may have are in your stomach, what energy you consist in your Chakra, all of this what i have just said are the way of Meditation of the Hindu tradition.
It is the same with any law of any religion really, but at the end of the day, regardless of what history there was, you are still walking, so you are writing your own. So in the end, for me, God is one, whereas in Punjabi it is recited Ik Onkar - There is only one God, god is one.
Muslims are very strict with their diversity and common laws, they are the ones that you could say pray the most in a week, maybe even fast for a whole month, from dawn to dusk, They cannot even eat or drink their saliva if they are fasting. They are the most righteous and smartest too. They know every makeshift known to any poverty justice.
Christianity is being guided by commandments that are pretty straightforward, do good to yourself, do good to others, respect others, respect your wife, provide, forgive and forget. Congregations are made just of that so people remain good-hearted.
China is different, they have not made many movies to be released on Netflix yet, I shall explain later.....
At the end of the day friends, God is one, let's start loving one another.
Just imagine if the whole world was part of one religion, imagine a world like that.
Now that is a different kind of god right :) its 2023 :)

๐บ with the occasion of graduating from my master's, taking a trip down memory lane to revisit the dearest pieces i worked on during my MA, namely "Feminine Dimensions of โGodโ: The Deification of Mahฤbhฤratamโs Tragic Heroineโ, โThe Western Revival of Goddess Worshipโ & "The Question of Religious Violence in the Mahฤbhฤrataโ. ๐บ my first paper explored the richness of the non-dual concept of โGodโ by addressing the intricate worship of Draupadฤซ, the Mahฤbhฤrataโs enigmatic female character โ whose tragic and distinct storyline establishes her as a multifaceted heroine: a devoted wife; a caring mother; an abused and vindictive woman; a polyandrous empress; an avatฤra of the Goddess; the Supreme Parฤลakti, the all-pervading absolute reality herself; the celestial ลrฤซ. i argued that, through the worship of an abused & vengeful woman, her devotees are deifying the entirety of the human experience. this piece has been my heart and soul, as my love for the fireborn Yฤjรฑasenฤซ Draupadฤซ knows no bounds. โฅ๏ธ ๐บ my second essay employed a discourse rooted in psychoanalysis, and was centred on the therapeutic values Goddess archetypes hold for the traumatised female psyche + commented on the ramifications of the phenomenon of religious revival in a secular age. ๐บ my third paper deconstructed the hypothesis of the existence of instigation to religious violence in the Mahฤbhฤrata - but this perhaps deserves a post of its own, so some other time. โฅ๏ธ current situation is incessant editing, and i am hopeful that in 2022 they will feel ready for publication. cannot wait to share my findings. ๐ฅฐ image: "The Flaming Tresses of Draupadฤซ" by Onkar Fondekar, for the illustration of the cover of the book of the same name written by Veerappa Moily, Rupa Publications. โฅ๏ธ

Princess Miri is getting a bit suspicious about the closeness of Prince Consort Onkar and Queen Hanna. A huge misunderstanding, since Onkar was just supportive and shit scared of Hanna's husband. Have you seen that guy? Miri, Caro and Onkar belong to @motherofroyalsims
Crown Prince Caro (C): Hey, I scoped out the place. Sadly no chicken nuggets and we also donโt have sweaters. Hey, you good? Princess Miri (M): Yeah, just your dad has been talking to the Queen of Windenburg the whole evening. C: Oh? I am sure they just talk about unimportant stuff.
M: Maybe, but they keep touching each others hands and smiling. C: .... M: It is very weird, but I could not make out what they were talking about. C: I will talk to my dad. I guess it is nothing. Maybe just supportive.
M: You do that, I dnโt want Caroline to get upset. She is already very emotional because of the pregnancy. C: Understood. I will talk to my dad. Maybe it is nothing. But they seem rather close. M: Exactly.
C: Hey dad, having fun? Prince Consort Onkar (O): Oh...Caro. Yes, it is really nice here. C: Miri saw you talking to the Queen of Windenburg a lot. O: Really? C: Yes, really. What are you doing, dad?
C: SO why are you flirting with another woman? O: Wait, what? Caro, I am not flirting with anyone. C: Miri saw you, touching hands and smiling. O: [sighs] C: So you did flirt. O: Caro listen, I told her about your mumโs pregnancy and she told me about her daughter having recentely given birth.
C: Oh crap. Sorry dad. O: You thought I was flirting? Donโt worry we were just talking. Besides I am shit scared of her husband. That dude is like double my size in muscles. C: Really? O: Yes and now enjoy the evening, nothing happend and tell Miri, it is alright.

I was raised Christian & Catholic and converted to Sikhi. (Mom is Catholic and Dad Christian.)
I wasn't involved much actually, I was baptized and had my communion, but once we moved, I stopped going to church. We celebrated Christmas and Easter, but it wasn't for religious reasons.
No, I didn't.
I just didn't feel that pull anymore and I felt disconnected from it.
I felt a community there and I felt that calling to Sikhi like a inner voice.
I went through atheism, agnosticism, a stint of Catholicism, and was considering Greco-Paganism before deciding against it.
I do believe in a Divine power, but it didn't influence my decision much.
Nope.
I didn't really have divine experiences from Catholicism.
Yes I do.
Yeah I did. I think I was put there because Waheguru ji wanted me to be there as apart of my destiny.
I feel like I had free will in choosing for myself, but Waheguru ji influenced it a bit.
Practicality wise, you just have to believe in Waheguru ji and believe that ik onkar. (There is only one G-d.) But there is a process of taking Amrit which is kind of like baptism, but not doing that doesn't make you a non-Sikh.
It didn't really take long. I started adding concepts of Sikhi into my daily life slowly, however hard it may have been sometimes, and here I am!
Yeah, I do actually! People here are really nice.
Definitely adapting my routine. Still need help with that.
I'm trans and aroace. Some Sikhs are trans-exclusionary which definitely made it harder for me to fully embrace Sikhi in of itself, especially with body-modification rules. On the aroace end, I don't think you have to date, so I think it's a non-issue, but I'm still unsure.
No, I don't think Sikhi does that.
I'm pretty sure Sikhi is neutral to conversion and doesn't have a concept of evangelism either.
How non-judgmental everyone is and how it's more focused on taking part in society (at least the sect I'm in does) then preaching to others.
The anti-trans sentiment I saw floating around and possible rules against celibacy. I'm still critical of trans issues within the community.
No, not really.
I don't relate to Catholicism much, but I do agree with some of the ten commandments.
Interfaith work is pretty good. I think tolerance should be widely practiced among people of all religions. I don't really feel pushed into being a bridge.
My parents know, and they are fully supportive. They still practice the religions I was raised in. My extended family does not know yet.
Cutting my hair. Gotta catch that kesh! Also ego.
Praying and meditating daily.
Probably integrating it in my daily life. I have some issues I need to work on in regards to that.
Just seeing how far I've come and the community I've found myself in.
If you are interested in Sikhi, research it and go for it if it fits! Just keep in mind that it takes time to integrate it into your routine and that's okay. Also, you aren't going to find much on Tumblr. I wish I knew about how long my five Banis were going to be for sure. I like doing them, but they are LONG.
Questions for fellow converts (from/to any religion):
I've picked up multiple new(ish) followers who are converts to other religions, as well as continue to have lots of gerim and conversion students to Judaism following me. So I'm curious about your experiences!!
What were you raised as and what did you convert to?
How involved were you with your religion/religious community growing up?
Did you continue in your original religion as an adult before converting out?
What made you decide to leave your former religion?
Why did you decide to convert to your new faith?
Did you go through any other religions or belief systems before landing on your current community?
Do you believe in any God or concept of the Divine, and if so, how did that influence your decision to convert (if at all)?
Did you have any sort of numinous experience that contributed to your feeling called to your chosen religion?
Did you have any experiences of the Divine in your religion of origin, and how have you synthesized that into your religion of choice?
Do you still believe in God or Gods or any concept of the Divine?
Do you feel like you were "called" or that you were "meant" to be part of your current faith? If so, why do you think you were placed outside the fold as a starting point?
Given the preceding question, how much choice do you feel like you had in converting? Do you feel like you could be any other way or on any other path now?
What does it take to be fully accepted as a full-fledged member of your chosen community and have you finished that process?
How long did your conversion process take? What were your experiences of it?
Do you feel accepted in your new community as a convert?
Did you face challenges in your conversion process?
Are you LGBTQ+ identified? How does that influence and fit into your new religious identity?
Does your community make any distinctions between converts and people born and raised in the faith? Are they supposed to?
Does your chosen religion encourage conversion? Discourage it? Have any concept of evangelism?
What are things you love about your chosen religion and/or religious community?
Are there things that made you hesitate about converting and/or things you are critical of in your chosen religion/religious community? How did you overcome these hesitations to convert? Are you still critical of these same issues?
Do you feel like your conversion gives you a unique perspective on your chosen religion? Your religion of origin?
How do you relate to your religion of origin and/or any other former faiths?
How do you feel about interfaith work from your perspective as a convert? Do you ever feel pushed into being a "bridge" between your religious community of choice and of origin? How do you feel about that role?
Does your family know, and if so, how did they react to your decision to convert? Do they still identify as the same religion/faith tradition they raised you in?
What have you had to give up in order to become part of your religion of choice?
What have you had to take up in order to become part of your religion of choice?
What was the hardest part of converting?
What was the most joyful part of converting?
What would you tell seekers who are interested in your chosen religion? What do you wish you'd known at the beginning? Is there anything you'd tell seekers to your religion of origin?
Feel free to answer any combination of these or all of them! Tag people if you want, but also don't feel like you have to be tagged in to answer. I genuinely am interested in hearing other people's experiences, especially people who have/are converting to different religions besides Judaism and/or from gerim/students from backgrounds other than Christianity.

What differentiates Internship at CollegeTips.in from other internships?
By Nisha Onkar Moudekar
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย I am currently working as an intern at โCollegeTips.inโ, the coolest internship I came across. It is the biggest recruiter of interns in India. During the lockdown, we know that there were companies that were terminating their employees due to multiple reasons but here comes CollegeTips that hired more than 25,000 interns in their company during the crucial time of the pandemic. Who else would do that in a lockdown?
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Also, have you heard of any company that recruits interns regardless of what their field is? Here comes CollegeTips again! It is open for everyone, whether you belong from Science, Commerce, Arts or any other streams/fields. We are well known to the fact that companies lay down a strict procedure and one particular field on which their interns are expected to work; but the internship here is a multi-domain one, which means that it includes various interesting tasks relating to multiple fields, that too only in a single internship. Isnโt that great? And also, getting tasks that are common to all and are not biased between streams, to make it super convenient for everyone to perform them in their best possible and efficient way is a standout. Here, interns are given a chance to get out of their comfort zone by allocating tasks, that they might not have done before.ย
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Coming to the interview procedure at CollegeTips. So, before getting recruited here, you need to qualify for zero interviews. Yes! You read that right. I know that companies do a selection procedure along with multiple interviews. But here thereโs no such thing as hectic interview stuff. It is because they provide the chance to everyone; a chance to learn and grow. Internshala has internship applications of mostly non-branded companies that are not heard of through Internshala itself. But in CollegeTips, you get the direct contact and a direct application for the internship with a reputed and well-established company. While working at CollegeTips, you are provided with an Internship Certificate, Letter of Recommendation (LoR), and stipend (sales-based).
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Many of you are introduced to the importance of networking in your professional life by now. This is the only platform in India where you will get an excellent opportunity to explore different areas and also will get a chance to build a network with people belonging to different states of India. And also, I feel privileged to bring to your notice that, CollegeTips is the only platform in India that provides internship opportunities to school students as well. This will help them to explore their interests, identify their capabilities, and will also get real-world experience at an early age. Few of you might think that school students are not in a situation to take work-related stress in their life at that age. We are entirely on your side in this regard. That is why, CollegeTips provides a working environment where you need to be focused but not stressed.
For insights about CollegeTips, you can visit their Instagram handle @collegetips.
You can also visit their website https://www.collegetips.in/ for additional information.

A giant logical flaw in Sikhi (Sikhism) via /r/atheism
Submitted December 23, 2020 at 05:20AM by penduji (Via reddit https://ift.tt/3pjgymM) A giant logical flaw in Sikhi (Sikhism)
Hello, I know that this sub is dominated by posts against Islam and Christianity but I want to talk about Sikhism, mainly because Iโm more familiar with it as I am Punjabi myself and grew up around Sikhs in my hometown of Brampton which is heavily dominated by South Asians.
So Sikhism believes in one god commonly called by Sikhs as Waheguru or Ik Onkar, and the founder of the religion, Nanak grew up in the Indian subcontinent which was dominated by Hindus and Muslims at the time. He preached that God sent beings/saints/prophets/messangers like Ram, Shiva, Krishna and Muhammad (he didnt mention any christian or jewish figures) to spread the message of God but those figures became corrupt and developed egos, thought of themselves as God. So atone for his mistakes, God enlightened ten Punjabi guys (7 out of 10 of them came from the same family btw, nepotism much) and gave them the task of spreading the true message of God and shunning and rejecting the false religions that the messangers he sent earlier propagated.
The problems with this:
Well firstly why would God send beings to spread his message if he knew they would become corrupted and spread ignorance, falsehood and destructive practices and beliefs. If he was all knowing why would he do this? This mirrors the Islamic view that there were thousands of prophets to spread the message of submission to Allah. The difference is that Muslims believe the prophets God sent were perfect but humans corrupted their message or distorted it. Sikhs believe that the messengers or beings that God sent were corrupt themselves
Second, why would God randomly choose to enlighten 10 Punjabi dudes and essentially pick them to be divine beings and not just collectively enlighten all of humanity. Hmmmm
So anyways God accidentally created the false religions of Hinduism and Islam according to Sikhism. Unfortunately this had massive implications for humanity as the fighting between Hindus and Muslims lead to tens of millions of people dead, enslaved, tortured and orphaned and widowed. Oopsies.
So anyways God then enlightened Nanak, essentially giving him superpowers. Being a bit hyperbolic here, but yes there are stories that Nanak did miracles (which is essentially magic) like being underwater for 3 days while being in communion with God and making rotis ooze blood. I even heard a story where Nanak disappeared into thin air and showed a man all the other worlds in the universe before reappearing. Essentially he is just depicted as an ifalliable and magical being. God gave Nanak the true message and Nanak essentially said the religions and rituals of Hinduism and Islam were false, like he called Hindus and Muslims blind and ignorant and called Hindus (idol worshippers) dogs, although Sikhism incorporates many practices and beliefs of Hinduism.
But as Sikhism developed, the gurus and Sikhs became at odds with the Muslim tyrant rulers. The wars between Muslims and Sikhs and to a lesser extent Sikhs and Hindus left many, many dead and untold suffering and pain. Yet Sikhs believe that God is perfect, all merciful and benevolent even though Gods actions indirectly lead to millions of deaths. He let false religions arise through bringing out false messengers and people killed millions in the name of those religions inculding many Sikhs. Even today billions of people follow false religions, live in ignorance, practice useless rituals and follow antiquated and primitive and barbaric teachings that Islam and Hinduism preached, according to Sikhism
Btw I know that The criticisms I made of sikhism apply to every religion. Also theres a misconception that Sikhism respects all religions. Thats not entirely true, Sikhism explicitly and repeatedly condemns Hinduism and Islam and their teachings and rituals many of which are fundamental to their religion, for a good reason btw. Theres many moral, logical and scientific issues in Sikhism as well however

The coronation of Tsarina Taisiya Crown Prince Caro of Del Sol and Princess Miri of Oasis Springs are having a good time, mean while Prince Consort Onkar of Del Sol has a chat with the Queen of Windenburg. Caro, Miri and Onkar belong to @motherofroyalsims
Crown Prince Caro (C): This is amazing here, I swear getting a weekend off from Military Camp was totally worth it. Princess Miri (M): At least you have fun on your weekend off. C: You donโt? M: No, no I am having fun, it is just nice to see you again having fun.
C: Best thing, your dad is not here to scold me, I think my dad came here to make sure we donโt do anything stupid. M: We are law abiding citizens. We would never do anything stupid. Although from the way these people are here, we seem rather tame.
C: I agree, but hey they also have some cool stuff here. Never saw an abbey with a partey room. Whoever build that was a genius. M: They lack some chicken nuggets though. C: [sighs] Sadly. But hey we can just ask them if they can make some.
M: You are right, but first we might need to talk to some people here. At least enjoy our time here. Before you go back to being shouted at by a man and me being shouted at by a woman. C: is mum that hard on you?โ M: Hormones, I do not blame her.
Queen Hanna (H): So you are just here with your son and his fiancee? Prince Consort Onkar (O): Yes, I had to keep an eye on them and my wife Caroline kind of โkickedโ me out to have some fun. H: [laughs a little bit] O:Nothing bad happend, just that I am cooped up and treat her like she lost a leg, instead of a pregnant woman.
H: Oh congratulation. O: Thanks. It is just so weird sometimes. We did try for yesrs and now when our son is like close to being an adult. She gets pregnant. H: It is still sweet. O: With whom did you attend the coronation? H: My husband and my second daughter. My first one is home with her husband taking care of her baby. O: Oh congratulations?
H: I wish, she is 17. O: Oh...that is... H: Kind of bad I know, but what can you do about it. She was already reprimanded. At least she is taking care of her daughter. O: Oh that is good thing. Must be stressfull for her. H: Well, actions have consequences.
O: Well good look with your daughter and granddaughter. H: Thanks and to you as well, to your new addition. O: Additions. H: Oh? O: She will have triplets. H: Holy shit! Oh...sorry. That just slipped by.

A guru who travelled across Asia, preached Humanity and constituted human lives under one Mahamantra ,"Ik Onkar" being celebrated across globe today . His Birthday is considered pious in Sikhism that's why people from all ethics call it festival of light . Here light stands for eternal Truth; A truth which can be accomplished by serving humanity .
Guru nanak ji put humanity up rather than worshipping in temple , mosque or Gurudwara . He never advocated any rituals and the images of god but always said - Serve humanity and recite his name who is formless in solitude .
Politically india divided into two parts in 1947 and a new contry came into existence- Pakistan . Guru Nanak birthplace and last breath place both fall into Pakistan now but from India countless of Sikhs use to visit Kartarpur Sahib to pay Homage to their first Guru .
The relationship between two Nation never experienced stable or friendly but in terms of religious faith neither country ever try to hurt any believers . Above is the picture of Kartarpur sahib in pakistan and standing with pride and glory.
The common man has nothing to do with hostility between this two nation but still there is political pressure on them to condemn each other . I do believe that it is only common man who can make good relation but unfortunately no one trying this .
From pakistan people will visit india and offer their Nawaz at Ajmer sharif and from India people will visit Kartarpur sahib and pay homage to guru nanak ji but never do try to fix issues between two countries which is continued since 1947 .
Many have lost their lives at border, each day firing and killing happen at LOC but still no bothering ! We must think about this as to how can our civilization be divided ? We are interconnected and we must acknowledge this without any further delay .
We must follow brotherhood and humanity and this was only purpose of Guru Nanak ji to visit across Asia . Somewhere we are missing the real messege and practicing in wrong direction .
Pakistan live long, India live long . Jai Hind .

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actors Samir Onkar, Swati Chitnis and Sachin Tyagi tested COVID negative! The team of producer Rajan Shahiโs well known show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, were in for a speed bump, when they learnt that three of their actors Sachin Tyagi, Swati Chitnis and Samir Onkar tested positive for the dreaded COVID 19 virus. The three actors were immediately home quarantined and sent under medical guidance. However, sunny days are back again as all three of them have tested COVID negative after the results of the second testing came out. Samir, who plays the character of Samarth Goenka in the show, is glad to have recovered from it and is glad that he has producer like Rajan Shahi and a cooperative team who supported him through the show. Samir Onkar says, " I am thankful to the God and to all my well wishers for their blessings and prayers because of whom I got this super speedy recovery without any damage The test for the 2nd time felt like awaiting an examโs result since I had heard from so many people that it can again come positive even after 2 or 3 weeks. So, I was just praying with my fingers crossed that it must be NEGATIVE. I had followed a required diet followed by juices, coconut water, more of salad and fruits and multivitamins. And almost every day I was getting calls from my co-actors and crew members,โ he says. Samir goes on to add, โRajan sir and my directors were so worried, and they kept calling and messaging me to know about my health status. I missed going on sets but it didnโt feel like I was forgotten at all. Rajan sir and everyone else called me almost daily and kept updating me about what was happening on the shoot. They are really like a big family for me.โ The actor did have a tough time staying quarantined though. โThis time I had almost lost my patience because, firstly, I had no symptoms at all as it was asymptomatic or maybe by the grace of god my body has strong tolerance capacity but still I had to be at home because of Covid positive report and secondly, I was missing the shoots a lot and felt irritated sometimes because most of the cast are shooting and I am under house arrest. It was way difficult from the l https://www.instagram.com/p/CE4RH1AAQbL/?igshid=dcvra58noplc

Would Sikhs be considered Noahides according to Judaism?
Shalom and Sat Sri Akal! This is a really interesting and exciting question for us. We both (Mod Elana and Mod Lily) had to research Noahidism in order to answer this question, so please forgive us if we make any mistakes.
From our understanding, Noahides are goyim who live in accordance with the Seven Laws of Noah. Although only Jews must abide by Halacha (Jewish law), goyim living in Jewish states or societies are nonetheless required to abide by these laws. There are many ways to restate and reinterpret the Seven Laws of Noah, but in simplistic terms they are as follows:
Believe in one God and do not worship false idols.
Do not blaspheme or speak ill of God.
Do not murder.
Do not engage in illicit sexual relations.
Do not steal.
Do not eat meat from an animal while it is still alive.
Establish courts and legal systems to ensure obedience to the preceding six laws.
From what weโve read, thereโs at least two ways to use the label โNoahide.โ The first is a self-identifier, applied to themselves by some goyim who wish to be spiritually closer to Judaism but who are not inoculated into the Jewish tribe. The second is used by Jews to describe goyim who live in accordance with these Seven Laws, irrespective of whether they want to be closer to Judaism or not or whether they identify with the label or not.
Under the first definition of a Noahide, there could certainly be such a thing as a Sikh Noahide, i.e. a Sikh who wishes to be spiritually closer to Judaism but who is not a Jew. Such a Sikh would likely modify their practice in such a way that more closely aligned with the principles expressed in the Seven Laws of Noah.
Under the second definition of a Noahide, however, it is not easy to apply such a concept to Sikhi. The Seven Laws of Noah are expressed in the form of commands and prohibitions (โthou shaltsโ and โthou shalt notsโ), but there is no such corresponding concept as โSikh law.โ There is no direct Sikh parallel to Halacha (Jewish law). Rather than laws or commandments, Sikh beliefs and principles are meant to be inferred and interpreted by reading and pondering poetic scriptures. The word Sikkh (เจธเจฟเฉฑเจ) itself means โlearnerโ, and Sikkhiฬ (เจธเจฟเฉฑเจเฉ) means โway of learningโ. According to Sikh philosophy, teaching believers to follow laws is less effective than teaching believers to discover them. Right action (เจงเจฐเจฎ dharam) is not explicitly stated, but rather, intimated through poetry. Upon contemplating this poetry, the learner (Sikh) will discover and truly understand the dharam of Waheguru. In her book Sikhism: An Introduction, Nikki-Guninder Kaur Singh writes:
โThe text [Sri Guru Granth Sahib] does not give any direct injunctions. Neither is it prescriptive, nor proscriptive. The Gurus offered only sublime poetry with intimations, which, more than rules, has the capacity to reach the inner recesses of the mind and bring about social change.โ โ Nikki-Guninder Kaur Singh, Sikhism: An Introduction (2011), p. 104
There is a Sikh code of conduct called the Rehat Maryada, โCode of Disciplineโ, but its contents are not meant to be ethical guidelines. Instead, the Rehat Maryada provides guidance on practical aspects of Sikh practice such as the maintenance of Gurdwaras (Sikh places of worship) and proper Sikh dress code. The scope of the Rehat Maryada does not cover ethical principles, but rather pragmatic ones.
Because thereโs no transparent legal code governing Sikhi, itโs hard to say if Sikhs โare Noahides.โ Noahidism is expressed in the form of laws, but Sikhi governs by teaching dharam, not commanding it. One Sikh might be a Noahide and live by these laws, but another might not be. It depends on what these Sikhs have learned or discovered to be Waheguruโs dharam. There are, of course, correct and incorrect ways to interpret Sri Guru Granth Sahib, but much of it is quite ambiguous and interpretable in many ways. I (Mod Lily) am going to go through each of the Seven Laws of Noah and do my best to provide scriptural support for these laws where applicable, but with the caveat that applying any kind of โlawsโ to Sikhi is often a difficult, ill-fated endeavor.
NOTE: Mod Lily apologizes in advance for the many errors she has surely made in transcribing Gurbani. She is rather clumsy when typing in Gurmukhi and hopes that astute readers will forgive her for any mistakes.
1. Believe in one God and do not worship false idols.
Of all the Seven Laws, this one most unambiguously applies to Sikhi. Sikhi is unflinchingly monotheistic. The name Waheguru itself (the Sikh name for the Divine) consists of เจตเจพเจนเจฟ waฬhe (โsingular, supreme, incomparableโ) + เจเฉเจฐเฉ guruฬ (โmaster, teacher, illuminatorโ). The very first verse of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, known as the Muฬl Mantar (โFundamental Mantraโ), states:
One Infinite Divine whose Name is Truth. The Creator and Sculptor of All. Fearless, hateless. Timeless and undying. Unborn, self-existent, self-illuminated; by Guruโs grace. - SGGS p. 1
The symbol เฉด (Ik Onkar), meaning One Divinity or One Universal Truth/Being/Entity, appears dozens of times throughout Sri Guru Granth Sahib. It adorns every Gurdwara (Sikh place of worship) and is one of the most recognizable symbols of the Sikh faith. เฉด serves to remind Sikhs of Waheguruโs Oneness. This Oneness is impossible to overstate. Throughout Sri Guru Granth Sahib, it is emphasized that there is quite literally nothing in existence besides Waheguru. According to Sikh belief, Waheguru pervades and permeates all of creation, and all of creation is intimately connected to the Divine:
เจคเฉเจนเฉ เจฎเฉเจนเฉ เจฎเฉเจนเฉ เจคเฉเจนเฉ เจ
เฉฐเจคเจฐเฉ เจเฉเจธเจพ เฅฅ เจเจจเจ เจเจเจฟเจ เจคเจฐเฉฐเจ เจเฉเจธเจพ เฅฅเฉงเฅฅYou are me, I am you; what is the difference between us? We are like gold and the bracelet, or water and the waves. - SGGS p. 93

You are like the ocean, and this world is like bubbles and froth arising from it. Except You I do not see anything else. - SGGS p. 102
As far as idolatry is concerned, Sikhs are not to worship any physical symbols of the Divine. We have many symbols and images which remind us of our faith, such as the previously mentioned เฉด (Ik Onkar), but we are not to pay worship or tribute to anyone or anything but Waheguru. (NOTE: I include the following verse only for elaboration on the agreements between Sikhi and the Seven Laws of Noah. This blog serves a hugely diverse group of people with a wide range of beliefs, and I would never to wish to antagonize those faiths which do place immense value on paying tribute to idols, shrines, and other representations of the Divine.)

Rice and beans, candies, cakes and goodies โ the priest enjoys these, while he puts ashes into the mouth of the idol. - SGGS p. 479
2. Do not blaspheme or speak ill of God.
There is no direct injunction or intimation in Sikh scriptures against speaking ill of Waheguru. It is generally believed that Waheguruโs Glory is neither increased nor diminished by the words of humans. However, slander (เจจเจฟเฉฐเจฆเจพ nindaฬ) is referenced and condemned dozens of times. Sikhs are to refrain from speaking ill of all others, not merely Waheguru.

Such a humble servant chants the Name of the Divine, Har, Har. โ SGGS p. 1147
Slander is seen as a very high offense in Sikhi, and slanderers are portrayed in Sri Guru Granth Sahib as pitiful, wretched figures. Those who slander are false, and do not know themselves; they are full of ego and selfishness (เจนเจเจฎเฉ haume), and most importantly of all, they are unhappy. One who does not slander or speak ill of others realizes that all are connected to Waheguru, and remains happy and blissful while the slanderer is lost in anger and vitriol.

The slanderer suffers, as if stabbed by a spear. Like a crane, he spreads his feathers, to look like a swan. When he speaks with his mouth, then he is exposed and driven out. - SGGS p. 1152
Only one passage makes explicit reference to โslandering the Saintsโ, the closest which Sri Guru Granth Sahib comes to discussing the notion of blasphemy.

3. Do not murder.
Sikhs have great respect for the intrinsic value of life, from the smallest ant to the largest elephant. Even water itself is described as a living thing in Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Because all living things are connected to one another as siblings and children of Waheguru, causing unnecessary pain to living things is considered a heinous act. Killing others, especially in the name of God or faith, is condemned.

However, Sikhi is not a pacifist religion and Sikhs are not necessarily called to nonviolence. Sikhs believe that violence is acceptable only if it is an act of defense of the self or of others. Sikhi teaches that the only time when violence is acceptable is to defend innocents from evil which would seek to kill them first.

4. Do not engage in illicit sexual activities.
Sri Guru Granth Sahib makes frequent reference to the โfive thievesโ, or เจชเฉฐเจ เจเฉเจฐ (panj cor): conceit (เจ
เจนเฉฐเจเจพเจฐ ahankaฬr), greed (เจฒเฉเจญ lobh), anger (เจเฉเจฐเฉเจง krodh), attachment (เจฎเฉเจน moh), and lust (เจเจพเจฎ kaฬm). These thieves steal oneโs happiness, and lead people away from Waheguru into suffering (เจฆเฉเฉฑเจ dukkh). They are not โsinsโ, but rather vices which bring emotional and spiritual pain to people who practice them. Replacing these thieves with the โfive virtuesโ is the path to unwavering happiness (เจเฉเจฆเฉ เจเจฒเจพ carฬฃdiฬ kalaฬ): truth (เจธเจค sat), contenment (เจธเฉฐเจคเฉเจ santokh), compassion (เจฆเจเจ dayaฬ), humility (เจจเจฟเจฎเจฐเจคเจพ nimartaฬ), and love (เจชเจฟเจเจฐ pyaฬr).
Lust is condemned many times throughout Sri Guru Granth Sahib, portrayed as one of the thieves who steal oneโs mind away from remembrance of Waheguru. However, Sikhi does not elaborate as much on the topic of lust and sexuality as Judaism does, so I cannot say for certain whether โillicit sexual activitiesโ under Jewish law would be considered โillicitโ by Sikh teachings. One teaching that Sikhi is clear on is that adultery (having sex with the spouse or significant other of another) is a spiritual poison:
Day after day, he eats his meals with many different foods, but his hunger is not eradicated. He runs around like a dog, searching in the four directions. The lustful, lecherous man desires many women, and he never stops peeking into the homes of others. Day after day, he commits adultery again and again, and then he regrets his actions; he wastes away in misery and greed. - SGGS p. 672
Beyond this, Sikhiโs teachings on sexual conduct are rather vague. The Five Thieves are referenced dozens of times in Sri Guru Granth Sahib, but lust is rarely elaborated upon on its own; almost always, when lust is described, it is grouped together with the other Thieves. When lust is discussed on its own, it is described quite painfully:
เจฎเจฟเจฅเจจ เจฎเฉเจน เจ
เจเจจเจฟ เจธเฉเจ เจธเจพเจเจฐ เฅฅ เจเจฐเจฟ เจเจฟเจฐเจชเจพ เจเจงเจฐเฉ เจนเจฐเจฟ เจจเจพเจเจฐ เฅฅเฉงเฅฅAttachment to sex is an ocean of fire and pain. By Your Grace, O Waheguru, please save me from it. - SGGS p. 760
It can be inferred from Sri Guru Granth Sahib that excessive obsession and addiction to sex are great spiritual poisons, but beyond adultery does not describe what constitutes an โillicit sex actโ. Traditionally and culturally, there are plenty of taboos around sex and sexuality among Sikhs, such as abstaining from sex until marriage and opposition to homosexuality, but there is no unambiguous scriptural basis for these things. On a personal note, while trying to find scriptural quotes dealing with this topic, I was startled to realize just how vague Sikhiโs teachings are regarding sexuality, considering how entrenched Sikh culture can unfortunately be in the policing of sex and sexuality.
5. Do not steal.
There arenโt many literal references to thievery in Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Most of the time, thievery is used as a metaphorical device to describe spiritual degradation, such as the Five Thieves. Whether literally or metaphorically, thievery is particularly associated with the vice of greed. Materialism and greed, according to Sikh scriptures, are useless, because oneโs wealth and physical things will waste away and leave, but oneโs love for Waheguru will not disappear even in death.

When literal references to thievery are made, thievery is usually juxtaposed with charity. While the stealing of material goods is condemned, the giving of them is praised.

6. Do not eat eat from an animal while it is still alive.
Iโm unable to find any verses to this effect in Sri Guru Granth Sahib, though I believe most Sikhs would certainly find the idea abhorrent. Causing unnecessary harm to any creature is abhorrent to most Sikhs.
When Sikhs eat meat, we prefer to eat meat from animals which have been killed in a single instant with a single strike, so that the animal does not suffer needlessly. Meat killed in this way is called เจเจเจเจพ jhatฬฃkaฬ. A very significant proportion of Sikhs practice vegetarianism, but Sikh scripture does not specifically require it. There are several verses which state that the eating of meat is not necessarily wrong, but rather a necessary part of the natural cycle of life from which humans are not exempt.

And those animals which eat grass โ They could make them eat meat. He could make them follow this way of life. Waheguru could raise dry land from the rivers, and turn the deserts into bottomless oceans. They could appoint a worm as king, and reduce an army to ashes. All beings and creatures live by breathing, but They could keep us alive, even without the breath. O Nanak, as it please the True Divine, They give us sustenance. - SGGS p. 144
Knowingly eating meat from an animal which has been slaughtered in a slow and painful manner, known as เจเฉเจ เจพ kutฬฃhaฬ, is one of the cardinal sins for which a Sikh can be excommunicated.
7. Establish courts and legal systems to ensure obedience to the preceding six laws.
This is the hardest of the Seven Laws to apply to Sikhi because Sikhi lacks โlawsโ comparable to those of Judaism. Sri Guru Granth Sahib does not suggest any kind of โSikh governmentโ or the creation of Sikh courts. Under the Rehat Maryada, there are laws and judiciary systems in place to admonish Sikhs who have committed a cardinal sin, such as the eating of kutha meat mentioned above. However, the Rehat Maryada is very limited in scope and applies only to Sikhs, and only baptized (Amritdhari) Sikhs at that. A common epithet for Waheguru is เจงเจฐเจฎ เจฐเจพเจ Dharam Raฬiฬ, โthe Judge of Dharma (righteous action)โ, and it is believed that only They can truly administer judgment and punishment. There is no true system of jurisprudence in Sikhi which would provide for the creation of such a legal system.
There is historical precedent of Sikhs not enforcing the first two laws: Believe in one God, and do not blaspheme Him. From the late 18th to early 19th centuries, the Sikh Empire existed in modern Punjab and other parts of South Asia, ruled by Maharaj Ranjit Singh, a titanic figure in Sikh history. During his reign, although it was the Sikh Empire, Sikhi was not the state religion and Maharaj Ranjit Singh did not impose Sikh beliefs or practices on his subjects. Instead, his court was famously diverse, including not only Sikhs but also Muslims, Hindus, Jains, Buddhists, and even Christians and possibly Jews. Polytheistic and atheistic practices were tolerated and given equal legal status, and broad religious freedoms were put in place. Sikhs generally do not believe that it is right to govern or impose upon the religious practices and beliefs of other faiths, and Sri Guru Granth Sahib instructs us many times to tolerate and respect every faith.

On a more personal note, Mod Elana believes that it is unfair to designate a member/practitioner/disciple of a given faith under a term not exclusive to their own faith without examining the connotations of it.
For example, the term โNoahideโ is typically applied to someone who is not a Jew, but follows the Seven Laws of Noah. However, the designation would not be, for example, a Christian Noahide, but a Noahide with Christian influence. Her (personal, opinion-derived) problem with that is that it seems/sounds to be negating the importance of their faith.
Lastly, to answer the question as it was sent: would someone practicing Sikhi be called a Noahide โin Judaismโ? Well, thereโs no real yes or no answer, because it depends on who you ask - different learned Jewish scholars from different sects of the faith would have different interpretations and feelings on the matter.
