Tumblr ate my draft but my memory generally works so here we go. THIS IS TO THE ANON WHO ASKED ABOUT “VOODOO DOLLS AND W*NDIGOS IN RELATION TO that uh that one show called uh, fuck, uh - oh “THE GRIMM””
Obviously, I have not watched the Grimm so I cannot say based on that show’s portrayal in particular, but if it’s like most pop culture representations, it’s... probably pretty inaccurate and disrespectful.
First off, let’s preface this with a note about closed religions and my own credibility (or lack thereof) when it comes to talking about this topic. Obviously, it’s always best to speak with a direct practicioner/primary source. Since there is a relatively small population of those and none who I can call on for this, you’ll have to do with a secondhand source that’s gathered information through research and talking with their indigenous friends and other primary sources etc. If you are a practitioner of either of these religions/groups of religions, feel free to add input/corrections/etc., I am still learning and am only human.
Since the other ask is about w*ndigos too and this is my second time writing this, I’m just gonna address that over there.
So, voodoo religion, cultural appropriation, the whole shebang -
Voodoo is a closed religion, often practiced alongside/incorporated with Catholicism, and while it is stated as okay to study it respectfully/etc., it is considered disrespctful to practice if you have not been OfficiallyTM initiated into the religion. (There is apparently a ceremony, but I don’t know much of the details. If it helps, think of it as a baptism. Which it kinda is. But anyway-)
There are many types of “voodoo” religions, such as Haitian Voudou, Cuban Vod, etc. What we’re discussing today is in regard to Louisiana/New Orleans Voodoo.
Voodoo is an amalgation of Voudou/Voudon religions practiced by many indigenous people in Africa along with Hoodoo and Catholicism that occurred due to the forced introduction of African peoples into both America and Catholicism via the slave trade. Hoodoo is described as a spirituality by some and a religion by others, but all see it as a lifestyle either way. Hoodoo focuses on herb/rootlore, medicines, and rituals, and is part of where the “witchcraft” stories of voodoo began to originate.
Because God forbid anybody know natural medicines instead of using leeches/bleeding or drinking a mercury and vodka tonic.
*Ahem.* Continuing on, apparently some areas of Louisiana refer to Hoodoo as “Lowcountry voodoo,” though I couldn’t find any information as to whether that was an accurate or respectful term, so. Just remember that they’re very closely tied and overlap in many ways.
Overall, Voodoo draws on Catholic Saints, Voudon gods and traditions that have been slightly shifted into more Saint-like figures + other changes, and Hoodoo practices.
Now that the general introduction is over, let’s focus on the example brought up - voodoo dolls.
The commonly known “fact” of voodoo dolls is that you make a tiny image of a person you hate and then stick it full of needles to cause them pain/kill them/whatever. This is wrong. Throw that out the window and set it on fire.
It is true that voodoo dolls exist and that they are meant to replicate people. They are a form of gris-gris, which can be thought of as a charm or prayer meant to bring good luck/etc., though there are some forms of bad luck/negative gris-gris as well.
The purpose of the voodoo doll itself is to serve as a representation and medium for the Voodoo spirits - the Loa, composed of ancestors and guardian spirits - to act through. (I don’t know if any of the major Saint/deity figures are ever invoked through this or if it’s just the Loa.) Most voodoo dolls are used as well wishes for others, and what type of wish depends on what is pinned to the doll. Rose petals for love, garlic or clover for luck, place between blue and white candles for healing, etc.
It’s about praying for someone else and creating a medium for that prayer, not stabby mc-stab time. This and many other false images around voodoo are a consequence of cultural appropriation - hence why it’s become such a concern. Media (looking at you especially, “White Zombie”) created a very false image of voodoo which the tourism industry facilitated in the name of capitalism. This disrespectful portrayal has not only caused widespread misinformation about one of the important aspects of the Voodoo religion, but also painted a bad light on the religion as a whole.
That’s why cultural appropriation is so dangerous. It’s alright to respectfully try to study and learn more about other cultures and religions, but that knowledge needs to be used and portrayed carefully and it’s often not, even if no malicious intent is meant.
It’s hard to find good information about voodoo on the internet, but some sites that might be worth checking out (or at least carefully reading through and plucking out actual information are):

I’m working on compiling information about Voodoo to separate fact from fiction and etc., but at the moment it’s a slightly edited, jumbled up copy pasted mess as I go through, comparing/contrasting info and writing summaries/notes on it. I can share it if anyone is interested, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Money Altars
A money altar is an altar dedicated specifically to money matters. You can have altar for any area of your life that you want or are prioritizing right now, for example many people have love altars if they are trying to attract new love or are looking to sustain a long term relationship. Since money is at the center of my life right now, stacking it, playing with it, spending it, earning it, It’s a perfect time to share it with you here.
There is a lot of money spells out there and a lot of them work, but attracting more money into your life and living differently because of that money is about building a relationship with money.
Trusting money, loving money and knowing money loves you. People who don’t trust money think that its always running out, it doesn’t grow on trees, there’s always more month than money, and that they can’t rise into a new financial situation. Those kind of thoughts make it harder to attract and keep more money.
Building a money altar allows you to start a relationship with money. At my money altar I simply started with $5 and a white candle, and everyday (mostly) I would light the candle, and touch the money. I felt its energy and I visualized having more of it. I’m currently building a new altar since I moved (pics to come).
Things you can add to a money altar:
Real money- $1, $5, $10, $20, $100, whatever you have and whatever makes you feel comfortable to start with. Not only does putting real money on the altar bring the energy it is an act of trust. I’ve been there where $5 is a lot of money to put on a table and not spend but it is crucial you put real money here.
Crystals- My favorite money stone is malachite but I also included rose quartz on my altar because for me money is tied to my self worth and rose quartz helps with it. You can use any money drawing stones (like a lodestone!)
A honey jar- If you’ve made a honey jar for anything money related putting it on your money altar is a great idea! It will help keep it charged and bring more energy to the space.
Candles- Everybody knows I loveeee my candles so its a must for me. Flames add energy for me so having them there is crucial.
Money herbs- patchouli, cinnamon, bay leaves, all spice, orange peels, basil, any herbs that you would use for attracting money.
Things to do at a money altar:
Visualize- Visualization is huge part of my spell casting and life in general. If I can see it my mind then I can feel it in my body and then I can actually get my head around it and call it in. All my spells start by imagining it already done
Journal- I’m a writer so words are important to me and can move me through a situation quickly. If i’m feeling freaked out about money or I don’t know how I’m gonna pay X instead of freaking out I write about it at the altar. Writing about it makes me feel better and releases those negative emotions and keeps me from constantly thinking “is this even working?” I tell clients this all the time, things come to you easier if you are detached and certain of the outcome.
Money spells/petitions- I do money spells, and write petitions for things I need at the altar. I ONLY do my own spells here. I have a little box or area I keep petitions in and trust that those issues are being handled.
Having a relationship with money is like having a relationship with anything else. Would you constantly question if your partner was gonna run out on you and leave you with nothing? (hopefully not) So the goal is to not do this with money. Building a relationship with money has been life changing for me, and while you can do this many ways, building an altar has really helped me. An altar is something that holds a lot of energy in one place so having a specific altar for money has solved issues and built my trust with money faster.
A reminder that I still have a spot left for mentoring. In mentoring we work on whatever it is you want to work on attracting into your life. New love, money, new job, a business, whatever it is, I am an expert on how to become a magnet for things you want and call them into your life. This is offer is NOT hoodoo specific and open to anyone of any background but if you do practice I will happily infuse that into our lessons. For more info DM me, this is a time sensitive offer.
I hope this helped ya’ll, happy casting!

Psychic Curses and Spells that Work
Article about removing curses by Craig Hamilton-Parker.
Since earliest times, people have used ritual and magic to influence the world. The bison drawings from the prehistoric Altamira cave paintings in Spain, dating from 15,000 BC, may have been used in ritual magic to make sure a successful hunt. The principle is that similar things create similar effects–like produces like, or an effect resembles its cause. For example, in black magic, a human being could be cursed to death by spearing a skull with a metal point bearing the name of the intended victim.
This imitation of effects to influence events is called sympathetic magic. Magic also holds that things that have once been in contact with each other continue to act on each other at a distance after the physical contact has been severed. Many magic love spells, for example, require that the magician procure samples of the intended’s hair or fingernails to be used in the ritual or potion. The former principle is called the Law of Similarity, while the latter is the Law of Contagion or Contact.
Burning Effigies
I am writing this particular chapter on November 5, when we in the UK celebrate the ending of the first terrorist attack. Guy Fawkes was a co-conspirator in the “Gunpowder Plot” of 1605 in England. He and his cohorts decided to blow up the Houses of Parliament in London and succeeded in smuggling several barrels of gunpowder into the basement. The plot was thwarted and to this day we celebrate the occasion by setting off fireworks and burning effigies of Guy Fawkes.
This is, in fact, a form of sympathetic magic. Burning an effigy helps people to vent their hatred for their enemies in public, but the magician’s “law of similarity” also believes that burning the effigy will bring harm to the person whose image is being burnt. (A few years ago, my sister insisted that we burn an effigy of her ex-partner in place of the “Guy”)
The ritual of effigy-burning has been found in many ancient cultures including that of India, Babylon, Egypt, Greece, and Rome. The Ojibway of the American West would fashion little wooden images of an enemy and burn them while chanting magic spells. Called “the burning of the soul,” this ritual was believed to bring about the enemy’s death.
Then, of course, we have all heard of the voodoo doll, into which pins would be inserted to cause an enemy harm. Voodoo is still largely practised in Haiti; while in New Orleans, rooted in its large slave population mixed with Catholicism, you will find altars set up to protect against hoodoo magic (like voodoo a primarily healing-based practice based on sympathetic magic).
Sympathetic Magic
Sympathetic magic is still with us today in our superstitions and beliefs. How often do we see the American flag or effigies of Uncle Sam being burnt in protests? Burning an effigy is pure sympathetic magic: just as the image suffers, so does the man or nation.
“Holy Trinity, punish him who has done this evil and take him from us by thy great justice, that the sorcerer/sorceress may be anathema and we may be safe. Amen.” Popular Hoodoo Spell to remove a curse (To be spoken while throwing angelica in a southern direction)
Sympathetic magic is not necessarily evil in its intent. For example, voodoo (or more properly “Vodu”) is a religion that is characterised by ceremony, music, dance, and sacrifice, through which participants commune with their ancestors in trance and possession. It has a pantheon of spirits, called ‘Iwa’ that protect areas of life including love, family health, and wealth. Similarly, throughout Europe and America, there is a growing interest in the old religion of Paganism which is trying to cast off the negative witchcraft image given it by Christianity.
The truth is that many ancient magical beliefs may be used for good or ill. For example, returning to the effigy theme, puppet healing is the reverse of effigy burning. Instead of desiring to kill or injure the person whom the puppet represents, the practitioner wishes to help them. Healing given to the puppet is transmitted to the person represented.
Protective Spells
Protective healing spells are cast on the night of a full moon by voodoo sorcerers. In particular, they will make a Paket Kongo to summon the healing spirits. This is an onion-shaped, bright coloured, a cloth-bound package filled with herbs and the powdered flesh of a sacrificed rooster. It is tied around with string seven times and has large feathers sticking out of its top. Similarly, a Catholic may pray in Church with a rosary or a colour healer may “charge” water or a photograph with coloured light (Graphichromotherapy). Clearly, it is the intention of the practitioner that determines whether the results of magic are good or evil.
Voodoo and hoodoo have some interesting methods to protect the soul from harm. For example, if a person believes that they are under a psychic attack, there are a number of remedies that they can use to negate the harm. They may have a feeling that something “out there” is after them or that someone has bad intentions towards them. Similarly, they may feel that this energy has become an “entity” that is causing bad luck or illness. Wiccans generally believe that once you are aware of the curse or negative energy sent towards you, it no longer has power, where followers of voodoo and hoodoo believe that a curse, spell, or “crossing” can only be lifted using specific rituals and techniques.
The Psychology of Spell Casting
Naturally, psychology plays an important part in making a spell work. Just as we can talk ourselves into being ill, we can frighten ourselves into believing that bad luck and illness will befall us. If we believe we are unlucky, we may inevitably attract bad luck into our lives and curses may only succeed because the victim believes in their power.
Most people find out that they are jinxed through word of mouth or when a “friend” tells them that a spell has been put upon them. Let’s face it, people love to gossip and soon the belief in the jinx is reinforced by the community at large. Inevitably, as soon as something untoward happens to the victim, the jinx is to blame. They may lose their keys or a credit card and immediately they remember what the friend told them. And so the cycle of fear begins.
Worse still, a hideous token, gris-gris, amulet, or charm may be posted to them or hung on their door to warn them that magic has been cast. A hoodoo sorcerer may nail a gruesome chicken bone amulet on your front door and cover your steps in blood-red powder. In some countries, it is traditional to spit or blow powder in the victims face while speaking the words of the curse. This shock technique reinforces the power of the curse, taking the victim, as it does, off guard and naturally causes a severe upset.
Curses and a Jinx
REMOVING A CURSE | REMOVING A HEX |
“Protection comes to me this day . This crossed condition goes away. Returning negativity To the one who has crossed me.” –Hoodoo Candle Spell
There are as many ways to remove a curse or spell as there are ways to cast them, and these vary according to the cultural tradition. Remaining with the hoodoo theme, the belief is that curses should be “sent back” to the perpetrator. A popular way of doing this is to scatter Angelica in the direction of the curse, or to the South if the sorcerer is known. Similarly, Five Finger Grass (Cinquefoil) can be stuffed into a drained egg which is then sealed with wax. It is believed in New Orléans that a home with this magical egg in it will be free of jinx and curses.
Followers of hoodoo also like to take special herbal baths made with Dragon’s Blood, Five Finger Grass, Ginger, or Pine and Hyssop to protect them from sorcery. Herbs and special powders are also used by the secret “red sects” from Haiti to induce illness and fear in their victims. One pinch of these secret recipes is said to bring bad luck or illness. Similarly, this tradition holds that herbal baths may be used to combat an evil hex and also to bring luck in love and money.
Bath-time food offerings are made to the spirits of Ezili Freda (love) or Ibo Lele (money) and may include everything from popcorn to the blood of sacrificed animals. (I would try this technique myself, but am concerned that my wife would be a little alarmed to see chicken heads among the talc and soaps.)
REMOVING CURSES
Haitian voodoo has an armoury of amulets, totems, and tools to protect the soul. Malicious spirits are countered using an ason rattle made from a gourd and containing snake vertebrae. Music and dances are used to counterspells, and many of these ceremonies involve Catholic saints in the rituals. Most Haitian altars, in particular, include a mixture of both voodoo and Catholic imagery, with icons of saints placed next to tribal gods. Altars also include magical drawings of “verve” designs, which are made during ceremonies as an aid to draw the protective spirits from their divine homeland to the mortal world.
They look very similar to western protective talismans. But perhaps some of the odd tools of voodoo priests are dolls heads that they squash into bottles to ward off evil spirits and sequined bottles decorated with a skull motif of the Gede spirits (the guardians of the dead and masters of the libido). One strange protective totem, created by Franz Barra, featured a Barbie doll squeezed into a miniature, red-sequined coffin.
The Evil Eye
Voodoo and hoodoo are, of course, not alone in giving strange surreal remedies to protect the soul from curses and spells. Many believe that the soul can be harmed by a jealous stare or envious glance. The eyes are considered “the gateway to the soul” and, in many cultures, the “evil eye” is believed to harm the soul. It is one of the oldest and most culturally prevalent magical beliefs in the world.
The evil eye is believed to cause miscarriage, illness, business failure, marriage breakdown, bad luck, and a great many misfortunes. In addition, anyone, including those who have no special powers, can give the evil eye. Since it happens involuntarily, no one can be certain who or where the evil came from, making this one of the most feared of all magical powers.
People with different colored eyes or eyes set close together or deep in their head were often suspected of having the Evil Eye and were often persecuted as witches from the sixteenth to eighteenth century. In the 1930s, a man from New York earned his living by renting his evil eye to prize-fight managers. He would sit ringside and stare at opposing fighter.
Averting the Evil Eye
There are hundreds of ways to avert the Evil Eye. One of the most immediate techniques, and not recommended for dinner parties, is to spit three times in the eye of the onlooker. Another is to step aside, if someone is staring at you, so letting the negativity pass you by. The Italians wear special amulets of hands making sexually symbolic gestures for protection from the evil eye: called the mano fico (‘fig hand) or the mano corunto (horned hand).
In most cultures, the cure involves a complex series of rituals, which vary around the world. Water, oil, and melted wax often play a part, or the ritual may center on an eye-shaped and liquid-filled natural object such as an egg. Animals that were supposedly affected by the Evil Eye were burned, whereupon the person who had made the curse would suffer the same agony. Similarly, a clay manikin, or witch puppet, made in the likeness of the suspect person with the Evil Eye would be stuck with pins to lift the spell.
Naturally, I have always believed these things to be hocus-pocus; that is, until my Israeli friend brought us a present from his homeland. He knew we had had trouble with a neighbor so gave us an ornate hand in the “stop” gesture with an eye in the palm. “This will avert the evil eye of the bad woman,” he said. “It’s good. Hang it up in the front of your house and you will have no more trouble.” Within three months, the bad neighbor had moved.
Profits of the Prophets
“Praying is like a rocking chair–it’ll give you something to do, but it won’t get you anywhere.” — GYPSY ROSE LEE (Rose Louise Hovick, American stripper)
Many claim that sympathetic magic is “mumbo jumbo,” that results can be explained away. This is no doubt true in some instances, but there are also times when such magic appears to have worked. Yes, belief alone may be enough to cure some people or fulfill a spell’s curse. But there are cases on record that contradict that scenario–where people appear to falter even though they are unaware a curse has been placed on them. Nonetheless, common sense is the primary ingredient in spiritual ventures, particularly in relation to magic and the healing arts.
Magic Snake Stone
Some people believe that snake bite calls for treatment by “magic snake stone,” which is, in reality, no more than benzine or a gallstone, having no effect on the venomous bite. Clearly, if a snake-bitten person were to rely on such magic in this instance, consequences could be fatal.
Sadly, charlatans still exist today to take advantage of those who are gullible and superstitious. Often this is the case with those who are upset about the break-up of a relationship: they will do, or pay, anything to get their partner back! A common scam is promising to change your luck by lifting a curse or a jinx or removing “negativity from your aura.”
Through my columns and website, I have received many letters from people frightened by threats of a curse that they are told can only be removed if they pay money. These “psychics” often target people who are already fearful, having met “bad luck” in their lives. The fraud psychic have good observational skills and is able to give the sitter with enough apparent information to convince them that what they say is true. They are alert to facial reactions and bodily gestures, and incorporate feedback information likely mentioned earlier in the sitting or consultation or hinted at in a response.
Once the sitter is hooked with this “cold reading,” the charlatan may offer to change the person’s luck for a price. I know of someone who was quoted $3,000 to have bad luck lifted from their lives. For this fee, the “psychic” would burn a magic candle to clear the misfortune. However, she warned that, as the case was particularly bad, it might be necessary to burn more candles. Of course, this would cause added costs, for the magic candles and her services.
Negative Energy Curses
A real curse is a set of words or a ritual that has been imbued with the negative energy of a thought-form. A curse cannot harm us unless we allow it to, by giving the negative energy an entry point. Certainly, paying money to someone else will not remove negative energy, nor will having rituals performed on your behalf. The key to protection from real curses come from your own refusal to give in to superstition and unfounded fear. Just as money can’t buy you, love, giving money to such people cannot change your luck or make you well again. People often incur such problems when they do not generally take personal responsibility for their lives.
They tend to go to a fortune-teller because they want someone else to make the hard choices for them. It is much easier to blame things outside of ourselves for our troubles. We accuse others, instead of owning up to our own faults. We blame circumstances and people for troubles that are of our own making. And, of course, many of us blame our bad luck on fate. How much better it is to take charge of our own lives! Personal responsibility gives a person self-confidence and a realistic view of circumstances.
The role of the true psychic is to give insight and inspire, not to make decisions for you. A psychic can encourage you, and even empower you to take charge of your destiny. To do something about it! So, take my advice: If you are ever asked for money to remove a curse or a spell, to regain health, to bring back a lover, or to change your luck, leave immediately and don’t look back!

it will take more than common sense
WHO: Kitty Wilde ( @wildevvitch ) & Matt Rutherford.
WHAT: Kitty and Matt run each other at Undique. They fight, and there is an unexpected break.
WHEN: Friday, 26 April 2019.
WHERE: Undique Stadium.
WARNINGS: Classic Kitty warnings. Racism, violence, homophobia, injuries, mentions of manipulation.
Matt is getting ready to do some training, making sure he's carrying a water bottle and sports towels for later. The past couple weeks have been going... pretty alright, even if he's sort of afraid to admit it out loud. It's like, if he says it, the Aether will find a way to balance it out and just give him some more shit to deal with. So he's been cautious, trying not to enjoy himself too much.... but apparently, even thinking about his good mood attracts negativity. A flash of blond hair catches his eye, and he turns, hoping to see Quinn, or even Sam, but instead... finds Kitty. He openly rolls his eyes and groans, putting his hands in his pockets. "What? Aren't you too busy trying to put collars on people to hang out at Undique?"
Kitty laughed in the loser named Matt Rutherford's face. "Collars are so last November. I'm helping werewolves now regain their humanity as my mission to the Big Man on top." She pressed her manicured hands to pray to Jesus. "I'm not hanging out here. I'm scoping whether or not the Sirens are worthy of moi." Kitty circled around Matt like a tigress and smirked at seeing him so uncomfortable. "Where are your friends? I don't see them around... Oh wait totes forgot. They're disgusting witch hunting Malleys now. Is that what you're doing too? Spying on us real witches, Dumpel?"
Matt narrows his eyes. "You can't do that shit. No one can. You're not actually God, Kitty." He's suddenly nervous, though, and thinks they should probably look into what can be done, and how bad it could be. If there was a way to make it painful, he thinks Kitty would use that. Matt ignores her comment about the Sirens and straightens his back when she starts circling around him, wishing it had no effect on him, but Aether, it does. At the mention of Yejun, his fist clenches, the nails digging into his skin. He remembers what Santana told him about her, about Tina. "Yeah, Kitty. That's what I'm doing. Why? You got something to hide?" Ah, shit. He shouldn't have said that. He shoves away the retort that surfaces next. "You know, for someone that talks about smiting all the time, you got a fuckton of bark but not a lot of bite." The fuck is happening to him? The second Kitty showed up, it's like his anger was turned up to 150%.
"Oh who said I was God? I do what He wills and He wills us Christians to be the masters of all animals on His bountiful earth." Kitty's face shone with patriotic pride as she stared up at Matt. The CWA needed a new project since the members were getting very restless and petty lately. They had been bickering among themselves. Kitty knew a refocused strategy was what the club needed for unity. Alena, her familiar, swam inside the small water jug Kitty had slung on her arm. She gasped when Matt confessed. Jesus I've done it! Kitty thought and pointed at Matt. Commanding his atrocious behavior. "Clean out your damn mouth, Matthew. The Heavenly Father might let you into purgatory to amend your sinful existence if you repent how unholy you are." Kitty was ready to pull the purifying salts from her secret hiding place.
Matt wanted to punch her. He didn't, but Aether, he wanted to. "That sounds like bullshit," he said, shrugging, trying to come across as nonchalant. Kitty gasps when he implies she's in the closet, and he thinks maybe he sank a bit too low. It doesn't matter though, because she opens her mouth again and his chest tightens once again. "What? You want me to clean out my fucking mouth? Does this shit bother you? Unholy fucking words? At least I don't have to resort to threatening to take someone's control to feel fucking powerful," he says, ignorant to Kitty's intentions.
Kitty laughed at Matt's reaction and smirked. "Cheese and rice, when will you heathens understand. I am powerful. The Lord picked me to be powerful." Kitty dug into her shirt and pulled out the shards of cleansed salt to sprinkle in front of Matt's face. She summoned her magic circle. Heavenly Father, I’m but your humble servant, lend me your power. Fill your holy vessel with your magnificence, cleanse this unholy magic!
BOT: Kitty 😼: 1d7 = (6) = 6
BOT: Matt 👥: 1d7+2 = (2)+2 = 4
Matt starts to say something back to Kitty when she pulls out some dust, some of which manages to land on his mouth, but that's nothing compared to the shock of the spell hitting him. "What the fuck," he exclaims, and laughs bitterly. "What? We're doing this shit?" Taking a second to focus, he summons Sydney, and reaches into his bag to pull out a mojo back, which he squeezes until there are specks of cayenne floating out of it. <<She thinks she's the shit, but Goofer knows she's full of shit, >> he casts, and Sydney breathes out a stream of cayenne towards Kitty.
BOT: Matt 👥: 1d7+3 = (4)+3 = 7
BOT: Kitty 😼: 1d7 + 1d10 = (1) + (7) = 8
Kitty said back with glee. "Yes, we're doing this." Alena sighed and swam disapprovingly in a circle in the jug. So the doppel had a new trick did he. Kitty had some too. "Alena! Come on!" She ordered her juvenile angelfish and Alena let out a spew of unhappy bubbles but she followed Kitty's command. Soul Armament! Kitty cast her spell and opened the jug, spraying the water out and sending Alena out. Her fish shone in a burst of light and Kitty pulled out a shiny glaive to swipe through Matt's dumb spicy magic. Kitty hated spicy. "Goofer goofed up." Kitty growled.
BOT: Kitty 😼: 1d7 + 1d10 = (4) + (5) = 9
BOT: Matt 👥: 1d7+2 = (7)+2 = 9
Kitty decided to test her glaive out before getting serious. She splashed a small amount of water at Matt's face. "Repent." She ordered Matt. "Come to the light, Mathieu." She said his name in French to make it sound snobbier. This was fun. This was going to be a trophy win for the Lord.
Matt watched as Kitty's familiar transformed into a weapon and hit him once, and then just sort of sadly spat some water on his face. "What the fuck is your deal? Have you ever stopped to think for yourself, you insufferable little racist?" He scoffs at her. "What do I have to repent for? I'm fucking curious." Reaching in for another mojo bag, the one with the chicken painted on it, he dipped his thumb inside it, and spread the dust in a line from the bottom of his neck upward, as Sydney started hopping around him over and over. <<Headless chickens run in circles, headless chickens, fuck her up.>>
BOT: Matt 👥: 2d7+2 = (7+6)+2 = 15
BOT: Kitty 😼: (1d7 + 1d10)*2 = ((3) + (6))*2 = 18
Kitty was surprised Matt didn't know her mission. She had been so clear. God had made it clear for her. "The Lord is the only true way. It's written in the Bible. No one shall put any other power before the Lord. I was born to serve His Will, and that means destroying the worship of false idols." She smirked at Matt's bags and his stupid spells. He thinks that will stop me? Heavenly Father, I’m but your humble servant, lend me your power. Fill your holy vessel with your magnificence, freeze and purify the sinner! Kitty shouted and swung her glaive wildly. The water around Matt shot up following Kitty's glaive and then in an instant froze solid to strike into Matt and Sydney like spikes.
BOT: Kitty 😼: (1d7 + 1d10)*2 = ((7) + (9))*2 = 32
Matt starts to argue, when a shield materializes in front of Kitty and her weapon. He takes a step back, and dismisses Sydney back into her tattoo. She doesn't need to see him whacking at that thing like he's chipping away at an iceberg. "What the fuck is a false idol? And does your god tell you you have to be a fucking dickhead to serve his ass?" Picking up a pair of ugly glasses, he grabs a handful of Goofer Dust, and tries to thin out the barrier between them. <<Fuck that up?>> he casts, almost like a question.
BOT: Matt 👥: 1d7+4 = ((7)+4)/2 = 5.5
Matt laughs, shaking his head. "Who? Elliott? Is he that important to you that you think being his friend is worshipping him?" He wipes off the excess dust off his hands, and prepares his next spell, rolling a sigil between his fingers. "You're no one to correct a man that does more good for everyone than you could ever do. And it's fucking sad. Maybe if you had a mind of your own, you'd be less of a fucking bigot." The paper between his fingers is tiny now, and he mimes throwing a dart at the shield. <<Forces of hoodoo, break apart the shield around.>>
BOT: Matt 👥: 1d7+2 = ((6)+2)/2 = 4
BOT: Kitty 😼: 1d0 = (0) = 0
Kitty rolled her eyes and swore under her breath, "To hell with it, you guys need a re-education on the vileness of demons. The nameless and faceless lameities which give you your magic are nothing but soothsaying demons, you foolish fool!" She crossed her arms and gave Matt a bitchy staredown. It pained Kitty to admit Matt's last words stung. The last time she had a mind of her own, she had been punished by the Lord. She had been deemed foul by her own parents. "What does this fake witch know about a mind of one's own, Lord?" She asked the Heavenly Father loud enough for Matt to hear. Then she clasped both hands around her cross pendant. It was time to end this. Heavenly Father, I’m but your humble servant, lend me your power. Fill your holy vessel with your magnificence, let my spirit be yours, my body nothing, let it bear all wounds, all pain, all death, for my place is with you in Heaven, shed me of this mortal sin…
Kitty felt the power of the Lord flowing inside her. This was what God wanted. To make sure every sinner knew he wouldn't forgive them unless they admitted to their wrongdoing. The blinding white light shone from her body and Kitty grabbed her soul armament. She was aiming her glaive straight at Matt. No, Kitty, this is wrong! Kitty heard Alena in her head and the handle beneath her hand was swirling like rough waves. 'Aleana, stay put!' Kitty grabbed the glaive with both handles. Why was her familiar freaking out now? This isn't what our power should be used for, please, you know that! The glaive was shaking in Kitty's grasp. 'Our power?Don't think so highly of ourselves. This is God's power and you LISTEN to me, you dumb fish!' Kitty broke through Alena's struggle and forced the glaive to swing just as the holy energy burst from her. And let my body burn up in your light of Justice, oh Heavenly Father! Kitty shouted, shooting the light from the glaive's crystal tip with a mighty swing. Kitty's vision flooded with white after she saw the tip of her weapon crack before the soul armament exploded in small shards and disappeared into the aether.
Matt shakes his head. "No, our demons look more like you, you foolish fool," he mocks, trying to reflect Kitty's glare, but if it's purposeful he just kind of feels like it's dumb as fuck. He would've found something to hang on to when Kitty maybe reacted to his retort, but hers was a punch in the gut. Is he his own person? Will he ever be more than a ghost, a shadow? "Oh fuck off--" he starts, but interrupts himself as Kitty begins to cast. He has a bad feeling about it, and his stomach coils into itself. He thinks to cover himself with his hands as a beam of light hits him, and agony burns through his stomach, his chest, his throat, before the white turns black. His legs buckle underneath him and he falls, unconscious.
Kitty coughed as she wobbled up to stand. Her arms were covered in black soot and she felt like she did 700 cartwheels in 2 minutes. "Alena, come out." Kitty called out. But there was no response. Kitty sniffed and stopped because even breathing hurt. "Whatevs, be a pouty bitch! Like I care! Stupid fish." Kitty muttered under her breath and grinned when she saw the lump in the distance. That used to be Matt Rutherford. 'See? See how strong I am, Lord? See how never question Your will?' Kitty wondered if God was watching. If God would finally show her that He was listening and cared about her. She was walking past the doppelganger and saw he was passed out. Kitty looked around. There was still no one. "Ugh. Don't you have someone coming to check in with you?" She asked. Matt of course didn't say anything back that unconscious jerk. "Alena, come on, we need to help this doofus." She called out to her familiar. Still no reply.
BOT: Kitty 😼: 1d36 healing Matt = (11) = 11
Kitty extended her hand over Matt's head so he'd at least wake up. Because it was weird to leave someone unconscious. That was it. Heavenly Father, I’m but your humble servant, lend me your power. Fill your holy vessel with your magnificence. Mend his body. Bring his mind back. She saw some of the wounds on Matt close up. "There, you happy now?" She was asking Alena. But there was no reply from the juvenile angelfish. 'Cheese and rice, you hold a grudge.' Kitty thought. After healing, Kitty limped away. She'd have to go heal herself later when Alena came back.
Matt took in a sharp breath, and found that everything hurt. Groaning, he pushed himself up so he was sitting, and muttered a reply akin to 'I'm happy I'm fucking alive,' before blinking a couple times. When his vision came back to focus, he pushed himself up, and realized that Kitty was gone. "Tina deserves way better than her," he mumbled under his breath, then summoning Sydney back into this plane. "C'mon. I gotta get myself to Penny. Better check if I'm really curse-free while I'm there."

Embracing My Spirituality doesn't Mean I've Strayed from God
The fact that I even need to write this is astounding. I’m realizing that spirituality is soooo taboo and people aren’t really sure what it is. But with that comes a lot of ignorance – including people alluding to devil worship. *Eye roll* But Embracing My Spirituality doesn’t Mean that I’ve strayed from God in any form or fashion. My relationship with God runs deep. I’m not even sure how the devil worship even became a thing or an assumption.
Disclaimer** If you are easily offended it may be time for you to bounce that aaaaa*** because I definitely need to set the record straight, and if you’re offended.. I won’t apologize.
Embracing My Spirituality doesn’t Mean that I’ve Strayed from God
The fact that this needs to be said, is a problem within itself. I pray, everyday and I give thanks daily. Just because i chose a different way to follow God doesn’t mean that I’ve strayed. No, I may not sit in a church every Sunday, but I am finding ways to honor God in my day to day life. I meditate, practice yoga & reiki. I mind my everyday business and I genuinely just try to be the best version of myself, everyday. And I don’t see the problem. My aim is for more peace & light within myself as I navigate through life.
What does sage& crystals have to do with it?
Sage & crystals somehow make you a devil worshipper. I’m definitely uncertain of how this analogy makes sense. Incense are burned during most church services & I don’t see anyone crying devil worship from the pews. I don’t see questions being raised about that or any questions from those in service.. Yet, the fact that I burn incense bothers you… But you don’t live in my home or partake in anything that I do for myself so why would this affect you?
The main reason I burn any of these things is to cleanse myself & my space of negative energy. I just want to be able to enter a room and sit with myself during meditation or prayer & just be. I love entering a room where the balance has been restored and it’s peaceful. Just mind your business and don’t touch my things. Your energy is gross and I really don’t need that sticking to me in any form. I’m just over here connecting to my higher self, seeking a sense of peace and happiness within myself and just bliss. I deserve bliss….
Using religion to back negativity and ignorance doesn’t help you
If you genuinely don’t understand someone’s “way of life”, there are ways to either ask or research for yourself. But linking everything that you don’t understand or you’re unaware of to evil, is beyond ignorant. Not everyone is trying to be a “witch” or practice voodoo, hoodoo or whatever else you picked up from TV. We allllll loved Coven but not everyone is out here trying to Marie Laveau, even though she was definitely a bad bihhhh… Most people, still listen to a great gospel song, meditate, align their chakras & stillllll make it to Sunday service to worship. But I guess ignorance is bliss. You want to believe so bad that the woman connecting to her roots is the devil or up to no good. You choose to believe that crystal use is of the devil and more. It’s the most backwards yet judgmental thing I’ve ever heard.
Plus, being spiritual just means that you aren’t tied to a specific religion, it doesn’t make you a Satanist or an Atheist. So relax, mind your business and make sure that YOU are living a life that God will be proud of. Ya’ll worry entirely about the wrong things. Focus on yourself, and what you’re building and teaching your children. Focus on your relationship with God and if you truly have one verses just going through the motions. Do not ask me about devil worship, because I don’t know anything about that. I don’t practice it. I’m not a meditation away from that, and It’s just not in my nature or spirit to do so.
Just Mind Your Business
Let me glow up. Everyone is attracted to the peace. the light and good vibes. And that’s cool and all, however, minding your business is in your best interest. Stop judging my life from a distance, sending me Bullsh** memes and using it as a Segway to ask if its true. Don’t worry about how I find peace or positives in crap situations. And if I’m truly going through what I am going through because my energy doesn’t show signs of struggle. It takes work, to see the positives in life and in every situation. It takes a whole lot of God and all of the light placed within the universe to function at a high frequency. God blesses me immensely and I’m beyond grateful. There is no devil here.

Witches are about to handle this shit.
Tonight.: A Spell to Bind Donald Trump and All Those Who Abet Him: February 24th Mass Ritual
via ExtraNewsfeed
michaelmhughes
This document has been making the rounds in a number of magical groups both secretive and public. It was allegedly created by a member of a private magical order who wishes to remain anonymous. I make no claims about its efficacy, and several people have noted it can be viewed as more of a mass art/consciousness-raising project (similar to the 1967 exorcism and levitation of the Pentagon), than an actual magical working. But many are clearly taking it very seriously.
I have been receiving a number of suggestions and variants for this ritual, and have posted some of them at the end.
UPDATE February 24: Media inquiries: please email bindtrump@gmailcom.
UPDATE: There is now a Facebook page where participants can share their suggestions, photos, videos, etc. I am a bit overwhelmed with media inquiries at this point, so won’t be able to comment much there and have a team of moderators keeping things under control.
UPDATE February 22: A number of news organizations are looking to interview people taking part in the ritual and to film or photograph any group workings, especially in NYC, Portland, and SF. I suggest posting to the Facebook page, indicating you are interested in being filmed or interviewed, your location, and the best way to reach you.
A Spell to Bind Donald Trump and All Those Who Abet Him (version 2.0)
To be performed at midnight on every waning crescent moon until he is removed from office. The first ritual takes place Friday evening, February 24th, at the stroke of midnight. This binding spell is open source, and may be modified to fit your preferred spiritual practice or magical system — the critical elements are the simultaneity of the working (midnight, EST—DC, Mar-a-Lago, and Trump Tower NYC time) and the mass energy of participants.
See below for the upcoming dates. Some lodges/covens are doing a variation of this as a group working, while a number of solitary practitioners are planning to connect and livestream via Facebook, Twitter, and other social media.
Components:
Unflattering photo of Trump (small); see below for one you can print
Tower tarot card (from any deck)
Tiny stub of an orange candle (cheap via Amazon)
Pin or small nail (to inscribe candle)
White candle (any size), representing the element of Fire
Small bowl of water, representing elemental Water
Small bowl of salt, representing elemental Earth
Feather (any), representing the element of Air
Matches or lighter
Ashtray or dish of sand
Optional:
Piece of pyrite (fool’s gold)
Sulfur
Black thread (for traditional binding variant)
Baby carrot (as substitute for orange candle stub)
Preparation:
Write “Donald J. Trump” on the orange candle stub with a pin or nail
Arrange other items in a pleasing circle in front of you
Lean the Tower card against something so that it’s standing up (vertically)
Say a prayer for protection and invoke blessing from your preferred spirit or deity. Reading the 23rd Psalm aloud is common in Hoodoo/Conjure/Rootwork traditions. Experienced magicians may perform an appropriate banishing ritual.
RITUAL
(v. 2.2)
(Light white candle)
Hear me, oh spirits Of Water, Earth, Fire, and Air Heavenly hosts Demons of the infernal realms And spirits of the ancestors
(Light inscribed orange candle stub)
I call upon you To bind Donald J. Trump So that his malignant works may fail utterly That he may do no harm To any human soul Nor any tree Animal Rock Stream or Sea
Bind him so that he shall not break our polity Usurp our liberty Or fill our minds with hate, confusion, fear, or despair And bind, too, All those who enable his wickedness And those whose mouths speak his poisonous lies
I beseech thee, spirits, bind all of them As with chains of iron Bind their malicious tongues Strike down their towers of vanity
(Invert Tower tarot card)
I beseech thee in my name (Say your full name) In the name of all who walk Crawl, swim, or fly Of all the trees, the forests, Streams, deserts, Rivers and seas In the name of Justice And Liberty And Love And Equality And Peace
Bind them in chains Bind their tongues Bind their works Bind their wickedness
(Light the small photo of Trump from the flame of the orange candle stub and hold carefully above the ashtray)
(Speak the following loudly and with increasing passion as the photo burns to ashes)
So mote it be! So mote it be! So mote it be!
(Blow out orange candle, visualizing Trump blowing apart into dust or ash*)
(Pinch or snuff out the white candle, ending the ritual)
Grounding and Disposal
Afterward, ground yourself by having a good, hearty laugh, jumping up and down, clapping your hands, stomping your feet, and having a bite to eat. Grounding is very important—don’t neglect it. And remember—he hates people laughing at him.
Finally, bury the orange candle stub or discard it at a crossroads or in running water.
VARIANTS
Alternate Closing: After you’ve visualized Trump’s energy dissipating, gaze at the white candle flame for a few moments, close your eyes, and imagine a bright light emerging from the darkness and gradually being revealed as the flaming torch of the Statue of Liberty. The light from the torch then brightens intensely, expanding into infinity and burning away all darkness. After a few moments, open your eyes, ground yourself, and pinch or snuff out the white candle, closing the ritual. You can also leave it burning until it is fully extinguished.
Traditional Binding Variant: This variant was contributed by a rootworker, and incorporates a more traditional form of binding magic. In place of burning the photo, the magician ties the photo to the orange candle with black thread. As you are wrapping the thread around the photo and candle, say “I bind you” three times. You may also tie knots in the thread. Then the whole package is buried or, as the contributor suggested, “Leave it outside a Trump hotel.”
The Use-His-Pet-Phrase-Against-Him Variant: In place of “So mote it be,” instead say, “You’re fired!” with increasing vehemence. This should be particularly beautiful as the flames consume his image.
Baby Carrot Substitution: For those who can’t acquire an orange candle stub, Frater SHUF suggests using a baby carrot (and lighting the photo from the white candle).
Alternate Closing for Group Rituals: Many group rituals are done in a call-and-response style. The leader may end with:
“Our ritual has ended, brothers and sisters. May we go in peace, harming none, and continue our magical resistance under each waning crescent moon until Donald J. Trump is driven from office.”
To witch the participants reply (with emotion): “So mote it be!”
Waning Crescent Moon Ritual Dates:
February 24th (Midnight, Friday evening into Saturday morning); March 26th; April 24th; May 23rd; June 21st (especially important as it is the summer solstice); July 21st; August 19th; etc.

Addendum and FAQs
Notes on Binding Spells vs. Curses: Is This Dangerous/Harmful?
Binding spells, or defixiones, are some of the oldest in the historical record, and are nearly universal in the world’s magical systems. In this document, binding, which seeks to restrain someone from doing harm, is differentiated from cursing or hexing, which is meant to inflict harm on the target(s). It is understood, in this context, that binding does not generate the potential negative blowback from cursing/hexing/crossing, nor does it harm the caster’s karma.
In other words, this is not the equivalent of magically punching a Nazi; rather, it is ripping the bullhorn from his hands, smashing his phone so he can’t tweet, tying him up, and throwing him in a dark basement where he can’t hurt anyone.
The spell in this document was carefully crafted, in structure and language, to avoid unintended psychic consequences, but adding a prayer and invoking the blessing of your preferred deity(s) should not be neglected.
Another added benefit: this working has an embedded self-exorcism. Just peforming it will result in a lightening of the spirit, an easing of tension, and a banishing of the gnawing Trumpian egregore. And who doesn’t need that?
Finally: The threat from Trump and his cabal is enormous, not just to individuals, but to the collective body and spirit. Be bold! Say the words with ferocious intensity and feel them!
On the Ritual Phrase “So Mote it Be”
A number of respondents have suggested “so mote it be” is too Wiccan-ish for their tastes. It should be noted that the phrase originated in Freemasonry long before it was adopted by witches and neopagans. If it grates, any similar phrasing would work—amen, let it be so, so say we all, etc.
What Kind of Magic is This Anyway?
The kind of magic that works, based on the template that underlies every functional magic system, from ancient Egyptian to contemporary chaos practices. Some Christian folk traditions, in fact, both Catholic and Protestant, employ similar methods. Adherents of any formal system should be able to tweak the above ritual to suit their practice.
You really think this might work? Has anyone ever done anything like this?
Ever heard of the Magical Battle of Britain? There’s a book about it. And in 1941, author and occultist William Seabrook and a group of young people in Maryland performed a ritual to “kill Adolf Hitler by voodoo incantation.” I was also just made aware of the Center for Tactical Magic. Also, the burning of effigies, common to political protests, is considered a very simple but potent form of magic.
You’re Kidding, Right?
Why don’t you try it and find out for yourself?
But suppose it works? Then we have Pence!
One step at a time, please :-)
