It felt good to be in a suit again and the night reminded Gabriel of his first taste of luxury thanks to the Kelly family. It was impressive how far and wide their power touched and he’d be lying if he said the feeling of belonging to something didn’t make him happy. Seeing his old friend, Gabe approached after Odessa left his side for a moment but he was oblivious that she was still within earshot. “I thought I was going to be your plus one.” he laughed, tapping Finn’s shoulder kindly and passing over a drink. “People are gonna start talking, Finn. First wondering when our wedding is and then you turning up with a pretty younger model? Not a good look.”

Margaret wandered down to the kitchens with her head stuck in her lady’s magazine. One of the regular columnists whom Margaret adored had made a rather sweet suggestion about a new dining arrangement that had piqued her interest.

Her heels clicked on the stone steps as she descended. Unknown to her, staff scurried out of her way, casting nervous glances behind them as they did so. Margaret was no ogre of St. Maur, but she was perhaps a little more imperious than she needed to be. She at last looked up from her magazine and walked into the massive kitchen, which was resplendent with copper pots and pans, clean white tiles, and flagstone floors, all of which Signore Leone cared for immaculately.

“Ciao! Signore Leone!” Margaret peered around the kitchen; a pair of scullery maids squeaked and continued scrubbing potatoes in earnest. Ignoring them, Margaret frowned and called: “Voglio parlarti di una cena che terrò domani sera. Pronto, Signore?”

“So I need you to promise you’re not going to be mad.” Mia had been bored out of her mind for weeks now - there was no question about that. She had been spending more time training than anything else, making trick arrows that she really barely had opportunity to use considering she wasn’t allowed out on patrols. There was only so much training she could do, or so she was finding. It had been fine at first, but now she was looking for something else. Anything else. Anything that wasn’t diving head first back into a bottle of whiskey, anyway. She was trying her best on that, even if her success was still nothing to boast. So a project sounded great. Something to keep her mind busy, occupied. So a project she found in making Ted a Tinder profile and already doing much of the swiping for him.
