Omg yes he does :(( He's so addicted to you, never keeping his hands to himself. He doesn't care if it's only holding your hand or making you his, he loves to be close. Sitting on his lap and cuddling into his chest would be the death of him. Oh, he'd love it so much :((

— How would Silas feel about a motherly type of darling? When he comes home from missions injured she absolutely insists on attending his wounds. And when he's sick, she takes care of him, nursing him back to health. She can't just stand by and watch someone else suffer after all!

He'd love it so much! He'd fall for you so badly. If you had any chance to escape before, now there's none. He'll watch over you like a hawk. He knows he doesn't deserve a kind soul like you, but he's so selfish that he'll keep you for himself.

"Thank you so much, baby, but, ouch, you shouldn't ... shouldn't do this. You shouldn't patch me up. I know you want to take care of me, but that's my job! I should take care of you, baby. Not the other way around. But ... thank you so much ... I love you."

— What would happen if reader died or became seriously ill after Silas puts them in the basement for a while?

He'll be so sad and regret everything he's ever done. If you survive, he'll be much, much more careful. He'll never do that again. He nearly lost you! Silas can't imagine a life without you.

But if you died ... he'd break apart.

— Gosh seeing how Silas reacted to darling being sick. But like when it comes to me. I can alread imagine how he would be. Cause my immune system sicks I get sick easily...Then there's the fact that I'm clumsy af, I always have random bruises or cuts and don't notice them until I'm in the bath.

Silas would be in constant stress, my friend. You'd give him a heart attack.

— When Silas says he's gonna torture us as punishment at the end of "You Can't Hide From Me" What kind of torture? Like physical, psychological, etc?

I wanted to leave that up to the readers interpretation, but I thought maybe some kind of psychological. When he says that he'll make them know only him, he'll break them down until they don't remember anything but him. He'll destroy them.

Let's say around ten. He's been out and about, tried different things here and there, but nowadays, he only wants you. And he makes sure you know that with how far beyond he'll take you :]

— How many people has Silas killed?

Maybe around thirty? He does half the dirty work himself and half he sends out his men to do.

I have so much to say about Album so I’m just going to start typing and see where it goes.

This drawing is based on The Protector, which is,,,,,, aaaaaa. Jason Sweettooth Williams does really amazing, he conveys the emotion so well in this recording, it's insane. Also the music is so good. Literally gives me shivers. 

In my understanding this song is about a father who had some bad experiences in his childhood when he tried to seek comfort in various unhealthy coping mechanisms, and he doesn’t want his kid to go through the same thing so he tries to make sure they feel safe. Because the ‘protector’ that they need isn’t someone to fight off bad guys, it’s someone who will make sure they feels safe and loved and cared for, to protect them from what they might do to themselves. But the father hasn’t quite figured this out, he gets close to understanding in the song, but he’s still so scared and desperately doing everything he can to protect his child. Like telling them to avoid certain places - presumably places where he has had bad experiences. But it wasn’t because the places are dangerous, it was because he was vulnerable as a kid and didn’t have someone to help him navigate the world. The main thing is that he wants the child to know that he will always protect them, no matter what. 

This a bit vague but point is this song is really good and listening to it has had an effect on me. Thank you Joe Iconis thank you Jason Sweettooth Williams.

S1 DVD Extras / Commentary - hmmm....just watched this from the library, and they are even describing the Carrie/Brody relationship as based on mutual need, not real love, of two damaged people. I wish I had watched these DVD extras all along because I would have interpreted the C&Q relationship very differently and maybe not have been so unexpectedly crushed. Maybe the HL creators don't believe in real love - just mutual need?

Anonymous #2: S1 DVD Extra: I believe it is in the pilot commentary where I heard Alex/Gordon talking about how the Carrie character did not originally have bipolar but Showtime told them to make her a "cable character". Hmmm. How much say does Showtime have in character arcs and what exactly is a "Cable Character"? Is that a darker character that they think cable viewers want? Is this part of why HL characters are in utter despair?

Carrie did love Brody IMO but in a way that I felt like the writers were chastising her for doing so. It wasn’t pure love, it was in many ways based off selfish need. That was always clear to me, and I would have picked up on that without the writers, producers, or actors saying so (e.g., “Don’t put that on me, it’s a fantasy!” and Saul telling Carrie to forget him... the writing was really on the wall there). 

I never expected Carrie and Quinn to get a happy ending. But there is a very wide gulf between happy ending and what we got at the end of season six. 

Re: “cable character” -- I always interpreted this as Showtime needing an actual diagnosis to account for Carrie’s behavior (Showtime had a history of older female characters with actual diagnoses: Nurse Jackie was an addict, United States of Tara was multiple personality disorder, I’m sure there are others but these came immediately to mind). The way AG + HG tell the story is that they wrote all the symptoms of Carrie being someone who could have been bipolar and then stumbled onto the diagnosis “officially.” I think being on premium cable probably does afford them a bit more room in telling a darker story. They don’t need to tell something with built-in mainstream appeal (and Carrie is decidedly not a character with mainstream appeal lbr).
