Name: Min/Minerva Fandom: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Age: 28 Occupation: Adventurer/Professional Thief Species: Changeling Gender: Genderfluid (they/them pronouns as Min, she/her pronouns as Minerva) Significant Other: Brynjolf Family: She adopts both Alesan (from Dawnstar) and Sofie (from Windhelm) Physical Description: In their true form, they has very blank, totally white features. Their skin is a milky white, as is their hair and eyes. Around their eyes, there is a natural dark grey smokey ring. Their body is very thin and lithe, almost a bit gaunt. They do have feminine breasts, but very small, and their body could easily be seen as androgynous. As Minerva, she has fair skin and long, coppery hair with golden-brown eyes. She has a facial tattoo of thin vines that loop around her cheeks, up her temples, and over her forehead. She has a much more stereotypically feminine body, with rounder facial features and only slightly pointed ears (picture is a bit exaggerated). Personality: (following a 1-2-3 Model). Value - Family. Flaws - Insecure and Unpredictable . Traits - Passionate, Sincere, and Gentle. They normally hide much of themselves under different personas. Minerva is the closest to Min’s true self they have been in a very long time. Sexuality: Pansexual Backstory: Min was born to a Breton woman, who hid them away from birth because of their ghostly appearance. Their mother was the only person who ever saw Min in their true form. As soon as they learned how, they started taking on the forms and faces of other people as a means of hiding what they really were. Min spent their life up to the story start changing faces and personas as needed to continue to survive. Prior to the opening of the story, Min was living as a male Nord Illusionist in the College of Winterhold by the name of Horingr Argersson. He was passing through Darkwater Crossing on his way to a research site when he was captured along with the Stormcloaks and dragged off to Helgen. Ongoing Story: After the dragon attack at Helgen, Min decides that as far as they are concerned, Horingr died at Helgen, and that was how it would be for the rest of the world. They needed to become someone the Imperials wouldn’t look too closely at, and shifted into a Breton female named Minerva. Minerva completely avoids going to Riverwood and instead decides that she needs to get as far away from all of this dragon bullshit as possible. Wearing Imperial armor that she picked up in Helgen, she heads east. Along the way, she skirts through different locations (basically adventuring as she goes), and eventually makes her way to Riften. By now, she’s gotten quite skilled at different thief-related skills and catches Brynjolf’s eye the moment she enters the city. After a brief trial”, she joins the Thieves’ Guild. While in Riften, she will end up doing the necessary things to buy the Honeyside (thus being Thane of Riften). After buying her home in Riften, she receives word of a friend of hers (as a previous persona) is dying in Dawnstar and leaving a son behind. She leaves on ‘personal business’ to adopt Alesan. While completing various jobs for the Guild, she will come across Sofie in Windhelm and adopt her as well. Over the course of the Thieves’ Guild quests, she begins having feelings for Brynjolf and have a fair share of teasing, flirting banter. Prior to going to the Snowveil Sanctum, Minerva will reveal her true nature to Bryn, as she feels like she owes him that before things get much more serious. He’s not entirely certain of where he stands/how he feels, so they leave off on a not great note when she goes and Mercer tries to kill her. They make up when she returns. When she’s forced to go to Whiterun to deal with the Honningbrew Meadery, she’ll have to deal with some dragon-related shit. So she’ll find out that she’s Dragonborn at some point through the course of things and also have to talk with Brynjolf about that. Funny enough, he probably handles that better than her being a Changeling. Likes: Pretty gems, flowers, adventuring, but also the simple domestic life when she’s home. Dislikes: Draugr, fucking Frostbite spiders, Thalmor, the Civil War Strengths: Archery, Illusion Magic, Stealth Weakness: She struggles to truly connect with people.
Misc. Questions: Favorite color: Dark green Kind of clothing: When not in her Guild armor, she likes to wear nicer clothes. She will occasionally wear a dress, but is more likely to be in fitted trousers/leathers with a fine shirt (similar to picture) What element would they be?: Water Theme Song: “Happy” by P!nk Alignment: Chaotic Neutral Special skills/talents: Exceptionally good at stealth and lockpicking, as well as illusion magic. Patience level: Moderately high Weapon: Bow and arrow whenever possible. She keeps a couple daggers on hand for when she’s in a pinch. Nationality: Though they are a Changeling, Min actually is a Breton by their mother’s heritage. Religious and to what extent?: She will pray to the Aedra, but is not extremely religious. She will end up making a deal with Nocturnal, just as an effect of becoming a Nightingale. If your character has a significant other, what would their song be?: “Sinners” - Lauren Aquilina Languages spoken: the common tongue, some of the dragon language, some elvish Wears jewelry?: Only if it has a useful enchantment. Close friends: She considers Delvin to be one of her best friends in the Guild. Becomes rather close to Karliah after all is said and done. Sworn Enemy: Alduin, Mercer Hogwarts house: Slytherin.

Papyrus’s Baby Pictures
Artists featured here: Zarla-s, Insanelyadd, Deadpool4ever, and C-Puff (thefloatingstone).
Papyrus, as previous posts have noted, has a pretty manly face and pseudo-physique compared to Sans’. Yet, in works where Papyrus and Sans weren’t reanimated skeletons frozen at the age of their resurrection, Papyrus must have been a baby at some point.
What Makes Papyrus Distinct, and How to Avoid Sans Convergence
It's pretty common to draw Sans and Papyrus as little kids. This can be more difficult than it sounds, for two very different reasons.
First, since Papyrus's design is often interpreted in a way that makes it look pretty manly and mature, artists have to figure out how to make an aesthetically-appealing "Little Papyrus" design that's still recognizable as him. Related to this, one has to make a Papyrus design that doesn't look too much like Sans.
The reader might wonder: 'How is that possible? They look so distinct!' Well, in a nutshell, it's because making Papyrus younger means making him cuter, and proportion-wise, modern-day Sans is simply cuter than Papyrus. So, if one strays a lot outside canon proportions in the interest of cuteness, baby Papyrus might end up looking like Sans. (This is especially true if one avoids giving little Papyrus long, gibbon-like arms, as he has in canon)
A few things distinguish Papyrus's design from Sans's. Body-wise, he has different jaws, eyes, teeth, and cheekbones/smile bulges. Sans never opens his mouth in-game; as he lacks distinct jaws, some assume his jaws are fused and his smile is more-or-less stuck in place like the Pokémon Glalie. Papyrus, however, has a distinct jaw with distinct teeth. His eyes are tall, narrow, and asymmetrical. Furthermore, the bulges around Papyrus's eyes are often interpreted as zygomatic bones (cheekbones); as ambiguous as it is, Sans lacks similar structures.
General Trends
(Papyrus looks pretty chubby, but he's not. It's just loose clothing.)
Some trends used when adapting Papyrus to a younger version hold true for character design in general.
One example is the changes of the Pokémon Charmander to Charizard, or Gible to Garchomp. The first in the lines are, overall, rounder, shorter, and chubbier, with proportionately bigger eyes and heads, shorter snouts, and taller foreheads. Later ones in the line are pointier (e.g., Garchomp has lots of spikes) and more complicated (e.g., Garchomp's arm-lines, Charizard's horns and bony wings).
Some trends are specific to Papyrus, however. Since Papyrus is a skeleton, he can't really be chubbier-looking as a baby/kid.[1] For that matter, he can't actually look more muscular when grown. He can, however, be dressed in baggier clothes when little, and in an outfit (i.e., his "battle body") that makes him just look muscular later.
Specific Trends
Eyes
Generally, younger characters are cuter. Intuitively, big eyes are cute, so a younger Papyrus's eyes are sometimes made bigger and cutesier. However, it's kept from copying Sans by making the eyes oval-shaped or just thinner than Sans' sockets.
Samples
Zarla's choice is unusual in the sample. Papyrus's actual sockets never change as he ages; rather, he gets little creases below his eyes over time. Allesia's choice1 is unusual in how she makes Papyrus's eyes so much bigger (in her reference sheet for Papyrus aged 9-10): his sockets aren't simply taller or wider, but a completely different shape from adult Papyrus. In fact, it's a similar shape (if smaller) to that of kid Sans (age 11-12) in the same work: the biggest difference is that Papyrus' eyes lack pupils.
Jaws
In human skulls and faces more generally, from babyhood onward the lower jaw (mandible) gets longer and thicker. This is especially true for adult male skulls, which are also fairly squared-off from a frontal view. It's mainly jaw growth which leads to the trend of Papyrus heads getting taller and narrower over time.
When making a baby Papyrus design, it's common for artists to do some of the following: make Papyrus's mandible wider, shorter (in height), have a smaller bottom of the jaw/chin, with shorter, more rounded jaw cutouts behind the teeth (i.e., Zarla and Insanelyadd).
When it comes to more drastic changes, some artists change the very way his jaws articulate. A baby or toddler Papyrus might have a lower jaw not really distinct from the surrounding bone, or a jaw that doesn't fit beneath the cheekbones and temporal processes (a little bridge of bone next to the cheekbones). Some artists even make little Papyrus's teeth rounder (not a human skull trait), remove a gum-line, and give him fewer teeth, such as through an overbite. In this way, little Papyrus can have a completely different tooth style from modern-day Papyrus.
Samples
Deadpool4ever's little Papyrus has a fitted jaw in both the "First Day of Elementary School" comic and "Sick Little Sans" comic, but in Deadpool4ever's comic excerpt of the famous Flowey is Not a Good Life Coach (by unrestedjade), more-or-less modern Papyrus has non-fitted mandibles.
Cheekbones
Papyrus's cheekbones are often one of his distinctive traits, but it's not really babylike. Some artists give him bigger, pointier cheekbones as he gets older. This is pretty realistic: real human skulls do get bigger zygomatic bones (cheekbones) over time.
Samples
Insanelyadd's newborn-Papyrus, Papyrus at Age 3, and more-or-less modern Papyrus are remarkable in that cheekbone size and position aren't linear. Instead, certain parts of it apparently change at different rates over time.
Deadpool4ever's choices are unusual: in this comic on Papyrus's first day of school, toddler Papyrus's cheekbones are big and fairly round, but in a comic excerpt of the famous Flowey is Not a Good Life Coach (by unrestedjade), his cheekbones, if he has any, or indistinguishable from his mandible.
Bonus: Sans’ Pictures
But how would you make baby pictures for Sans?
The trouble with Sans is that he’s already very neotenous. He has a small nose (or rather, nose-hole), a big, rounded skull, short lower jaws, and big eyes, even without artists exaggerating eye size. Making this more complicated is the fact he’s short for a presumed adult and, somehow, chubby-looking for a skeleton. (Probably just his fashion style)
Some, seeing Sans’ big eyes, make them even bigger, or subtly change the shape to be rounder. Others give him a proportionately bigger, rounder head, with a taller forehead. Some figure the lines underneath Sans’ eyes are like tired eye-bags, and so give baby/kid Sans no eye lines. Some make it a matter of expressions, giving Sans a smile that doesn’t reach his eyes.
Samples
Zarla takes a unique variant: rather than making baby Sans’s eye-holes any bigger (in absolute or relative terms) she makes the pupils much bigger.

Physical Character Chart
General Identity
Character’s full name: Koyol Bessmertnyy
Reason or meaning of name: in his culture, people are named for purpose. "Koyol" is his identifier to separate him from other "Bessmer", which means King, and a Bessmer "tnyy" is an "immortal king", denoting hes A, outlived his kingdom, B, has slain a large number of foes or an extremely powerful force and C, has lived an exceeding number of years, as well as D, lived through something that certainly should have been fatal- any of these would earn the tittle tnyy but koyol has achieved all of them (some of which a few times), so instead of "bessmer-tnyy" or 'king who is immortal, hes "bessmertnyy" which is "Immortal King" or "King of Immortals", detonating hes a legendary person before the death of the culture. Koyol means Snake, denoting his affiliation with the serpents as his Personal Identifier.
Character’s nicknames: Kyle, Kyle Haru, Kyle Moritaka, Kyle Kirishi, Kyle Serifine, Kyle (etc), Green #008000
Reason for nickname: Kyle is a nickname given to him primarily for those who cant pronounce Koyol easily, or a name used in English speaking worlds or modern worlds to blend in better than Koyol. the name was given to him by a long dead friend, and hes used ever since. last names vary, with the above being a few common ones hes used as of recently. #008000 is the hex code for "green" or "true green" and is his color identifier in the Color Squad. the title "Green" is also a nickname used by color squad or rainbow squad associates to refer to him as a coworker or in code rather than use his name or refer to him as their boss. hes refered to as Green or "eight" primarily by people in either of the color companies mostly by senior members or fresh recruits, especially by those who are aware that using actual names causes him some discomfort.
Birth date: koyol has no birth date. theres a variety of dates or holidays in which hes celebrated, though.
Physical appearance
Age: who knows. hes at least a couple eons old.
How does he/she appear: scary, usually. hes tall, thin, green, and has ominous eyes and no expression. hes known for looking... civil... but something is off about it. like something untamed with an air of knowing how to look tame, and trying to decieve you into thinking it is civilized. creepy, ominous, in most bodies- some seem far less scary or intimidating, but they all have a sort of air to them that whisper a caution that maybe its more feral than it appears.
Weight: varying by body, his usual one is described as weighty and heavy because of the double muscle system in his body. other times hes described as unusually light in a different body- attributed to the double bone structure. in his original body he clocks on at a good 200pds or more, despite his disturbingly skinny body.
Height: Your average koyol, including his original body, tops at an even 11ft. some bodies are much smaller- as short as 6ft- and sometimes taller, stretching to an even more ominous 13 ft 4 inches in one body.
Body build: skinny is the usual. hes commonly of a wirey, unhealthy looking thin-ness, particularly because of the proportion compared to his height. his version of carying extra weight is odd- he carries extra weight in his shoulders, or in his legs. the storage of fat on his mutant body is unproportional and poorly evolved, do koyol keeps off high fat diets in order to avoid the inhibitor of his legs carying the fat. most of the fat he carries as usual is stored on the shoulders and gives the trick appearance that they are broader than they appear when hes well fed. otherwise hes very stringy, with thicker arms and legs, due to the nature of the double bone structure.
sex/genitalia, body dimorphism, and associated gender: koyols society and people followed a 4 sex system rather than a binary. some people were born to carry, some people were born to give, some people born to receive, and other people could do all three or some combination. givers and receivers are similar to the idea of men and women respectively- not exactly sperm and egg, but close. the givers gave their equivalent of sperm to receivers in acts of sex with a penis, receivers kept it and genetically mixed it with their version of an egg. receivers found a carrier they liked and in a second act of sex, passed zygotes to carriers who had womb like organs, where the zygote could grow into an infant before birth. these children developed into the fourth kind of person who biologically could do all 3 other jobs in the breeding process, but rarely were children born that way. most often it was givers impregnating half zygotes directly into carriers/3jobs, which would make more givers; or receivers impregnating carriers/3jobs, who would make more receivers. these roles didnt actively have titles, although those who could do all three jobs of reproduction were venerated as "perfect". the people of his day were archaic and didnt understand that single job people were mutations from "half breeding", and attributed it to gods and kings and queens blessing unborn children. now, all of that said: koyol is the 4th archetype of sex to his people, capable of all "3 jobs", and thats what his concept of gender or sex is as apposed to male or female. biologically speaking in terms of what most societies believe of the binary system, though, koyol is considered intersex. in binary systems, though, koyol prefers the term "hermaphrodite" despite the average person using the term intersex- for selfish reasons. he likes that the phrase hermaphrodite contains "Aphrodite" which was a goddess of beauty and love in multiple universes hes been to. he doesn't mind the phrase intersex, though, despite the feeling that its misdirective in meaning, and considers himself of both sexes rather than in-between them. all that talk on gender and binaries aside- in terms of genitalia, koyol has both male and female, and then some; he can both fuck and be fucked, and is biologically capable of holding a child in pregnancy and impregnating another person who is capable of pregnancy in the average binary sex system. he is also capable of crossing his "egg" or "sperm" with another person's, and inseminating that child into a third party, in am inner outside of binary sexes. when blending into a system of binary sexes, if asked, koyol identifies as a man, in terms of gender; using he/him pronouns. of other dissimilarities, he also has developed mammary glands- which has been noted of oddity, as less than 30% of his genetic material is mammalian, and any milk he would produce following a pregnancy would be radioactive and poisonous as his mammary glands have direct connection to both the gland in his body that produces poison, and the part of his body that handles his own energy and radioactivity. Put shortly, it's a useless bodily function, and a crux of his mutated evolution.
Shape of face: fairly square jaw. he's known, particularly, for a lack of nose in his original body- instead having a very sensitive patch of skin that operates as the olfactory. other bodies come with wide, short noses. his eyes are almost always a little bit larger than one would expect to fit the face properly, and a bit rounder and wide set than a human’s usual almond shape. studies done on his eyes show that koyol also has a nictitating membrane-- a third, transparent eyelid. Koyol himself was unaware of this, and does not have active control over it; the only time its ever actively moved was on subconscious accord in response to a reflex to certain pollens. these pollens have shown not to harm him or his eyes, so why the reflex occurs, the purpose of the third eyelid, and much else about why he has it is unknown. do to the nature of the Second skin, his face cannot emote, but when the second skin is shed, the scaled First skin can emote just fine any expression. his teeth have been known to change from white to a deep purple when poison is active and pushed through small vein-like networks in his teeth to their tips, and in his original body, all his teeth were as sharp as canines. most bodies instead have one, two, or four sets of fangs, instead, that can turn from white to purple and inflict venom
Eye color: Koyol’s irises, sclera, and pupils are all a black color thats nearly identical. the pupil (which are far larger than one would expect), of course, processes light; but his irises contain specialized nerves that process heat and ultraviolet, alongside his olfactory sense which does the same. when experiencing stress or strong stimuli, his pupil produces what's theorized to be a ‘protective’ Calcium Disk; a bone-like layer- this looks like a thin, white, slitted pupil appearing over the actual pupil of his eye. the pupil is similar in build to bone, and up close, one can watch it raise from the depth of the black pupil like a bone coming closer to the surface. with more stress or stimuli, the calcium will build more so, and the pupil slit appears to expand until it engulfs the entire eye. at maximum stress levels, something similar to marrow or blood and red in color develops from strain. cause yet another, small, thin red pupil slit to appear. when the calcium eye has spread to a certain point, koyol cannot see at all aside from a vague heat signature processed from his olfactory organ. which is note reliable. the calcium eye is hard, and aside from scratching the surface of his eye, cannot be penetrated any easier than bone. the marrow eye, red pupil, is much easier to penetrate and theoretically could be lethal to do so. some human or animal forms will have green eyes. rarely, they have brown.
Skin tone: koyols second skin, top layer, is a pale, slightly greyed green shade, and the blood that circulates it is a darker, thicker red that borders approaching a brownish color do to the heavy oxidation of the second skin as a disposable, sheddable layer. blushing darkens this pale green to a darker earthen green. when under damage, or around damaged formations like around scars, the blood ceases flow to the area and the skin attaches less strongly to the scales underneath it, giving it an as described "ugly, sickly yellow" color tone. the same yellow tone effects the whole body when koyol is ill, or the second skin looses a lot of blood. this second skin is mostly deadened or numb in feeling, due to its extremely minimal use of nerve endings, and has a large lack of muscle to it, thus rendering facial emotion and some other minor movements null and non visible, such as inability to move ears or flair nostrils, or twitch visibly in areas of the back or legs or feet. the first skin, or "real" skin, is a layer of skin and scales underneath the second skin. his scales are a smooth obsidian like black with the slightest purple tone to their sharper edges. the first skin can be flexed to point outward, or tighten up together flat; exposing sharp edges or tightening into protective armour, respectively. when the scales flext outward, if the second skin is present, they will shred it- in what is considered a frothy, bloody, messy and gorey shedding process. the skin underneath the scales is a deeper black with no purple shading, and the blood that runs under his scales and in this skin is a bright cherry red- when injured, however, it appears a deeper purplish color as the skin is laced with a seperate pulsing network of his innate purple poison. this gives the blush of the first skin a more purple appearance, and gives scars a dulled purple color where the scales wont grow back. where the first skin has been damaged bad enough for scale deformation or to damage the under skin, the Second Skin wont grow back properly, leaving ugly yellow scars to grow over them. these loose edges must be stitched with black cord to keep the ends together. in more human bodies, koyol exhibits an olive skin tone!
Distinguishing marks: koyol exhibits many scars on most of his varying bodies that, as mentioned, are notoriously stitched with thick black stitch cords to hold the second skin together. these include a ring around one arm where he ince list and had it reattached, two thick scars through his stomach and back where he was once pierced, and an ugly lagged mark about one leg where it was almost shredded and completely lost. another distinguishing feature, known to one of his favored bodies, are marks known as the "Marks of Ownership." these are small circular seal tattoos, each meant for a specific person or group, denoting his loyalty to those specific people. other features of note come and go with the bodies hes inhabiting, most often mutant forms. they often include a piercing or tattoo or some other detail or change to the body itself.
Hair color: his hair almost always is a deep earthen green. there are some human forms where this may change, and is usually a very yellowed, straw blonde color. there are some cases, even, where the bodies natural hair color is yellow, but the hair appears to by dyed green, and the color will fade the longer koyol inhabits the body.
Hairstyle: his hair is thick, and usually kept short for the ease of it, given his busy lifestyle. some bodies do have longer hair when he inhabits them, and koyol will normally leave it that way or keep it trimmed to that length. his hair is usually of small waves or curls, and fairly unruly. koyol doesn't like to brush his hair outside of keeping out tangles, but you will never catch him with greasy hair- he can't stand the texture of oily or dirty hair. his hair style is of known as wild and untamed, but clean. in bodies like animal forms where there is fur, it's also usually very short, and either green or blond.
Voice: his voice is known for the unchanging monotone associated from the restraint of the second skin, but when its shed, his voice emotes as normal. its kniwn for being graveled with what is thought to be age, in many forms, but in others is smooth. in most bodies it is fairly deep and rasped, but others kighter in pitch or tone. he is known for speaking in two different patterns; on being overly polite, but associated with being at ease in a situation, speaking with few conjunctions and with longer words, and quickly. in tenser or uncertain situations he talks slower and purposely drawn out to negate his fast speech, and with more conjunctions and slang he thinks appropriate to who hes speaking with. he speaks more so only when necessary, and speaks in shorter and simpler sentences. he rarely says the names of other people while they're in his company, and even often then doesn't use names unless necessary, preferring nicknames, coded names, or even pet names. one very notable thing about Koyol is that his people did not laugh. the people he grew up with and around did not make the sound at all. and while he is capable of it, it was thought by the people of his day to be an animalistic noise, and he was taught and punished not to make that sound (the impulse to laugh is, in fact, not at all related to any sort of human-related genetic, or even an an actual instinct to laugh. the impulse is a deep breathy pant and a surge of energy, something many common animals experience, and koyols impulse his to push some of that energy into his pant, and thus makes a noise. when exhausted, but still impulsed to ‘laugh’, the sound is completely silent, merely an exhale.) because his laugh impulse was suppressed, often with traumatic event punishments, the noise is often strangles, and sounds more like- to quote a friend, once- like a “panting dog that's being choked, with the odd sound of grinding glass underneath.” the grinding sound, actually, is a pair of vertebrae from the double skeletal systems that click and grind together when the impulse occurs- the occurrence is, apparently, painless.
Physical disabilities: koyol is inflexible to a nearly debilitating level do to the nature and structure of his double skeleton system. with a lot of training, hes able to bend as much as his body will physically allow him, although its still not much and it does cause pain. for example, hunching forward at a 90 degree angle or close to it sends incredible pain up the length of his spine as several nerves are pinched by the “spinal ribs” even after years of training and endurance. the most he can do comfortably, with no pain, is about 20 degrees in the forward direction. he cannot bend backward from a straight angle at all, no matter what training occurs, and can only just barely put any arch into his back while laying flat.
Usual fashion of dress: koyol has an almost extreme preference for button up shirts. frankly, just because he likes them. its a minor obsession. usually this is couples with jeans and sneakers or boots. his shirts are usually long sleeve, and if short, are long enough to conceal the scar on his upper arm. he wears a variety of colors with a preference to wear specific colors for specific moods: if he wears darker colors its usually because hes not feeling particularly social or not very at ease today. good friends and colleagues are familiar with the patterns of what he wears and why. bright neon greens are the biggest warnings: hes feeling v e r y bad, and its dangerous. more thank likely this'll be the last time you see him for a few weeks. wearing all black means hes close to hibernation. wearing pinks means he's feeling better than usual and is good to touch and be hugged, but darker purples means hes not feeling up to a lot of contact today. this communicative dress pattern is more or less subconscious in Koyol’s behavior, actually.
Jewelry or accessories: koyol has a habit of wearing 6 metal, simple grey earrings; three in each ear. this is put on most bodies he uses frequently, and each ring in his ear is for one of his 5 children, and his grandchild. Koyol has a great distaste for body modifications that are meaningless, but a great respect for ones that have important meanings or symbolisms. one accessory koyol is known for is a large black bag that seems to change shape and form almost as much as he does in body. it has a variety of straps, randomly, and often carries his beloved partner Katrina Bessmer, a snake of incredible length. other than the bag, other accessories hes found with are usually various writing utensils and something to take notes in, often carried in a black satchel version of his “mysterious, endless black bag”.

The Bakery
So I made this in October of 2016 and I did something different than how I normally do. I tried to write it as a stream-of-conscious story, and I feel like it worked okay, though I wasn’t satisfied with the quality by the time I was finished. It takes place in my fantasy world of Carégarn, but because I wasn’t satisfied I didn’t feel like it was good enough to put on the blog I made dedicated to it.
But this is a blog for my writing so I’ll put it here anyway. This involves my characters who so happen to be gods on their world and @thedovahcat ‘s mortal character Daeglan.
It started with the bakery.
At first glance the shop was ordinary, almost plain. But Daeglan knew better. For you see the bakery’s owner was the kindest, nicest, warmest--dare he say SWEETEST and most magical woman he’d ever met in his 12 years.
She had chestnut brown hair cut to her shoulders and chocolate brown eyes. If he ever dared to look into them, though, HE melted inside. She always smelled of sugar and flour, though Dae rarely saw either on her person. Her face and body were a little rounder than that of most of the townsfolk, but that suited her just fine. Daeglan didn’t know her full name; she insisted on being called “Ms. Baker” by children and adults alike. She smiled easily, but her widest and most genuine ones were reserved for him whenever he walked into her shop.
Every day, he would visit for a pastry and a chat with Ms. Baker. He’d done this since he had first laid eyes on her at the age of 8. Even if Dae didn’t have any money, she’d still give him something small and sweet to eat as long as he’d assured her that he’d been well behaved. Ms. Baker was one of the few adults that would take him seriously when he spoke, even if he was telling a wildly exaggerated story. She was also one of the few townsfolk who didn’t make fun of him for nearly gouging out his eye with a pair of scissors when he was 10(he really shouldn’t have run with those). It was as if she thought of him as an adult already, and that was the best feeling in the world.
Daeglan was absolutely sure that he was in love with Ms. Baker.
Every night he wished he had the courage to tell her about his feelings, and every day he failed to do so. Dae’s mother absolutely knew about his crush and would tease him for forgetting to give her free pastries from the bakery. Dae’s father, on the other hand, was skeptical of the young woman. He wasn’t the only one. Sometimes the boy would pass by townsfolk and overhear them discussing her. There were quite a few rumors surrounding the young woman, especially because she was unmarried and did not make any effort to change that. Daeglan didn’t care, however. How could someone so nice have a dark secret, after all?
It was on a cloudy afternoon that Daeglan walked into the bakery to find someone completely new inside. He couldn’t tell if they were male or female, but they had bright blonde hair, and wore a blue and green outfit that somehow matched the same shades in their mismatched eyes. Where Ms. Baker was round, they were thin. They reminded Dae of a clown, but something about them made him very uneasy. They were sitting on the counter with a smile as if they owned the shop, and Ms. Baker, for once, was frowning. He wasn’t sure what he’d just walked in on, but it clearly wasn’t something good.
The clown person noticed him first. “Ah! And who is this young lad?” Their voice was chipper, but still hard to identify as male or female. Ms. Baker turned to the door and Daeglan could see her face go through several unidentifiable emotions before settling on an apologetic smile. “Daeglan, this is my cousin, Kit.” She indicated the clown vaguely. “She’s just passing through,” Ms. Baker added with a pointed look towards her cousin. Kit didn’t seem to notice, opting to wave cheerfully at the boy. He nervously waved back and made his way to the counter. He didn’t WANT to be near her, but he had to be in order to properly speak to Ms. Baker. Dae held a silver piece to her.
“One please,” he said, pointing to one of the display bread rolls. She stared at the coin for a long moment as if she didn’t know what it was for. It took Kit snapping her fingers a couple of times before Ms. Baker snapped to her senses and retrieved the bread for him. Dae glanced up at Kit. No wonder he’d thought that she was a clown, she had painted on green and blue triangles onto her cheeks like a performer. Her grin was also a little too wide and toothy to be a regular person’s. Somehow the wide smile stretched further as he stared. Dae decided that his time was better spent looking at Ms. Baker’s much more pleasant form.
“What brings you here today, Dae?” Ms. Baker asked as she handed over the roll. It wasn’t anything different than what she normally asked, but he could feel the tension left over from whatever the cousins had talked about before he walked in. Dae had been planning on giving her his gift closer to when he finally had built up the courage to express his feelings, but it seemed like she needed some cheering up. He could always get her something else, later.
“Um. I got you something.” The boy took his present out of his pocket and laid it out on the counter. It was a bracelet made of bronze. A simple swirling pattern was engraved all around the outside. It had taken him months to save up enough to buy it from the merchant that travelled through town every so often. He felt his face burn as he started to sweat.
She picked up the bracelet and examined it fully. It only then occurred to him that his gift might not fit her. If he’d thought to look at Kit, he would have seen her highly amused expression. As it was, Dae was too distracted by Ms. Baker to pay attention to the newcomer. After what seemed to him like an eternity she finally slipped it over her hand. Just when he thought it would get stuck, the bracelet eased onto Ms. Baker’s wrist as if it had been made for her. She smiled at him and it was the first true smile he’d seen from her that day. “This is a very nice gift, Daeglan. Thank you very much.”
Dae’s heart was going to burst if it kept beating the way it was doing right now. He smiled sheepishly back, well aware that face was turning strawberry red. “It it’s, you know I saw it a-and I thought about you and...um, y-you’re welcome.” It was a miracle that he could even be understood through his joy and nervousness. Ms. Baker crooked a finger at him.
“Come here, Dae.” Daeglan swallowed and obeyed. He wasn’t expecting much more than the simple verbal thanks. While he’d certainly had very specific and embarrassing dreams involving Ms. Baker he didn’t imagine she’d do anything like that in reality...would she? Before his racing mind could get much farther, the baker gave him a kiss on the forehead while putting a loaf of bread in his hands. Dae’s face darkened to the color of cherries. All of a sudden he couldn’t think about anything anymore. “Now run along home, please. There’s still some things I need to...discuss with my cousin. It was nice to see you, though.” He automatically nodded and left the shop, his head too full to process anything other than the request in her words.
The very next day she had vanished. According to the townsfolk, Ms. Baker had left just as quickly as she’d arrived. Daeglan was too distraught to pay attention. His love was gone, and he wasn’t sure about much of anything anymore. His mother had assured him that one day he’d meet someone closer to his age and that he’d be head over heels for them. His father was less sympathetic, stating that he knew something must have been going on with the baker woman the entire time. There were other factors that contributed to Dae changing his name to Faires later in life, but this was one that he would not actively remember.

Matera really liked this town. It was charming in its own little way. The population wasn’t so big that she couldn’t remember the folk that walked into her humble bakery regularly, but it also wasn’t so small that she couldn’t watch people walking by. Being around children again was especially nice. She’d always had a fondness for them, but after her son’s abrupt escape from Carégarn Matera had sought out a chance to interact with them to calm herself.
It was either that or spend a few decades alone in utter despair.
The ruse was simple enough. A bit of magic freely given by the resurgence of faith in the gods was enough to maintain the inventory, and any money she made went to the local sellers for the actual ingredients. Certainly Matera was odd to the townsfolk. The rumors surrounding her were thankfully more focused on her lack of interest in marriage than in her appearance or her personality. She could hide among them for a few years yet before needing to move on. Or so she hoped.
This hope was especially high because of a certain regular customer of hers. Daeglan had been coming into her bakery every day since she’d first seen his wide-eyed stare of awe when he was much younger. Matera humored the child and his obvious attraction more for her sake than his. She loved her family and she adored those who worshiped her, but it was something else to be admired for nothing more than being there in one’s life.
Nothing and noone would ever be able to replace Scorroh, but Daeglan’s innocent crush was quite charming in its own right. Matera hoped to be able to watch him grow out of it and fall in love with someone...well, MUCH closer to his age than her.
The chance of that died the minute Kitchren had materialized in the bakery, leaning on the countertop with a wider grin than usual. At first Matera thought that her cousin was there looking for trouble. Then the lanky clown spoke and she knew it was because trouble had found HER first. Kit was using her ‘you’re in a lot of trouble and I can’t wait to tell you all about it’ tone. “So I hear tell that there’s a baker in a town in the middle of nowhere--”
“Kit, what--”
“--who bakes lovely if quite simple treats--”
“Can you just--”
“--who has QUITE a few stories whispered about her.” Kit gleefully began counting on her gloved hands while Matera pinched the bridge of her nose. “She’s a mage with a dark past. She’s run away from a bad marriage. She was betrothed and left to find her true love. She fought in the war and left everything behind her. And this is the best one: She’s not human because she hasn’t aged in the five years she’s been living here!” With this last revelation, Kitchren splayed her hands to her sides and shook them merrily.
So that was it. Matera had forgotten to age herself during her time here. She’d been hoping that no one would have noticed. She sighed. “And you just NEEDED to come and tell me this.”
The clown sat herself on the counter. “But of course! You were too busy playing shopkeep to notice or care, so I took it upon myself to care for--”
“I understand,” Matera pointed a finger at Kit as her temper flared. “That you known are the Queen of Lies for good reason. You would do well to not be obvious about your lying right now.” Instead of taking her cousin’s tone of voice as the threat that it was, the clown laughed.
“You caught me there. Your brother was worried about you.” Kit rolled her mismatched eyes. “I’m sure he said something about your emotional state and when the mortals would eventually demand answers but I really wasn’t paying attention to that in particular.” She waved a gloved hand dismissively. Matera frowned. “Though he did make a fair point by saying that five years in one place is far too much time in mortal terms. It’s time to move to...well perhaps not GREENER pastures, but certainly a new place.”
While Matera mulled this over, the bell to the front door rang. Daeglan walked into the shop, greeted by the blue-and-green clown. What followed was a series of calculated actions with him compared to her much more free interactions of the past. She knew he could sense this, and he made it obvious by giving her the bracelet. It was simple, and didn’t fit without a little magic manipulation, but Matera knew that the boy had given the gift in earnest. She had to give him something back just as earnestly. A kiss and a loaf seemed to do the trick. While he was stunned silent, he was eager to please and obeyed her readily. As soon as the boy had left, Matera frowned once more.
“I’m going to have to break the boy’s heart.” Kitchren, as amused as ever, chuckled her agreement.
“You were going to have to anyway,” The clown pointed out. “Even if the gap between you was only decades wide, he’d grow out of it anyway. They always do.”
“I know.” Matera sighed. “That doesn’t mean I wanted to leave this suddenly.”
“I’m sure he’ll be fine.” Kitchren waved again. “Mortals are flimsy in most ways and humans even moreso, but you have to admire their ability to bounce back from such things. In the meantime I’ll leave you to your preparations. I’ve got more mischief to get to.” With that, she vanished.
The next couple of decades passed in a blur. Matera moved from town to town, staying when she could and blessing those she found worthy of such a thing. She could finally understand her cousin Artad’s desire to keep travelling and rarely settle. It was not a life she could sustain, however. Matera became tired of not seeing the same faces twice, of having to learn the local culture, of not being able to sleep in her own bed.
It was because of these that when she reached a town with a large farming community she decided to stay. Matera wasn’t sure what she would do, but anything would be better than returning to her true house and feeling Scorroh’s absence there. Cider would be fine. Rotin was not the best of caretakers, but at least he would not be alone in raising his little brother.
She had been deep in thinking about her brothers when the little boy started clinging to her skirts. Matera looked down, only to lose her breath. The boy could not have been older than five. He had a mop of untamed brown hair, slightly dirty cheeks and a pout that seemed too big for his small face. It was his eyes that caught her attention, however. They were a bright blue, and gleaming with unshed tears. Even from this “introduction” she knew that he was nothing like Scorroh had been when he was that age. The similarities still struck her.
Matera knelt on the dusty ground to make eye contact with him. With her softest voice she asked, “What’s the matter, dear?”
His voice was so small, so upset. “I lost my dad. He said he’d be back in a few minutes but I can’t find him and now I’m lost and and and--” Finally the dam spilled over, cutting lines into the soil on his face. Matera started to gently shush him, patting at her skirts for the pocket that held her handkerchief. Before she could, the boy latched onto her dress front and started to bawl into the material. She gently patted his back as he did so, not minding the growing wet stain.
It was when he’d finally finished crying that a panicked man dashed past them, only to double back once he’d realized who was there. “Jer!” the man scooped the boy into his arms and held him tight. Matera merely smiled and stood to dust off the road dirt while father and son talked over each other. The man was familiar. She thought it was because she half recognized the scar on his face. It was nice to see a man so devoted to his son, though, so she did not think too hard about the subject.
After a few minutes of chatter that the man noticed her and slightly bowed. “Thank you so much for finding him, ma’am. I don’t know what I would have done if you hadn’t.” His eyes went from her face to the wet spot on her dress. He smiled sheepishly. The boy, Jer, noticed as well and hid his face in his father’s shirt. “And for, uh, handling the waterfall.”
Matera smiled. “It was nothing, really.”
The man scratched the back of his head, still easily holding his son with his other arm. Again, there was that sense that she KNEW him from somewhere. “I feel bad for putting you in that position, though. I’ve got to thank you somehow.”
Matera thought about this for a moment. “Well, I’ve been travelling for a while and I’ve finally decided that I wish to stay here.” She indicated the area around her. “I don’t suppose you know if there’s a spare room at the inn I could stay at until I’ve found a job?” He nodded.
“I can get the old man to let you stay for a few days at least. After that you’ll either have to pay or find someplace else, I’m afraid.”
“That will be enough for now, thank you…?”
“Oh I’m so sorry about that.” With the arm not holding his son, the man held out a hand. “Daeglan Faires. And this is Jerran.” Jer looked at Matera and nodded.
All at once she remembered. He had been the boy that had visited her in the bakery so long ago. He’d given her the bracelet that she still cherished. And now here Dae was, living in the town that she now wanted to live in. He’d changed his surname and had a family and now her she was in his life again.
Matera would have wondered if the gods were playing a cruel joke on her, except that she was one of them. Despite the epiphany, she managed to smile and take his hand in hers. “Matera Cook.” It was a surname she’d used on occasion while travelling. She hadn’t intended on using her real name, but it was too late to take back her words. Daeglan raised an eyebrow. “My parents were...shall we say very blatant with their naming.” It wasn’t entirely a lie.
“I can see that. Here, let me show you the way to the inn.” He hesitated a little, glancing at their still entwined hands but made no move to let her go. “And ah, I hope we can find each other again in much less tearful times.” Matera smiled at him, letting him take the lead and also not letting go.
“I’d like that.”

Jason Gillespie talks Jofra Archer, the England job, veganism and Aussie cheats
Jason Gillespie is full of enthusiasm as he thinks the unique summer of cricket ahead from the perspective of an Australian legend with a foot in the
& A World Cup and an Axis in the same year? If you are English or Australian, it doesn't get any better than that, & says the former fast bowler with the largest of all Australian teams and now head coach at Sussex.
It's just great. I feel very privileged as an Australian who works in the English game because I love county cricket. This summer will be cricket overload. I can't get enough of it and if I think so, imagine what the supporters think. There is a buzz of excitement.
<img id = "i-f713f7a82ae457b8" src = "https://dailym.ai/2DSHFzI -1_1557170464381.jpg "height =" 423 "width =" 634 "alt =" Jason Gillespie bustles with enthusiasm for a unique summer of cricket "
Jason Gillespie bustles with enthusiasm for a unique summer of cricket cricket
It is a typical expression of exuberance of a man who took 259 Test wickets and made a double hundred as a night watchman before he successfully went on a coach in his native country and here, particularly leading Yorkshire to two county titles.
The character commonly known as Dizzy speaks all things cricket with Sportsmail including those twin World Cup and Ashes spikes, a life in coaching that took him to the edge of the job's England four years ago, away from the game, his passion for veganism.
But first, let's talk about a particularly good prospect under his wings in Hove. A certain Jofra Archer.
The character universally known as Dizzy speaks all things cricket with Sportsmail all things cricket with Sportsmail "
& # 39; Wow! It's all about Sportsmail cricket. & # 39; is Gillespie's one-word reaction when the name of the all-rounder of England is mentioned. & # 39; He's great, isn't it? I don't know if he's going to play in the World Cup, but I think the selectors have done the right thing by not placing him in their provisional squadron.
they can take a look and see him They will have a good idea of how good he is.
& # 39; My personal opinion? I don't think we will see much of him in Sussex from now on. The kid is a competition winner. He changes game. It is not their fault that they have changed the qualification rules sa child in a candy store. He just likes to play cricket. & # 39;
Then there is a warning for those within the camp of England who seem to have been slow to recognize the value of the newcomer in their midst.
& # 39; I really felt for Jofra when he said he didn't want to step on someone's toes & # 39 ;, says Gillespie, who will write exclusively for Sportsmail this summer. & # 39; I know he has a lot of support from his teammates in Sussex. & # 39;
& I know he has a lot of support from his teammates in Sussex. Luke Wright spread a message of support on social media and that was really good. All the boys feel the same.
& # 39; Jof is a good kid and has been here all his life, he wants to play cricket and be the best he can be. He is a fantastic bowler.
& # 39; Do not underestimate his catch either. He is working hard on it. He just has to show people what he can do and that is exciting. "
& # 39; I like the psychology of how players tap and how they approach things, & # 39; he says. & # 39; I keep coaching quite simple. & # 39; I am not necessarily a great technical coach and I have never coached specific skills because I have been head coach throughout my career.
& # 39; I feel that I am a good man manager and I can read the atmosphere of a room. I have empathy with what players experience and I am a strong believer in clear, concise messages and everyone moving in the same direction. Enjoying is a big part of how I adjust it. & # 39;
Those skills made him one of England's favorite coaches when Team Director Andrew Strauss wanted to replace Peter Moores in the aftermath of the last World Cup cleanup.
For a while, everyone in the media seemed convinced that Gillespie was the only one Strauss gave to Trevor Bayliss. Not that Gillespie ever believed the hype.
Gillespie was in the frame to take charge of the English team for Trevor Bayliss in 2015 the frame to take charge of the English team for Trevor Bayliss in 2015 "
Gillespie was on the list to lead the England team for Trevor Bayliss in 2015
& # 39; I never thought I really "He was close to the track in England," he emphasizes. "Andrew Strauss was very good throughout the process.
" He told me that I was one of the few names He was clear in saying he was talking to some people about the role and would keep me informed.
& # 39; Then I was preparing for a game against Somerset and cameras & # 39; s that followed me.
& # 39; I told our average man who was born bombarded with questions about me, to get all the cameras together and I would make a statement.
& # 39; So I did that and all cameras & journalists just packed it up and went home. No more interest in me!
The course in England will be available again in September when Bayliss leaves after the ashes. Will Dizzy be in the picture again? & # 39; In all honesty, I really don't know & # 39 ;, he says.
& # 39; My focus is on Sussex and when I'm home it is in my other role on the Adelaide Strikers. I want to see where Sussex can go. I want them to play the best cricket they can play, represent the county and have a little fun. "
Gillespie thinks it's time to move on after Steve Smith and David Warner's return" class = "blkBorder img-share" />

But there is a serious side to him and it comes to the fore when he talks about his veganism.
He is a proponent of a plant-based diet after living a tragic lifestyle has changed when his father, Neil, died of a heart attack five years ago, trying to focus on living a little healthier and exercising more, & says the very slender and fit looking 44 year old.
& # 39; I finally watched a documentary called Earthlings, and since then I have not touched any meat or dairy products. It had a huge impact on me.
& # 39; I had never been a close animal friend. I went fishing and I was hunting in the past, but this changed my whole perspective. It gave me a moment of clarity.
& # 39; How we treat other species on our planet does not suit me. It is very wrong. It has made me a much more compassionate person. "
There is also seriousness when Gillespie is questioned about his countrymen Steve Smith and David Warner, who will soon make their comeback after the false scandal that tore through the door of the heart of the Aussie game.
& # 39; They have made very bad decisions, but they have imposed their prohibitions and there is no doubt that they are sorry about what happened, & # 39; said Gillespie. & # 39; We have seen other players be ready to mess with the ball and receive far less punishment.
& # 39; These guys were treated like criminals. Yes, they did the wrong thing, but I think we should move on now.
& # 39; I know this will not happen immediately in England because there will be some Barmy Army and other fans who will get stuck in it. & # 39;
Talking about the disgrace Australians brings the subject back to the Ashes in August and Gillespie & # 39; s eyes light up. & # 39; These are two very good teams and the one who can adjust to the batting conditions wins the best & # 39 ;, he says.
& # 39; Both bowling line-ups will be strong. Jimmy Anderson and Stuart Broad are masters of bowling in England. Then Australia has a battery of fast bowlers. When James Pattinson is fit and firing, he is a game changer. I have bowls from 90 mph outswingers.
& # 39; England will be a little favorite. They are well managed. It's Joe & # 39; s Root team now. He is a good player and a good man, but Australia has nothing to lose and with Justin Langer at the helm they will try to get stuck, take games deep and jump when the time is right. It will be fascinating.

]
Gillespie has Eoin Morgan & # 39; s England & # 39; s England & # 39; light favorites & # 39; named for the World Cup this summer & # 39; Slight favors for the World Cup this summer
The World Cup carnival comes before that and now Dizzy, the winner of the 2003 World Cup, is diving overdrive. & # 39; England will rightly start as favorites for that & # 39 ;, he says.
& # 39; Managing expectations and the media and all the hype around this side will be the key. Alex Hales out of the blue.
& # 39; England and India are great teams. & # 39;
& # 39; England has decided that it is still a problem that they do not need it, so I can fully understand why they did it. I also like the look of Australia. They just come in one form or another and they have been to the big dance a few times.
& # 39; Afghanistan will be dangerous opponents, especially if circumstances suit their slow bowlers. They will present brutal small challenges. I would like to see them doing well, with Rashid Khan with me in Sussex and Adelaide. He is a small child.
& # 39; If the West Indies have their big boys available, they can cause real problems. Every time there is a tournament, people say I'm not going to say that. I just think they are real contenders.
& # 39; It is quite an open World Cup actually. That's why I'm looking forward to it. I think there will be shock results. Exciting times. & # 39; By the World Championship and Ashes summer.
