MP100 Reaction

I just watched MP100 for the first time and wrote down my reactions to nearly every episode! I thought it'd be fun to share, even with them being small. I'm not fixing typos because I think it's funnier to show the full emotion I was feeling lol. This has to be my favorite anime of all time.

I unfortunately didn't write out for Season 1, but DID share some thoughts with friends:

I'm not finished watching, so please no spoilers, but DANG Mob Psycho 100 has to be one of the few shows I can NOT see the twists coming. /vpos (I'm on the final episode of season 1)

And I now see why Reigen's a fav. I didn't get it at first but now it's ASDFGHJKL

The way people talked about him, I went into the series expecting him to be a jerk or something. But it turns out he has a huge heart, kindness, and strong morals, while also being an odd mix of collected and confident or screaming and frantic.

Goes from being very expressive with his hands to -_-

Scam artist but "hey don't you dare hurt these kids I'm their guardian now and harming people is a low low idea"

and now he can see ghosts which is VERY fun

the end segment of the finale when he picked like, 2 tons (?) of mushrooms I was like "go autistic king"

they all autistic in different ways I can see it (mostly Mob and Reigen atm)

Now I binged liek 5 episodes when I was supposed to draw maaaaaaaaaan

SEASON 2

MP100 S2 E1 Reaction: I don't think I like Emi. Maybe there'll be a growth in future episodes, but DANG the "you don't have feelings" line gives me a very bad taste in my mouth. I did find it cool when Mob grabbed all the papers though. And Tsubomi watching from the sidelines is intriguing.

MP100 S2 E2 reaction: bad idea to watch that episode before bed last night, but luckily I didn't get nightmares lol

MP11 S2 E3 reaction: Dimple ace?? Reigen ace or ace adjacent?? Oh…the second half of this episode OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH I love Mob. I love Reigen. grarararrararara MY HEART Dimple's a little gremlin but his plan failed so it's better than fine

Episode 2 had me going "people said this season was better?" Second half of Episode 3 had me "UAGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

MP100 S2, E4 reaction: Reigen is very observant. I found "Is he a chihuahua?" a little too funny. LITTLE GHOSTIE MOB IS SO CUTE?! I hope Mob gets out of this without fully changing who he is. Oh and Dimple protecting Shigeo's body is a W.

MP100 S2, E5 reaction: I giggled when Mob grew a flower on top of his head. And when he joked with Dimple with the little smile on my face, I verbally let out an "oh AWWW" and strtled my brother. The fight was cool, but Sheo with anime eyes is oddly enough unnerving XD "???%"???????????????? YOOOOOOO??? I love Mob so so much. Reigen feels iffy this episode, but I'm unsure if it's a front or not hmmm.

MP100 S2, E6 reaction: Yeah Reigen really messed up with Mob and I'm glad Mob is getting more confident and taking time to be a kid! And Dimple sticking with Mob is cool too. But DANG the scene with the emails and the computer as Reigen realized it was his birthday and he had no in-person friends? DANNNNNNNNG THAT HIT HARD. Both because it's close to home, and because the sound design and timing and layout of that scene was absolutely perfect and gut-wrenching.

MP100 S2, E7 reaction: OH I HAVE STRONG FEELINGS ABOUT THIS EPISODE OH MY GOSH????????? I didn't expect that ending and oh my gosh I'm stimming so much and I'm freaking CRYING. He's done it all because of Mob and Mob knew this WHOLE TIME. I knew he probably did, but saying he stuck around because he knew Reigen was "a good guy" OH MY GOOOOOOOOOSH MY HEART IS EXPLODING. They are friends, your honor. hey love and care for each other OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH.

I'm crying so hard oh my gosh

I haven't happy cried from shock like THIS since the DBH ending.

I got so caught up in the ending I forgot to mention I find it funny how this is the first show I've watched to not only acknowledge the existence of memes, but to verbally mention it. I also found all the social media logo parodies to be fun!

OH AND the first season outro whiteboard marker style making a return and becoming made IN COLOR was so so impactful.

MP100 S2, E8 reaction: I was gonna say how much I appreciate how Mob has such a strong support group now. And then that freaking ending. The fire. The corpses. What the FRICK.

MP100 S2, E9 reaction: Thank goodness. I kept telling myself they weren't real bodies but the fact I spent so long putting off the next episode [3 days] tells you something lol. Also now he can pinpoint exact locations and fly so that's cool. They've made a huge mistake messing with Mob oopsie. Oh phew the parents are just at a spa. Still don't think "daddy issues" is a good excuse for burning a home and placing fake bodies. I also loved Reigen and Dimple this episode. Poor Mob is so tired and shouldn't have to deal with all this ;^;

MP100 S2, E10 reaction: BODY IMPROVEMENT CLUB W!! Also some fun Dimple scenes let's gooooooo.

MP100 S2, E11 reaction: Mob now has an intimidating presence in the best way. I also LOVED his speech about creating things on your own. Reigen's self-defense punch made me wheeze out-loud. And that last "Dimple, stay with him" from Reigen has a tone that- oof.

MP100 S2, E12 reaction: VERY good episode. I adore Shigeo. He can take and give powers now eugh. I'm sorry, in the middle of a very serious scene, the "You're annoying. Begone" took me EXTREMELY off guard and I guffawed. "No one should be able to put value on someone else's way of life." I LOVE THIS. Reigen being his usual very calm turn into very panicked, I love it. Shigeo's PISSED.

MP100 S2, E13 reaction: Shigeo staying with the boss oh my gosssssssh my heart. And he healed everyone with his blast? Awesome! The little "I think I just peed a little" made me wheeze. The giant broccoli has finally come into play . . . OH SERIZAWA IS THE THIRD GUY I KEEP SEEING IN FANART!

SEASON 3

MP100 S3, E1 and 2 reaction: I don't have much to say about these yet except "Mob smiles" make me very happy <3

MP100 S3, E3 reaction: Chad Mob isn't real, it can't hurt you. Chab Mob . . . I don't have feelings about the monkey shirt but his pink hoodie is SO CUTE! Dimple looks creepy yeah. Also very worried why everyone's phones were out of service . . .

MP100 S3, E4 reaction: I watched it this morning, but? Fear.

MP100 S3, E5 reaction: Shigeo doesn't want to hurt Dimple and Dimple's making that verrrrrry difficult ;^;. I didn't expect the episode to end with the monkey shirt tbh. I still don't get it.

MP100 S3, E6 reaction: Oh. I did NOT expect this episode to hit hard. Mob and Dimple friends and Dimple just wanting to be SEEN? OUGH/pos. Mob walking away while Dimple makes an illusion of himself. Dimple carrying the broccoli into space. Mob CRYING in his blanket?????? Owwwwwwww.

MP100 S3, E7 reaction: Oh this is a fun one! I like Takenaka, and Mob smiles a lot in this episode. Plus, Reigen totallyyyyyyyy (/sar) not excited to drive a bunch of friends to see UFOs.

MP100 S3, E8 reaction: In general, this episode was super cute! I'm a sucker for friends just hanging out and doing weird things, especially this group. Inukawa being taken at the very end was funny at first, but the implications are ehhhhh and then he got kawaiified asdfghjkl.

MP100 S3, E9 reaction: In general, I loved this episode because I love when autistic-coded characters are able to unmask and Shigeo seems so happy! Of course, there was the ending…. I must have seen fanart or something, because as soon as I saw him at the crosswalk with flowers, I was filled with dread. The cat was saved and I was relieved, then immediately proven right. Guhhhhhhhhhhhh.

MP100 S3, E10 reaction: GUHHHHHHHHHHHH MOB DIED AND LEFT ONLY HIS POWERS BEHIND. This is gonna be an emotional doozy for sure. Teruki's battle with him and all Mob can do it watch. And the photo slowly sinking in for Reigen HURT.

MP100 S3, E11 reaction: GUHHHHHHHHHHH RITSU. And jvghdkbvgn,fzsbdxfhvkdcg Reigen too. And Mob trying SO SO HARD to stop himself.

MP100 S3, E12 reaction: I cried for a large majority of this episode and am still currently crying oh my gosh. Mob exccepting all of himself and Reigen revealing everything and Dimple's return and Mob's major improvement in the Body Imporvement club and everyone throwing Reigen a birthday party (I started stimming like crazy when I noticed)and Mob LAUGHING WITH HIS FULL HEART

spoilers for ROS up to around ep. 30. i genuinely believe ROS will hit hardest if you go into it fully blind, but i realise that's a hard sell. for what it's worth, it's a really neat sci-fi story with interesting moral problems, good queer rep, neat magic systems, and a nice art style. the main pairing, as well as many of the side pairings, is gay. there's a minor nb character. there are major female characters. there are major characters of colour. the mysteries and twists are largely satisfying, at least to me. i personally really enjoy the ending.

under the cut, there's a short description of what i consider the setup (relatively spoiler-free, if you make an exception for things you learn in the first couple of episodes), as well as two more major elements of the story which i omitted from the previous paragraph for spoiler reasons. one of them is revealed in the mid-S1 finale, the other becomes apparent throughout the S1 finale/the beginning of S2.

next reblog, there'll be a more narrative retelling of the first half of season 1, up to and including the first major twist. i will attempt to emphasize the parts which i find compelling, which means it'll be quite different, stylistically, from the actual webtoon.

It will, naturally, include major spoilers for the first thirty episodes.

OH BTW i almost forgot but i was rereading messages from when i got a friend of mine to read ROS and this webtoon has absolutely BALLER music !! and some incredible animations !! literally the fight scenes go so hard for no reason

room of swords deals heavily in time travel, specifically time loops. the cast are characters from across history, each with their own story and their own power.

it also reckons a lot with narrative framing and morality: a lot of actions will be recontextualised and reframed with new knowledge later on, and what seems clear-cut at first may not always be so easy. after all, some ends may justify even desperate means, and rarely do we have all the facts when we must make judgements.

what does personal responsibility mean if you're no longer quite the same person?

the setup for season one is as follows: gyrus, an astronaut, wakes up alone in the wreckage of his spaceship. he receives a fragmented radio transmission and decides to follow it, in the hopes of reuniting with his crew.

shortly thereafter, he meets a knight by the name of tori. tori is, as becomes quickly apparent, not from the same time period as gyrus. reluctantly, they decide to team up after being confronted (and nearly captured) by a big fantasy creature guy.

(during their first small adventures, gyrus is able to access some form of magic, which comes as a surprise to him: perhaps he knows himself less well than he thought?)

they will, over the course of the next few episodes, meet sylvia (a cave woman), nephthys (a prophetess/healer from ancient egypt), and kodya (a hunter/soldier from ~19th ct. russia), and team up with them. strangely, though, both nephthys and kodya appear to know more than they let on...

all of this is preceded by a mysterious message, proclaiming that this ragtag group of heroes have been chosen to conquer this world where past and future fuse. they are tasked to complete the room of swords to open the gate to freedom. and, as is traditional: they are warned that not all of them will survive this journey. and just WHAT is that timer in the sky ticking down towards?

i'm sure they'll be fine though.

if any this sounds interesting, go give ROS a try! it's genuinely one of my favourite stories. i love the characters (gyrus/kodya has been one of my main ships for years; v good for rotating in your head while you're waiting in line or travelling somewhere).

(some more spoilers for their character dynamic: i love narrative parallels. i love mentor/mentee stuff, especially with the things you'll learn in S2. big fan of when one partner has to semi-consensually semi-kill the other. they would do sooo well in a fluffy slice-of-life romcom but alas, they are stuck in the time loop sci-fi oops-there's-a-bit-of-horror-now webtoon instead. what if the world was ending and we were like sooo married. what if i trusted you even when i knew i shouldn't. what if i trusted you even when i knew you shouldn't trust me. what if i trusted you with my life but not my secrets. what if i knew we would hurt each other before this was over. what if i knew i would hurt you. what if i needed you. what if i knew you wouldn't hate me even after all i will do. what if i needed you. what if you would always know me. what if i ne—)

I saw that you're interested in writing for Daimon Togo!

Since I believe that Togo will eventually get a route, how do you think a marriage between him and MC will go?

The reasons I believe that he'll eventually get a route is because:

1) His sprite fits the main artstyle. He's more than just a side character and rival for Kuni's S2

2) He interferes a lot in Kuni and MC's relationship in Kuni's S2 (calling Kuni a phony husband and whatnot). I also read Kuni's S2 POV on the JP app. Kuni hints that Togo might feel some way towards MC (as more than just a subordinate and co-worker).

3) His rivalry with Kuni can be explored more in later seaons, but it could also work as a good plot thing in his potential route. It could be similar to the IM Addison Creative guys with Togo coming into S2. Have Kuni be his rival and try to expose Daimon and MC's fake marriage! Explore why Kuni and Daimon have such an intense rivalry (Togo started working there 2 years before Kuni, so he has more experience in the industry).

At 7 in the morning, I was writing my answer to your ask in my mind while on my way to my medical Summer practice. Now it's 10 PM, and I finally start to write it down. I hope I still remember my genial ideas from this morning =).

Okay, that's a subjective idea, but Togo is one of the most attractive side characters Voltage Inc has. With all my love for Takeru Momose, Togo takes the first place in my heart. If I ever make a top of the most good-looking Voltage Inc characters, Togo will be in the top three, if not the top of the top. I don't ever remember liking a sprite of a character so much.

About his personality: I see him as the love child of Kuranosuke Kiba, Jun Araki, and Toshiaki Kijima. Togo is as tough as the three of them. I know that Voltage probably wanted to make Kuranosuke the super kind character of the cast. Yet, for me, Toshiaki, Kasumi, and Taro Akuchi are the standard of kind characters. I'm not saying that Kuranosuke is evil. No, I love him with my entire heart. He's my favorite from OISY. However, when I think about Triple T (Taro, Toshiki, and Toshiaki), kindness is the first thing that comes to mind, while sarcasm is the first for Kuranosuke. And Togo is very close to the Triple T. He has Jun Araki's aura because they both look like yakuza yet are born leaders. He has Kuranosuke's toughness, though he's not as impulsive and abrasive. And he has Toshiaki's combination of calmness, kindness, and roughness. Daimon Togo is so like my favorite Voltage Inc characters that if Voltage doesn't give him a route, I'll write it myself.

I think in Togo's route, they'll play MC's crush on him. That can be a 'she fell first, but he fell harder' type. However, as you said, I believe that Togo also has a huge, no HUGE (like a dinosaur) crush on MC. So, that can also be the 'they love each other but are idiots' troupe. I am ready to write a detailed fluff scenario or list of headcanons of how Togo has a crush on MC and suffers away from her. If someone wants, tell me, and I'll do it.

If Togo ever gets a route, I think Kunihiro will play the same role Shunichiro Tachibana has in Irresistible Mistakes. I am sure that Shun is deeply in love with MC in every single route and cares for her. So, Kunihiro will be the third wheel in Togo-MC's relationship.

AND I want Togo and MC to marry while being sober. I don't know why, but I want them to do it due to other reasons besides alcohol.

While married, I think Togo will be more awkward than any other character. And that's because he has the most obvious crush on her. I like to think that Kunihiro and Kuranosuke also have feelings for MC, yet not as much as Togo. He won't act tough or anything. Togo will do what people in love do: try to show his best side, to convince MC to stay with him even after the reasons they get married aren't relevant anymore. I also hope to see an 'I have always loved you' scene. They'll try to spend as much time with each other as possible. There'll be a lot of "He/she is better than me" moments. And Togo gives the best hugs. So, MC will be welcome to find comfort there.

So i’ve been thinking (as everyone else lol) about all the possible scenarios for s2, and what i would love is if the very first scene is wilhelm telling simon it was august who leaked the video. I hate the miscommunication trope and yr has been so amazing with that so far, so i really hope they carry it through. Also, it would immediately create drama and tension from the start. What d’you think?

Honestly, I don't have any specific hopes on how Simon should learn it was August. There are so many ways Lisa could go about it and all of them would end in different outcomes, and I just haven't settled on a specific idea as my favorite.

I like the idea of Wilhelm telling Simon, because that's clear, honest, open communication between them and I love that. But that means Sara won't tell Simon and that'll create conflict between them when he does inevitably find out she knew. However, if Sara does tell Simon, that creates conflict between him and Wilhelm because come on, Wilhelm didn't tell him even though he knew? Simon would be pissed. And if anyone but Wilhelm or Sara tells him, it's like a double betrayal, because he has to find out from someone he isn't close to and they both knew without telling him. And of course, when he's told will impact all of it. If he's told right off the bat, he'll be upset and there'll be conflict sure, but it's like ripping off the band-aid and getting it over with. If he only finds out towards the end of the season though, then there's been time and it'll hurt so much more than if Wilhelm or Sara had told him at the beginning. I just think all the options are very interesting and they all could go in such different directions that I'm not really settling into a specific 'I want this to happen' yet.

I also hate miscommunication anon, we have that in common, and the way Lisa has set up the situation here is interesting. One way or another, Simon will be hurt by someone's lack of communication and it'll be really interesting to explore that and have a much nicer commentary on how to handle miscommunication in teen drama than the very common 'someone kissed my partner and I saw and now I'm breaking up with them because I have no ability to talk things out with them and find out it wasn't consensual' teen drama trope.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, part of what makes Young Royals so good is how real it feels. Whatever route Lisa chooses, I'm sure I'll love it.

it was brilliant in the way that i loved seeing the failsiblings work together for once, but it was also very heartbreaking to see roman get outright shot down by his father and then also by gerri. sad. but because my optimism hasn't left me yet, there is still hope for romangerri supporters! neither of them is dead!

i think this was a very sobering reminder of how career-oriented gerri truly is. the show loves to remind us of it but personally i had been a little blinded by roman's behavior around her. roman had been growing more and more attached to her during this season, even though the circumstances of their partnership had drastically changed. gerri being the interim ceo and roman starting to increasingly think with his feelings and his dick, that really wasn't that good for them. i think that it was the dick pic case that showed gerri that roman wasn't taking their partnership seriously enough, which lead her to prioritize her career over roman – personally i didn't see her picking explicitly logan over roman, she picked the option that was beneficial to waystar and therefore for her career. sorry roman!

i do think it was pretty inevitable that something like this would happen, given that succession loves destroying any sort of happiness and that we know roman's feelings for gerri weren't reciprocated. there was no way in hell gerri would have chosen to support the failsiblings in that scenario – their chances were pretty much ruined and gerri doesn't pick the losing side. i believe gerri would have warned roman about the caroline plot or tom's betrayal without the dick pic case, but well, congrats rome for fucking that up! maybe don't send unsolicited dick pics in the future!

but don't get me wrong, i do think gerri feels bad over this betrayal of sorts, but the fact is that she can live with it. she wouldn't have gotten so far in waystar without being a stone-cold killer bitch, roman is probably just another semi-regret on a long list. it's obvious that she is fond of him, but being fond of someone doesn't mean you'd fuck up your career for them.

the scene where gerri refuses to help roman goes down as one of the most heartbreaking in the show (the look of utter heartbreak on roman's face... kieran culkin emmy when) and it certainly doesn't leave them in a good place for s4. i don't think there's going back to the dynamic they've had during s2 and s3, but there's definitely room for something new. roman is going to have to come to terms with the fact that gerri indeed put her career over him and that his feelings weren't reciprocated. i'm pretty sad that we didn't get a proper fallout from the dick pic case, since it would have cleared up even more where they are right now.

i really hope this isn't the end of their interactions! jsc and kieran have so much chemistry together it'd be a shame to completely sideline roman and gerri's storyline, especially as this gives so much new opportunities to explore. i'd love to see a bit of animosity here and there, but honestly i don't dare to hope for anything, i just hope there's something! and in my ideal world, gerri eventually joins team failsiblings, but because the chances that ken, shiv and rome will be able to work together for longer than three days are really slim, i'm not holding my breath.

and in my ideal ideal world, there'll be lovers to enemies to lovers, just because i think that would be amazing. again, not holding my breath though. all i really want is something good for gerri, i don't even care much if it includes roman or not.
