The MOAT Rule: If you need to make an episode detailing why a character is always going to be evil and you make Masters Of All Time (or something of equal or lesser writing quality) your audience will realize that the message is bullshit and will likely be more assured that he's NOT always going to be evil.

I don't know about you guys but I feel like masters of all time would have been way better if Vlad had an actual reason for trying to keep Maddie from doing ecto science.

You know, like, say, a friend who got into a really bad accident because of ecto science and who was pretty much killed by it? And also the fact that it was almost him who got blasted by the portal, because he was standing right in front of it? And less than 30 seconds later he had to keep Maddie from getting blasted after he miraculously escaped? That's gotta be traumatizing man
