How Do Stretch Goals work in a “Mystery” Bag? Stretch goals add items to the Mystery Bag item pool!

In the case of stretch goal pins, charms, or stickers, reaching this goal means the ones in your bag might be upgraded to a specialty charm/pin or a holo sticker!

In the case of other stretch goals, like notebooks and fake tattoos, these will be added to all boxes above a designated tier!

The only bag tier where you are guaranteed to get all items, including stretch goal items, is Tier 5!

I designed a shell insert, back label and battery sticker for my AGS 001, replaced the shell with a glow-in-the-dark one from eXtremeRate, and installed an IPS screen. Also learned how to solder. Thank you to my friend who helped to print them on sticker paper with holographic laminate.

How Redacted Characters Wrap Gifts Pt 1

Happy Holidays, whatever you celebrate! I thought this would be a fun post, so here's how I envision various Redacted bois would wrap their gifts...

WOLF BOIS

David: Knows how to wrap neatly, but man, it's basic. When he tries to write names straight onto the gifts in biro, Angel ends up taking the gifts away and adding little bows and ribbons. Proper gift tags go on, too.

Milo: This man has dinner socks, you think he doesn't get fancy wrapping paper? Enlists Sweetheart to put their finger on the bow cuz they can phase shift and he can pull it tight.

Asher: Look, gifts are wrapped. Mostly. You'd probably get the same effect if you put the gift, tape and paper in the tumble dryer and hope for the best but he tries, bless him.

VAMPS

Vincent: Gets things delivered already wrapped.

Porter: Doesn't really do gifts. If forced (probably by Will) uses a gift bag.

Sam: Knows how to wrap better than Darlin', and usually ends up doing theirs too. He suspects it was on purpose to get out of doing it.

Will: Can do fancy origami shit and doesn't use tape.

D.A.M.N Bois

Damien: Very neat, matching wrapping paper and tags.

Huxley: Uses the same paper for everyone. Forgets to label gifts, and ends up with mass confusion on the day when he can't remember who had which unnamed present. Ends up having to get people to swap gifts!

Lasko: Thoughtful paper chosen for each person. Doesn't use the same paper twice in case "someone notices". Noone is sure why this matters. Everyone appreciates it anyway.

Gavin: Loves holographic paper. Uses it a lot, and is delighted when people give it to him. I don't know why, it's a vibe I get from him! It's not Christmassy, but hey.

Caelum: Uses plain paper and goes to town with stickers. It's much more fun and personal. Adds so many bows and ribbons it's not even funny.

Likes - Arcades. Street performers. Tazukuri and those the little bowls they come in. (He often steals them)

Dislikes - Sticky labels and holographic stickers. Elevator music. Pagers. (He can't work out the code)

Fun fact - Choso's record of rats captured with his bare hands pushes past 872, he keeps a detailed record.

History - Choso couldn't remember where he came from or who his parents were, he just knew that Eso and Kechizu were his brothers and Yuji was his half brother. The two met one day in the street and Yuji told him that he'd been looking for him.

That day he found that Sukuna was his brother's uncle, yet had no links to Choso at all. Sukuna tolerated him for a time when he kept Yuji out of trouble, but beat him when he found that Yuji had been fighting, the trouble was that the younger brother was really good at fighting.

Still, Choso took the punishment on the chin as like Yakuza tradition. That's how he and Yuji were sworn in as brothers, though Choso had no actual family links like Yuji did.

Choso belonged to his own little family and it's everything he could ask for on his search of his own honour past his hardships.

He often says he doesn’t care that he belongs to a no named family, but it does bother him knowing Sukuna takes no care for him. Especially when he takes such good care of Yuji and his brothers.

He’ll find his own place in the clan one day.

I think the newtype space-magic bullshit is by far the weakest part of Mobile Suit Gundam. And it taints the entirety of the Universal Century timeline.

Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn absolutely revolves around newtypes - so, clearly, Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn is not my favorite show.

But it's got some absolutely fantastic mobile suit designs. And this week I've built the Real Grade RX-0 Unicorn Gundam.

One of the many reasons I don't like buying gunpla on Amazon is that they don't seem to have any idea what appropriate shipping & handling is. They just slapped a label on the box and sent it on its way.

Needless to say - I exchanged it.

Right off the bat, this kit looks kind of weird. The A-runner is all a translucent pinkish-red ABS. The B-runner is also festooned with clear bits. It's all very striking even before building anything.

If you've spent any time on the /r/gunpla subreddit I'm sure you've seen the horror stories about broken Unicorn arms.

Well, I made sure to do my research. Made sure I was twisting in the right place. And I was able to successfully rotate those B8/B9 arm segments without issue.

Unfortunately they don't normally warn you that the G35 part in the chest is weak and that rotating the shoulders may break it.

I ordered some replacement G35 bits on AliExpress.

I also got some 80wt silicone shock oil to lubricate the arm joints. Just a tiny drop and some vigorous movement were enough to loosen everything up.

Like most Real Grades - this kit comes with a lot of sticker-style decals and an extensive marking guide.

I used the shiny green stickers for the eyes and cameras, but that's it.

I picked up some waterslide decals from Delpi Decal. The picture isn't great, but there's a neat holographic finish to these decals.

I also wound up painting the v-fin with a gold Gundam Marker. Nothing fancy, but it looks pretty decent. And I don't have to worry about a sticker peeling off.

I didn't love the accessories for this kit. The magazines for both the bazooka and the beam magnum are kind of loose. They were constantly falling out when I was posing the kit. And the shield feels very light and insubstantial.

At least it's got the solid, pre-posed hands.

The kit really looks pretty fantastic with decals and a matte topcoat. Obviously Unicorn mode is almost entirely white... But there's a good amount of surface detail. And it's got some subtle shades of white, grey, and off-white going on.

The transformation to Destroy mode is kind of a pain in the ass. Lots of fiddly little bits to deal with. And posing in Destroy mode is a challenge, too. It's hard to avoid closing up panels or yanking stuff off.

I've often seen people call this kit the first "good" real grade, and I think I have to disagree. This kit was a pain in the ass. It was far more fiddly than any of the real grades I've built previously. This is the first kit where I had to buy replacement parts or lube-up the joints. The first kit I'd really say needed more than just nippers to build. Definitely not beginner-friendly.

Still - it does look good now that it's up on my shelf.

I certainly won't be building any of the other Unicorn variants any time soon.

Me walking into a store for a merchandise roundup:

Minus the "dumb."

Evidently, the post-holiday season isn't the best time for roundups. Most of the Rick and Morty merchandise at my local thrift stores is gone. It's a hot gift item!

I decided to branch out and visit stores outside my area. I was wandering around the kids' section at Ross, not expecting to find anything, until I spotted a Rick and Morty tag:

A beanie with the classic design. I probably would've found more items if I stopped by before Christmas. I don't know if they'll get much more apparel before spring--when I worked in retail, sales were dead in January and February.

Speaking of thrift stores: my local Marshall's had a Rick and Morty shirt with a Kohl's tag, so I decided to visit Kohl's directly. I wasn't having much luck there either until I stumbled on a shelf of licensed shirts near the entrance. I probably walked right past them!

I love the colors on the first shirt, but the second one is a little creepy. Reminds me of The Shining. That's...also not a face that I've ever seen Morty make before.

My local Marshall's sold every bit of Rick and Morty apparel, so I went to another location. They still had pajama pants in stock, including a new design with a holographic label. ✨

Homer Simpson joined in, too! Simpsons merchandise is pretty common in this area. Futurama apparel is a rarity, and I've never seen anything related to Disenchantment.

This weekend also brought the usual mall trip. New Rick and Morty sweatpants at Rue 21 right next to The Boondocks. They actually sell a lot of Boondocks apparel--I just don't post about it because I haven't watched the whole series yet.

Customers have snatched up most of the Rick and Morty Funko Pops that someone dropped off at the "nerdy" store before season seven. A few remain, like Wine Mom Beth.

Nothing new at Hot Topic or Spencer's, but Spencer's did have this poster in stock. They had it for a week earlier this year, and then it disappeared. I was glad to see it again because it's one of my favorite illustrations.

Happy shirtless Rick...did you Rick fuckers buy all their stock the first time? 🤔

Pickle Rick just can't catch a break. He was still stuck at the bottom! But not anymore because I moved him to the top of the pile.

Finally, I usually don't come home with anything, but I left the mall with the first Funko Pop that I've ever bought.

It's Artemis Fowl!

I'm not a huge Funko Pop fan, but Artemis Fowl merchandise is so rare that I might never see it again. I thought about how much I would've loved this figurine in elementary school. And I love it today!

I haven't seen the movie because by all accounts, it's terrible, but one good thing came out of it. I'm surprised that Artemis Fowl barely made it to store shelves because the series was huge when I was growing up. But the rarity makes this figurine even more special.

Wrapping up my Etsy orders gives me warm fuzzies.

So with my (mostly Good Omens and Our Flag Means Death) themed etsy orders, I like to make my customers feel like it's their birthday even if it isn't. (I can't always do the outside of the envelopes like this on international orders due to huge customs labels taking up space, but I like to on UK orders). So they get a pretty holographic envelope, some fun washi tape to unwrap first, then inside you get a hand-written thank-you note from me, some free stickers (OFMD or GO, depending on the theme of what you've ordered, as a little bonus present), pretty organza bag, and usually (mostly for the rings), pretty sparkly wrapping paper and different fun washi tape. EG kraken rings get kraken washi tape, snake rings get snake skin print washi tape. It's not just an order, it's an experience. I have a load more designs I can do, and with neatrly 2,000 different polishes in my collection, I can match almost any colour, so let me know what you have in mind and I can do a custom commission. I also do custom nail art on re-usable press-on nails, which can be worn for repeated short-term wear, eg for a night out or a weekend, then taken off again for work the next day easily, and re-worn again as many times as you like, without damage to your natural nails. Dreamland on Floppy Disc up nowww!! wanted to go as far as we could with the nostalgia for Dreamland, SO...here is the ultimate nostalgic version, across two floppies! They come in a coloured semi-opaque gatefold plastic hard case, two custom-printed hand-written sticker labels, holographic sticker on the front, and custom technicolour fold-top packaging. its maybe my fave piece of merch we've ever done. anyway, numbers are super limited! so instead of selling them, we're going to randomly send them to anyone who buys the album on any physical format (ie. cd, vinyl, cassette, VHS) before 3pm tomo.

ALSO - we have done a little thing with the cassettes - they come with a ringtone ha. each one has a different ringtone made by drew in 8-bit video game form. there's the your love flute, the space ghost mouth clicks and kiss, tangerine opening chords, and tokyo drifting horns. you should be sent your tone by august 21 if you get the cassette. UK only rn for this but working on getting it going worldwide.
