So, I have discovered/realized/been reminded of something.

Whenever I write about Akagi's path through Ultima Thule, I will need to rewatch cutscenes to verify some things (and find a list online). But also, I may will definitely be bawling my eyes out the whole time. Because as much as there were times before this that FFXIV made me cry, Endwalker punched me so very hard in my feelsbox. Twice. TWICE! The second time was the hardest.

I couldn't listen to "Close in the Distance" without tearing up before, because of the events happening when it is first heard, and the words in the song. After The Primals revealed that it is Ardbert singing to the WoL, well...

It is a gorgeous song, I absolutely love it to pieces, even more so with that lore. And after two very talented animators made videos regarding that information...

I cannot hear it without tearing up very hard.

Because it's that memory of Ardbert saying "If you need a push, I'll be right there behind you" that pulls Akagi back to his feet. Because maybe it wasn't just a memory...
