My headcanons for Thorton! I had an older ref sheet for him but I wanted to update it a lil ^-^

Would boom be into this stuff or no?

Maybe, maybe not! I haven't really thought that much about it with Boom Eggman, aside from when canon provided good material for it. But then I prefer to take the audio and imagine it with modern, rather than picturing Boom being into it too.

When Boom's design was first revealed, I assumed he was slim because he had a healthier lifestyle and therefore wouldn't be into any of this. But that didn't seem to be the case with how Boom Eggman still had a lot of moments that would've suited modern more. He clearly still isn't that much more aware of diet and fitness.

And Boom was the one with the beautiful scene of eating too many chocolate bars until his stomach hurt. But that could've just been a one-time accident that he didn't get anything out of. But I do headcanon that modern has gotten into similar situations and had the exact same reaction, only it arouses him too. I never considered whether Boom Eggman felt those same conflicting feelings in that situation, but maybe he could've.

I guess the possibility isn't off the table for Boom, he could just be into it on a milder scale in a way he doesn't gain weight from it. After all, I do headcanon that even modern doesn't intentionally try to gain, it's just a result of his lifestyle and multiple unhealthy choices in a much more extreme amount, but he doesn't do them with the intention of gaining weight in mind.

But part of why modern stays fat and only aims to lose weight when he passes his set limit is because he's into this stuff. Not only is he too lazy and gluttonous to be consistent with diet and exercise, but he also likes having a bigger belly. He likes extra meals and being able to eat lots of delicious food, so he needs a big one to fit it all in. Plus he has bigger organs than the average person anyway and likes to take advantage of all the room in his stomach lol

If Boom did get anything out of eating/being fed, it of course wouldn't be on the same level as modern as he has no gut to show for it. He eats a lot less than modern in general, eats a normal number of meals and, and doesn't often go overboard with snacks. That can change in situations like the Aim Low and Flea-ing from trouble episodes but I don't think it happens very often.

Well actually, while I don't think about it a lot as I prefer to imagine modern, I'd be lying if I don't at least entertain the thought of him discovering that he's into it and gaining a bit of weight. Or the alternate possibility of him having a bit more of a belly that he hides, despite the scenes where he's bathing and showering proving otherwise canonically.

I do think those could be cute concepts, so I'm not opposed to the idea, I'm just not sure how likely it could be. I could picture him being into a milder form of this stuff but can also easily imagine that he isn't into it. But I think the former could be nice, as well as him having a bit more of a belly because I would've loved to see that. You all know that I like my eggs round heheh 💜

Boom doesn't have to be as fat as modern but I still stand by the belief that every Eggman should at least have a bit of a belly since his shape is supposed to be a big important part of what makes him the Eggman. So I would've liked to see him at least a bit chubbier and that's why I've been planning to draw him that way! ^^
