Paul Newman (Paris Blues, A New Kind of Love)—those blue eyes! that cleft chin, that jawline! plus his company makes that really good organic salad dressing!!!!!
Christopher Plummer (The Sound of Music)—you can't tell me your sexual awakening was NOT this man staring julie andrews down in a dark garden somewhere in 1940s austria
This is round 2 of the bracket. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage man.

all of your guys are hamlet to me. like your art will show up on my dash and i'll go "oh hamlet art!!" and then i'll read the tags and oh. not hamlet art. (but still gorgeous)
oh i think about this often. i know folks follow the blog because of the hamlet stuff, so whenever i post about david i know some people are bound to be at least a little confused about it. like why is hamlet suddenly a robot? or an elf wizard? why does he have a beard and is dressed like a tumblr sexyman?
the funniest thing is that, superficially, it's possible that hamlet could be any one of those things, depending on your flavor of adaptation or retelling.

I'm afraid I can't look at these pics without thinking "The tragic love story of Captain Georg von Trapp and Ebenezer Scrooge." But I'm sure I'm not alone in that.

Favorite Female Characters Poll
I saw some other people do this and thought it seemed fun. I can name women all I want but it has to be on my own terms!
There ended up being way more TV show characters than I expected but video games made a strong showing still

'Were you ever in Elsinore, Mr Jagiello?' asked Jack.    'Oh, many a time, sir,' said Jagiello. 'I know it well. I believe I could show you Hamlet's grave from here.'    'I was really wondering whether they were ten- or thirteen-inch mortars on the upper terrace,' said Jack, 'but I should be very happy to see Hamlet's grave as well.'    'Both ten and thirteen, sir. And if you go a little to the right from the farthest turret, there are some trees: and among those trees there is the grave. You can just make out the rocks.'    'So there he lies,' said Jack, his telescope levelled. 'Well, well: we must all come to it. But it was a capital piece, capital. I never laughed so much in my life.'    'A capital piece indeed,' said Stephen, 'and I doubt I could have done much better myself. But, do you know, I have never in my own mind classed it among the comedies. Pray did you read it recently?'    'I never read it at all,' said Jack. 'That is to say, not right through. No: I did something better than that—I acted in it. There, the upper terrace fires. I was a midshipman at the time.'    'What part did you play?'    Jack did not answer at once: he was watching for the fall, counting the seconds. At the twenty-eighth it came, well pitched up but wide to starboard. 'Port your helm, there,' he called, and then went on, 'I was one of the sexton's mates. There were seventeen of us, and we had real earth to dig, brought from shore; it played Old Harry with the deck, but by God it was worth it. Lord, how we laughed! The carpenter was the sexton, and instead of going on in that tedious way about whose grave it was he made remarks about the ship's company. I was Ophelia too: that is to say, one of the Ophelias.'

I have a shirt that says “elsinore fencing club” (double funny bc my name is elsie), and it’s reaaaallllllyyyy funny to watch people who don’t know shakespeare actually assume my visibly crippled ass used to FENCE. like their confusion is magnifique.

For the last time, horatio: I did not murder my father, conspire to have my uncle marry my mother, hire an actor to play a ghost for legitimacy so I could blame the murder on my uncle to justify pulling “some really fucking sick meta-theatre shit” by writing a play and launching my soon-to-be legendary stage and literary career.
