I really don't understand what Ferrari's doing. I don't mean necessarily this year, but in general. This new car had to be the great comeback after 2020... 🙈🙈🙈
Last year's car was unreliable but fast as hell and Leclerc loved it. But they changed the car throughout all of last season to make it more suitable for Sainz who kept crashing. Now the car is miles slower, Leclerc hates it, Sainz likes it, and Red Bull is still dominating (we were lucky in Singapore but just because RB did badly, just like last year).
I know you keep saying that the team would never change the car for one driver if it meant it would get slower, but evidence says otherwise. Binotto, the rest of the team, Sainz himself said they worked hard to suit the car to him, and here's the result: the car is OBJECTIVELY slower than last year, and it doesn't suit Leclerc at all.
In Singapore, 2nd and 3rd were faster, we only kept them behind using DRS tricks. Leclerc said from the first moment that it was all planned and his role was to protect Sainz as best as he could. It didn't seem like he was protecting Ferrari, he seemed totally honest (unlike last year, where you could tell he was disappointed and just trying to keep peace).
It seems like Ferrari has chosen its first driver years ago (they even had Leclerc go receive his 2nd place in the championship trophy ALONE) but lack the decency of being honest with us (and possibly with Leclerc as well...).
Sainz's first victory came after 10 years in F1 and Leclerc had to sacrifice his own race to cover him. His second victory, same thing (though less of a shit show since Leclerc isn't running for the title this time). He gets the best strategies, can fight orders (Silverstone'22: "Hamilton and Perez will eat me alive if I try to defend!", so they had Leclerc do it and sacrifice his own race), can badmouth Leclerc and the team without repercussions.
I don't know if it's because Ferrari knows that Leclerc would literally die for them, so they take him for granted, or if sponsors are involved (we all know F1 is a political game and Santander got Kimi sacked for Alonso, it isn't even a conspiracy but a fact, especially in Italy everyone knows:
https://www.tumblr.com/sugar-and-spice-cl/729117320204648448/im-new-to-f1-but-santander-got-kimi-booted-from
(iirc OP is Italian).
I'm not saying I prefer Binotto to Vasseur, because Binotto was completely allergic to taking responsibility for his mistakes... but at least with him the car was the fastest on the grid.
Wtf is Ferrari doing?
The car isn't objectively slower overall. It was slower in qualifying in both Monaco and Suzuka (and maybe somewhere else but I don't remember). The car did get better in certain things compared to 2022 but they also made a lot of mistakes.
The thing is more that in their quest to I guess make Carlos more comfortable while also making the car faster they went wrong and it looks extra bad because the rest didn't get it wrong so they caught up or in RBs case extended their advantage.
Waché RBs TD said that with these cars it's easier to find speed at the front than in the rear. And RB who started with a more rearwards balance in 2022 shifted their balance forwards and their car got significantly faster. Ferrari wanted to shift the balance backwards but doing that and finding speed is much harder according to him. And so I think they thought they could do it but irl couldn't and got it massively wrong.
On Singapore looking at pace as such in Singapore doesn't mean much tbh. Half the race Carlos was going as slow as possible and that only works in Singapore because overtaking is super hard unless you are significantly faster or you do it via the pits and an undercut. Lando definitely wasn't faster overall and the Mercs were faster but they also were on a different strategy and were properly pushing. And with how well Lando did defending the DRS thing wasn't that needed tbh.
The win in Singapore was really important for Fred and his standing in the team etc. RB had messed up and it was THE chance to win and throwing that away would get in the way of Fred getting to properly establish himself in the team. That's why Charles cooperated. Because Fred needed it. Because Ferrari needed it. And the fact that is was Carlos who won doesn't change much.
We're in a throwaway season, there is no need for a proper driver hierarchy atm. But also the way that Fred talks about the drivers paints a different picture. We also know that Charles contract negotiations started early and he has most likely already signed a long term-ish deal. Meanwhile we don't hear anything like that about Carlos and they either actually haven't started negotiations yet or (and) he is definitely not getting what he wasn't which is the same thing that Charles is getting because otherwise there would be no need to be complaining so much and so loud.
I know this is an old ask, but read Charles interview with the race that came out today. He very clearly believe in the project and to me that means he is definitely at the centre of that.
Fred famously left Renault super quickly because he wasn't a fan of the politics. he doesn't like that stuff.
The current car is shit but that it's not shit because of Fred. This season we can only more recently start to judge Fred when it comes to the general operations. This car was designed under Binotto and all Fred has been able to is still push the development which he has done. Ferrari have brought more in general and more effective upgrades this season than last, but this car has some fundamental issues (chassis, suspension etc) that you can't just fix mid season with the cost cap.
The first car to judge Fred with is the 2024 car. And even then because they are starting with a new concept it probably won't start 100% flawless. But this current car is not on Fred at all.
not to mention the race interview again but Charles pretty much says he was ready to leave Ferrari last year and that he believes in the project now more than ever.
I get not wanting to trust Fred but do trust Charles he isn't an idiot.

send a number for me to talk about one of the following topics! | accepting!
dash commentary
i love love LOVE dash comm. i think it's fun seeing people talk about a certain topic and it feels like it brings the rpc together... unless it's a chaotic topic like pizza discourse or soup discourse that has a lot of hot takes and opinions, but even THEN it's still fun to see people going at each other/agreeing, idk!! there's just a fun feeling of unity for us as writers even if our muses disagree on the topic at hand or whatnot. a lot of fun interactions have come from dash comm and i love it :'>
magic anons
i have a senior citizen discount card bc i remember being in the rpc at the PEAK of magic anons when they were extremely popular. to the point where some people would specifically state 'NO M!AS' in their rules (either out of personal preference or bad experiences with them in the past).
i had a fun one on my old shauntal blog before where the m!a took her gloves away, and my hc was that she used them to cover burn scars on her hands/arms. and it was kind of fun in a way bc she basically locked herself in her elite room while the other 3 members were so lost and confused as to wtf was going on. i dont THINK ive had any bad experiences with them personally, but i have seen m!as used for the purpose of being weird/gross towards some muses which isnt cool :/
promos
god do yall remember back when promos were almost like a mini resume. like '10+ years rp experience, english speaking, skype available on request, 5 years experience in the pokemon rpc' like. we REALLY were outlining all of our credentials for no reason LMAO. like hold on lemme just put down a reference on my promo too for u guys to contact they'll put in a good word for me i promise. im kinda glad promos have gotten a lot more simple nowadays - i feel like if people did the single icon style promo w some text 5+ years ago it would not go over well.... no one would rb that, it would just be 'lazy' back then but look at us now!!!

WTF FRIDAY
Tumblr media
WTF?
That’s the most WTF image I could find lol. Perhaps Leao missed his calling?
First off, thank to all of you for the thoughts and well wishes the last few weeks. Scary stuff having a stroke but I feel like a lucky man. Also big ups to the staff around here for picking up the slack while I was on hiatus. Especially Gillis. The new guy has been hitting it hard!
Now on to some thoughts and ramblings, LET’S GO!
- First off the main priority is to finish top 4. Gotta get that CL spot and more importantly that CL cash. With 11 games to play we are 10 points clear of 5th. I’m pretty confident now but there is still a lot of time left. The way the league is this year anyone can go on a run and make a move up the table.
- Speaking of runs, Juve and Napoli are both on nice streaks, while Inter and Atalanta have really tailed off of late. That has made for a very congested top 5 compared to where we were a month ago. Juve are still a long shot to get to the top but it’s not impossible. They have the easiest remaining schedule and are really playing well. Problem is even if they win out, crazy but not impossible, they can only get to 83 points.  Milan, Napoli and Inter can all lose 2 games and still finish better than that. Juve host Inter on April 3rd. That will decide whether the Juve fantasy is alive or not. Remember it was the Inter fixture last year that kept Juve alive to finish top 4.
- Strangely enough Giroud STILL has not scored a goal away from San Siro this year.  10 goals in 801 minutes at home. Zero goals in 591 minutes on the road. And of course Zlatan still only has 1 goal at San Siro, and that was back in September. He has 7 on the road. I’m not saying Giroud CAN’T score on the road or that Zlatan CAN’T score at home, but it remains an oddly consistent stat.
- Like a lot of you I want to see more of Kalulu. R13 always seems to have a mistake in him and Kalulu has done really well in his cameos at RB and CB through injuries and Covid. Now with R13 having a knock we will get our chance. I’m certainly looking forward to it. It’s his chance to stake a claim to that starting spot going forward. Don’t get me wrong I think Kjaer still has first dibs when he returns next year no matter how Kalulu plays or what we do in the summer. It will mean competition for spots and that’s always a good thing. What it may also mean is the temptation to re-sign R13 will be nil. That’s fine with me. A CB rotation of Tomori, Kjaer, Kalulu and say a signing like Botman will be more than good enough. As we’ve seen this year, you need 4 solid CBs and I dare say those 4 would be one the best groups in the league.
-  As much as people crack on Krunic, we still created a fair bit of chances with him on the pitch in the Coppa. Much more than when we played Kessie in that role in the league Derby a few weeks ago. This tactic by Pioli has worked out great in the last 2 matchups with Inter and has also shown the way forward for other teams facing Inter. Have someone sit on Brozovic and good things will happen. Since that Derby Inter have scored only 3 goals in 6 games. Simone Inzaghi, a manager not known for rotation or changes in general, will have to react if Inter are to right the ship.
- It sure is fun to watch Juve fans go through the same trials and tribulations with Allegri that we saw around here during Max’s last days in 2014. The man wins but he wins ugly, real ugly. Fans hate it. They really, really hate it. Everyone wants champagne football. He knows how to suffer and his teams find a way to get results. I was team Alllegri back in the day. I still think it was a huge mistake to let him go. We would go on to have 9 different managers in the next 60 months between him and Pioli. Oof.
- Speaking of Pioli it’s easy to slip and imagine that it might be time to move on from him, that perhaps he’s taken this team as far as he can. I’ve done it lately. Look at the rest of the league though. Is Inzaghi really any better? Spalletti?  Those 2 have exactly ZERO scudetto between them as managers. You want the Mourinho circus in town? I don’t think so. Honestly I can’t think of a better alternative besides perhaps Allegri. Pioli pulled us from the doldrums, gave us an identity and steered us back into the CL. Instead of being reactionary let’s realize what we have: Probably the best manager in the league over the last 3 seasons.
- Napoli Sunday. A win puts us top of the league. A draw is fine. Inter have Salernitana while Juve have Spezia. I would say those are ‘easy outs’, but as Gillis points out to me the bottom four in the league have only 4 combined losses in their last 20 to go along with 3 wins and 13 draws. Also on the menu is an Atalanta visit to Roma. If Atalanta are to rebound a win is a must. If Roma is gonna make a run at top 4 their next 2 home games against Atalanta and Lazio are must wins.
It’s a big weekend, but aren’t they all the rest of the way?

Quick! List of all the otome games you've played and also your favourite routes/characters! Thank you!!
Hi, anon! Thanks for your question. This answer may be a bit long, haha. Let me see what I have in my phone right now. I’m gonna stick this under a cut to save your dashboard.
1) Mystic Messenger. My first proper otome game, haha. Awkward turtle Jumin is my favorite. Throwing money at the problem won’t help? How can that be?? What’s fried chicken??? This boy is ridiculous. Send help (and fried chicken).
2) SLBP. Kojuro is my fave forever. His work attitude and habits are really similar to mine. I’m also picky as hell about work/school, but my room is so messy. I can’t really cook much (when I was overseas I always bought pre-made rice and just cooked dishes). I have reading copies and storage copies of my favorite books. My birthday is also one day away from his. It also helps that his route is so well-written and his MC is like… pretty much the only one with a backbone lmaoooo. I also like Masamune a lot. I have a soft spot for Inuchiyo, but his main route is Truly Terrible, and I can’t recommend it. Stick to the event stories.
3) Does Tenka Tsuki count? I’ve only played Sakuya and Genya so far, but I like Genya a lot. His route is also really good. LAY ON THE ANGST GIVE IT TO ME MAKE IT HURT. Impatiently waiting for Hanzo and Hotaru.
4) My Forged Wedding Party. My favorite is Akito, but I’m also liking Yamato’s route a lot. Ren is adorable, but his habit of falling asleep all over the place reminds me uncomfortably of my ex. MFWP routes always take me ages to play because of the high mission requirements. I have got to say that Kunihiko (the ‘uncle’) as a love interest makes me feel rather uncomfortable.
5) Several Shades of Sadism aka SSS. Rei’s route will be out in a couple of days (SCREAMS) and he’s tentatively my fave based on events. I like Chiaki based on visuals lmao. Mei’s route is really good. Actually, I don’t have (many) complaints about the three routes I’ve done so far (Chiaki, Toma, and Mei). BUT I’m avoiding Minami like the plague, so…
6) Midnight Cinderella. My favorites are Byron and Louis, but I think the writing in this game is pretty solid for the main routes. I’ve heard that the Ever Afters aren’t as good, but I haven’t played those yet. Currently playing Giles.
7) Destined To Love. I don’t really have a favorite, but I want Takasugi’s route so bad. Katsura’s route was boring af. Currently playing Saito.
8) Office Lover 2. I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH. If you want to play one game out of all these and you have standards for plot/writing, PICK THIS ONE. My favorite is Kenichiro, but tbh they’re all great (although Haruto has his WTF moments). I honestly don’t know why this game isn’t more popular. The MC is pretty well-written and has her own life/career/BACKBONE. The guys are interesting, well fleshed out, and don’t do weird rape-y things. Kei is a really good example of a sadist-type character who doesn’t, you know, do things that should make everybody want to run screaming.
9) Rental Boyfriends. I like Takeomi, but his MC is annoying af lmao. I think Etsuya’s route is pretty good. RB MC isn’t quite as much as a go-getter as OL2 MC, but she’s still usually okay (except in Takeomi’s route).
10) Decoding Desire. Based on events, I have a soft spot for Kanade. Right now there are only two main routes out, but I want to slap both Yushin and Kento, so. Yeah. Stop sexually harassing MC!! Takamasa’s route should be out soon, though. I have high hopes for that.
11) Lust in Terror Manor. There are only two main routes out, Hayato and Rui. I prefer Rui. I don’t like the art style, though. I’m also not a fan of horror so… tbh I have no idea why I played this game.
12) 7 Hotties All My Husbands. I got drawn into playing this because I wanted a new game and SSS has those promo banners. The English in this game is horrible. You have been warned. My (very problematic) favorite is Soichiro. There are a LOT of issues with this game, but at the same time I kinda don’t want to stop playing? It’s like watching a train wreck, I guess. I’m playing Gaia’s route now, I might stop after that.
13) Hanazakari no Kimitachi He ~Boys Love You~. It’s a Japanese Voltage game based on the Hanakimi manga. My favorite, by far, is Kayashima. But the events for this game are pretty boring so right now I’m debating whether to drop it. I might wait until Minami’s route comes out first.
Those are the FTP games I have on my phone right now… I’ve also been dabbling in paid Voltage apps recently, but I don’t think I’ve played enough of them to have actual favorites. Plus I mostly just bought 1~3 routes per game, so. I also played games like Long Live the Queen and Magical Diary on Steam, but that was a couple of years ago, so I don’t remember much now.
holy fuck that was a long answer.
tl;dr MORE PEOPLE NEED TO PLAY OFFICE LOVER 2 and thank god i didn’t get the cheapest iphone available because goddamn these games take up a lot of space

Grading the NFL’s offseason moves
The league year officially starts March 14, but that hasn’t kept teams from making a list of trades and signings ahead of time. Let’s pass out some grades.
The NFL offseason didn’t even wait for the season to finish before getting underway. Kansas City and Washington made a blockbuster deal to send quarterback Alex Smith to the nation’s capitol before the Super Bowl. And that was just the beginning.
The league year doesn’t even open until March 14, and already we’ve got a long list of major moves to assess.
Welcome to the new NFL.
Grading offseason moves is a tricky thing because there’s so much more at play than just the numbers a player brings to his new team. It’s still probably easier than grading draft picks who haven’t even played a snap at the pro level. But it’s worth remembering that not everyone’s offseason champs see that magic translated on the field.
We’ll have to revisit these grades after the season ends. But for now, let’s assess!
(Signings and trades presented with the newest ones first and updated as they happen).
49ers sign CB Richard Sherman.
Grade: A
It’s a three-year deal worth as much as $39 million, which is reasonable for a top of the line starting corner who doesn’t turn 30 until the end of the month. He is coming off a torn Achilles, but expects to ready for camp.
Cornerback was probably the 49ers’ biggest offseason need. Sherman will pair with and mentor Ahkello Witherspoon as the starting corners, and now they can look for depth at the position.
But this move gets an A for the sheer hate, signing the player behind the rivalry between these two teams that will still face each other twice a year.
BROWNS’ BIG TRADIN’ BONANZA!
Browns trade DT Danny Shelton and a fifth-round pick to the Patriots for a 2019 third-round pick.
Grade: B for the Browns; A for the Patriots.
Shelton was a big part of the Browns’ actually good run defense last season. He’s on the last year of his rookie deal too — with the potential for a fifth-year option in 2019 — and carries a meager $2 million cap hit. However, they do have second-year DT Larry Ogunjobi to replace him.
The Patriots get a nice replacement for Alan Branch, who’ll probably be a critical part of another double-digit win campaign this year.
Packers trade CB Damarious Randall to the Browns for QB DeShone Kizer.
Grade: A
The Taylor and Landy deals generated the most excitement, but this was the shrewedest move of the bunch. Hue Jackson ruined Kizer’s tenure with the Browns last season ... a remarkable feat because it usually takes a couple years to get burned out by the Browns. He was destined to get cut. Instead, the Browns got a starting caliber cornerback out of the deal, and Kizer gets a fresh start.
They also swapped picks in the fourth and fifth rounds of this year’s draft.
Bills trade QB Tyrod Taylor to the Browns for a third-round pick.
Grade: A for both teams.
I don’t know why the Bills have been so anxious to move on from Taylor, but doing it this way is a win for everyone involved. Taylor gets to continue his career as a starter in the NFL. The Browns have a bridge quarterback while they groom a rookie, and the Bills get the 65th pick in the draft to give them two picks in each of the draft’s first three rounds and all the flexibility that comes with it.
The question here is whether Taylor suffers the fate that befalls most Browns quarterbacks. Maybe Todd Haley can drum up some version of the offense he ran in Pittsburgh, a working man’s version of the Steelers’ Three Bs (along with all the three or four head scratching WTF decisions Haley’s good for every week). Taylor’s threat as a runner is something the Browns will have to build into the offense too, which would be especially effective if they do draft Saquon Barkley.
Dolphins trade WR Jarvis Landry to the Browns for a fourth-round pick and a 2019 seventh-round pick.
Grade: B
A reliable, chain-moving slot receiver. His 74.5 career catch rate is nothing to overlook given the quarterbacks he’s had to work with in Miami. According to Pro Football Focus, he generated the sixth most yards from the slot last year and the most in 2016. Cleveland’s going to overpay him if they sign him to a contract extension, but that’s a luxury they can afford.
The Dolphins were pretty clear that Landry wasn’t in their plans, so getting a pair of picks for a guy they could’ve just let walk is a plus.
Eagles trade WR Torrey Smith to the Panthers for CB Daryl Worley
Grade: A for the Eagles. C for the Panthers.
Philadelphia has the smartest front office in the NFL. They don’t get enough credit for it either. Smith was the odd man out in the receiver rotation this year. Instead of just cutting him, the Eagles managed to get a depth corner with two years left on his rookie deal.
Carolina might have signed him for less than the $10 million left on the last two years of his deal. Smith does give the Panthers another speedy downfield threat, a position that thrives with Cam Newton running the offense.
Broncos trade CB Aqib Talib to the Rams for a fifth-round pick.
Grade: A
At 32, it’s hard to say just how much Talib has left, but he was still one of the league’s better corners last year. And at $11 million this year ($8 million next year), it’s not a bad deal for the Rams.
The Broncos had the depth at the position, inserting Bradley Roby into the starting job, and needed the cap space.
Rams trade LB Alec Ogletree and a 2019 seventh-round pick to the Giants for a fourth- and sixth-round pick.
Grade: B for the Giants just because his contract is a little pricey for the position. A for the Rams.
Ogletree never found his place in Wade Phillips’ defense. Cutting him wasn’t an option thanks to an extension that made him one of the highest paid linebackers in the league and would have left the Rams with $10 million in dead cap space. Fortunately for them, the Giants needed a coverage linebacker.
Seahawks trade DE Michael Bennett and a seventh-round pick to the Eagles for WR Marcus Johnson and a fifth-round pick.
Grade: B
The Seahawks settled for a little less than other teams were offering (the Patriots had a third-round pick on the table). But good on them for sending Bennett to a team where he’ll be more at home as part of an outstanding defensive line rotation.
Bills sign RB Chris Ivory.
Grade: F
Whyyyyyyyy? The Bills gave Ivory a two-year, $5.5 million contract, which isn’t going to break the bank or anything, but it just doesn’t make much sense as far as assembling a team. They already have a massive amount of money tied up in the position thanks to LeSean McCoy’s $40 million contract. Now, they’re bringing in a backup who hasn’t averaged more than 3.8 yards per carry in his last two seasons and fumbled seven times in that span.
Rams trade DE Robert Quinn and a sixth-round pick to the Dolphins for a fourth- and sixth-round pick.
Grade: B
Quinn’s never been the same player since injuries put him on the shelf for most of 2015 and 2016. Even without his All-Pro form, the Rams will miss the 8.5 sacks he had last season. It’s a big upgrade opposite Cam Wake in Miami’s four-man front, but one that gives the Dolphins more cap work to do, as usual.
Bills sign CB Vontae Davis.
Grade: A
Two years ago, Davis was one of the NFL’s handful of shutdown corners. Injuries have taken a toll since then, but a one-year deal worth $5 million means the Colts don’t necessarily need him to play at that level again. And if he does get back to that level, or close to it, so much the better for Buffalo and Davis.
We’re not going to grade off every little free move that happens this month, but these are the kind of deals that have a way of becoming the best kind of offseason pickups.
Chiefs trade CB Marcus Peters and a sixth-round pick to the Rams for a fourth-round pick and a 2019 second-round pick.
Grade: A for the Rams; C for the Chiefs.
Like I mentioned the other day, the Rams have the most dangerous secondary in the NFL now, thanks to a trio of smart offseason moves. It’s hard to believe the Chiefs couldn’t have gotten more for Peters, or just kept him because he’s a good player with one year left on his rookie deal (and the potential for a fifth-year option).
Chiefs trade QB Alex Smith to Washington for CB Kendall Fuller and a third-round pick.
Grade: A for the Chiefs. B for Washington.
Kansas City had no place for Smith this season and no room to carry that kind of cap hit for Pat Mahomes’ backup. Getting a third-round pick and a starting slot corner with two years left on his rookie deal is a big win.
Washington is a good landing spot for Smith. He slides into a competitive team with a talented cast around him. Still, it’s hard not to think that maybe Washington could’ve handled things better with Kirk Cousins.
