📢 We’re excited to share today our climate justice action guide 🌍🌱✊📢 Oftentimes, when discussing climate issues, there is more emphasis being put on what the impact of climate change has on the weather (heatwaves, floods, etc…). In addition to tackling extreme weather events, our blog post will also explore under discussed consequences of climate change, for instance how it affects food security and migration.
Most of all, the aim of our action guide is to equip our readers with knowledge and resources on how to play a part in the fight for climate justice. 🛑New Blog Post Coming Soon🛑 “It is a grave and worsening injustice that the impacts of climate change are felt the most by those people who are least responsible for rising carbon emissions and global temperatures.
Without justice, we will not have a fair, healthy and peaceful world. And without climate justice, we risk not even having a liveable planet for future generations.” - Mary Robinson
This year alone, numerous extreme weather events have been taking place around the world including the heatwaves in Europe, North America, Asia, the wildfires in Canada, Greece, Hawaii, the floodings in Norway, China and the droughts in South Sudan to name a few.
The intensity and frequency of those extreme weather events are attributed to climate change mainly caused by human activities and will only keep rising if left unaddressed. Thus, the fight for climate justice has become even more crucial.
What is key in achieving climate justice is to implement the solutions which will help eradicate the harmful effects of climate change to those who have contributed the least to climate change (for example: countries in the Global South, Indigenous Peoples, etc…), but are disproportionately affected by it.
On September 1, our climate justice action guide 🌍🌱✊ will be published! Be sure to check it out to enrich your knowledge on this pressing issue, discover the different ways you can play a role in ending climate injustice, and much more!
