Honestly, Darius and Bessus should take readers warnings seriously. Alexander will NOT show any mercy until he gets her back. Honestly, Alexander's initial reaction is more scary than if he simply flew into a rage like he did with Cleitus. He's clearly plotting something big.

My theory is that it will take him to Babylon. Like, maybe Darius orders Reader be taken there to keep her out of harms way (especially with her being pregnant). Alexander finds out where she is and leads his army there. At that point, the people of Babylon basically say "screw it, we're not getting destroyed for this," surrender to the Macedonians (like they did irl) let Alexander in and give him his wife back. Alexander and reader are reunited and thd story continues from there.

No matter how they end up in Babylon, I know you've hinted that the city will be important to the story. In a loveletter you posted a few months ago, Alexander described Babylon as the city wher he and reader's 'love' blossomed, so I think the city will mark an important turning point in their relationship. Idk, let me know how accurate my theories are...
