I am working as an animator so the drawing fatigue is making it hard to continue sometimes.

It's been on my mind ever since I finished Gintama. There was something missing. Something you'd expect a mid-2000s anime that was actively making fun of idol otaku, certain manga magazines' readers, and otaku in general to have.

After a while, I finally found the answer: no female character is a fujoshi. No girls nosebleeding over two guys being in situations (and there are plenty of situations). No girls creating yaoi doujinshi. I mean, Sayonara, Zetsubou-sensei (which is comparable to Gintama in terms of parodying everything, breaking the fourth wall, making references to every Japanese media, personality and event possible, and being generally incomprehensible to a non-japanese reader/viewer without ten lines of translator's notes for every line of dialogue and background gag) has a character whose name is literally Fujiyoshi Harumi (guess what her hobby is). And it's not the only anime to have a fujoshi character (e.g. Lucky Star, Black Butler, look at this long list of media to have fujoshi).

Come to think of it, it's only logical. You don't bite the hand that feeds you; you feed it back. And man, does Gintama feed its fujoshi. (I'm of the opinion that The DVD Covers were making fun of fujobait, not fujoshi)

And then it struck me. Gintama does not have any fujoshi, but it does have two fudanshi: each for one of the two most popular protagonist x rival ships.
