The Only One
Episode 7
prev | Fic Masterlist | My Masterlist | next
Summary: The last time you saw Poe was right before he blew up Starkliller Base - a huge victory for the Resistance. Things go to hell after that and you are separated from Poe, needing to rely on your instincts...and the Force. A huge secret starts to be revealed.
a/n: This Episode glosses over the events in the film The Last Jedi. You don't have to be knowledgeable about the sequel films to continue the story - everything that relates to Elia is summarized here. She is a bit separate from Poe during film events, so this is not a re-telling.
Pairing: Poe Dameron x female original character. Fic is written in second person, but the female "you" has a name (It reads basically the same as any other xreader)
Word Count: 1.6k
Content: violence, action, little angst (no more than in the films), not beta'd
PREVIOUSLY on "The Only One"...
He turned around one more time, granting you another sweet smile. “Wait for me, Ells. I’ll be right back.”
Somehow his humor and good nature gave you hope. Poe always gave you hope.
“May the Force be with you,” you whispered to no one really. Or, to all of them.
The next week was hell.
Which was, perhaps, what a demon like yourself deserved.
At first, the Resistance buzzed with the thrill of victory. Poe and his team destroyed Starkiller Base after Rebel legends Han Solo and Chewbacca worked together with the stormtrooper who defected and a young woman named Rey.
But before you could celebrate or have much of a reunion with Poe, the stormtrooper, who you learned was named Finn, was sent to medical in critical condition, while Rey supposedly flew away to find Luke Skywlaker.
Kylo Ren had murdered Han Solo.
You thought taking out Starkiller Base would give the Resistance a huge advantage in the uphill battle against the First Order, but the New Republic had suffered tremendous losses, crippling, if not obliterating support for the Resistance.
Your assignment kept you apart from Poe for days, so you hadn’t seen him since that fateful moment directly before the Starkiller Base battle.
...where he kissed you and asked you to wait for him.
So many had been lost since then - the chaos, nonstop. After the most recent attack took out most of Resistance command, someone named Holdo took over.
You were dying to see Poe, desperate to see for yourself that he was okay. Every time something else exploded, you felt sure you’d receive a report of his death. The stress piled up as you worked separately from Poe, thinking he might die, or you might die.
To make a desperate situation worse, the attack on the ship's bridge left Leia seriously wounded. And directly before Holdo took command, Poe was demoted, which infuriated you.
And, aside from the fact that you were (thankfully) able to focus, or hyper focus, as it were, on computer programming and other computer tech needs, the news of Commander Dameron's demotion was all you could think about...
...or talk about.
Thankfully, Perrha was with you for the past few days and was a wonderful grounding force for you.
Now, the Resistance was trying to safely land transports on the planet Crait.
Everyone watched in horror as one after the other, the First Order blew them out of the sky. You kept yourself busy working, tears streaming down your face at the thought of Poe being on one of those obliterated ships.
Poe felt the same way.
After maybe the worst week of his life (aside from when his mom died), Poe woke up from the little nap Leia's stun gun gave him. He listened patiently as Leia explained Holdo's plan, then watched in horror as transport after transport was obliterated.
"Where's Elia?" He asked Leia, as if she might somehow know. He had lost too many today, not only on the bridge, but when some of his closest friends died in the hangar explosion.
Leia shook her head, unsure.
Poe stared out into space. "Which one is she on?" He murmured, thankful that his new friend Finn was at least safe for the moment. Hopefully.
The planet's surface was so close. You and Perrha might make it through this. But who could be sure what awaited you on Crait, with the First Order bearing down hard?
As you entered the planet's atmosphere, the transport closest to yours exploded - near enough to your own that the blast and debris wreaked havoc. You were taking serious damage - hit hard enough to crash, just not to explode instantly like the neighboring transport.
Everyone around you was astoundingly calm, focused and professional, but a crash landing would not be avoidable.
Perrha's eyes met yours frantically as fire, debris and smoke filled the transport.
"We're not gonna make it," they gasped, coughing from all the smoke.
Panic gripped your heart. You didn't want to die. For once in your life, you really wanted to live and not just in terms of survival. You wanted to help the Resistance. You wanted them to win. You needed to learn about the Force, and ascertain from Leia if you were truly doomed to be a servant of the darkness.
Perrha was your friend and so was Poe. Your very best friend. Your heart broke as you thought of never seeing him again. It couldn't end this way.
So instead of giving in to despair, you opened yourself up to the flow of energy - no. The Force. A wall of fire swept through the transport.
"No." Your voice could barely be heard over the commotion. It wasn't a plea but a command.
Perrha cried out your name as you stretched out your hands and literally pushed the fire backward.
Your breathing steadied, your countenance - a mask of serenity. Your eyes fluttered closed as the Force surrounded you, flowed through you.
The fire would not touch you. Nor Perrha.
The remaining Resistance fighters watched from their transports, in awe, as a transport-on-fire gently touched down on the planet's surface.
You heard nothing. You only felt.
Calm.
Finally, you heard Perrha screaming your name. "This thing is gonna blow, come on!" They quite literally jerked you away - your boots thumping on the planet's surface as you ran for your life.
The ship exploded, knocking the survivors to the ground with a concussive force - dangerous, but not fatal.
Your ears rang, dusty salt filled your lungs, but Perrha hauled you up. You ran again, as fast as you had ever in your life.
The First Order had entered the planet's atmosphere and took up position at the mine entrance - the old Rebel base. Unfortunately, your transport's crash left you quite far away on foot. But thankfully, the First Order would assume your exploded crash site would leave no survivors - giving you time to run.
A battle raged overhead and in the distance. Blaster and cannon fire, and boot prints turned the ashy, salty surface blood red.
Your group finally made it to the mine, but there was no getting in the front entrance. The huge blaster door was sealed, but under heavy attack.
"Is there another way in?" You wondered aloud.
"Is there another way out?" Perrha countered, panicked. "Are they trapped in there?"
Your ragtag team rallied, determined to find a way to either get in to the safety of the mine, or help the remaining Resistance fighters escape, if they were trapped.
Suddenly you saw an old rust bucket ship zoom overhead and land at the edge of a shallow cliff.
Your team arrived just in time to see a young woman...making dozens of piles of rocks...float. This action served to clear a blocked path, allowing the Resistance fighters to escape the mine.
You saw the stormtrooper, Finn. The young woman must be Rey. You were so distracted by her dazzling display of the Force, that you almost didn't notice that just beside Finn...
was Poe.
Finn raced into Rey's arms for a hug, but it was Poe who noticed your ash-covered, singed, rag-tag crew, confused, for a moment, as to why you would have appeared with Rey.
"Elia," he breathed, pushing his way past anyone and everything in his path, including the huge boulders Rey had lifted moments before.
You were an adorable mess, most of your hair had tumbled out of your twin buns. Soot tarnished your cheeks and clothes. By some miracle your unlaced boots stayed in place while you ran for your life.
As Poe clambered toward you, your hands anxiously grabbed for your backpack straps…only to come up empty.
“M-my backpack,” you gasped, frantically touching your arms and chest.
Okay, people were dead.
Your transport crashed and exploded.
You only survived because you wielded the Force and ran for your life.
The First Order was bearing down.
Poe was alive!
But your brain?
“My backpack,” you repeated, desperately, craving the familiar soothing touchstone of its frayed straps.
“Here, sweetheart,” Poe gently offered, reaching for the fallen strap, to pull it back onto your shoulder. “Looks like the other one got burned.”
Which meant…
You grabbed for the other strap urgently, realizing the little pack might have been destroyed, leaving your wings out in the open.
Poe, so relieved to see you alive, wishing with all his heart that the could throw his arms around you, tried to understand…
“No, no no …” You shook your head, eyes wide with horror.
“Ells?” He asked, confused, holding up his hands in a supplicating manner, trying to show you he wouldn’t touch you if you didn’t want him to. “Baby, are you hurt?”
“I can’t…my backpack,” you gasped, short of breath. “I can’t…” Shaking your head rapidly, you backed away, running into Perrha…who got a look at your exposed back.
“Oh, Elia. A-are you - w-what happened…” they trailed off, glancing at Poe, confused at the sight of your tightly furled, dark wings. Perrha wasn’t sure if you were burned, or what was going on.
“What is it?” He demanded. “Is she hurt?” He reached for your arm to turn you around, but before his hand made contact, you clenched your fists and cried out.
“No!”
…sending tiny bits of rock flying outward from you body in every direction.
This got Rey’s attention.
As far as the young Jedi trainee knew, she and Leia were the only ones capable of this sort of thing.
Poe backed away, stunned, brushing bits of gravel from his face and hair, exchanging worried glances with Perrha, but determined to make sure you were all right.
He thought to approach you, but stopped short at a miraculous sight.
Your hair had tumbled down, beautiful and wild, your eyes closed in concentration.
Hands clenched by your sides, you held yourself still as bits of rock and earth circled you slowly.
And behind you, dark, slick wings unfurled.

star wars for the fandom question game 👀
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away…
Hopefully tumblr mobile and I don’t screw this one up
Favorite Male character - As a kid it was Han Solo, but more recently he’s been dethroned by the Mandalorian 😍 we’re all suckers for a mysterious stranger right?
Favorite Female character - Princess Leia. She was the character I wanted to be as a kid. As cool as the various jedi were I’d rather have her confidence and will than whatever powers the Force could give.
Least Favorite character - Shockingly it’s not Kylo Ren lol. It’s Anakin. I haven’t finished the animated Clone Wars series so I’ll hold off a little judgement but no matter how he’s been presented he’s never come across as sympathetic or interesting to me. He’s not cool until he becomes Vader.
Favorite Ship - The Millennium Falcon . Han/Leia, can’t go wrong with the originators of “I love you.” “I know.” I really like Jyn/Cassian too, in any form romantic or platonic
Favorite friendship - The dynamic of the original trio is hard to beat, but I also really enjoyed Poe and Finn in the newer movies. They deserve a series!
Favorite Quote - Sooooo many ones from Andor!!!! I think Luthen Rael’s “I burn my life to make a sunrise that I know I’ll never see.” goes hard though and I love it
Worst character death - Han’s wasn’t great. I used to cry almost every time Yoda died in RotJ when I was little though hahaha
This made me so happy you have no idea Moment - Din taking off his helmet to say goodbye to Grogu at the end of Mando season 2. It’s kinda a cop out to say an entire episode but seriously every second of “One Way Out” in Andor had me gleeful. What an episode!!!!
Saddest moment - Han’s death got to me the first time I saw it. Hard to watch a childhood fav go no matter how it’s done. The Acolyte as a whole was pretty sad but I’m still processing it so it’s on my mind.
Favorite location - I’m partial to Hoth because I love the snow (and the walker fight!) but Endor and the redwood trees is so pretty it wins

Day 30 - Life Day Damerey Celebration
Prompt: Life Day
Summary: Poe's thoughts of Life Day after personal loss
Notes: I wrote this the day after Christmas last year, the first Christmas without my mom, and it kind of sums up what the holiday was like for me that year. 2022 was by far the worst year of my life.
On the day before I posted this, I received a negative... well, not a review, but a comment... on one of my Modern AU stories.
It made me wonder how, when so many people are just trying to live their lives the best they can through horrors and depression and thoughts of suicide, why someone would take the time to hate on someone they don't even know. My writing and sharing of fanfiction has literally kept me going through all the above, so I want to thank those of you who take the time to say good things, nice things, and who understand exactly what I have been going through, because they have been there.
Thank you.
Warnings: Talk of the death of a loved one
AO3
Poe sat quietly by himself on the far side of the room, watching the many people that filled the space, but not seeing them.
He hadn’t wanted to come tonight, but Finn had begged him to, and he couldn’t deny the people he loved anything. Finn’s excuse was that it was the first Life Day since he and Rose had been married, and Poe supposed that was an okay thing to be happy about. Firsts were important. Your first Life Day married. Your first Life Day after a war. Your first Life Day after a child was born.
Your first Life Day since your father died.
Kes Dameron had passed away over ten standard months ago, and Poe had thought he was done grieving and mostly back to normal, but the holiday reminded him that normal would never be the same. He would never stop grieving. Not really. It would come and go, ebb and flow, but it would never end. As long as he loved his father, he would mourn his father.
Life Day had always been a big deal in the Dameron household. Even after his mother died, his father managed to keep the traditions they had all celebrated together the same. Only now did Poe realize how hard that must have been for his dad, and he knew the grieving man had only done it for Poe. Every year, Life Day was celebrated with traditional songs, foods, and gift giving. Even when Poe wasn’t home on Yavin IV, they still found time to connect and share with each other the events of the day. Only during the few years of the war had they not done this, if only because Poe didn’t dare contact his father; there was no way he was taking the chance that the First Order would find Kes and use him against Poe, who had been on their Most Wanted list for years.
But then the war had ended. Poe was able to go home, and he and his friends were able to celebrate Life Day together at the Dameron Homestead. Within two years, Poe was married, had become a prominent advisor for the New Republic’s Department of Defense, and had become a father. Life was perfect.
Until Kes informed Poe he had been diagnosed with lung cancer.
The doctors believed it was a result of Kes’ exposure to toxic gases used by the Empire during the Galactic Civil War. Though minimal, it had eventually caught up with him. Poe and his family took leave from their respective jobs and came to Yavin IV immediately. They were by Kes’ side when he died two weeks later.
Life had gone on. Slowly but surely, things became better. Poe had dealt with death many times. Two of his best friends, Muran and Snap, both died in their fighters right before his eyes. Commanders and those under his command, friends and former friends. The hardest death had been Leia’s, but the eminent attack from Palpatine’s fleet had prevented him from focusing too much on that loss until much later. He had loved them all in one way or another, but none had been his father.
Now it was Life Day, that special holiday that he and his father had always managed to share the same delight in. And now his father was gone.
He wasn’t mad at the people around him for celebrating. He wasn’t jealous of their joy. In reality, he simply felt nothing. No sorrow. No resentment. He was just… empty.
It was while the group in front of him started singing one of his favorite songs for Life Day, Gaudete, a familiar and beloved presence appeared next to him. He closed his eyes, letting the ancient High Galactic language play in his ears as the feeling of comfort and peace filled him. The Force. Sometimes he thought it was the only thing that had gotten him through the last few months.
He felt his wife, the bearer of that powerful Force energy, tuck her hand under his arm and lay her head on his shoulder. She he never strayed far from his side this past horrible year, despite the fact they both had obligations away from each other. Even when they were apart, if he started having a depressive episode, she would know, and come to him. She claimed she wasn’t using the Force to read his emotions, but that she could simply tell by his voice, his body language, the look in his eye even over a holocom. And when she was with him again, life became bearable once more.
Which told him that it wasn’t the Force that had kept him going.
It was Rey.
She never pushed him to talk, but she listened when he did. She never told him he should talk to a councilor, but she encouraged him when he chose to. She never pressured him to ‘just do it’ when he didn’t want to. She was his silent support, her strength and love palpable, even to a non-Jedi like him. He asked her once how she could still be there after so many months of his moodiness and disassociation. She reminded him that he had done the same for her during the months following Exegol. It was how she fell in love with him.
And as Poe felt her physical and mental warmth fill him, he realized with a strange certainty that he was falling in love with her, all over again.
He heard the familiar giggle of his daughter, and looked over to see Suralinda dancing to the music with the almost 2-year-old toddler in her arms. Little Leia had a huge smile on her face, her cheeks rosy red from the excitement of the evening. For the first time in days, Poe felt a real smile form on his lips, and a new determination in his heart.
He would grieve this first Life Day without his father, as was expected. But by next year, his little girl would start making memories of her own, and Poe was determined to make them as good as his own memories were.
He looked at his wife, letting is smile carry over to her. She smiled back, then picked up his hand and kissed the back of it. “Happy Life Day, Poe.”
“Happy Life Day, my love.”

What do you think about the way Poe literally jolts up as soon as Finn holds him after the explosion in TLJ?
Could it be some sort of trauma related to what he endured while being captured?
Baby boy has pure and utter panic in his eyes before he sees it's just Finn, I honestly think that the aftermath of everything that's happened to him in TFA is not discussed enough.
Oh my goodness, a Poe ask, thank you so much, Nonnie 🥰
And omg there are so many thoughts that come up while watching this little scene!
To some extent his reaction can probably be explained by the fact that he is still right in the middle of an extremely dangerous situation. His adrenaline levels must be going through the roof at this point. So after what just happened, it may even appear to seem normal for his body to be in fight or flight modus at this very moment when he jolts at Finn.
However. By the time we get to the events occurring in TLJ, Poe has been in constant flight or fight modus for years. This poor and sweet and wonderful man experienced his first major traumatizing event when he was only eight years old and had to witness the death of his Mom. And his teenage years weren’t exactly smooth sailing, either, the few months that span the events in “Free Fall” alone were just one life-threatening situation after another and he was never really presented with any opportunity to recover from any of those. So when he is brought onto the Finalizer in TFA, he is most likely already suffering from severe C-PTSD.
And then, of course, there is his interrogation, which would have been enough to break any man, even one without a history of trauma. And Poe just keeps on going as if nothing happened after that. Sometimes it’s easy to forget that TLJ takes place only a few days after the events in TFA, but, uhm… to come back to your question, yes, I absolutely think that his reaction is a trauma response!
And I couldn’t agree more, it isn’t discussed enough, that’s why we need a whole Poe Dameron tv show (with 10 seasons minimum, please)!!!
But even though it isn’t discussed enough, imho the aftermath is plain to see in Oscar’s acting. Just in case you haven’t come across it yet, may I recommend this excellent post by @userpoe laying out several symptoms of PTSD that Poe shows in all the movies. I’d even go as far as saying that most of his actions that seemed to be out of character or earned him hate by the “fans” can be traced back to Poe being a deeply traumatized man. Like, e.g. his very short temper with Threepio. We know that’s not how Poe usually acts towards droids. Apart from his incredibly sweet way of interacting with BB-8 (and his love interest in “Resistance”) we literally see him behaving very different towards Threepio himself in the Poe comics. And, of course, there is that very character-revealing moment on Kijimi in TROS, and the pain you can see in Poe’s eyes when Threepio is taking “one last look at my friends”. This movie has so many moments that were most likely added for a cheap laugh by the writers but that fit so smoothly into Poe’s history with PTSD, whether it’s his annoyance with Threepio or his display of trust issues when he wonders whether Rey’s been using her jedi powers on Finn and him.
I am sorry, I have digressed way beyond your original question.
But, may I just add, apart from Poe showing clear signs of trauma, it’s also a little heartbreaking to watch how he doesn’t even take a moment to think of himself when Finn asks him whether he is all right? Apart from the wounds to his heart and soul, his body must hurt like hell after being subjected to that explosion (and I bet he didn’t even take as much as a little casual trip to the med bay) and he doesn’t even stop to give Finn a short “I am okay.” He immediately jumps to thinking about what needs to be done to save everybody else. (And of course, then there’s that wonderful moment when we see Leia mirroring his thought process which will never stop making me emotional.)

If the Sequel Trilogy followed the narrative of TFA
My hypothetical rewrite of the Sequel Trilogy that would've made it more in line with the original vision of TFA.
Episode VIII would be Shadow Of The Sith
Episode IX would be Children Of The Force
Notice. For the sake of things I will be saying this is a world where Carrie never died.
Rey is Luke's daughter
Leia trains Finn while Luke trains Rey
The force bond is between Rey and Finn, while Kylo Ren wants to break that bond and make Rey dependent on him
The remnants of the New Republic and The Resistance unite to face the First Order and it is now the United Republic.
Big space battles to make it feel like a larger than life war and less low sped chase and stupid yo mama jokes
Reveal that the Knights Of Ren are a mix of the Jedi who followed Kylo Ren and dark side cultists who bowed before Kylo Ren when he killed their leader.
I would keep Rose, but abandon Paige, because I feel like Paige's role could've gone to Jessika Pava. Rose would be the engineer/intelligence officer and Jessika would be her pilot girlfriend
Climax of VIII. Giant space battle over Ach-To lead by Leia and Snoke via Battle Meditation. Leia's will vs Snoke's might. Leia wants to save her brother and Rey, while Snoke wants to snuff out the light.
Kylo Ren and the Knights Of Ren fights Rey, Finn and Luke in the climax of VIII. Kylo cuts Finn's hand off and the Knights have Luke at their mercy and Rey gives herself up to save Luke and her friends
Episode IX is about Luke, Finn and the United Republic to save Rey and ending the First Order
Rey is the tipping point to Kylo Ren's plans to overthrow Snoke. While Snoke plans to turn Rey against Kylo Ren.
Stormtrooper Rebellion is Finn's version of freeing his friends from Jabba, in this case freeing his family and Rose helps him. It ends with Finn decapitating Phasma and thus being known as the Phasma slayer
After this Finn meets his sister Jannah and we'd find that Finn and Jannah are the grandchildren of Mace Windu(there would be canon material for this. Mace Windu lives and is taken care of the very people who he saved during the Clone Wars. He is nursed back to health and feels like he lost his place as a Jedi for failing the chosen one and failing to stop the rise of the Empire, so he goes into exile. He becomes a farmer and falls in love and they start a family. Mace Windu lived to see the end of the Empire and the fall of the Sith and dies in peace.)
Rey, Kylo and the Knights Of Ren would face Snoke. Snoke dies physically but takes over Kylo's body.
Cut out Zorii Bliss and replace her with an undercover Jacen Syndulla and see that he's Poe's boyfriend
Rey and Finn would battle, similarly to Revan and Bastila's fight in KOTOR with the fight being for Finn to freeing Rey from her darkness.
Luke and Leia would confront Snoke. We'd learn that Snoke was Darth Plagueis and overtime he was playing the long game after Palpatine's betrayal. The destruction of both Jedi and Sith Orders and his First and Final Order would reign over the galaxy. Snoke reveals he needed Ben Solo, the heir to Vader and the Skywalker family for his new vessel and if they stop him in his new form, he will just take Rey and teases "maybe I will just force them to create vessels for me". Twisted, but that's what the dark side does to you.
Plagueis reveals that his plan is not only for the extinction of the Jedi, but the death of the force. He wasn't just abducting children for his army. He ordered Hux and Phasma to abduct the force sensitive children around the world and the rebuilding of the Dark Reaper and the force harvesters
To replace his lost army because of the Stormtrooper Rebellion, Plagueis uses the Darkside to create the perfect army to spread his darkness, chaos and disease. The Plague troopers
A battle between the free Stormtroopers and Plagueis' Sith Troopers
Space battle between the Final Order and the United Republic. Lando leading the fight against Hux. Poe and Rose work together to destroy the dark reaper. Rose recreates the Mass Shadow Generator and uses it to destroy the Dark Reaper and Poe lands the final kill shot that destroys Hux's Super Star Destroyer
Finn breaks through to Rey and they embrace in a kiss
Luke, Leia, Rey, Jannah and Finn face Snoklo and the Knights Of Ren
When Plagueis seems to be at a weak point, he drains the life force from the KOR. "Your service is at a end, my fair knights"
Near the end of the fight, Rey and Finn mortally wounds Kylo Ren, thus forcing Plagueis to leave his dying body. Plagueis prepares to take Rey's body, but in his final moments Ben Solo returns and takes Plagueis life force and sacrifices himself to save Rey and his family. He asks Rey and Finn to kill him. In his final moments he tells Luke and Leia that he's sorry for everything. Rey and Finn kills Plagueis and Ben with him while Ben achieves redemption.
A bit of life force of Plagueis survives and still plans to take Rey, but the force ghosts of Anakin, Obi-Wan and Yoda appear and drags Plagueis into the depths of the Force, where every deceased Jedi would ensure his dark essence would never again return to wreak havoc upon the galaxy. There he would experience disembodiment in darkness, perpetual madness as if to always live with an open wound; terror without respite.
Movie ends with Leia being crowned as Queen of the United Republic. The once child soldiers of The First Order become the civilians and soldiers of this New Republic. A ceremony where Poe, Jacen, Rose and Jessika are crowned as heroes of the Republic. Jannah being the first Padawan of the new Jedi Order. A wedding between Rey and Finn and a tease of Rey and Finn as the New Jedi that rises, the Skywalkers.

I don't often think about how I would have wanted the Star Wars sequels to play out, because I am firmly a "lightsabers cool" level fan and happy about it.
But I wanted one specific thing from the third movie. Because I am easy and a sap, and it appeals so dearly to me. Simple setup: Kylo Ren has alienated every single being in the galaxy, removing all desire for anyone to help him by just sinking further and further into rage -- Rey was the last person left willing to try, and will 100% shoot him in the head if she sees him. It's a running gag, it never works, but she always hopes it will and gives her and Finn a moment to throw the lightsaber back and forth because they're multiclass heroes.
No Palpatine stuff, just Kylo Ren actively digging the hole deeper and taking the whole galaxy down with him while the heroes do Hero Stuff and look amazing doing it.
(Because this is a daydream, throw in Leia flashbacks of every moment she ever had in Darth Vader's presence, her revulsion at being his child and her joy at having a twin, and the complicated quagmire of emotion that is her brother choosing to find good in a monster, and wondering if her refusal to entertain the thought with Vader is why her son won't come back to her. No one person is worth another Alderaan. She loves him and loves him and loves him, but. She dreams of killing Vader and the face behind the mask is never Anakin Skywalker's.)
Explosions, battles, blaster fire making cool pew pew noises, epic dual-fighting moments with Finn and Rey vs. Kylo Ren -- whatever, take your backdrop and run with it, mostly.
All I wanted from Kylo Ren's plot was for his uncle to come back and haunt him with love until it took. No one has any patience for him anymore. Except this one ghost who sits with him after he's destroyed his fourth console that day and calls him Kid.
In the end, Luke brings his nephew back.
(What does this do for the rest of the movie's plot? idk idc, let Ben wander off to Naboo or something, all of the Hero Cast under the impression that he's dead and they're quite unconcerned about it. He stares out at it all in the spot where his grandparents wed, his uncle at his side. Breathes. Finishes recording a very awkward sign-off. There is a Windows 98 screen transition over to Leia, rolling her eyes and leaving one of the many restoration meetings she's had this week to figuratively slam the door of her quarters shut. She sits back in a chair, disables several security protocols, opens an unmarked case and plugs something into her comlink. "Greetings, Mother," a stilted voice begins. The camera angle changes, and Luke sits behind her, watching. She takes a moment to look back. She doesn't say it out loud, because everyone in the building practically through a party over Kylo Ren's death and she doesn't blame them, but she mouths, "Thank you," as Ben's apology gets stiffer and more rambly and worse in the background. She falls asleep in her chair and doesn't dream. Roll credits.)

Whatever it takes
Pairing: Poe Dameron x Fem reader
Description: After nearly getting killed and trying to help the resistance you and Poe begin to have a strain in your relationship that you both are determined to keep
A strangled smile fell from your face it kills me that I hurt you this way the worst part is that I didn't even know now there's a million reasons for you to go but if you can find a reason to stay
You and Poe had been friends for years and the bond formed even more after you fell for each other and thanks to general Organa the two of you got together and everything was amazing even with some injuries or crazy situations but after what happened a month ago it slowly changed.
I'll do whatever it takes to turn this around I know what's at stake I know that I've let you down and if you give me a chance believe that I can change I'll keep us together whatever it takes she said if we're gonna make this work
It started after you found out poe was captured by Kylo Ren and decided to go alone to rescue him but that was just the beginning of a crazy adventure that would begin the war against the first order after returning to D'qar with Finn who you met after they got separated reuniting with poe.
You gotta let me inside even though it hurts don't hide the broken parts that I need to see she said like it or not it's the way it's gotta be you gotta love yourself if you can ever love me I'll do whatever it takes to turn this around I know what's at stake I know that I've let you down and if you give me a chance and give me a break I'll keep us together
You felt each other drift away after he got demoted and you went through a near death experience by Captain Phasma and you felt the strain getting worse as you felt everything fall apart being pulled aside by Leia when you started crying after Poe leaves the room from yelling at you "You got to fix this or it will never work out I know you love each other talk to each other" you smile hugging her and running after poe to his quarters.
I know you deserve much better remember the time I told you the way I felt and that I'd be lost without you and never find myself let's hold on to each other above everything else start over start over
You both talked and talked apologizing and promising not to let the things around you, the things that happened to you, or the war happening to separate the two of you sealing the promise with a kiss helping and fighting against the first order until the war finally ended in victory and the world was saved.
I'l do whatever it takes to turn this around I know what's at stake I know that I've let you down and if you give me a chance believe that I can change I'll keep us together whatever it takes
You both continue to talk and comfort each other during hard times no matter where you two are or what one of you is doing you both stop and talk always sealing the promises you make to each other with a tight hug and an affectionate kiss that strengthen your relationship thanks to not only your love for each other but also the person that brought you two together general organa.

TROS is a hitman which not only destroyed SW but all leading characters in the ST
Here's my Top Ten:
10. Snoke.
Yes, Snoke. Throughout both TFA and TLJ it was very much stressed that he was NOT a Sith. His eyes were blue, not yellow. Instead, TROS 'reimagined' him as a cloned puppet of the Emperor. Who was as bad at cloning him as he was with Rey's father, as for some reason the clones were all disfigured.
9. Rose. She had a great role in TLJ, and her character was completely stripped of her importance and reduced to a single line. And I refuse to believe it was because of Carrie's untimely death.
8. Holdo. Even though she died in TLJ, her character's self sacrifice was presented as an object of ridicule in TROS, which isn't only unfair but petty and childish.
7. Hux. He could - and should - have been the 'big bad' of the sequel's final chapter, but no, Hux is unceremoniously killed off five minutes into the film and prior to that revealed as a Resistance 'mole' - this goes completely against everything he was. Hux loathed the Resistance with a passion, it was completely out of character for him to join them, just to get rid of Kylo - there were plenty of ways to 'off' him without turning traitor.
6. Poe. Rian Johnson did a great job with Poe, he became more than a Han Solo wannabe in TLJ. Instead of becoming Leia's heir he was turned into a seedy drug runner - he was supposed to be the son of legendary Rebels, FFS!
5. Luke. Remember how angry he was when Obi Wan admitted he'd lied to him about who his father was? He told Rey he didn't know her in TLJ. Now, apparently, he DID but had kept the truth from her. Luke is now a liar, full stop.
4.Finn. He had a great character arc in TLJ. All that was gone in TROS, his 'grand announcement' that he had the Force was a damp squib and all he was good for was running around screaming 'REEEEEEEEY'. I'm genuinely stunned JB calls TROS his 'favourite' of the sequels....but there ya go.
3. Rey. Our likeable, feisty, gloriously flawed 'nobody' is completely deconstructed into a snotty, self righteous, judgemental little space nun. She was like an evil reflection of herself. The Rey we were introduced to in the first two films wept for Han Solo (although she'd only known him five minutes), longed for a family, lost her temper and was called out on it, and most of all was human. What is particularly irksome is post TFA Abrams insisted that she was 'not a Skywalker'....and then they made her one anyway.
TROS Rey was an emotionless two legged example of Jedi dogma. She actually gave me the creeps.
2. Kylo Ren/Ben Solo. Poor Kylo. Even more, poor Ben. He went through a complete character reversal in the first part of the film. Where like Snoke, it was stressed he was not a Sith, in TROS he made deals with them. When it was insisted upon that he was not Darth Vader, he acted just like him complete with that ridiculous mask.
The final part of the film when Ben returns should have been glorious. Instead, he spent most of it down a hole while Rey got the 'glory' of killing her grandad. No dialogue. No role in destroying his family's old enemy. And then....poof. Gone. Ben Solo's only legacy is that he 'gave Rey back to the galaxy.'
And she didn't even tell anyone.
1 Leia.
And....the number one is our beloved Princess, Leia Organa.
The cruelest character assassination of them all is that of Leia, child of Anakin and Padme, sister of Luke, husband of Han Solo, mother of Ben Solo, adopted daughter of Bail Organa, Senator, warrior, courageous leader and General of the Resistance.
Re imagined by Terrio's loathsome fan fiction as being in an afterlife GoT style incestuous relationship with her brother. And a woman who didn't give a damn for her own child.
TFA Leia made mistakes. Like her husband, she was afraid of her son being like his grandfather. She left him to be raised by droids. She sent him away at nine.
But...TFA Leia knew she'd made mistakes. She admitted that she never should have sent her son to Luke. And she wanted him back. Desperately so.
We could forgive TFA Leia because she knew she was wrong and owned up to it - as did, in fact. all of the OT cast. And we could forgive her for sending Ben to Luke, because TFA and TLJ Leia didn't know how to train him in the ways of the Force. Leia was NOT a Jedi. She didn't know how to train Ben, so thought it a good idea to send him to someone who did.
That however was TFA and TLJ Leia. The Leia I loved and believed in.
TROS introduced her to someone I didn't recognise.
TROS Leia DID have Jedi training. She might have quit, but she had enough knowledge to be able to train Rey. Train her well enough to fight and almost kill Kylo. AKA Ben.
AKA the child Leia had given birth to.
TROS Leia had sent her emotionally vulnerable nine year old away so she could focus on her career, despite having the ability to train him herself. She then trained the woman who she knew might very well kill him, and after her death...'took him with her into the Force'.
Her FG is later seen smiling fondly on Rey. It wouldn't have been quite so bad - although I still would have hated it - if Ben's FG had been beside her and we would have seen him with his mother. But, no.
According to a source Terrio wanted the 'final scene to be all about the Skywalkers.'
Rey is a Palpatine. I will never see her now as anything else. And Leia had the Skywalker blood, but she was an Organa and then a Solo.
Terrio and perhaps Abrams, made sure that everything of Ben's went to Rey. His grandfather's lightsabre. His father's ship. Whatever relationship he had with Chewie. Luke's respect.
And....Leia's love.
What a terrible, terrible way to treat Leia. And how they disrespected Carrie, a mother in real life to Billie Catherine, with this abominable assassination of her most well loved role.
TROS is an abomination. I will never be able to understand why they chose to retcon TLJ....yet leave this horror story as set - in - stone canon.

Would you have done something completely different with the Sequel Trilogy?
Thank you for the question anon! I love these.
I'm not sure if you are asking me whether I'd do a completely different story for the Sequel Trilogy or if I would have made changes to the films we got. Frankly, I don't know if I would have changed a whole lot about the basic premise of the trilogy. I love all of the characters and I think its metatextual themes about myth and legacy are doing some interesting things when they appear. But, there are quite a few small changes I would make to The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi and some very large changes I'd make to The Rise of Skywalker.
The First Order vs. Resistance / New Republic conflict is maybe the trilogy's original sin that causes a lot of the problems that follow. I think the idea of having the First Order be a group of neo-fascists that are obsessed with restoring an authoritarian government that few directly experienced is a smart idea and the natural step for a trilogy spanning conflict. It also feels incredibly relevant to today's current political struggles. I think the issues start to show up when they are established as this uber powerful galaxy conquering group instead of a very dangerous and underestimated faction of extremists. On a purely aesthetic level it would help differentiate them from the Empire but it also would put a fun spin on the original trilogy's formula rather than directly copying it. I do also like the general idea that The New Republic is generally dismissive of The First Order as a danger to the galaxy and that Leia had to take things into her own hands to get things done. But! I would've liked to see this explained a bit more clearly in The Force Awakens. If you aren't reading the supplementary material, the exact political make up of the galaxy at the start of the film isn't clearly established and I wouldn't blame you if you missed it entirely.
Nix Starkiller base. I think that in general the criticisms that The Force Awakens is a retread of A New Hope are a bit exaggerated, but the annoyance of having yet another Death Star is where I start to feel that there is some merit. It's unnecessary. It would be just as, if not more affecting, if The First Order had some well planned attack that they were able to pull off right under the New Republic's nose. A fascist government that's able to overthrow a better funded democratic government through tactics and corruption is a way scarier threat than another planet exploding ball.
Make the Knights of Ren more prevalent. I like the current canon of them being their own, self motivated faction of Dark Sider, but the original understanding that they were other disaffected disciples of Luke's makes much more sense and feels more dramatically interesting to me. I would have liked to see them as a more consistent presence in the series. It also would have been a fun payoff if part of the reason that Kylo ends up aiding the fight against Palpatine in The Rise of Skywalker is because the rest of the Knights are seduced away from his leadership.
Give Chewbacca something to do. We needed his hug with Leia in The Force Awakens. We needed a grief arc for him in The Last Jedi. We needed to have him find some sort of future or purpose in The Rise of Skywalker. This is one of the most beloved Star Wars characters of all time, but his role for most of the trilogy is minimal despite the clear emotional trauma at its center.
Finn needs his stormtrooper rebellion arc. I actually don't hate the general shape of Finn's story in The Last Jedi as much as most people, but I do think that The Force Awakens sets up a story about his connection to other First Order infantry in a way that is never properly followed up on. I'd love to lean into that further and actually make that a story that is followed up on. Also make him and Poe boyfriends.
No Rey Palpatine. I'm actually not opposed to Sidious being the final villain of the trilogy. I think the First Order being a facet of his resurgence to power makes a lot of sense and I'm even down for the idea that Snoke was a being that was wittingly or unwittingly under Palpatine's control the whole time. But Rey Palpatine is a no go for me. The end thrust of the story where she assumes the Skywalker name could be done without making her the literal progeny of Sidious. Sidious could still want to use her as a powerful Force user without her being his granddaughter. You could keep most of the struggles she has with purpose and legacy in The Rise of Skywalker without having to bubble the full saga down into a war between bloodlines.
No clean cut redemption for Kylo Ren. Star Wars is a series about forgiveness and second chances and I am ultimately fine with Kylo making his steps back towards the light by the end of the trilogy, but I just don't buy him becoming a swashbuckling hero at the end of The Rise of Skywalker and I absolutely don't buy any romantic/sexual relationship with Rey. The most interesting scenario would have been to have Kylo work against Palpatine originally as a way to secure his own power and as an extension of his "burn it all down" ideology from The Last Jedi, but gradually begin to work towards more moments of direct aide for the heroes and more moments of direct selflessness. I'm torn on whether he should live or die at the end of the trilogy, but leave him with work to do is the way to go. So much of the series was about him choosing the dark at every opportunity offered to him, I think seeing him finally choose the light at the end would be powerful, but it shouldn't be an easy path at all.
Anakin Force Ghost.

The generals darling (yandere!Armitage hux x reader) WIP
read it on the AO3 at https://ift.tt/7oM1LR9
by CannibalCorpse193
The reader and hux are reunited childhood friends who both had a similar life for the most part and were separated in college aka military training but end up meeting again because kylo ren seems to has been dating the heroic lieutenant. As the events of the sequel trilogy happen kylo through the force finds out his soulmate is rey and breaks it off with the reader leaving hux to take them and slowly mold everything around then to make Y/N fall for him and get the thrown he deserves even if he hasn't to somehow murder snoke himself or even team up with kylo ren. In the end is it worth it and will you save him like he has saved you even if your trapped and forced to be his queen/king...even if there's nothing left but him and the first order. Either way your trapped with your new genocidal soulmate who murdered your abusive family for you 🤭❤ so romantic (WIP may change it up a bit give me suggestions if you want it's much appreciated)

Star Wars: The Last Jedi Rewatch Part 4
Rey "If you see Finn before I do, tell him..."
Chewie Gurgles
Rey "Yeah, perfect. Tell him that."
To anyone who thinks this is a one-sided friendship.
It was honestly very brave of Rey to go alone to the First Order. She had a lot of faith in Ben/Kylo Ren cause she really didn't have a plan except to plead with him I guess.
We might have gotten a hint of their sexual tension before but it's full pride and prejudice here. The novel goes a little bit more in depth and it's canon from Rian/Adam that Ren wanted to kiss her her.
General Holdo is a great leader but is there a reason she couldn't just communicate her plan to get Poe off her back, it seems like it could've saved some trouble. 3PO running off to not be party to a munity hahahahaha
Leia coming back in time to dip out and knock out Poe. It's a great scene between Holdo and Leia about strength and leadership.
The throne room scene is brilliant just all around. The acting, the direction, the production, the look of it all. Snoke didn't bridge their minds though not sure where that came from, writing wise. Rey be patient with our boy, Ren, you didn't have a plan and he's having to come up with one on the spot. Adam driver played Ren's neutrality perfectly.
Rey in plucky but she Lord she did not think this through. Ren, not one for patience or controlling his temper, actually locked it up this scene to save them both. I didn't see this in theaters so I'm curious what the reaction to him killing Snoke was. Bet it was wild. Then the moment when they lock eyes like "you with me?" and here is this iconic moment. Power lightsaber couple.
I keep forgetting that Finn used to be in The First Order. General Hux, Phasma and company have known him for a long time. Hence the bitch slap Hux gives Finn haha.
I'm so annoyed that once explained to Poe, he agrees it's a good plan and stops trying to interfere.
We also see Ren at his full fighting level. Novice Rey wouldn't have beaten him. He's beating several trained individuals at once. He's finally freed in a way he's longed to be by choosing Rey.
The cinematography during this film doesn't get enough credit. Like at all. You can see that this film is a labor of love.
That moment when Rey thinks he's Ben only for Kylo Ren to be like hey girl, still here. It's a great scene, can't say that enough. It does go to further illustrate that there isn't any place these two can hide from one another. It's what makes them seen though and fully connected in a way they've never been to another person. Yeah, they ain't letting this go.
The fighting over the lightsaber. Beautiful visual.
General Holdo after watching some boat blow up, moves to action and goes out like a G. Seriously she needed to do something or she was the only about to survive. The sound production, once again, is just amazing.
Finn and Phasma fight is nice and it's wonderful watching him more and more confront his problems instead of running away from them. Rose and Finn could've at least had soot covered clothing. I mean something. They look pristine here. Overlay aside this is a beautiful shot of Leia.
I just love the shot with the planes. The trail of red like blood over the white salt. In the resistance typical shitty ass equipment. At least it makes sense here why they have poor equipment.
I do love that Kylo makes a competent leader if not an emotional one. I wonder if he had a moment to enjoy finally becoming boss. It's what even his grandfather never managed to do. It's obvious that he takes no pleasure in it. He wanted Rey there with him.
hahah General Hux and Ren are just chef's kiss.
Rose crashing into Finn was stupid. Finn dying a heroic death would've been better or at least no pointless. The kiss was undeserved. Finn looked grossed out and confused. Or Rose could've died the heroic death, I don't know, but this is trash. However, people need help if they personally attack actors cause they don't like their characters.
Luke Skywalker finally shows up. I will say this moment of finally stepping up feels so deserved cause we watched him bullshit for the entire movie. It also brings it around that ultimately Luke is a symbol at this point. His job wasn't about beating the First Order or even Kylo Ren, it was about having something (someone) to believe in. Leia and Luke had such a touching scene where you can see the love between them as characters and actors.
Kylo Ren testosterone kicks in and he's gotta fight Kylo Ren Mano e Mano. It's a great character beat. Luke wouldn't, nor could he, kill his nephew no more than he could kill his father. He did a very unorthodox heroic thing very in league with his legacy, he bought them time to escape without being violent towards his kin. The moment Kylo Ren realized he's fake though ha! what a moment.
Finally Rey and Finn reunite. There's more chemistry, relief and connection in this wordless hug than in every single one of FinnRose's scenes.
Finally, the death of Luke Skywalker. It's peaceful, purposeful, heroic and full circle which is more than Han got. Staring at those two suns we're called back to his days on tattooine.
The last forcetime between is filled with so much emotion, again without a word spoken. Allowing actors to emote and not always just speak is the sign of a great writer and director. Ren looks at Rey with such confusion and longing. Rey looks at Ren with such disappointment and tough love. Also, I didn't realize Poe and Rey hadn't met yet. It's like automatic frenemies.
On the other side of the galaxy children share the story of Luke Skywalker standing up to oppression, violence and so forth.... and we conclude.
Overall, I LOVE THIS FILM. I don't give a damn about the hate I receive for loving Reylo. It's a beautiful, well written film with great character development. Do I like the handling of Luke Skywalker? No. The titty milk scene was gross and demeaning. Everything else I enjoy whole heartedly.
Now onto Rise of Skywalker? God give me strength. I remember it was a mixed bag, mostly confusing hot mess with a terrible ending.

Sending a fandom: Star Wars. And Percy Jackson too if you want
[send me a fandom]
Thanks for sending an ask!!
Star Wars:
The first character I first fell in love with: Both Princess Leia and Queen Amidala, because when I was little I didn't understand the concept of a prequel. I thought that, because the OT were the old movies, that Princess Leia grew up to be Padme. But I honestly wasn't a huge Star Wars fan until I was older and the ST was coming out, so honestly probably Finn and Rey is a more honest answer.
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Han Solo. Thought my compulsive need to avoid ever becoming my father would prevent this one. But to be fair, I think I like Han in a very different way than my father does.
The character everyone else loves that I don’t: Anakin/Vader. Sorry baby, it's nothing personal, I just don't vibe.
The character I love that everyone else hates: I mean, any of the ST women, but esp. Rose Tico. I will fight to the death for Rose Tico. JJ Abrams, count your fucking days btw.
The character I used to love but don’t any longer: Padme I guess on a technicality. To be clear, as a little kid, I didn't like the PT, my dad just always had them on, and I was like "the princess/queen is my favorite because she's a princess."
The character I would totally smooch: I would like to kiss Din Djarin thank you
The character I’d want to be like: Luke and or Leia
The character I’d slap: Anakin. Hey man, try not killing babies for once
A pairing that I love: Skymandolo
A pairing that I despise: Rose Tico/Hux - honestly I don't have big thoughts or feelings on this one, it's just giving "we heard you liked reylo so we put some reylo in your reylo"
Percy Jackson
The first character I first fell in love with: I mean, Percy of course. The love for Clarisse developed shortly after, as did the love for Nico.
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: I mean, I used to wish death on Rachel Elizabeth Dare, and I no longer do that, so
The character everyone else loves that I don’t: Leo. I liked him for a while, but the writing went down hill
The character I love that everyone else hates: I don't think anyone really hates Clarisse, but very few love her as much as I do
The character I used to love but don’t any longer: Probably Nico, not because anything changed, more like. I outgrew Nico. Which is honestly lovely! It means his character helped me get to a place where I was secure and happy on my own, and there's more and better queer rep now, AND queer teens are still finding new and meaningful connections to him! So we still love and respect Nico here. He's just like ... my equivalent of Bing Bong from Inside Out
The character I’d want to be like: Probably Percy or Grover
The character I’d slap: Luke. Baby, get it together. You are 23, you should be at the club not killing children.
A pairing that I love: Percabeth 5eva
A pairing that I despise: Leo and Calypso. Hey. What was that about.

“Who knows, maybe this’ll be a good place for a base.” Rose said to her companion, little puffs of air leaving her mouth and drifting through the cold, winter air.
Rey smiled, though it was a little tight.
Even though a few months had passed since the Battle of Crait, Rey could still feel that gaping hole inside her that Master Skywalker’s presence had once been.
True, they hadn’t had much time together, and she hadn’t been able to learn as much as she had hoped, but she still felt his loss as strongly as she felt her own parents’.
Ren’s words echoed through her mind: They were drunkards. They sold you for drinking money.
She clenched her fists and her face set into a scowl.
You’re nothing. But not to me.
Next time she saw him, she was going to slap him.
Or punch him.
She hadn’t decided which one would be more satisfying.
The actual nerve he had to act like he would care. The lying, manipulative, son of a bantha!
Rey snorted, drawing Rose’s attention.
“You okay?” she asked, rubbing the Jedi padawan’s shoulder. Rey just shrugged. She didn’t know who to talk to about what happened with Ren.
Luke was gone. Leia was busy running the Resistance as well as trying to teach Rey what little she knew of the Jedi. She hardly knew Poe. And Finn…he was her best friend, but she didn’t want to burden him with more to worry about.
“Is it about Master Skywalker?” Rose asked, still looking concerned, and Rey let a small smile onto her expression. Nearly on the mark.
Maybe she could start talking about this one thing…Rose wouldn’t gossip about it, that’s for sure.
“Kinda…” Rey hesitantly said. “It’s like…I feel like in another lifetime, we could have been closer. But now that he’s gone…there’s just this hole in me. Or maybe it got larger. It’s been there since my parents left me on Jakku. I guess Luke’s death just made it wider.”
Rose pulled her arm around Rey’s shoulder and gave her a squeeze. “I know the feeling,” she confessed. “Paige and I lost our parents when we were young, but we found a place in the Resistance. But when she died…I felt so lost. And I felt her absence so badly.” Rose’s brown eyes glistened, and Rey put her own arm around Rose’s shoulders, wanting to provide the same comfort the other girl was giving her.
“I still feel it,” Rose continued as they trekked through the snow. “And it still hurts. But it helps that I’m still here, still fighting with the Resistance, for what we both believed in. And after…I don’t know what I’ll do, but I know she’ll be proud of me no matter what.”
Rose glanced at Rey and gave a small smile. “I’m sure Master Skywalker is watching over you, even if you never had time to form an actual bond with each other. I’m sure he believes you can finish what he - and the rest of the Jedi - started.”
This time Rey let a full smile split across her face.
Looks like she could count on Rose for help.
“And…well…” Rey began. “There’s something else that’s bothering me.”
Rose gave her a pat on the back. “Whatever it is, my lips are sealed.” she mimed zipping her lips and throwing the key into the nearby river. Rey let out a small laugh, and continued; “When I went to confront Ren, you know he killed Snoke and we fought.”
At Rose’s head nod, she went on; “But something else happened - he asked me to join him.” Rose let out a startled gasp, but let Rey continue. “He said he knew what happened to my parents,” Rey clenched her left right hand into a fist. “He said that they sold me for drinking money. That they were nothing, and I was the same.”
Rose looked outraged, but still, Rey went on; “But then he said I wasn’t nothing, not to him.”
“That bastard !” Rose exclaimed angrily. “He has no right to call you nothing! Even if your parents did do such a thing - which we don’t know for sure, because I sure am not taking his word on it! - who your parents are doesn't define you!” Rose waved her arms around. “I mean, just look at Master Skywalker and General Organa! Their father was Darth Kriffing Vader , and they are one of the most steadfast believers and fighters in democracy and the light! It’s completely mental!”
Rey then was bundled into a bear-hug by Rose, and she hugged her back.
“I hope you’re not letting him get to you,” Rose murmured into her ear. “You aren’t nothing - you’re my friend. And that is definitely not nothing!” Rey chuckled at her lightened tone.
“Thanks Rose,” she gratefully said. “You’re a big help.”
“No problem,” Rose replied as they began to carefully trek down to the river’s edge. “Always glad to talk smack about Ren.”
The two girls shared a laugh, but Rey cut hers short as a small crack came from under her foot. She jumped, looking down at the ice she just stepped on, and her foot slipped.
“Rey!” she heard Rose call as she pinwheeled her arms, trying to regain her balance, but she then plunged into the ice-cold river water.
For a moment, Rey was submerged, but then her feet touched the bottom of the river, and she was able to kick her way back up.
Thank the Force it hadn’t been any deeper, since she wasn’t the strongest swimmer out there.
“Rey!” she heard Rose shout again as she broke the surface, coughing slightly. “Here, grab my hand!” Reaching blindly, Rey managed to grab Rose’s outstretched hand and was pulled back onto dry land.
She shivered, clutching at her clothes, but they seemed rather tight now…
“Oh, shoot!” Rose exclaimed as she hurried pulled a blanket out of her pack. “Your clothes are made of bantha wool, aren’t they?”
“Y-yes,” Rey shivered. “W-why does it m-matter?”
“Well…” Rose sucked in some breath between her teeth. “Cotton shrinks. Moreso in warm water, but it does in cold water too.”
“Oh no.”
“But don’t worry!” Rose assured as she dug into her pack again. “I thought to bring a couple jackets with me! Here,” she pulled out a large jacket. “Put that on, and I’ll call in a pick-up. We can’t let you stay out here soaking wet in the cold - you could get hypothermia.”
Rey sighed, but resigned herself for a stay in the medical bay.
At least Rose would be with her.

Day 4 - Life Day Damerey Celebration
Prompt: Presents/ce
Summary: Life Day means a secret gift exchange.
Maybe it's just me, but doesn't the chain Poe wears in TRoS look a lot more shiny/glittery than the one he wears in TLJ?
Warnings: None. Pure fluff.
AO3
Rey looked askance at the colorfully wrapped box sitting next to the bed. Though she had known about Life Day back on Jakku, she had never celebrated it, and just last week both she and Finn (who had also never celebrated it) had learned about the tradition of giving gifts. Leia had let her know that those who wanted to participate in the secret gift exchange needed to have their gift ready by today, but there had been no pressure to take part in it.
Finn had been excited by the prospect, and his enthusiasm had spread to Rey, so she had agreed to do it as well. However, after she drew the name of the person she was supposed to find a gift for, she had regretted her hasty decision.
What the heck was she supposed to get for Poe Dameron?
Almost immediately after drawing his name, Rey wanted to go to Finn and ask to switch. Finn knew Poe much better than she did, as they were the best of friends, but that almost felt like cheating. She could at least ask Finn for help, couldn’t she? Or Snap. Or Karè. Someone who knew him better than she did. But something held her back. If she looked closely at herself, she knew it was just her stubborn independence that kept her from seeking help.
She spent three almost sleepless nights trying to come up with something. Something simple. It didn’t have to be meaningful, did it? It was the thought that counts, after all. It was while she was eating dinner one evening, sitting with several of the others around the fire pit, that her eye caught on something that gave her the answer. The firelight was glinting off of something around Poe’s neck.
She had noticed that he wore a chain around his neck, and had even asked Finn about it, wondering if he wore ‘dog tags’ or some other identification. Finn had told her that what Poe wore was much more important that an ID; he wore his late mother’s wedding ring. He had been very close to his mother, Finn explained, and his father had given Poe the ring after her death.
Rey suddenly knew exactly what to get Poe for Life Day.
But now, as the dinner where everyone was to exchange gifts drew closer, she wondered if she had made a mistake. It was too personal, she thought. He would know she had asked about him. About the ring. She didn’t want him thinking she was overly curious about him, possibly even fixated on him. Because she wasn’t.
Was she?
He was handsome, she had to admit. He was funny. Smart. Confident but supportive of everyone around him. He was Leia’s second in command for a reason. And sometimes she caught him looking at her with an intensity that would unsettle her if it had been anyone else. He would always look away quickly when he realized she had noticed him staring, as if he was embarrassed, and she found that rather interesting. She trusted him and she did want to know more about him, but she didn’t know how to go about it without embarrassing herself.
So, maybe this was the way to open that door between them. Give him the gift and hope he didn’t take it the wrong way.
The opening of presents began right after dinner. One by one, names were drawn, and that person would open their present. The person who had gifted it would then step forward and either receive sincere thanks or some joking would go one, depending on the gift and the people involved. Rey’s name was called before Poe’s, and she had a brief moment of panic. She had never even given a thought to her present. Cautiously, she opened the small box, pleased when she found a strip of beautiful, soft tanned leather. She had been telling Finn she wanted to make some new arm cuffs. Therefore, she wasn’t at all surprised when Finn stepped forward.
“It’s Runyip leather,” he told her. “Just like the jacket.” He grinned, adjusting the leather jacket Poe had given him on his shoulders.
Rey grinned back. Finn had loaned her that jacket more than once, joking that it was ‘the family jacket.’
“Thank you, Finn,” she said, genuinely touched he had remembered her comment about the cuffs. But her whole body stiffened as Poe’s name was called next.
She watched the pilot accept the small wrapped package from C-3PO (who had insisted on MCing the event). He looked at it curiously, shook it softly, then started opening it. His eyes widened as he carefully removed the silver chain from its nest of onion-skin paper. He looked around the room, his expression confused.
Taking a deep breath, Rey stood. “I know how important that ring is, and I felt like the chain you are using is just too fragile to keep something so special safe.” She shrugged as Poe’s eyes focused on her. “I worry it will break.” She gestured to the chain hanging from his fingers. “It has Beskar in it. I would wager it’s almost unbreakable.”
“Beskar?” Poe gasped. “How?”
Rey smiled softly. “A scavenger never gives up their most profitable site.”
Poe laughed, then looked back down at the chain. He nodded his head and blinked rapidly before looking back at her, his eyes soft.
“Thank you, Rey. Thank you.”

Hi there! Call me Em. I’m 24 and queer. I’ve recently become interested in writing again, and decided to make a separate blog for my writing because I have way too much free time. I will try to post at least one fic per week. I have a list of who I write for later in this post.
What I write: smut, fluff, romance, and angst character x reader one-shots. I am open to writing character x character one-shots in requests.
I will not write about the following kinks: piss, dubcon / rape, breathplay / asphyxiation, age play / ddlg, daddy, and pet play.
At the moment, I am not interested in writing anything beyond one-shots/drabbles.
All of my fics, unless otherwise specified, are okay to reblog!
If you are not above the age of 18, do not interact with my smut content.
Requests: CLOSED
Send me your request(s) via the askbox and I'll respond once the fic is ready. Be as specific as possible, especially if you are requesting smut. I ask that you give me at least a week to respond. I reserve the right not to write any fic I am not comfortable with.
Fandoms and characters I write for:
-Genshin Impact (Tartaglia, Zhongli, Venti, Ei, Scaramouche, Kamisato Ayato, Kazuha, Itto, Xiao, Heizou, Yae Miko, Jean, Diluc, and more. Practically any character, but with limitations: absolutely no smut/angst/romance for child characters.)
-Death Note (L, Mello, Near, Light, Misa, Matsuda)
-Star Wars (Luke Skywalker, Anakin Skywalker, Kylo Ren, Finn, Poe, Rey, Mando, Leia)
Bolded are the characters I will not write smut for. This list will be updated as I see fit. I am open to writing about other characters/fandoms, but the characters must be 18+ years old for smut/angst.
Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoy your stay! ;)

Let’s talk Star Wars
They just announced a new Star Wars trilogy. My fingers are crossed... I really hope the new movies feature:
More Death Stars, maybe even a man-portable backpack shoulder weapon this time... capable of destroying a planet.
The Millennium Falcon flying through more canyons, tunnels, etc. TIE Fighter pilots are in for a surprise!
Harrison Ford's not interested anymore so let's have CGI versions of Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia... I just can't let them go.
Sorry. I'm being terribly sarcastic here. I'm not a nostalgia guy, at all. Here's what I really hope they do: BURN IT, I SAY! BURN IT ALL DOWN!!! Commence with the blasphemy!
Blow up the Millennium Falcon. YES, YOU HEARD ME. I'm tired of it. Cut the cord and do something new. Create a new iconic spaceship for our heroes. Speaking of which...
Make sure these characters are on it when it's destroyed: Chewbacca, C-3PO, R2D2, Maz Kanata. Yup, I said it. Blow them all away. Ok, ok... maybe let Chewie retire peacefully. Han, Luke, and Leia are gone. We've loved and honored them. Now... it's time for something new. We've seen a new character (The Mandalorian) join the Star Wars universe and have interesting, new adventures so it's completely possible. Hate to say it but... put Boba Fett on the Millennium Falcon too. KA-BLAMMMMM! Good, now let's get started.
If I see another Death Star variation, I'm going to be physically ill. We should be running out of planets by now. Sorry, blowing up a Death Star no longer makes you a big deal.
Rehabilitate the new crew: Rey, Finn, and whats-his-name are all currently forgettable characters because they didn't connect with audiences the way that Luke, Leia, and Han did. This can still be fixed if the script gives them something compelling to do. Even the best actors can't make us love a movie with a terrible script.
Palpatine... yikes, Bringing him back was a lazy, terrible idea. However! Rey as Palpatine's daughter... there's something that can be done with that. She's starting up a new Jedi Order in one of the upcoming movies. If anyone is going to feel the pull of the Dark Side, it's going to be Rey. Since she's such a natural (heh), what if she stumbles upon some Dark Side powers during her meditations? What if one of her students is strong in the Dark Side and they explore the possibilities together, leading to the new villain (literally "flirting with the Dark Side")?
